"So, I kindly remind to you that this forum would not be the same without me because I'm the salt that brings the flavour to this site, you get it? You know what they say, food is nothing without salt!" You love yourself a lot--narcistic devotion.

Recruitments are also taking place in Kismayo and surroundings. For one factor, recruitments gives employment to so many young, unemployed mainstream society. For another, it helps the government swell its military and police capacity and therefore control the country.

I was told by a friend of mine in MN who was at the meeting. It was massive gathering and mostly the organizers were Puntlanders and Somalis from southern Somalia. Among the distinguished persons who organized the meeting and made emotional speech was Mohamed Cabdi Qaac.

Duke, I heard the first phase of the construction will start on May this year. Most of the initial capital needed to carry out this project is in the hands of the relief agency. Those other projects that were carried out and implemented had weak management capacity and internal disputes on who is to earn the largest share of its profit and retained earnings. Conversely, Horn's projects in Sanaag, Togdheer and Sool and around parts of Juba region focus on ways to alleviate our plight because of lack of central government. It had been very successful due to its depth and broad knowledge on the conditions of these areas, assisting mostly needs of differing Somali communities. Now it is targeting Las Qorey, an ancient commercial city that has declined during the civil war. Its fishery sector, which Somaliland relied on for its Annual Economic report to UNDP seemed sustainable for years until management problmen has ripped the heart of this industry. This industry was however very productive and effective in terms of employment and involvement. The JNA reported once, "Less than 1% of Somaliland’s population is engaged in the fisheries sector, mostly limited to small-scale fishing of crabs, lobsters, prawns, and sharks. More than half of the fishermen are employed to supply the tuna canning factory at Las Qorey, which re-opened in 2001, and processes 16 tons of fresh tuna per day. Industrial fishing is carried out almost exclusively by foreign vessels. In 2003 the Somaliland government licenced 36 Egyptian vessels, which earns the government around US$ 50,000 per vessel annually and provides some local employment. Somaliland has limited surveillance capacity with which to detect illegal fishing. Potential catch from Somaliland’s marine resources is estimated at 90-120,000 tons per annum; total fish production in Somaliland is believed to have reached its highest level in 2004, but is still below 13,000 metric tons22." http://www.somali-jna.org/downloads/Draft%20Cluster%20Report%20Livelihoods%20&%20Solutions%20for%20the%20Dispalced%20in%20English_I.doc I think the LasQorey is a great development program and it will indeed respond to the needs of our people very swiftly.

Cano Gel, from translation standpoint, I don't think it does look a bad propoganad. It could be a political conspiracy or a bad publicity gimmick from the Kuweit journal. There is no doubt that the conference took place but the question is can their gathering have an impact on the public views and how will this affect Isreal's interest on Somali problems. By reading the few narrative lines adjacent to the two pictures, I tried to read and understand. It says like "fii arda Soomaal , maqadsada Kmuusaa aswad". As far the translation goes, this line is accurate. Magaca ilaahay baanu ku dhaaranaye, waxaanu ku noqonaynaa hantidii walaalahayo iyo Awoowayashayo Yuhuuda ahaa ee ka yimi ama ka soo jeeday Somalia ,waxaanu kaloo ku noqonaynaa si aanu u xusuusano Anbiyadii waaweynaa ee degenaaa dhulka Somaliyeed sida (nebigii Armiya iyo nebi Muusihii madoobaa ) kuwaso ka ilaaliyey dhulka somaliyeed khatar ku timaada.

Cano, click on this link and read the whole article in Arabic. http://www.alseyassah.com/alseyassah/PDF/07/Jan/19/32.pdf btw, you didn't get the whole objective of the conference and its outcome. They claim Somalia as their ancestral homeland and will go back in the future to reclaim it.

"Btw, you sure the article didnt come from jihadwatch?" It is from LA Times. I didn't like the article and it reeks of racist overtones.
-
It is laughable and you won't believe it. I came across this news article that is posted on allSanaag.com and was translated into Somali. The article indicates and reasons by a way of evidence that some adherents of Judaism have gone ahead to claim Somalia as a location of their ancestral homeland. It says the war on the Islamic courts reinforced the belief. Anyone who is proficient in Arabic should read the line and give us a confirmation. Besides, the journal Al-Siyaasiyah is a well known and a prestigious one at that. AllSanaag

After reading this opinion and the propositions he puts forth, you get the unavoidable conclusion that there is deep hate the author evinces and makes clear that reader's prejudices and fear of "Islamo-fascists" is a reality. Just study his rhetorical stance and how defends his racist beliefs against Islam. Max Boot LITTLE MORE THAN a month ago, the situation in Somalia seemed hopeless. The Islamic Courts Union was consolidating its Taliban-style hold on the country, foreign jihadists were pouring in and a new terrorist haven appeared to be emerging. The CIA's attempts to finance a coalition of secular warlords had failed, and the moderate transitional government was under siege in the provisional capital of Baidoa. Then, on the day before Christmas, the armed forces of Ethiopia — a Christian state threatened by the ultra-Islamists next door — crossed the frontier. Ethiopia maintains the most formidable military in the region, thanks in part to American arms, aid and advisors. Not only did the United States share intelligence with the Ethiopians, there have been reports that a small number of U.S. Special Operations troops were on the ground. Within days the seemingly invincible Islamists had been routed. As the jihadists fled south, an American AC-130 gunship based in Djibouti got into the act, strafing suspects linked to the 1998 bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. U.S. intelligence agencies had been tracking these terrorists for years, but it was only when they were flushed out of their sanctuary that they became vulnerable to attack. Although most of the foreign policy debate in the U.S. has been riveted on Iraq, some within the Pentagon have been touting recent events in Somalia as an alternative of how to fight Islamo-fascists. Everyone recognizes that there will be scant appetite in the near term for sending huge numbers of U.S. troops to occupy any more Middle Eastern countries. Might not the U.S. be able to achieve its goals by taking advantage of local allies backed by American airpower and small numbers of commandos and intelligence agents? Such a low-intensity approach — used to overthrow the Taliban in the fall of 2001 — has much to recommend it. But a few caveats are in order. First, indigenous allies are not always reliable. They are often pursuing agendas different from our own. Remember how Afghan gunmen allowed Osama bin Laden and his followers to escape from Tora Bora in 2001? Or look at the difficulties we are now having in working with the Maliki government in Iraq. Second, it's easier to play offense than defense. It doesn't take that many troops to rout the Taliban, the Iraqi Republican Guard or the Islamic Courts Union, but successfully holding a country as large as Afghanistan, Iraq or Somalia is a much more manpower-intensive task. If the U.S. or our allies don't provide those soldiers, where will they come from? Ideally, they'll be locals trained and armed by the U.S., but, as we've seen in Iraq and Afghanistan, standing up effective security forces is a laborious, long-term process. It's a race against time: Can the government consolidate control before the Islamists launch an effective guerrilla campaign? This danger is particularly acute in Somalia, where the Ethiopians have made clear that they have no interest in a long-term occupation. Once they leave, Somalia is likely to sink back into the clan warfare that has predominated since the fall of dictator Mohamed Siad Barre in 1991. There is a moment of opportunity now for the international community to step in and stabilize Somalia. What's needed is an effective foreign peacekeeping force along with a large influx of aid to the transitional government. If that's not forthcoming — and odds are it won't be — the Islamists will find it easy to stage a resurgence. ATHIRD CAVEAT: In fighting terrorists, the U.S. won't always have the freedom of action it enjoys in Somalia. Terrorists find shelter not only in ungoverned spaces like Somalia but in anti-American countries like Iran and Syria, in ambivalent countries like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, and even in pro-American countries like Germany and Britain. For various political reasons, the potential for swashbuckling, Jack Bauer-style counter-terrorism in such states is less than in non-states like Somalia or Afghanistan, where anything goes. Indeed, a team of CIA officers faces indictment in Italy for ing a terrorist suspect off a Milan street in 2003. So, by all means let us celebrate the achievements in Somalia, even while recognizing the likelihood that we have not heard the last of the Islamic Courts Union. In contrast to setbacks in Iraq, Somalia shows that jihadist insurgents are eminently defeatable. But realize that the "Somalia " is not easily exportable elsewhere. We need to tailor different approaches to different theaters of this global counter-insurgency. This is not a one-size-fits-all war. Source: LA Times

Dear Rahima, let us not jump into conclusions and give this TFG some time to recover from its misshaps and continue acheiving what it plans in the future. AbuGurey, I agree brother and we have no choice but to go with the TFG due to our own internal infighting that has devastated the country. Asalamu calaymkum

Sultan, this is actually a nation wide plan on the reconstruction of Somalia. I don't know how much money was earmarked for the feasibility of these projects and It is not limited to "Somaliland" contrary to how you interprated. Art, how? I think Yahoo News inserted wrong link in the bracket and mistook Production Sharing Agreement with Petsec Energy Ltd. http://au.finance.yahoo.com/q?s=cxm.v&d=t Here you can find all the news of Canmex and Puntland, but I do agree that Range Resources has changed faces of ownership several times and it is not out of the picture yet. What happened to Korean National Oil Corporation (KNOC)? It signed a Letter of Intent on April, 2006 in which it transfered 50.1 percent ownership to KNOC.

Well said Xaruuri. Duke-U r very welcome and I agree the people of Mogadisho are now creating a positive climate for their city and realizing all other trumped up charges of conspiracy against the TFG. PRESS RELEASE-For Immediate Release:- Hargeisa Secessionists Desecrate Somali National Flag (NSPU) January 22, 2007 The Northern Somalis for Peace and Unity (NSPU) strongly condemns the recent, despicable act of desecration in which Hargeisa-based secessionists burned the Somali national flag. Ironically, the ingrates burned Bluuglay at the very site where it was hoisted for the first time on the first parcel of Somali soil that was decolonized. It is a sad commentary that the mutinous secessionists would go out of their way to insult all Somalis, irrespective of home region or place of residence, in this way. It is also a shameful affront to the memories of our forefathers who struggled and paid a high price for the realization of this, most memorable event of independence on June 26, 1960. NSPU also categorically rejects the dishonest, mob-like demonstrations in Hargeisa that the secessionists orchestrated in that city some days ago for the sole purpose of deceiving the international community into thinking that northern Somalis would want to secede from the rest of the country. Nothing is further from the truth. A plurality of the Somali people in the northern regions are unalterably opposed to the often repeated fabrication by the secessionists that there is a separate entity called “Somaliland”; when in fact three (3) out of the five (5) northern regions in the former British Somaliland Protectorate are against secession and are solidly in the pro-Union camp. To prove this point, on the same day the secessionists organized their pathetic demonstration in their enclave, large counter demonstrations were held in the cities of Badhan and Hadaaftimo in the Sanaag region. Huge pro national unity demonstrations similarly sprang spontaneously in Las Anod, the regional capital of Sool and in Buuhoodle District of the Cayn region. Meanwhile, residents of the Awdal region, in the far northwest, have simply refused to buckle under pressure and join demonstrations orchestrated by absentee secessionist politicians who came to the region to foment rebellion. All these point to the illegitimacy and bankruptcy of the clan-driven, blind quest to secede the northern regions of Somalia from the rest of the country. But the secessionists had never, in more than dozen years, let facts or reason get in the way of their chasing of what is patently a hopeless pipedream; namely, to revive a long-dead colonial entity (British Somaliland Protectorate) and use it as a tool to dismember Somalia and establish a one-clan hegemony over the other Somali clans of the north. Yet, the secessionists persist in trotting on that fruitless path without any prospect of ever realizing their subversive project. Characteristically, they never miss an opportunity to spew and hurl hate-filled invectives against other fellow Somalis, especially their brothers and sisters in the southern regions. On this particular occasion, unalloyed fear about the current, realistic prospect of Somalis succeeding, at long last, to once again reconstitute the central authority of the country has gripped and traumatized the secessionists. After all, their whole strategy for separation and secession was predicated on the assumption that anarchy and lawlessness will continue to plague the south, particularly the capital city of Mogadishu and its vicinity. Thus, in an apparent state of panic, they threw out all pretences to civility and decorum to the wind and proceeded to wantonly desecrate the much-loved symbol of Somali unity—the beautiful national flag. This disgraceful act of delinquency bordering on sedition was orchestrated by rabble-rousing politicians, led by none other than Faisal Ali Waraabe (Faisal the Hyena). Mr. Waraabe and the other reprobates of his ilk have proved, beyond doubt, that they would stop at nothing to incite their already agitated constituency to rebellion. And, for what purpose, one might ask? For what purpose, indeed! Since, hell will freeze over before the secessionist miscreants get their way! It is quite befitting that most of the intransigent, narrow-minded Hargeisa politicians, who campaign to dismember the Somali Republic hold foreign Passports. Their unreasonableness is a function of the options that they have, which are not available to their often misled and frequently propagandized constituency. That is, to catch the next plane to such foreign capitals as London, Helsinki, Sydney, Stockholm, etc., after it becomes apparent to them all that their ill-fated obsession with secession is doomed to failure. When that day comes, (as surely it will) the likes of Mr. Waraabe would have no qualms about leaving for distant shores with the poor local citizens holding the bag! So, brothers and sisters of northwestern Somalia, beware of those who will tell you that they are going abroad to seek “recognition” for ‘Somaliland’. They are either going abroad to stash the thousands of dollars they stole from your meager resources or to indulge in their yearly routine of returning to their foreign residences, and lament all the mistakes they made over the years in their goofy “jihads” against their fellow Somalis. Long live Somalia: United, Peaceful, and Prosperous! For further information, please contact: Gamal Hassan Director, Communication & Public Relations Unit (NSPU) 5470 Merivale Rd. Ottawa, Ontario. We are dedicated to the promotion of peace and unity among the long suffering people of Somalia. We believe the ‘Somalia problem’ can only be dealt with within the framework of a holistic strategic approach aimed at the empowerment of a central government to rebuild national democratic governance institutions and restore law and order throughout the country. NSPU believes the balkanization of Somalia is a recipe for future conflicts and a bleak future for the Somali people, who are bonded by ethnicity, language, religion, and shared centuries-old culture and traditions.

I fully understand what it means but saxibow I am demanding a further proof contrary to what I mentioned in my analysis. "the TFG still didn't have official international recognition before the courts came along and gave the TFG the legitimacy it seeked in the eyes of the west." Even before the courts emerged, TFG widely enjoyed international recognition. Remember the president was invited and went to New York for the Annual General Assembly that was held in New York. Somalia’s Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed, President of that country’s new Transitional Federal Government, said the history of United Nations involvement with Somalia was a good example of its invaluable role in helping the world’s emerging nations. Despite momentary setbacks, the Organization had been present at each juncture of the country’s history, from colonialism to independence and nationhood. http://www.un.org/News/Press/docs/2005/ga10386.doc.htm Suldaan, you know the world recognizes Somalia as one country. Thanks for clarifying it. This news has nothing to do with what we debated on the last thread opened by Abu Paragon who was well familiar with that specific conflict covered by many Somali sites. I was coming from that angle and was delighted actually by the good news.

Jacaylbaro, how do these articles rest on groundless premises. You can see both authors initially describe details of Waraabe's ballyhoos of hatred and myth as tools of his manipulation. FYI, both authors are from the North and their work is to show how disturbing is the developing events that might have an omen of severe community disintegration. In his attempt to solidify the collective psyche of the misinformed sector of the Somalilanders, he is constantly feeding them a regular and addictive diet of warnings that the other Somalis are about to attack them and could impose dire threats to their existence. His seemingly mysterious memory loss of his origin depicts his reflection on the Somali history and its flag through a self-deceptive narcissistic lens. This is one of the reasons I have seen so many youngesters consumed by irrational behaviour towards their country Somalia. My last encounter was with a quite grown up man who did not even know the history of former "British Somaliland" until I dissected for him how this seperatist movement, which is like a monolithic movement based on one single clan has come to a pretty pass. I really observed change in his face and heart. I would have concured with you if the political situation in the North has close resemblance with the ethnic divisions of Nigeria or even Kenya whereby one tribe is culturally and linguistically distinct from the other despite the colonial adminstrations which lumped them together as one without their consent. Remember, also, that our good old State (the Somali Republic) crumbled, in the main, because of the lack of appropriate national integration and unity consolidation policies. At zero birth of the State, the uniting factors were equal to the disintegrating factors. It all depended on what the postcolonial governments would do for the nascent Republic to survive or die.

Good move. I applaud the negotiated settlement between the two brothers.

Time Tests Man’s Soul; Hatred Overtakes Faisal Warabe’s Soul Dr. Ali I. Bahar January 20, 2007 In an interview with radio Somaliweyn today, and reported also on WardheerNews, Mr. Faisal Ali Warabe has done it again, asserting that the burning of the Somali Flag in Hargeisa today was justified. “It was a piece of cloth that had no value to us”, he argued. “That flag is like the Nazis’s flag; it is soaked with blood”, he charged. He further suggested that the rest of the Somalis should destroy the blue flag and buy another one. He made these unintelligent statements with no effort of thought process and without any attempt on deciphering on the consequences of what he was about to say. Many Somalis who have once defended this flag and fought for it are still alive and well. Does he even know that millions of Somalis died while defending this flag? Millions of others maintained their respect and love for this Somali flag, many of them in Somaliland today, and still cherish the history, dignity and unity that this flag symbolizes. Many of us were deeply offended by Faisal’s hate-laden and intolerant sentiment towards our national flag. We feel as if our souls were violated and burned down with that flag in Hargeisa, its birthplace, and are infuriated by such actions. The Somali blue flag has its genuine history and worldwide recognition that is far superior to the SNM-flag. The following is an excerpt of the history of our flag: History of the flagIn 1949 the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) decided that Somalia would be under the former colonial power (Italy) as a trusteeship territory for ten years. There were three other governments who were members of the UN Commission that were sent to Somalia as an advisory council of the trusteeship administration of Somalia. They were Egypt, the Philippines and Columbia. In April, 1950 the Italian trusteeship administration took control of Somalia and the British military administration withdrew. During the early months of 1954, a legislative council had been formed by the Italian trusteeship administration and the advisory council of the UN. The members of the legislative council were composed Somalis, Italians, Arabs and Indians. They had to prepare all laws and legislation concerning the country for the ten years of trusteeship under the United Nations. The members were not elected, but each political party, foreign community or any other recognized organizations were asked to select members. Mr. Mohammed Awale Liban had been selected by the Somali labour trade union. Then members suggested the the Somalia national flag must be adopted by the legislative council in order that the Somali people could get to know their National Flag before independence. When the legislative council agenda reached the discussion on the Somali National Flag, Mr. Liban proposed that only the Somali members should discuss the issue. According to the legislative council's constitution each new proposal had to be voted on by all the council members. Mr Liban proposal was adopted and the Somali members of the council chose Mr. Sheik Omar to be Chairman. The temporary new chairman said that the issue of the national flag would be debated the next day, following which Mr. Liban went home and started to design the Flag. He chose the blue colour to represent peace and the UN and placed a white 5-pointed star in the centre. Each point of the white star was to represent the five Somali regions which had been divided by the colonial powers. The next morning the council session started around 10:30. However, once the chairman had opened the session Mr. Liban requested a chance to speak, which was granted by the chairman. He stood up in front of legislative council members and stretched out on his chest the blue flag with a white star in the centre. As he kept on stretching the flag across his chest, the Somali members applauded and cheered while clapping for five minutes. The temporary chairman made a short speech in which he acknowledged the ability of Mr. Liban whose talent had produced such a beautiful flag less then 24 hours. Mr. Mohammed Awale Liban said the blue color stands the United Nations who help us to reach our dream of independence; white means peace and prosperity; and the star is the five regions of the Somali people. Faisal H. Jama, 08 Mar 2000 Here is an excerpt from the history of the SNM- flag: “The flag that one saw around 1990 belonged to the SNM (Somaliland National Movement). The SNM was the rebel group which started the long war for Somaliland liberation against the former dictator of Somalia, Ziad Barre. Their flag was three horizontal stripes of red, white and green with the Shahada on the white stripe but without the black star. At that time, more than 10 years ago, Mr Egal was not even in the country. There was no single political party. The only political and military organization ruling the country was the SNM. So, after the second flag (white with green disk), the Somaliland Parliament decided to adopt a new and meaningful flag. In memory of the fallen SNM heroes, the Somaliland parliament decided to adopt the flag of the movement SNM, but with some changes. They put the green on top, white in the middle, red at the bottom with the Sahahda on the green and a black star on the white stripe” This flag did not belong to any party but to the SNM which Mr Egal wasn't even a member of. According to the sources, the red color stands for the blood of SNM and the Dark STAR stands for the death of the Somali nation. The question is: Where is the blood of those who died in the hands of SNM? Does their blood count? Tell me which flag is soaked with the blood of innocent people? The SNM-flag or the Blue flag? No mater how dark the SNM painted the white STAR that represents the five regions where Somalis reside, that will not kill the Somali people and Somali nation will somehow find a way to stand up again. Never a nation has invited destruction upon itself with the eagerness and the ignorance with which the Somalia people have done to themselves. Men like Faisal Ali Warabe, who are utterly consumed with paranoia, are continually preaching hate and stoking the already burning fire. We are being split up into groups doped up with fear, hate and invective, with each group genuinely afraid of being exterminated by the other. Hatred, in deed, is an exploitable human nature capable in obscuring both the ability to reason or critically apply a certain level of mental capacity to process thoughts before you utter them. Hatred and straightjacketed indoctrination in the name of clan have, unfortunately, contributed to the intellectual disabilities and the unconscionable mishaps that Mr. Faisal has demonstrated every time he opened his mouth. Hatred towards the rest of Somalis is a new form of racism advocated by Mr. Faisal Warabe and he left no stone unturned to poison the brains of the young generation in Somaliland with this venom. His formula of blames and hatred constantly feeds the Somaliland pubic with vindictive attitudes towards the rest of Somalis. His political ambitions are entrenched on quicksand of war mongering and violence that he refused to acknowledge. He seems to be blinded, crippled in his critical thinking and is incapable of seeing himself for what he is. He reminds me of the infamous Cain and Abel myth in which Cain killed his first-born brother, Abel. He is now trembling like an ague at the report that there is a possibility of new government in Somalia again, lest his motives of control and command power become exposed. This is a very dangerous man hewing out for himself in order to strength his political ambition of divide and rule, something even the white man failed to do to the Somali people. People should see him for what he is. HE SHOULD APOLOGIZE TO THE SOMALI PEOPLE. Dr. Ali Bahar E-Mail:aib_1@yahoo.com

Somaliland AbdulRehman Hassan 22 Jan, 2007 Unyielding Yamamoto spirit is the only means of survival for this fever; getting double or nothing is its motto; and Faisal Ali Warabe is its defining face and the central character. The northern secessionist saga is still puzzling the minds of the concerned and the spectators alike. It gets extremely clumsy when men's career path defines nation's destiny and not the other way around. The force behind this relentless separatist crusade is based on wolfish hunger for power. It drove the secessionist leaders into this humiliating, pitiable, and reprehensible state of madness. Theirs is a disgraceful road never before traveled by any Somali. They are very overt about their admiration to the colonial past. How many lines of ethics should be crossed before one's inner soul finds peace with a downfall of this magnitude? Anyhow, the separatist idea was originally proposed by individuals with clear intentions of using the North as a stepladder to Mogadishu based top leadership positions of the nation. For example, Ambassador Abdirahman Tuur denounced the separatism after he became the "President" of the northern enclave. Also, M. I. Egal didn't believe in it wholeheartedly. He was just waiting the right time to change uniforms. The disclosure of his plan to keep the nation together was always delayed by the on going hostilities and the lack of peaceful political means in the south, and eventually was cut short by his death. The separatist leaders are not only lacking a reasonable argument for their claim, but they are also stripped of character and conduct. Putting the starred-blue in flames was act of evil orchestrated by deplorable thoughtless fools. Why? For what reason? Who is in fight with them? They denied our rights to some parts of our land and deported many Somalis from Hargaisa. Who gave them the right to do that? Is it not criminal act to deport a citizen from his/her own homeland? With all that swallowed without a single word of response, and with their legitimized selfishness kept unanswered, the separatist leaders further provoked the Somali people by burning the unifying symbol of the nation to ashes - The flag that we owe a lot to, but is in debt of nothing to anybody. At what base for separation? According to Mr. Faisal Ali Warabe - the leader of one of the two main opposition parties and the self-proclaimed mouthpiece of this disastrous wasted effort of separatism, it's his people's ethnic background that is different from the ethnicity of the mainland population. His relative viewpoint was better demonstrated by Mr. Mohamed Hirad. Mr. Hirad's factual and analytical highlights can be accessed from the following Wardheernews link. According to this reference, Somaliland is exclusively for Mr. Faisal's clan, and by the way, that is a perception shared by all SNM sympathizers. But the separatist-sketched-map of Somaliland covers more clans than Faisal's clan. In Faisal's point of view, it's technically their fault to be where they are. "Sorry! God had placed you on my way. I was meant to have this land and I will." How can he accept them, while they share lineage with his enemy – the mainland people? The whole reason for the secession was to cut contacts with this very people. They are not in SNM sympathizers' list. However, the sad fact for Mr. Warabe is that, these other clans make no less than half of the population within the territory claimed by the separatist. The above discussed is the only explanation for their argument of becoming a sovereignty nation. Again, the question is: at what base for separation? The separatist group is desperately playing their ugliest card as they hope and lobby for the continuation of lawlessness in Mogadishu. Just recently, they received the returning warlord Mr. Muse Sudi Yalaxow with red carpet during his transit stop at Hargaisa. Some other warlords made unexplained frequent trips to the enclave. It's becoming obvious that, the separatist group is just taking the first baby steps of establishing its anti-peace operatives in Mogadishu. To better their chances of achieving their ill-fated objectives, they are very determined to keep Mogadishu busy and burning. In his recent interview with one of the web based radio talk shows, Mr. Warabe said, "We are both from the major Erir tribe and we discussed some brotherly affairs", referring to his meeting with Mr. Yalaxow – a Mogadishu based warlord. His real intent was to convince Mr. Yalaxow to undermine the relative law and order brought to Mogadishu. The northern separatist group that high jacked the will of the good northern people, breath one and only one thing, which is tribalism. They have no vision for nationhood. They have no feeling for the constant fear, and lack of security faced by millions of families in elsewhere in the country. I was appalled to see some Kenyan and European parliamentarians naively bought into the laud separatist propaganda and therefore, paying visit to the secessionist outpost. How will these respected legislators justify the behaviors and actions of this extremist junta? Why didn't they visit Sool, Sanaag, and Awdal and genuinely facilitate a safe environment where people can express their true opinions without fear from Faysal Ali Warabe and his armed clansmen? A run away clan can't force another clan of equal power to jump over the fence with it. Recognition to the northern enclave will open the gates of hell and will serve no purpose whatsoever.
