  7. When is this culture of lining up little school girls on the sides of the road to welcome politician is gonna end. I wonder where did this culture came from? In the days of Siyaad Barre, little school children were ordered to dress up, hold flags, stand in the sunny streets for hours only to be dusted away by a speeding SUV. I'm sure some of you remember those days. Fast forward twenty two years, school kids face the same garbage. I never understood two things, this way of 'soo dhaweyn' and politicians photo-opping 'xargaha u jara' opening new schools, hospitals in which they had nothing to do with or even opposed in the beginning. I'm thinking these are a little more than photographic moment for a propaganda purpose. Wixii Siyaad Barre iyo Communism laga keenay baa wili la daba ordayaa. What's so significant about having school kids hold flags on the side of the road? Where are the boys horta in these pictures PL welcoming the PM? Ma inay waraf la dhacaan baa laga baqay.

  14. ^Fair enough but I don't think AS 'foreign extremism ideology' should be characterized as 'islamization program'. You say it's foreign extremism ideology yet you call it islamization programs. AS may spill blood to describe themselves that way but it ain't so no matter how much they claim it. Heck AS is winning the hearts and minds war if you think what they do is an islamization program. And yes some people will probably get turned off but I highly doubt to the point of leaving their deen. Again, Somalia never had an absolute religious government so expecting the public to embrace is setting yourself up for failure. We always had secular governments and never cleric judges or religious institution.
  15. ^Right. For a man claiming to not care about gaal PM yet start a topic to alarm the public about the Somali dastuur by the 'white man' doesn't require the PM to be Muslim. How ignorant for Somalis to accept anything handed to them by the white man.

  17. Wadani;924659 wrote: Waar iskaka dhex bax arimahan yaanad ku waalane. I summed your paragraph into one sentence and you get mad. Why? Do you get mad easily? Somalis were Muslims before the war, after the war, before AS and after AS. The idea that AS 'islamization programs' turn people into atheists and gaalo is....well fill the blank. By the way what islamization programs did AS bring to the country? Suicide bombing? Gunning down Sheikhs inside the masjid or soon after they step out? Blowing up school kids? What 'islamization programs' do you speak of. AS brought nothing but foreign extremism ideology that's contrary to the Islamic teaching.
  18. ^As if charcoal was financing the formation of Jubooyinka admin. Charcoal is a problem for the all the South, not only Kismaayo. Secessionists so much interest these days in the country they so claim they departed two decades ago, or did they?
  19. Wadani;924631 wrote: Isn't the highlighted part the reason we can expect to have Somali gaals running for office? The heavy handed nature of Al-shabaabs Islamization program has caused the pendulum to swing the other way, with Somali atheists, secularists and libertines becoming more emboldened by the day as they represent themselves as the natural alternative to the extremism of al-shabaab. Relgious extremism is secularisms bestfriend. ^Right Somalis will be flocking to the churches with their bibles tight on their hands because of 'islamization programs' of Alshabaab. Not.
  20. SomaliPhilosopher;924636 wrote: If you want to personalize the issue; I am by no means worried. But this is not about my worries. Its about why the writers made the requirement for the president and not the pm to be muslim, why the past two president have been sheikhs while the pms have been secular technocrats. Is this intentional? What are intentions behind it if so? You want to examine the conspiracy of why we had 'two sheikh' presidents and 'two secular' pm? Are you sure the 'white man' isn't playing ticks on your head today sxb? Sorry sxb but I'm trying to show you how naive that sounds. Lots of people believe Tupac is alive but is he? If I were into conspiracies, I would indulge in why we have two unuka presidents and two gedo pms. Unuka had far more representation in the recent Somali leadership than other clans why is that?

Welcome to Somali politics. Embracing your clan politics blindly is the new democracy.

I like to believe Somalis learned a lesson the hard way and see AS for what it is; al-qaeda in East Africa. I hope no Somali will sell or give a refuge to AS let alone giving them weapons. But when you got couple dozen warlords roaming around the capital and some are working with the government, it is not hard to predict these venomous old snakes will bite and bite real hard. Expect the infamous isbaaro to come back. By the way, Amnesty international opposed this move. Somalis never learn a lesson.
  23. SomaliPhilosopher;924597 wrote: Of course it doesn't... Though when it says the president must, and what the prime minister doesn't, what does that imply Jacpher. Does everything have to be written out explicit for you to consider its implications? If you're worried about gaal PM for a country over 9.999% Muslims, then your worries are misplaced. I've never seen or spoken with a Somali gaal so I know chances are ZERO for a gaal PM to lead the nation especially in this day and age when the Somali MUSLIM government officials get killed for being murtadiin. I expect for AS to play that card to frighten people and claim Somalia is taken over by gaalo and the 'white man' This dastuur needs lots of work and it is not a holy and sacred book of the angles.
