Feminism isn’t about dreaming of ATM man that dispenses cash. If that’s your perception of feminism movement, you’re giving it a whole new meaning. The solution to the problem you’re experiencing with your man is to try to fix him rather than relating him to other men. Blaming on all men or embracing feminism isn’t gonna guarantee you a quick fix. Fix the one you got girl.

^He’s better off be jail at Ambassador Hotel, served hot meal and given a tour, all paid by Riyaale and SL. If SL paid the hotel some $30 a night for the detained individuals, then who paid for the tour? Was that your tax money or the collected fees of the sea port Mr. Red?

Has the tide turned? Your thoughts on the ICU and the TFG
Jacpher replied to Libaax-Sankataabte's topic in Politics
I think the ICU will accomplish more in three months time and win more hearts and minds, if given the chance. They may not be the only option for the country but they’re certainly the only way out of this qabiil ridden conflict. They just announced the 4.5 formula needs to go. If we judge the TFG and ICU based on results, the ICU will come out a winner. They’ve outsmarted and outsucceeded the TFG. The only option the TFG has now is to make peace with them and learn from them. TFG is not one man show but it’s a whole institution that lives to divide, conquer and rule the country in tribal lines. They better get their act together as there’s a new player in the field. We should give the courts the benefit of the doubt though I still think they need to engage the South occupiers before advancing to other regions. NN, so two members that hail from PL gave TFG legitimacy base support! Just two PL represent all of PL inhabitants? Wanna rethink that sxb. Yeey is not even creditable enough in the streets of Bandar Qasim let alone Banaadir or Burco. The joke is on you. Tahliil, I share the sentiment and agree with the description you gave but I’ve a feeling we are a drop in the bucket. It’s time for maryooley to realize and put their own personal interests before that of their qabiil and warlord. Vote for and fund a bloodsucker warlord that lives to kill? Only happens in Somalia. -

I'm a Muslim. I'm a 14 year-old American teenager. I love being both, but it's not easy. At school and with my friends, I'm surrounded by the American culture: fast food, rules that aren't too strict, girls wearing mini-skirts and belly-piercings, rap music, hip-hop dancing, and disrespectful behavior toward adults. At home, at my Mosque, and with my family, I'm immersed in the Muslim culture: cooking all our own food, VERY restrictive rules, girls covered up with only their hands and faces showing, listening to prayer music, and almost never dancing, unless it's with your mom or sister in your living room. So I'm in the middle of both cultures. Sometimes, it's my Indonesian-Muslim Mom saying, "Mily, put your hijab on; we're going to the mosque." Other times, it's my American - fast food eating -loves Mom - but -he'll -never- make -it -as -a- Muslim-Daddy saying, "Go get your money; we're going shopping for your Nike Air-Force One's at the mall." But balancing cultural differences is nothing new in America's history; it can even be fun, and every group of immigrants has always done it. What's not fun, is having other people think that part of my religion and culture is being a terrorist or supporting terrorism. For example, not too long ago my family and I drove by a consulate in Los Angeles and saw less than a dozen of the world's one billion Muslims protesting in support of some of the terrorism going on in the world. "WE support terrorists," they were saying, implying that ALL Muslims feel the same. I felt angry at the protesters. My family is Muslim. WE don't support terrorists or terrorism anywhere in the world, and neither do any Muslims that I know. I've been going to Muslim school once a week for four years at the Islamic Center. They teach us that we should treat all people - Muslims and non-Muslims, with respect. They never teach us that terrorism is a good thing. We start every class by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. The protesters were ****** and should have been ashamed of themselves for criticizing a country that protects them more than the country they were from. We're grateful that America gives every immigrant family - including Muslim families like mine limitless opportunities to live successfully in peace and freedom. My mom got so mad at the protesters' attempt to involve her, that she started yelling at the lady leading the protest, and I thought they were going to get into a fight. They were talking so fast in Indonesian that I couldn't even understand what they were saying, but I could tell my mom was standing up for America. Defending America - being proud to be Americans wasn't something my Mom or I - or any of my Muslim friends have to think about carefully. We love America. We love Islam. People who think you can't love both are wrong. That's why it bothers me when I get stared at when I go into Burger King wearing my hijab. This is why it bothers me when the airport profiles anyone who "looks" Muslim. This is why it bothers me when I smile at people in my hijab and they don't smile back. I look forward to growing up in America and raising my own children to be good Americans AND good Muslims. I look forward to a day when national disagreements will be resolved peacefully, and innocent children and grownups won't have to die. No matter what name we refer to Him by, God IS blessing America, and we shouldn't let our religious or cultural differences make us forget that. About the author Source

ME, Rahima is right. There’s a ruling on prayers and fasting in those countries where the sun stays up. There are many hadiths regarding these matters, but Socod_badne doesn’t follow the sunnah. Maybe that’s why he doesn’t think the rulings are different. Islam is universal religion that’s compatible and applicable in at all times. Here's a fatwa concerning Ramadan in countries where days and nights are sometimes continues. Haneefah, Sudais will hopefully be replaced by another qari of a same level. Everyone loved Ali Jaber when he was the Imam of Masjid Haraam but when Sudias come to the picture, we all loved him more. It’s a blesseing from Allah to have qari, one after another with a beautiful voice and excellent recitation.

Nice pictures. In a fantasy world, it can happen right at this moment but in real life, chances are slim to none. The grandchildren of our grandchildren may live to see this happen in 250 years or so.

Ready for Ramadan 1427/2006? It is that time of the year again. Ramadan is about six or so weeks away. May Allah allow us to reach the blessed month of Ramadan in good Iman and health. This is a good time to reflect the changes you made since last Ramadan or any plans for the upcoming Ramadan. Also, a make up time for missed fasting days. It’s a noble opportunity for us to attain and maintain a close relationship with Allah by increasing our cibadah in this holy month. Ramadan is the time of the year to renew your faith, self-control & character, generosity, attitude in life and most of all renew your Iman. Another opportunity of this magnitude may never knock on your door again. Don’t let the sacred month down or pass you idly. Roll up your sleeves get ready to welcome it as many of us who prayed Taraweeh with us last Ramadan aren’t around this time. Please share your Ramadan Checklist or Resolutions. Saturday August 12, 2006 By Jeremy Laurance It used to be called the unkindest cut. Now the head of one of the world's largest Aids charities says we are poised on the brink of a revolution in attitudes to circumcision. Richard Feachem, executive director of the Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria, said research revealing the protective effect of circumcision against HIV is set to change parental expectations and medical practice throughout the world. Instead of viewing the operation as an assault on the male sex, it was increasingly being seen as a lifesaving procedure which every parent would want for their sons. Removing the foreskin is thought to harden the glans (head) of the penis, making it less permeable to viruses. Research carried out in 2005 showed the transmission of HIV from women to men during sex was reduced by 60 per cent if the men were circumcised. A study published last month calculated that if all men in sub-Saharan Africa were circumcised, it would prevent almost six million new cases of HIV infection and save three million lives over the next 20 years. Dr Feachem said the finding was one of the most significant in the battle against Aids and offered hope of slowing the spread of the virus. The issue is to be debated at the World Aids Congress which opens in Toronto next week. Dr Feachem said the factors influencing the spread of HIV in a country were the number of concurrent sexual partners, the use of condoms, the presence of other sexually transmitted diseases and male circumcision. "Other things being equal, in a circumcised population you have a low and slowly developing epidemic and in an uncircumcised population you have a high and fast developing epidemic." Circumcision was common in the UK in the early part of the last century. It is estimated that more than one in three boys was circumcised in the 1930s. - INDEPENDENT Source

Steve, you wrote this I'm flattered that you think I'm a police officer, but I assure you I am not. Actually, I'm an engineer who does investigative reporting on the side. If you follow the Yasmin story in the Canadian press, it becomes clear that the local police are not interested in the deep story -- they have a suspect and they are satisfied that their work is done. And wrote this on SOL: I am researching her murder, but as a journalist looking for the full story. I am not a lawyer or a police officer. There has been a claim made that she is related to Ahmed Ashareh. Can anyone substatiate or refute that claim? I'm just looking for the facts here. An engineer with a full-blown blog about latest Somali News or a journalist with inside information of police investigation on murder cases. Which one of the above are you? I do not know the victim and her family or the individual named above but I think whoever has info about a murder case should directly contact with the authorities and pass on to them instead of sharing it online with a stranger. Authorities are in a better position for use of such info and bring about justice and end to the case. I doubt if this Steve guy is a reporter. He sounds more like a hired private investigator that expects to do investigative reporting online. Steve, what happen to real investigative reporting, going to the family, interviewing witnesses, not soliciting for info online and creating dead wrong theory out of nothing? Go to the police and the prosecutors and urge them to look at all possible angles without taking it on your own. More than anything, this will help the victim. Nimuu cudur qabiili ah lafta iyo ludda saaqey wallaan daawo kale loo hayn. That sums up almost all of Somali politicians and nearly two third of the countrymen.

About three years ago a Somali lady who lived in our town found out her son was being molested by his teacher. She went to school with a baseball bat and broke at least half of his bones before the police arrived. He was found guilty and she escaped with minor charges and became somewhat of a local hero. What a women! She taught that pervert a lesson, hopefully.

Horn, This is all you gathered from my post? I once held a high opinion of your cyberspace persona but you’ve proven me wrong. Pardon me saaxiib if you though I equated you to a Zionist or neo-can. I’m obligated to apologize if you convince me though. Let me re-post that paragraph again and give you a chance to re-read it. Look my friend, I don’t wish to lose energy or effort to debate you anything remotely close to Afweyne or Hiiraale. Your political stance of these men or issues related to them is well known, and crystal clear. It feels like convincing a neocon of the legality of Iraq war or a Zionist of the occupation of Israel. It ain’t gonna happen. Well, Alle tiisa waa meesheeda. Can you spot the sentence showing Horn as Zionist or neo-can? By "Somalilander" if you mean the SNM rebels that formed in 1988, well, I hope they remember daily from salat subax untill cisha (thou I hardly believe they pray)the actions that were taken against the zionist mujahids as result of thier treasonist ways; and if they don't repent , may thier crimes against the state follow them to thier grave. If you refer this as an opinion entitlement, I see it as it is, a bigotry presented in an opinion form which lacks tolerance and respect for the death of thousands of Somali innocents wrongly killed. What is hypocritical in this stance is you speak out about that, as a political score of course, when emotionally-prone insults such as "Huuraale" and "Afweyne" (deceased individual in this case) came easily off of your religiously masked lips and you, yourself, do not hesitate in alikening me, myself, to a "neo-con" or, worse yet, a "zionist". I’m starting to doubt your familiarity level of Somali politics. Yeey, Huuraale, Afweyne, Caasho Ceydiid, Beerlaawe are some of the well-known pronouns of Somali politicians. I have not created them and take no fault for their existence. If you were a bit smarter and googled, you would have found out they’re widely used in maryooley politics. And lastly, throw all the sticks and stones within your reach. If I can’t take one or two, I should not be in politics forum.

I'm glad you have found your home. Shaariqa, A-lcayn, and Abu Dabey are some of your neighbors. Good luck with your new home and neighborhood.

Though I’m not a learned fellow, the burdah qasida contains some questionable passages. Take a look at this clip, Mawlaya, I found on youtube. I think what is boils down to is making tawassul on the deceased. Isn't that Shirk?? Kheyr, could you give a summary of the article you posted?

Police say estranged boyfriend admitted attacking, cutting her BY SHANNON PRATHER Pioneer Press Ramsey County Sheriff booking photo Afif Abdiaziz Ahmed A man is in jail after he admitted to St. Paul police that he sexually assaulted his estranged girlfriend, beating her unconscious and then cutting her face and genitals so "she would never mess with another man again." When police discovered the victim early Tuesday morning at an apartment at 1247 St. Anthony Ave., an officer reported: "Her head had so many lacerations and so much blood on it, her face was hard to identify as a human head. Her facial features on her face could not be distinguished." Police discovered the couple's 5-month-old child in the room with the unconscious woman. On Wednesday, Ramsey County prosecutors charged Afif Abdiaziz Ahmed, 26, with nine felony counts, including first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct, burglary, and first- and second-degree assault. Ahmed's cousin called 911 to anonymously report the attack. Police discovered the scene about 3 a.m. Tuesday at Skyline Towers. The victim, whose identity was withheld by authorities, was naked from the waist down. A bloodied knife and white pole lay next to her. Police used surveillance video and security staff to identify Ahmed, who had been forbidden from entering the building because of a trespass notice. Police then located Ahmed in a car driving through the parking lot as paramedics carried the victim out of the apartment. Ahmed, who police said initially lied about his identity, had blood on his shirt and hands. He was carrying $520 and the victim's Social Security card. Ahmed, through a Somali interpreter, told investigators he knocked his girlfriend unconscious after an argument, according to the criminal complaint filed in Ramsey County District Court. He told police he used his fists, feet and a metal broom handle during the attack, later using a knife to cut her face and genitals. After the woman was unconscious and lying in a pool of blood, Ahmed said, he stepped over her body so he could feed and bathe their crying infant. Ahmed admitting trying to wipe the blood off his shoes, police said. Unsuccessful, he told police, he changed shoes, leaving the bloodied ones at the apartment. A doctor at Regions Hospital told police the victim would survive but would likely lose her right eye and could suffer brain damage and substantial scarring. Ahmed will make his first court appearance today. Shannon Prather can be reached at sprather@pioneerpress.com or 651-228-5452. Pioneer Press: Photo

PB, This is cyberspace so don't lose your cool. No need to refer thousands of Muslims zionists. You're going to the extreme and these guys are dancing for you. Get over your emotions and contain yourself. Address the subject matter civily, not the person. Adeer cidii ka hadasha your Holy Father ayaaba kaa gardaran. Count me out. Horn & Allamagan, gibinka xad gudubka ha ku eeganina. Maato horey loo laayey in yahuud loogu woco ama millions of Muslims ma tukadaan la dhoho waa serious xad gudub, in my opinion. This kid is becoming the Yalaxoow of SOL for calling the deceased yahuud. Not acceptable at all. Sxbyaal rag iska dhicis iyo aakhiro moognimo ha isku khaldina. Haven't you heard Qulil xaqqa walow kaana calaa nafsik!

Horn, nice comeback though I didn’t think you would engage me again on this matter after you made some cheap accusation and failed to back up. By the way, Kismaayo is my birth place. Can't I be concerned about its issues without allegedly having a qabiil agenda? There’s won’t be any trust among Somali clan unless there’s a public acknowledgement of the crimes, brutalities committed and reconciliation on all parties involved. If one chooses to scrape these issues under the mattress or ignore to address the wounds, then that’s dishonesty. Ask any Somalilander and you’ll feel the wounds of Barre regime are still fresh, after 16 years of his death. No one cared enough to acknowledge. I for one don’t wish to have another Barre regime in Juba area for another twenty one years, and neither should you. I don’t get the SOL archives you are referring to sxb. Are those your posts of mainly gedonet or has SOL been a news organization and all this time and I was not aware of?

Oromia, I'm afraid Maf Kees has a valid concern. No one wishes to support another Melez who may bite you back harder. Find support and alliance elsewhere.

Pure blood, Unlike ciyaalka kale, I like your honesty. Barre is a hero for the family as you've proclaimed but I suspect he’s merely a hero. Waxaa jira dad badan oo ka soo horjeeda talaabooyinka wasiirka uu ku doonayo maamul u sameynta gobolada Jubooyinka, iyadoo beelaha qaar ay aaminsan yihiin in maamul loo sameeyo jubooyin ka ay ka horeyso in dib u heshiisiin loo sameeyo beelaha dega gobolka. Inanka magac qabiilka sita; aniga ma oran qoatation-ka sare, qoraalkii hore ayuu la socday. If you disagree, phone Hiiraale and tell him to mass murder beelaha magaalada daga oo dib u heshiisiin ka hor mariyey maamul dhisida. Naxar, Waqtiga ha isaga dhumin. Waa kuray qabiil ku caqliyeystay. Cidii la doodaba qabiil buu u heystaan inay matalaan ama taageerayaan amaba ka soo jeedaan. Haduu arko dad ku doodaya Faransiis wuxuu u heystaa inay French u dhasheen ama ayidayaan. He has trouble distinguishing qofka aragtidiisa, shakhsiyadiisa iyo dhalashadiisa. Maba oga Yeey uu iga dabawado iyo meeshaan kala joogno! Xoogey sheeganayaan iyo shilimaadkey u diraan Huuraale, ha u xawileen Gedo ayadey gaalada madowda soo galeenee. A rare opportunity for them to do something tangible and the betterment for the family.
