Very interesting. According to the author, we originated from Oromo although some of us deny this. If you look at the diagram, you'll see that the line goes like this, Noah>Ham>Cush>Oromo> Somalis. I didn't read the whole thing but I wonder if that Noah is nabi Nuux. Anyway, who's the author? He's not Somali. Is he?

Better late than never. I admire..... You know I can't reveal that! I don't want anyone losing their head.

I'm glad to hear all of you out there are safe. Alxamdulilaah. May Allah punish those who commit such atrocity. Those responsible need to be brought to justice. I see some of you already assume that "Muslims" are or may be behind these barbaric acts. Don't be judgmental walaalayaal. Our religion directs us to verify and not rush into conclusion if news is brought to you, especially by faasiq. I am just hoping this act of violent on innocent people including Muslims won’t create a hostile response to Muslim community and result in closure of mosques and Muslim schools.

Some of you seem to get annoyed by my replies to someone who suggested a warlord involved in the civil war to be a true Somali nationalist which is really offensive. In my opinion, a true nationalist would never partake such war. To me, Somali nationalists are those who love, care, and devout their time & interest to the existence and the well being of the country, its peopel and culture. An example would be the Somali poets and musicians whose work displays a true nationalism. It may be fair to say the warlords are rather nationalist to their own clan, instead of the country. May be some of us didn’t grasp the real meaning of the term. All the warlords deserve the worst possible punishment for killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people and causing another million to flee from their homes. They don't deserve recognition. Am I the only one who see them that way? Saaxiibayaal sorry for the replies although they were related to the topic. My apology. MM: Addressing people as Yar-yaruurac isn't nice.

Thanks for the tip guys about the so-called Somali movie. I am not a big fan of Somali movies. I have seen Qabyo and it was a BIG turn off. The plot was ok but there's a room for improvement. I still don't understand why a man had to play a "woman". Couldn't they hire a sister? This man playing woman almost hugs and kisses a man. Yuck! I also saw Rajo which I didn't like. Isn't it odd to pay $20 for these kinds of low/poor quality films. I would prefer to pay just under $9 to see the Hitch or Guess Who. The only Somali movie I enjoyed watching was WACYI. Makki Xaaji Banaadir did an excellent job. It was very funny and the story line was interesting. I'm actually wanting to see The Letter, a Somali documentry about Somalis in Maine made by Somali.

You're right Haddaad bro/sis. That's his full name Muhammad Siddiq al-Minshawi but I was just using Munshawi for short. I have come across that link on islamweb.net before but what I was actually looking for the Moalin Mus-haf for kids, where children are reciting after the sheikh. Here's a link of what I am talkig about. http://www.islamway.com/?iw_s=Recitor&iw_a=view&recitor_id=218

Tuujiye, You're absolutely right! Don't look any further than SOL forum. Our own members are full those who advocate for qabiil and its sickening mentality. How miserable do you have to be to reject another clan’s existence and their share of land/resource/government? When is it time to compromise? When do we realize we failed our own country/people? When is it time for us to go back and learn from our own mistakes? Will we ever hold hands together and treat one another with dignity? Will Somalis ever trust each other? I hope our grand children will live to see this happen. When is enough? Until a tribe is wiped out? Another 15 years? Never? Each of us CAN make a difference! Would you choose to speak of Somalinimo openly & proudly and yet secretly wire money to your clansman for engaging war or would you be honest with yourself first and then denounce the warlord mentality and the negative usage of qabiil. Somalia is waiting for us, not the next generation of warlords. Allahuma Ahdiinaa Wa Iyaahum!

I've been looking for Qur'aan recitation for children, the Moalim version for kids. I have downloaded Juzz Amma, the Moalim version, kids reciting after Sh. Munshawi in mp3 format at islamway.com. Allah know how much the kids loved them. I could not find juz Tabarak and Mujaadalah. If anyone knows any link, please let me know. Thanks A fried of mine told me he has juz Tabarak of Moalim Shiekh Munshawi (my favorite qaari) but it's time consuming to convert 3 tape cassettes to mp3 format and then burn to CD. I might end up doing that but before then I'm hoping someone can find a downloable one online.

Audacious: Walal Siyaad Bare's grip on power (the genius had many reasons thou) is 1//5 the cause of Somalia's downfall, the so called "president" and his mahbars (SSDF) , the "SNM" and their zionist "mujahids," the the moryoons who inhabit Moqadishu , and last but not least the all the ignorant, uneducated, tribalistic,power-hungary SOMALI'S is 4/5 the cause of Somalia's downfall Were you a member of Koofid Gaduud group? You sound like one. Seems like you took a full pledge to defend your clan no matter what. I wonder how far you would go to fulfill such a pledge? I guess your avatar says it all. Why not change that pledge to defend the deen of Allah. Just a thought!

Audacious: If you describe Siyaad Barre as “Gen.Maj.Aabihii Soomaaliya.Halganki wadanka.Geesgi Afrika†you need some serious history lessons. I am afraid history describes him quite different. I agree Siyad Barre is deceased but that does not mean the cancer he planted in the country should be forgotten. May Allah reward him for (no more, no less than) what he earned. Ilaahey ha ku abaal mariyo camalkii uu hor marsaday. Sxb, unlike you, I never praised a warlord. It’s you who made a poor analysis by calling a warlord a true nationalist. I feel they’re all the same, criminals that deceive people using tribe as a tool. Think about it saaxiib. Hiiraale & Qaasim were allies fighting with Morgan not too long ago. Now it’s the opposite. Until we agree these warlords are evil and be rooted out, we would have no peace & no country. Look at all replies. Do you see any appraisal for warlord?

I think some of you might qualify to be on those crazy TV shows, Ripley's Believe or Not or Fear Factor, etc. I wouldn't mind watching a nomad doing their thang.
-
audacious: Neither did I suggested Yeey is a true Somali nationalist, not I addresed him as president. Hiiraale & Yeey are on the same token. They're both criminals and deserve to be jailed if not executed. Walal don't we call one of the biggest warlords president now? To compare Barre to those drug dealer thugs is...is...UNBELIEVABLE. Praising Hiiraale and Af-weyne? Do I sense something here? Did you get this article from gedonet also? I would have believed the article had I not known the facts on the ground. You're talking to someone from Iskufilan Village. Cut the crap sxb. I can name at least a half dozen people in Kissima whose family members were killed/harassed/looted by Hiiraale militia. By the way, the drug dealer thugs you mentioned were Aabe Siyaad's hit men. What does that make him?

Tuujiye, Let me be the first to say XANAAQ D-DAY sxb

Why not hold responsible for the countries who cut the deal with these warlords?? Somalis will pay the ultimate price but why not try to hold accountable both the warlords and the country that owned the toxic waste.

Haddad: I don't want to get into political but Hibo mentioned some of what Arab governments/countries did to Somali refugees. From Libya to UAE to Saudia to Yemen, they did not only treat the refugees inhumane, but also took advantage of and humiliated. Saudia imposed a ban on our livestock import which was the backbone of millions of Somalis. It was discovered later the ban was politically motivated. The list goes on. Some of us may want to deny this but history won't. I think it's fair to say Non-Muslim East African countries did a lot better for us than Arabs whom we think are closer to us. I am not suggesting Arab individuals are responsible for these but what I'm pointing out is how their governments/countries behaved. Why do we regard such countries as friends and/or brothers? Don’t get me wrong. I don’t hate Arabs but I certainly dislike how their governments do business.
-
audacious: Col Barre Aaden Shire (Hiiraale) What! You gotta be kidding. Paying two months of rent and removing some road blocks erases his record full of crimes he committed in lower jubba area in the name of his qabiil? Isn't he the one who left the last phase of the peace conference in Nairobi to fight with Morgan in Kismaayo? How in the world can you call a warlord a true Somali nationalist? If we follow this analysis, then all the warlords including Aideed, Yeey, Ato, Jees, Morgan, Yalaxoow etc, might as well be considered true somali nationalists.
-
A question for the Arab defenders: When was the last time a Arab government respected or did something good for their people? Compare the salary of western doctor to Arab doctor (same degree, same yrs of experience, same employer & job classification) The gap is so huge that it makes you think Arab governments are programmed like robots to discriminate against their people. Somalis say, "Ninkaad kabahaaga ka tolaneysid kabihiisaa la fiiriyaa" Xiinfaniin said it well. They need to rise to the equation. And, don’t forget Arabs damaged Somalis more than any other nation in the world. They did all those horrible acts to Somali refugees that no nation on earth did to us. They may consider us their Arab brothers we definitely have our own grievances.
