Waxaan jeclahay inay yihiin toabanka aayadood ee ugu dambeeya Suratul Kahf. Waxaa kaloo la tilmaama xadiis sheegaya inay yihiin tobanka ugu dambeeya ee isla suurada. Sheeg nabi Qur'aanka magaciisa labo jeer kaliya lagu sheegay?
  2. “If the hearts neglect the tables of this worldly life, they will sit at the tables of the Hereafter among the people of this invitation, but if they are satisfied with the tables of this worldly life they will miss the others.†(Ibn Al-Qayyim) Perhaps we forget to invite the nomads to such a lovely invitation. ** Hoping our forgetfullness was a case of (18:63) and not that of (4:94) **
  3. Baashi: Thanks for sharing. It is not easy task to do a good tarbiya. My little one is just learning to crawl and screams at me whenever I take the remote control away from him, as he loves to lick it. Ragyahow murti iyo majaajilo fiican ayaad meesha keenteen balse waxaan dhowrayey in hadalka dulucdiisa noqon doono hor u kicinta Muhammed ee waa sidee? Hadda ka hor ayaa anagoo dhowr ah habeen waqti dambe aadnay inaan soo booqano nin ragga ka mid. Guriga wadaadka markaan tagnay ayaan kula kulaney gabar hoos taagan. Gabadhii ayaa irida naga furtay markaasuu mid naga mid ahaa inantii dhowr eray ku tuur tuuray. Gabadhii ayaa ninka su'aasha badan la yaabtay oo tiri war waa sidee rag diin ka muuqataa tihiinee waaxay shukaansigan saqda dhexe ah. Nin naga mid ah ayaa yiri mar waqtigan oo kale cid ay weeso u dhowrsan tahay baanan jirin. Marka hadaan xoogaa kaftanka galo oon Baashi la jirsado waxay ila tahay in reer Aw-Weyso-dhowrte aysan xiligan dambe weeso u dhowrsaneen maadaama uu wiilka magaca quruxsan rag xiniinyahood tuhmay.
  4. Subxaanalaah; saaxiib Ramadan waaye Xanta naga daa. Consider eating the flesh of your dead brother? Amakaab ayaa iga soo haray. Somali u tarjumaaya another Somali. I don't know her but she could be Sijuwi. By the way, she's at least not blaming the whole gudniin thing on Islam like some of us do. I agree with her. It's horrible and needs to be stopped.
  5. I’m a bit surprised that some of you blame the Wadaad for waking the parents to these problems. Thought I don’t doubt brother MMA or the Sheikh but I’m terrified by that number. It’s a huge number and I haven’t heard of it as I am a resident of the state it took place. A friend of mine told me that his sister has witnessed an incident involving a Somali teenager giving up adoption to a baby that gave birth right at the hospita. His sister has pleaded to the girl not to give the baby to gaalo for adoption. She advised the girl to take the infant to relatives or other Muslim family that might be willing to take the baby. She turned her down and run away. She didn’t want to reveal her name or any of this, as she was afraid her family would slaughter her. Not good excuse to my standards. This is a huge problem for us and we simply can’t ignore and hope it’ll go away. A Somali Sheikh once said we should worry about every Somali kid oo halaabaya oo suuqa gala because that kid can influence the rest of the Somali kid much more than other non-Somali kids can. So true.
  6. Athena & Rahima: Waanu isu kiin deynaa bal meeshaad ku soo kala hartaan aanu dhowrnaa. I enjoy being Mustamiciinal kiraam inta badan. Perhaps inaan cilmi idinka faa'iideysano. Alle ubaahne: Thanks for sharing that. May Allah reward you for trying to defend His diin. Intentions count the most. Taqwa: Hadaan la kala roonaan roob ma do’o bey odayasheenii hore yiraahdeen. For some reason I was listening to the tafsiir Qur’an not too long ago and it was in Suratul Acraaf maqrada ugu dambeysa. Since it relates to this issue may be I should share it with you. Casharaka waxaa ku dhex jirtay aayada “Khudil cafwa wa’mur bil curfi wa’acrid canil jaahiliin†Sheekha wuxuu sheegay in waqtigii Cumar Bin Khatab ahaa amiirka uu uririyey dhalinyarada Qur’aanka iyo cilmiga taqaan uuna soo dhaweysan jiray. Wiil ka mid ahaa dhalinyaradaas ayaa adeerkiis oo reer baadiye ah u yimid oo ku yiri waxaan maqlay inaad ka ag dhowdahay amiirka ee bal ii geey. Odagii reer baadiyaha ahaa ayaa markii Cumar loo geeyey ayuu eed kusha ka saaray amiirka oo yiri rasuulka scw waxbuu na tari jiray adiga waxba nama siisid, amiir caadil ahna ma tihid. Cumar intuu xanaaqay ayuu ku dhawaaday inuu odagii ul la dhoco (waad taqaan Cumar siduu u kululaa oo looga baqi jiray. Waa ninkii gaaladii Quresh ku yiri wadaadaas ayaan marayaa markuu Madina u socday ninkii hooyadiis raba inay gablanto ha isoo daba galo. Muslimiinta kalena dhuumasho ayey uga baxayeen magaalada) Wiilkii yaraa ee diinta garanaayey ayaa Cumar ku yiri Amiiral Mu’miniin, Alle wuxuu rasuulka amray inuu cafwiga qaato, wanaaga dadka amro, xumaantana ka reebo, jaahiliintana iska daayo. Cumar intuu is celiyey ayuu wiilkii u mahad naqay odagiina iska cafiyey. Sidoo kale, Sheikh kale ayaan aayadaan ka dhageystay asagoo ku fasiraya in Alle uu na amrayo sadex waxyaalood, 1) inaad cafino qofkii na dulmiya, 2) xiriirino kii na jara, 3) qofkii waxiisa noo diidana aanu anaga wax siino kuu diidana adiga aad wax siiso.
  7. Akhyaarta Sharafta leh, things have gone too far. It’s Ramdaan and if we can’t agree with each other, let’s not disrespect one another. Walaahi it is silly to see Xagxagashada in Ramadan. Let me share this beautiful hadith that I love. The prophet scw said, "I am a guarantor for a house on the outskirts of Paradise for the one who leaves of arguing, even if he is in the right." Muranka waa la isku nacaa ee aan ka waantoono walaalayaal. Alle ubaahne: Someone with such name should show tawaaduc towards Muslims. Humble yourself brother. Walaahi there is nothing heavier in the scale of a Mu’min on the Day of Judgment than a good character. This is a hadith but I’m paraphrasing. Believe me brother; pride & arrogance go together with Kibr while humbleness is amongst the best of the akhlaaqul Mu’miniin. Drop the habaar and consider taking bro/sisters advice. You could have made duca for the author and get the angle’s duca on your behalf in return. When you make duca for your [Muslim] brother, the angles make duca for you. Which duca is likely to get accepted? Yours or that of the Mala’ika? As far as I know, the author claims to be Muslim and it’s not ours to deny his claims as we are not in his heart. Wadaayoow Dhul-dhiga is bar kheyraa lagu sheegayee. Dadka qaar baan jawaab mudneyn. Runtii nin magaciisa badalay hidayaan Alle u weydiinay. I don't mean you're arogant or kibr but it's a sincere advice. Taqwa: Walaal qoraalkaada xanaaq baa ka muuqda ee is daji. Muslimka waxaa lagu yaqaan inay is cafiyaan. Hadii qof waxaadan aheyn uu kugu sheego naftaaduna ay tahay waxa lagu sheegayo Alle dambi dhaaf weydiiso, hadii kalena midka wax kugu sheegaya u dambi dhaaf weydii. Athena: Ma eedeysanayaasha ayaan ku jiraa? You raised good points though. We can civilly debate the ruling of cursing individuals or groups but I think we should require ourselves to adhere to the Islamic akhlaaq when debating. The Quran directs us not to engage a debate with non-Muslims unless it’s in good manner and inline with our values. If that’s how we engage with non-Muslims, obviously Muslims deserve a lot better.
  8. Jazaakalaah Kheyran. I might use some of them as ringtones for my phone. Shukran.
  9. What's historic about that day? Is it AY elected president that you're full of cheers or something else?
  10. Alle u baahne: I understand your anger towards someone insulting Islam and you have a reason to get angry at the author for offending Islam or mocking the Ulumaa. It’s the sunnah of the prophet scw to show disapproval and discomfort when Islam is violated but habaar isn’t the answer. It would have been better if you addressed him in the way the prophet scw used to address such people. Famaa Baalu Qowmim Yafcaluuna.....! Such words would have been enough of an answer. The author needs hidaaya more than anything. By the way you have a beautiful name. Al-Faqiir Ilalaah. Ramadaan Mubaarak to all
  11. According to Islamway and other sites I checked, Insha’alaah tomorrow is the first day of Ramadan. Somalitalk lists many countries including Saudia, Egypt, UAE, Sudan, Kuwait, Iraq, and Palestine announced Tuesday the first day of Ramadan. You may read the article in Somali at Somalitalk. They added Oman & some Europe Fatawa group disagree and will observe Wednesday. I don't know who this group is or where they are based at. Happy Ramadan. I'm looking forward to joining Tarawiix tonight. Allow cibaado suuban iyo caafimaad daa'im na waafaji. SOL-ers see ya all in Eidul Fitr. In the mean time, caf iyo masaabax.
  12. With all due respect sxb, your ideas don’t go with the title of the thread and also your signature. I sense dishonesty within your post. Reserve your comments if you don’t have anything good to say about your neighbors. You’re just gassing up the flames. One must purge tribalism from his heart before speaking against it. Nomads let's have a civil debate. No need to personalize it.
  13. "Castro Is My Friend" Says Elian Gonzalez, Now Aged 11 Source Elian Gonzalez, who was the little boy at the center of an international custody battle in 2000, says not only does he think of Castro "as a friend, but also as a father." The boy was taken back to Cuba after an armed raid on his relative's home. Elian set off a 7 month custody battle after being rescued off of the coast of Florida in 1999 - an attempt to reach the USA in which his mother died. "Despite everything they did, it was wrong, they are (still) my family ... my uncles," said Elian. Since his return to Cuba, Elian has been treated as a hero. Castro had Elian deliver a highly publicized speech on the 5th anniversary of the raid in Miami. In the interview Elian said he told his relatives he wished to return to Cuba. CBS 60 Minutes this Sunday There's go my friend Castro.

Originally posted by Legend of Zu: noticed most of you said "dont use your debit card" why is that? i know you would prolly say "it is Obvious duuh"..but may be it is not obvious to many...including me So why not debit Card? I’m not a banker or an expert on the subject but what I heard is that when you use a debit card, the money electronically comes from you bank account, as your debit card is linked to your bank account. If someone steals your debit card numbers either online or at a restaurant, they can buy either online or by phone whatever they want to buy using your debit card numbers as long as your bank account has the funds to cover those expenses. When the statement arrives at the end of the month and you catch those charges, you dispute them and the banks starts to investigate, which could take months. In the mean time, your money is gone and the bank reaches a decision based on their findings. Some banks will send you to deal with the business where the fraudulent charges occurred. Anyone with your debit card numbers can almost wipe out your bank account. Scary. Ain’t it? With credit card, you’re a little bit safe. When you use credit card to make a purchase, the card issuer pays the money electronically on your behalf. Then the issuer sends you the bill. If this happens to be a fraudulent purchase, it’s the card issuer’s money that's stolen, not yours. But you have to catch it within 60 days and dispute it. Once you report them, you have no worries. The card issuer has to chase the thief and cover those expenses. I think by law here in the US, you’re liable for only fifty dollars, which I heard most credit card companies forgive. I bought a software online couple of years ago and downloaded it. The software does not do what they advertised and I was stock trying it on different systems. It didn’t worked at all. Keeps crushing every pc I tried it on. I contacted the support line via email and all I got was those auto-reply emails. I wrote a short email to them again and demanded my money. No respond at all expect those auto-reply thing. I disputed the charges with my credit card company, which took about five minutes. I never paid for that software and awhile later; the software company emailed me with apology, rep phone number and some tutorial to follow. They thought I was gonna have a change of heart but I deleted the email and gave them a negative feedback on their site. Nake, Though I don’t know any business that sells the book, I’ll look around this weekend Insha'alaah. You may PM me.
  15. ^ LOZ, is this a consumer survey? Do I get an iPod out of this? Exactly. Do I get iPod nano? While I don't trust online transactions, I do pay my bills online including Xawilaad. It took them forever. I don't do much shopping online. I like to see, feel & touch the product I’m buying. I guess you can call it nomad-shopping syndrome. Shop, touch, feel & compare. More like that priceline.com commercial. Depending what you use. I'll advice against using debit cards and shopping online. Credit cards are pretty much save to use. Most, if not all CC companies don't hold consumers any accountability of fraudulent charges should your cc# fall in the wrong hands. I think by law you’re only liable for fifty dollars, at least here in the states. Debit cards are completely different ball game.
  16. This topic is getting out of control. Can we just get along? I think by now Nasir made up his mind. Ducadii baa Alle u aqbalay. Unless he's going to India, he isn't thinking about Maryooley. Ninka Cadaan, Thanks for sharing your story. I take it your wife is Somali. Hey nomads, let's try to be good reer xidid. Hope you know the term. Do you go by whiteman? I would think there're other interesting nicknames. Rahima, ragaan kugu goobanaaya waad iska dhicisay. Bilaash booska laguuguma dooran. Walee inaad fariidad tahay. Gacan baan kuu taagay.

MMA: Those were the good old days. Ramadan qurbaha qiimo kuma leh ma is tiri saaxiib.
  19. JB, Where does my post imply Islam is a weak religion? You make yourself #### when you assume. Can your confused mind view things without metaphysical scale for just few minutes? Re-read my post and try not to use those philosophical binoculars. Do you comprehend there’s a higher power behind the universe. Why did you dodge m u h a m m a d’s question regarding the purpose of life & creation? Does it not relate to the subject or did your philosophical investigation fail to provide answers? Adigaaba lunsanee seed ii cawinee? Mise aakhiradeydaa laguu soo diray inaad i dhaafisid Ninbaa yiri waxay ku andacoodeen waxbaa isku dhac-dhacay oo ninaa soo baxay. Haddana miyey ku andacoonayaan waxbaa isku dhac-dhacay oo dumar baa timid? Castro, don’t you get tired of lying bait trap?
  20. Though she's doing a good deed, I hope she has no religious affiliations or religious goals towards the children. I noticed some humanitarian aid workers have other desired goals in life. I used to work with a guy planning to move to some Middle Eastern country and do missionary work. This particular individual told me that he was going to endanger his life for claiming to belong to humanitarian aid group while conducting his missionary business. He was what you call a religious fanatic, trying to convert everyone he meets and the discussion would also revolve around religion. Actually, I manager of mine kept asking me if I feel comfortable working with him. I didn't have a problem except that work waits while we discussion lasts for hours.
  21. Not really. I remain humble unless they cross the line.
  22. I never understood why many Sheikhs discourage reading philosophy books before acquiring enough Islamic knowledge about the subject. I think I know now. May Allah show us all the guidance.

Interesting topic akhyaarta. Waxaan rajeynayaa in sheekadu aysan aheyn khaas. Inoo daadihiya xog-waranka.
  24. Somalis are known for asking too personal questions. Walaahi the question above is nothing compared to what they ask. Just shows how nomadic we are. I developed a way of dealing these things. I keep it real. Just say it as it is, straight from the heart. People will dislike you at first then, they will respect your honesty later and they'll avoid you the rest.
  25. I can't wait for it. I'm excited to welcome it. While browsing the web, I came across these songs and I thought of sharing them as they might bring some memories of Ramadan back home. Marxab Marxab Yaa Ramadaan Muxamed Rasuula'laah Sooma Ramadaanka Link
