  1. I can't hear anything. Codka maxaa kaga dhacay?
  2. Meles Zenawi briefs the House WIC Addis Ababa, Ethiopia "The counter-offensive was pursuant to the decision of the House. Somalis are asking never to return to anarchy. The UIC was abandoned Mogadishu with no resistance. There were some pockets of resistance. Poplar welcome for Eth. forces was tumultuous. Mogadishu population dissolved Taliban codes. Yusuf, Gedi portraits in many parts of Mogadishu. Eth. troops quickly arrested looting in Jillib, Kismayu Never hoped, nor asked others to join us Mission was the most successful. I honor our brave young soldiers, TFG troops, Africans...." "The story ended despite gloomy perditions of analysts. Analysts might possibly, never understand the inner feeling of Somalis. The funniest part was how come Taliban –secular Shabia. Shabia was at its weakest point, yet it was best time to attack from north. Still make sure Eth. forces can do same and more if needed. We won’t stop supporting Somalis, more remains in International Community must fill vacuum simultaneously we leave Somalia Evacuation of Ethiopian forces within weeks. Next step back to home business.." :Meles Opposition Members of Parliament react Honorable Temesgen : "We can not stay in Somalia at the cost of our economy. We speculate extension to Ethiopia in Somalia. Eth. Foreign policy calls internal security than external. No one can tell for sure next,..." Honorable Lidetu: " Wining war and reconstructing are quit different. Our admiration for Gov't`s clever engagement More security measures are needed. Sooner evacuation the better. “Individual hunt”, “group chase” seems begin soon?.." Honorable Dr. Negasso: "Meles should have thanked Bush. The Somali problem takes its root in colonial times Self determination necessary for ******." Meles Responds: I hope more cooperation with opposition MPs. I feel opposition MPs should be clear on using, preserving conational rights. I call on them to take lesson from Historical Mistakes. Evacuation: Our troops stayed outside Mogadishu until invited in to stop looting. Leaving Mogadishu for TFG troops were immoral and betrayal. Ethiopia was only a symbol of force Kismayu was liberated by inhabitants, Jillib, Mogadishu, too. Surely it may government’s belief to abandon Somalia. It is true we can not shoulder more. We do not want; neither can be protectors- that is it- every body knows. At it stands now we can have no moral strength to leave civilians for butchers come back. We will vacate Somalia responsibly. Our force’s role you may call that “support operation” in towns. We will elaborate US, Ugandan leaders situations in Somalia, tell the need for int’l assistance. Some may start insurgency if offended. It is up to the TFG and Somalis to address that. No change of policy whatsoever, we will leave Somalia soon. Punt land and Somaliland were part of the Eth. TFG move. The issue surrounding Somaliland and Punt land is up Somalis ONLF, US ONLF troops we around Beltwein, Badirdle, Dinsur, Kismayu, We are grateful to the US social and economic support from US. We thank all who stood with us on war on terror. No government on earth gave money to launch counter offensive. Eritrea: Like Somalis Eritrean are our friends, the problem is with core leadership of Shabia. Shabia is totally in paralysis. Unfortunately we have another Dhaheer Aweys with them. Shabia knows it at its weakest point. That is why it is sending OLF, Radical Kinijit to disturb Ethiopia. We won’t think for a second as far as our national security in at bearch but do not forget development activities. Thank you all. Source
  3. Maskiinoow, can we get fascist on the list? A little intervention goes a long way. I've been called fascist for speaking against the brutalities committed by ruthless warlord. I'v been called worst but just wondering where do you draw the line? The hardcore supporters of drug dealer indha-cade/Eriterian and the TFG warlords/Axmaaro cheerleaders [Oops, am I in trouble] will come up with other means of nasty names.
  4. Nothing is off limit to Axmaar as they flex their musles in the region. Too bad Somalis or the warlord-government has no leverage at all. Axmaar can now bomb wherever they please in the name of chasing out Islamists.
  5. NN: Insanity is accusing people what you've no proof of. Don't go around charging people of something you can't provide evidence for. Xiinoow, I prefer Nothern Alliance in a heart beat. They were crediable to their constituents and not ready to sell the land for pennies.
  6. Ethiopian Troops to Remain in Somalia By Sher Zieve – Somalian transitional government Prime Minister Ali Mohamed Ghedi has requested that Ethiopian troops remain in Somalia for at least the next several months. Gedi indicated their presence is needed to maintain stability in the war-torn country. Although radical Islamists and the fundamentalist Union of Islamic Courts (UIC) were routed from the area, many of these have vowed to continue guerilla warfare against the Somali government. Gedi advised the BBC: "It depends how the stabilization and pacification takes place. It can be weeks, it can be months but, not more." Gedi has also asked that the African Union send peacekeeping troops to Somalia and Uganda and Nigeria have already offered to send troops. Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said that he held hope that Ethiopian troops could be removed within the next two weeks. Source
  7. Warfka waa suu u bilowday. wounding at least 2 Somali civilian bystanders during the case, according to witnesses. More attention should be given to the innocent civilian died by the Ethiopean gunfire. Whose responsible for their death? Does TFG has any leverage to raise concerns? I guess they're occupied just like the rest of the country.
  8. JILIB, Somalia Jan 2 (Garowe Online) - An unknown Somali gunman attacked a temporary military base for Ethiopian forces in the southern Somali town of Jilib late Monday, killing at least 2 Ethiopian soldiers and wounded others, witnesses confirmed. The surprise attack came only days after Ethiopian troops, backing Somali government forces, overwhelme Islamic Courts militia in the Jubba regions of southern Somalia. The Somali gunman, who is suspected to be an Islamist fighter, returned for a second round of gunbattles with Ethiopian soldiers, and critically wounded an Ethiopian military officer at the Jilib base. Ethiopian soldiers and their Somali allies chased the gunman through town, killing him but wounding at least 2 Somali civilian bystanders during the case, according to witnesses. Other unconfirmed reports indicated that the civilians might've died from the gunshot wounds. Government and allied Ethiopian forces in the region have imposed a curfew on Jilib town to investigate the deadly incident. Somalia’s retreated Islamist movement had sworn to wage a guerrilla campaign against Ethiopian troops on Somali soil before their departure from the Somali capital Mogadishu last week. The deadly attack comes on a day Meles Zenawi, the Ethiopian leader, told his parliament that Ethiopian forces would stay in Somalia for another 2 to 3 weeks. Garowe Online News
  9. "Operation Free Warlord" has been completed. Mission accomplished. Almost a dozen most brutal, warmongering, bloodsucking warlords on the loose in Southern Somalia ready to strike. Made possible in part by Meles Zenawi, the ex-rebel turned Prime Minister of Ethiopia. Thank to the peace loving members of the AU and US for supporting and backing this event.

  11. The Nation (Nairobi) December 28, 2006 Posted to the web December 28, 2006 Nation Reporter Nairobi Four MPs and the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims yesterday condemned the military incursions by Ethiopia on Somalia and demanded immediate withdrawal of troops. The leaders said members of the international community wishing to pursue peace in Somalia must recognise the authority of the Union of Islamic Courts and engage it in dialogue. They spoke after an official visit to Somaliland, a breakaway section of Somalia which is seeking independence. Kabete MP Paul Muite who led the delegation said yesterday: "The Islamic Courts have a majority support; about 90 per cent support from the people of Somalia. That is a reality that anyone wishing to bring peace must accept. "The reason is simply that they were able to disable and end the reign of warlords and bring peace to ordinary people. The fiefdoms to which the ordinary people paid taxes and road tools and the fighting between warlords is no more." Mr Muite said that the belief by Bush administration that the union consists of Islamic extremists and Al Qaeda operatives and sympathisers, was misguided as majority of the leaders were moderates. "The Bush administration has a way of seeing things in black and white and this is not the case in Somalia. They have to be more pragmatic and realise that the majority of leaders are moderate." The MP also asked Kenya as the chair of Igad, to initiate dialogue with the Transitional Federal Government and the union. Mr Muite was accompanied by colleagues Oloo Aringo, Jim Choge and Patrice Ivuti. Also on the trip was former Mandera West MP Aden Abdullahi. "In Somaliland, we found a functional government, economy and Parliament and a people who wish to be recognised by the international community as a sovereign state so that they can take part in building peace in the horn of Africa. The war there appears to be a proxy of the conflict between Ethiopia and Eritrea," Mr Muite told in Nairobi. But the delegation asked the union to abandon its quest for more territory. Supkem said the attack was "an outright violation of all international and civilised protocol". The council also asked Igad members to recall their respective ambassadors from Ethiopia. The leaders spoke a day after the Kenyan Government asked Ethiopia to stop the strikes saying the decision was unilateral. Source
  12. Kuwan wey ka daran yihiin boqoradii dadkooda iib geyn jiray. Bal aan aragno sida loola dhaqmo ayagaa cadow shisheeye ka doorbiday mid ay isku diin, dad, dhiig iyo dhaqanba yihiin.
  13. Those resonate with thousands of Somalis.
  14. The fact the matter is Ethiopian forces are in Somalia and not the other way around. Besides, how is it possible for a non-conventional force to really pose a threat against the largest armed forces in Sub-Saharan Africa? Ethiopia's military adventure not only diminishes hopes for a negotiated settlement, but confirms the suspicion of Somalis that the TFG is a proxy of Ethiopia. Is this congress man just woke up out of a deep sleep? Obviously John Bolton doesn’t hold the same view.
  15. Naxar: The problem with you is that you have no eyes and ears other than TFG. No other point of veiws other than the criminal entity. No point in engaging a door knob mindset. Originally posted by ThePoint: A/Y is a warlord but when he led Puntland - most acknowledged that some improvement had been made. Can you name some of the improvements you speak of other than subjugating the public for another term, inciting a civil war and leading peaceful Boosaas to war twice and building Aqalka dowlada [read: presidential palace] in Boosaaso rather than the capital Garoowe.
  16. I hope she made it out safe and alive. No fun getting caught up in the middle of chaos and looting.
  17. lol@rudy. Baashi I like your sarcasm. The dude needs Hidaaya more than anything. Wished his readers were also surfing on SOL.

    TFG 2.0?

You think or you know? Com'on guys. I know I'm not losing my memory. He used exactly those words, dhistay, asaastay, daadihisay, korisay. Don't make me listen to it again. Sorry Baashi for hijacking the topic. No enough time but I don't think Badhaadhe-Amuume-Kulibiyoow is enough for the ICU. Sooner these names will be familiar in the screen of the TVs. The Wazirstan of Pakistan inay noqdaan ayaan ka baqayaan.

    TFG 2.0?

Let me answer that for you. The Defense Minister Barre Hiiraale said recently the TFG is the work of the neighboring country Ethiopia. Here's the exact words of the minister. "[Ethiopia ayaa] dhistay, aasaastay, daadihisay, korisay [Dowlada]." Here's the whole interview.
  21. No. It's not me. It is You, Person of the Year.
  22. It is about you guys reporting false, saying that the Somali people have been prohibited from praying in Mosques. Juje: Who reported people are prohibited to pray in mosques? Source please?
  23. Dear ICU: I'm sorry to see you go. I wished you stayed a bit longer and accomplished few more things. You did a great job in Moqdisho, removed the isbaarooyin, brought a sense of peace & stability, cleaned the streets, and made some good promises. For that you deserve recognition. I'm glad you're going down in history for performing excellent in Mogadisho. I wished you did things differently and toned down the war rhetoric and understood peace doesn't come without price. I wished you practiced patience and diligence and conveyed the message in Islamic manner. You left a good impression on Moqdisho residents and I wished you kept that in mind in your journey. It is sad you were part of costly avoidable war. For that I’m disappointed.
  24. I don't know but Geedi asserts SL coming under the TFG. Get bigger toys from Addis so you can defend yourself better. Alla maxaa SL jab heystaa. Mar walba qolyo ayaa ku dhaga hadlaaya.
  25. Igaarka buufis carabaa usii dheer. Hadaad been ku qabatid, bog cusubuu u cararaa nooh. No point in engaging him.
