Are you from that area where people used to ride crocodiles in the banks of the river? I used to hear those wild crocodiles does their river fishing and they watch the football game not on TV but in a baaf full of water.

Alle Ubaahne: Waryaa you can’t be too serious. Let me ask you, on Islamic scale, which is more sinful killing or Taariku Salaat? Do you think Morgan and Yalaxoow let their beard grow out of love of the Sunnah? War ragaad meesha ku magacowday Salaadooda Alley u taal balse danbiyada ugu waaweyn oo Alle ka digay ayey habeen iyo maalin ku qabeystaan. Dad Muslim ah oon dambi ka galin ayey nafta ka gooyaan. Maal & dhiig Alle xaraam ka dhigey ayey xalaaleeyaan oo wiliba maal galiyaan si loo daadiyo. Fasahaad ayey dhulka ku fidiyaan. Dilku wuxuu ka mid yahay danbiyada ugu waaweyn culumaduna waxay yiraahdaan waa midka labaad ama sadexaad, marka laga soo reebo shirkiga, wax ka weyn ma jiraan in naf xaraam kaa ah aad goysid ayadoon dambi galabsan. Salaadu waxaa muhiim ah inay xumaanta kaa reebo marka hadii salaada uu safka hore ku tukado deedna uu dagaal qaban qaabiyo, salaadaas ma ah tii Qur’aanka lagu sheegay. Haweeney ayaa naar ku gashay dhibka dariska salaadeedii har iyo habeena wax wey tari weyday. Ma u maleyn in nin wadan dhan sal kiciyey salaadiisu wax tareyso haduusan soo laaban? Marka saaxiib raggu waa isku rank ee ha kala reebin. Hadeysan Alle u soo laaban, hoygooda dambe waa loo yaabaa.

Castro: You just reminded me of a Islamic website I visited the other day in search of Eid information. Everything is in Arabic and the English page is broken link that leads to a dead end. I gotta admit, English speakers aren’t a top priority for them. They loaded Adaan clip on the first page that blasts your speakers whenever you visit their site. What’s more annoying trying to explain Adaan to a redneck sitting next to you. Here how it went. What kind of music was that? It’s called Arabic. Oh, it’s Arabic, I love Arabic music. Turn it up. No it can get too loud. Is that your favorite song? Yeah, it’s called Adaan and most people listen to it four or five times a day. Where is the beat? Oh I forgot to tell you it has not beat. That’s strange. I know I love strange things  If you go to [local Arabic shop] you’ll find it there.

Castro: Nice job there buddy! I doubt if you would get any response [dang, I’m too critical] but if you do, please share with us. Kheyr: Thanks. I try to remain as one, except that at times I let myself off the hook. Watch it buddy. You’ve just pissed off Curling Water. Cool it down it’s Yowmul Carafaa! In this particular issue, I would side with Abdel-Moti as he has the knowledge to support his rejection. In real life, I would ask for the references and the status of all the clerics involved/backing the fatwa. In this age and time, it’s relatively easy to issue a fatwa without the creditability & the support of the legitimacy of qualified scholars.

The religious decree sparked a hot debate on the private satellite network Dream's popular religious talk show and on the front page of Sunday's Al-Masri Al-Yawm, Egypt's leading independent daily newspaper. Soad Saleh, who heads the women's department of Al-Azhar's Islamic studies faculty, pleaded for "anything that can bring spouses closer to each other" and rejected the claim that nudity during intercourse could invalidate a union. During the live televised debate, Islamic scholar Abdel-Moti dismissed the fatwa, saying: "Nothing is prohibited during marital sex, except of course sodomy." For his part, Al-Azhar's fatwa committee chairman Abdullah Megawar argued that married couples could see each other naked but they should not look at each other's genitalia and suggested that they cover up with a blanket during sex. Has this fatwa been finalized? Does the reporter/article cite the references, sources in which the clerics used to back up their argument? I don’t know if this piece of info is available or kept private. I’m not familiar with how fatwas are introduced and legalized or what channels they go through. If someone with such info, please speak up. It’s reckless to condemn the culumaa based on one or two fatwa’s you don’t agree. There might as well be a valid reason for discussing such topics. It’s likely they spoke and wrote about poverty and all those things you listed but it’s not for them to splash it on your monitor screen.

I see the Admin or mods chose to delete my post with no apparent explanation though I was offering a constructive criticism. Is it possible I dared the untouchable or my advice was out of line? I understand we’re living an era of political correctness and one is expected not to judge on what’s morally right or wrong. I just didn’t know SOL was up to that standard. My apology. Ahura: If Jilbaab (Hijab) is a simple garment; then Salat is a simple workout/exercise and Zakat a give away gift? No? Don’t you agree each is a form of Cibaada, a Muslim identity and symbols of Allah. If so, disparaging and denigrating is supposed to be appropriate and acceptable? Please don’t cheer them up. They don’t know the severity of mocking and poking fun at the expense of the symbols of the deen. MMA: You’re playing wag the dog tactic. Neither Al Itixaad, nor the battle of Luuq or Bari is the topic but since your grievance is unbearable, I urge you go down to your local courthouse and fill a class action lawsuit against Itixaad on behalf of your nieces. I’m sure a Canadian jury will rule on your favor. That way, SOL is no longer objected to your nagging name calling (Reer Surweelgaab) of the group.

I concur so long you don’t mean the Somali jilbaab or Hijab terms, as silly. I’m sorry I don’t have a business of condemning the symbols of Allah regardless the design, the color or what have you. It may just be seen as a piece of cloth but it’s indeed an act of worshiping and an important principle of our deen. If there’s a concern something deserves an augment in terms of quality & design, then there should be a way to do that without being abhorrent about it. As of yet, I’ve not heard or seen a unanimous agreement among Fuqaha & Imams that a particular design of hijab is the absolute jilbaab. I also have not seen Imam endorsing a particular Hijab. However, I have heard that some Somali Culuma said the Somali hijab is the closest one to meet the jilbaab critieria. (It's a milestone our valued sisters reached and deserve a commendation.) This is a hearsay, not a testimony or a declaration of some sort. The beauty of Islam is that it encourages moderation on all things, as it may sound inconceivable to some. Each Muslimah has not only the right but also the responsibility to speak against what she feels is demoting and/or humiliating her. It’s her God given right to learn and seek the knowledge so she can practice her deen accordingly. I don't know about other cultures but Somali parents usually don't carry hostility toward their children if they choose to wear Khimar or Cabaayad over Somali jilbaab. And those playing devils advocate should know this. Hijab isn't really a controversial issue in the Somali community.

Walaahi this thread is going overboard. Nothing of importance or educational about it. I didn’t realize a few of us graduated with a professional degree of badmouthing and smearing Islam. Scorning and mocking Muslims and Islamic Shacaa’ir puts right on the borderline. The blatant the mockery it is, the nearer to the fence. In case you didn’t know, smearing and ridiculing Muslim women is one of the seven major noxious sins. Don’t get caught up in the hype. I don’t really understand why the shacaa’ir of Allah are constantly under scrutiny and vicious criticism. Allah has spoken highly of those honoring the symbols of Allah as it shows a piety of the heart. To those speaking against and making fun of such shacaa’ir are obviously on the opposite end. Islam in neither a complex religion nor one that’s based on hardships. It encourages easiness and disfavors hardships and difficulties. The prophet scw emphasized the importance of easiness and said he would prefer easiness over difficult whever there’s a choice. For some to portray Islam as the opposite, not only does it show how little you know but your twisted bigory mindset. Hijab is not a comtemporary and it is here to stay. A Sauid site imagery of jilbaab or an abuse on women in the pretext of Islamic sharia, does not speak of the principle of this great religion. This is a tact used by gaalo and gaalo raayo for labeling Islam as evil and potential abuse for women. Xiin: well said. إذا نطق السÙيه Ùلا تجبه Ùخير من إجابته السكوت A question for the Hijabophobia: Is this what you're advocating for? Does resemble Kafan indeed.

I think you guys are hijacking the thread. It should be about these pictures, not hijab bashing bigots and their pet peeve. Have you ever climbed a coconut tree? A dictator and his staff in action.

shimbire-laaye wili ma xuusataa? CW: There's a business opportunity here to make an attractive Hijab cloth line that meets the jilbaab criteria. I recently heard there’s a famous designer targeting Muslim women and coming up Islamic cloth lines.

Shower with cold water? Reminds me of those hotels in Nairobi. I don’t know how I did it but it was tough. Salaad Subax was so hard knowing your weeso was too cold.

Originally posted by Castro: Dhaqan iyo deen are not one and the same thing good Ducaqabe. I was in no way implying you personally, Xaashaa lilaah, I detest of having a negative thought of another Muslim. Please do forgive me if you take it differently. I noticed you like to play the devils advocate sometimes though. My message was more to the mods, nin lagu seexdaw ha seexan. I do agree with that deen and dhaqan are somewhat different. Generally, our dhaqan does not go against the religion but there’re instances where people do things in the name of religion and/or dhaqan and it turns out that isn’t the case. For example, many extensively argue that Islam introduced FMG to the world and it’s a Muslim problem. On the other hand, you see someone engaging a debate of how Hijab isn’t our dhaqan and how it oppresses women. I’ve yet to see a Somali government, Somali elders or an Imam offering a fatwa threat for women neglecting Hijab. It’s a religious practice, thus a choice for the practicing sisters. Nothing is compulsory about religion. One would take or leave it. Frankly, the late regime used to harass those with Hijab. It would help a lot if people would distinguish culture and religion correctly. Not long ago, I was watching The Amazing Race, the episode where the contestants fly to India. One of them saw two man holding hands as they ride a donkey together. A lady commented and said oh look, they look a happy couple. Off course, the lady didn’t know them personally but by their action, she assumed they’re of a different breed. I don’t know if it’s me but lately I have noticed some nomads of mocking acts of worshiping which are direct divine revelations of Allah. They could be a bit creative and choose their words wisely so they aren’t critical of Allah’s law but those that practice improperly. Sorry Dhubad Off the topic.

Ololaha Horumarinta Reer Miyiga. Couldn’t they come up with another name. The development of Reer Mudug Oops……..I meant Miyi. The third picture reminds me of how I missed Cadey. SOL is slowly becoming a place for random disparagement remarks of Islamic values.

Not sure but I think in Hargeysa Soomaaliya, they say it adeero or walaalo.

And who's breaking up with who? Brad & Angelina so Castra has a chance? Way to go amiga!

Thanks for the qasiida. Full of touching words. What does the poem say about your peremptory manner and egotism?

You must not know your people well. You probably would not meet or see any nomad millionaire. Why? Because there isn’t such thing. A nomad would keep his money at the bank and lives like a normal Faarax, asset does not exceed more than few thousand dollars. Wears old jeans and eats at the local Biibito. Never enjoys or displays any luxurious lifestyle and does not reveal anything. At day, he’s busy planning the next big investment and at night he plays qabiil cards and does some shaxaat in the nearest makhaayad.

I hope no one is here to compromise their faith for others just to reach probable truth. We can use every mechanism available to deny the death of Elvis and Tupac but to deny the scriptures and the existence of God, is plain deception and foolishness. Why choose deception over reality. There are indeed signs of Almighty God, but only to those with clear vision and good thinking and judgment. Say nay to the purpose of life and steer towards falsehood and state of confusion, as you live your life along the lines prescribed by a fallible philosopher. Life goes on but when reality hits, truth won’t be any good for you, as your testing period ended.

Castro: Does it really make any difference? One is Somali and the other is Arab. Both are Muslims, minority and after money and fame. If not worst, one is married to bi/homosexual.
