lol@zab. Xiinoow rageedii baad aheyd ileen. I wasn't a huge fan of sab. We call it wariir in Majengo but was wondering if red fire ant is the english word for it. Alla maxaan maskiin masaajidka hurda wariir u galiyey. Ciyaalnimo waa cudur laga koro as they say it. Caf iyo masaabax if you were in there.

Have you ever gone to sleep in a dirin and found haarey sleeping right next to you? Is wariiri red fire ant??

lol@account frozen. Muslinimada intii break laga qaato ayaa gaalanimada laga war doonaa miyuu xaal marayaa. Jenerale, waa runtaa. La jiifiyaa banaan seems to be the policy here. Shariif can help the TFG stand on its feet but this old maskiin man?? I don't know faa'iidada ugu jirta if they let this old man go? How many legal & illegal immigrants end up in Kenyan jails everynight and pay their way out in the morning?

Mogadishu airport shelled At least two people have been killed after a barrage of mortar shells was fired into Mogadishu's main airport shortly after a UN plane landed there. The attack in the Somali capital came 15 minutes after a nine-member UN delegation arrived at the airport from Kenya on Wednesday, but there was no indication it was the target. Passengers and workers at the airport panicked as two of the mortars landed inside the terminal. Mohammed Abdi said: "We heard the first shell behind us, and then another one struck the ground near us, and a third one hit between us and the main road and we took off to seek cover." Troop base The airport serves as a base for Ethiopian troops who helped the interim Somali government overthrow Islamic courts fighters late last month. The UN delegation, from the UN refugee agency and the office for the co-ordination of humanitarian affairs, was taken to the UN compound in Mogadishu where they were meeting with Somali officials as planned. Witnesses said Somali police forces and Ethiopian troops sealed off the airport and surrounding neighbourhoods after the attack and then assaulted civilians. A cafe owner at the airport said he had been shot by police. He said: "Ethiopian troops and Somali police came into my restaurant and beat us very badly. I sustained a small gunshot wound, but I am getting treatment in the hospital." A police official, who requested anonymity, said "the beating was a case of mistaken identity". Muhamoud Yassin, a taxi driver, said the situation remained tense: "People are not allowed to and from the facility. There is a heavy security presence." The attack came a day after a first batch of Ethiopian troops began pulling out of Mogadishu, even though a proposed 7,600-strong African Union (AU) peacekeeping force has yet to be deployed. Nigeria confirmed on Wednesday that it will send soldiers to join the peacekeeping force but many still doubt that the AU will be able to deploy such a large force and fear a power vacuum if peacekeepers do not arrive before Ethiopian troops leave. US attack In a separate development, The Washington Post, citing unnamed US officials, said that a US AC-130 gunship had fired at suspected al-Qaeda operatives in southern Somalia on Monday. If confirmed, it would be the second US attack this month in southern Somalia using an AC-130, a fixed-wing aircraft with rapid-firing guns. On January 8 the US attacked a site where senior al-Qaeda operatives were believed to be hiding. Neither Hussein Mohamed Aidid, the Somali deputy prime minister, or Abdirahman Dinari, a government spokesman, could confirm the attack. Aidid said: "This is just speculation and we have not received any information." Source

Setting the record straight about Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmad

What does Qur'an and faith got to do with what we're discussing? Keep the sacred scripts out of the fadhi ku diri. My point is that you're way off the mark. Hint: Jimcaale, not Jaamac -
In an ironic twist, the son of Somalia's most infamous warlord and U.S. nemesis is now a leading member of Somalia's interim government that is being backed by America. Hussein Aideed is a naturalized American citizen and a former U.S. Marine. But in 1993, the forces of Somali warlord Mohamed Farah Aideed - hunted by U.S. forces - were behind the infamous Black Hawk Down incident. Source

No, you don't know but you believe so. There's a difference between a believe and a knowledge. -
Almost always there is an underlying message of fallacity behind every political chess move. Everything is staged and everything is said for a REASON. What looks good to you today is tommorows gloom and doom. Talow TFG included in that everything chess game move statement.

While TFG is struggling to find military support from the International community, their flip-flop policies is becoming an everyday occurrence. They made a complete U-turn on the following issues. No foreign troops allowed [Defence Minister Hiiraale] Somali-Ethio Border eliminated, unite both countries under single passport [interior Minister Hussein Aideed] Disarm Moqdisho by force after three day deadline [Prime Minister Ali Geedi] US air strickes killed senior Al-Qaeda members in Southern Somalia [Abdirizak Hassan, president’s chief of staff] No negotiations with defeated “terrorists” ICU leadership [Prime Minister Ali Geedi] What's next? More flip-flop? Somalia: Islamists Invited Back for Dialogue Cyrus Ombati Nairobi The Somalia Government wants Kenya to hand Union of Islamic Courts leader, Sheikh Sharrif Ahmed, over to them. Prime minister Mohamed Ghedi said they want Sharif and his deposed supporters to participate in the ongoing reconciliation talks. "We want all UIC officials and supporters including Sheiikh Sharrif to come to Mogadishu for the talks in Somalia," he said. He said he believes Kenya will hand over all immigrants that have been arrested to participate in the ongoing talks. Ghedi added that none of them would be persecuted in Mogadishu since his Government's aim is to restore peace and order rather than revenge. The prime minister addressed several diplomats at a Nairobi hotel to highlight on what his Government has done since it landed in Mogadishu two weeks ago. He made the address hours after the Kenya government admitted that it was holding the UIC leader who surrendered on Sunday. Government Spokesman Dr Alfred Mutua said police are still interrogating Sharrif without disclosing his whereabouts. Ghedi announced that the Transitional Federal Government is now in control of the entire country. He said they have installed a mayor and his deputy in Mogadishu and plans are underway to appoint district commissioners across the country. He said the country's new Speaker will be known in a week's time following the sacking of the former one. Ghedi also appealed to the international community to assist Somalia restore order. He said the TFG police are now in at all police stations in the country and have exerted their authority. Source

lol@Horn. I understand Kismaayo wasn't the subject of the discussion and I know you have pretty strong feelings of Hiiraale & Kismaayo but what I don't understand is someone like you being shocked of the hypocritical policies of the TFG. Isn't TFG build on hypocrisy?

Horn, agreed but is he ready to put his past history behind or not make it part of his daily problem solving practices? Ina Yusuf has 'dictator' all over his resume in a big bold font and I doubt if Mogdisho is ready to hire a such resume. -
SO the Speaker is automatically handed to RRA clans? And isn't this hypocritical in it itself seeing how this is meant to stop them short of entertaining the president/prime minister positions? Shocked? Wasn't Kismaayo the same way? From JVA headed by Hiiraale to TFG headed by Hiiraale & Fartaag? I could care less the clan so long they appoint a civilian with a clean plate and not a ruthless warlord.

Setting the record straight about Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmad
Jacpher replied to Fiqikhayre's topic in Politics
This must be Yooni's record of Abdulaahi Yusuf. Definately not that of the public records. I was able to find the following on a quick search on Wikipedia. I know it ain't reliable source but a lot better than Idamaale. A former army officer and leader of the SSDF, Ahmed led a guerrilla movement in the 1970s aimed at ousting the Somali dictator Siad Barre. In the 1990s Ahmed emerged as the pre-eminent leader of his native Puntland region; he declared the territory autonomous in 1998. On July 23, 1998 he became the President of Puntland and served in this position until his term expired on July 1, 2001. However, after this he continued to declare himself to be the President of Puntland and started a military campaign against the new leadership. In May 2002 he gained control of Puntland's capital and was recognized as President of Puntland again, though rebellions continued until 2003. Ahmed then continued serving as President of Puntland until October 2004 when he resigned to become President of Somalia. He is said to have an authoritarian approach to leadership. [2] [edit] Implicated in extrajudicial killings The U.S. Department of State, in its 2002 Country Report on Human Rights Practices, identifies milita members loyal to Ahmed as being responsible for at least two deliberate killings of non-combatants while he was president of the disputed regional state of Puntland: On January 11, 2002, Garah Mohammed Said Gom'ad, a prominent businessman, was reportedly killed by forces of Yusuf Ahmed in a deliberate attack in which Yusuf's militia reportedly stopped his car and Gom'ad was fatally shot. On August 17 2002, Sultan Ahmed Mohammed Hurre, a British citizen, was killed by bodyguards in the employ of Yusuf Ahmed as their respective convoys passed each other approximately two miles south of the Puntland town of Garowe. Hurre was known for opposing the extension of Ahmed's presidency in the state of Puntland,[3]; according to the press reports, he was targeted by Ahmed for arrest as a religious extremist. Ahmed later claimed that the killing was accidental, but witnesses claimed otherwise. The Country Report says that by the end of 2002 no action had been taken against those responsible for the killings.[4] Militias associated with Yusuf Ahmed have also been implicated in the killings of Col. Farah Mohamed Said ("Farah Dheere") in Garowe in 2002,[5] and of traditional leader Malaaq Seemow Abdi Garuunin Baidoa, on June 9, 2006.[6] -
^^Good question Abu Geeljire. Originally posted by Caamir: ^When we have millions of $ spent on the reconciliation of Somalis in Mbgathi which resulted in the election of Abdullahi as the TFG president, is it not wrong to discredit such leader ^^With all due respect, discrediting one’s reputation and pointing out the facts of one’s reputation are two different things. Fact: 1. something that actually exists; reality; truth. 2. something known to exist or to have happened: Space travel is now a fact. 3. a truth known by actual experience or observation; something known to be true. Discredit 1. to injure the credit or reputation of; defame. 2. to show to be undeserving of trust or belief; destroy confidence in. 3. to give no credence to; disbelieve. So is it not wrong and dishonest to withhold facts??

US ambassador to Kenya, Michael Ranneberger directs TFG to start talking with the ICU leader Sheikh Shariif or risk losing forty million dollars donation set to help reconstruct the country. I guess Sheik Shariif is the most important key needed to sell TFG to the Somali public and Moqdisho. Dowladda Mareykanka oo ugu baaqday Dowladda Soomaaliya inay wadahadalo la gasho Guddoomiyihii Golaha Fulinta Maxkamadaha Islaamiga Dowladda Mareykanka ayaa joojisay 40-Milyaan oo Dollar oo ay siin lahayd Dowladda Federaalka Soomaaliya, Lacagtaas oo loogu talagalay in qeyb ka noqoto dadaalka Nabadeed ee laga wado Soomaaliya. Safiirka Maraykanka ee Kenya, Michael Ranneberger ayaa sheegay in Dowladda Federaalka Soomaaliya looga baahan yahay in ay wadahadalo la gasho Guddoomiyihii Golaha fulinta Maxkamadaha Islaamiga Soomaaliya Sheekh Shariif Sheekh Ahmed oo Muqdisho isaga cararay markii Dowladda Itoobiya xoog kaga saartay Maxkamadaha koonfurta Soomaaliya. “Dowladda waxaa laga doonayaa inay la hadasho Sheekh Shariif waxaa uu ahaa nin dadka dhexdiisa tixgelin ku leh, waana nin aan ahayn xag jir, waxaa loo baahan yahay Dowladda inay dhexdeeda heshiiso”ayuu yiri Safiirka Maraykanka ee Kenya, Michael Ranneberger. Warar la isla dhex maraya Magaalada Muqdisho ayaa sheegaya in Guddoomiyihii Golaha fulinta Maxkamadaha Ilaamiga Sheekh Shariif uu ku sugan yahay Magaalada Nairobi in kastoo qaar ka mid ah Warbaahinta Kenya ay sheegeen in Shariifka la soo qabtay. Kismaayo, Arbaco 18 January 2007 Simba Radio Saraakiisha ciidamada xooga dalka Somalia ee DF ayaa waxa ay shaaca ka qaadeyn in la furay xaruntii hore ee tababarada Luglaay, iyadoo la sheegay in lagu tababarayo maleeshiyaadka gobalka si ay ugu mid noqdaan ciidamada DF. Taliyaha guutalada 3aad ee Ciidamada DF ee Gobolada Jubbooyinka Cabdilaahi Sheekh Ismaaciil Fartaag ayaa waxa uu sheegay inay is soo diiwan galin karaan ciidamo horey u raacay Maxkamadaha oo dhawaan Madaxda DF ay cafis u fidiyeen. Fartaag ayaa shuruud ugu dhigay Maleeshiyadii Maxkamadaha marka ay is soo diiwaan galinayaan inay wataan hubkooda. “Hadii ay yimaadaan iyagoo qori la'aan socda, waxaan u fasiraneynaa inay lugooyo ka wataan talaabo adag ayaana ka qaadeynaa, waana in ay hubkooda wataan marka ay is soo diiwan galinayaan” Ayuu yiri Fartaag. Si kastaba ha ahaatee, waa markii ugu horeysay sarakiisha ciidamada DF ee gobolada Jubbooyinka ay tababaro ugu yeeraan ciidamo horey ee cafiska loo fidiyay. Horn, Luglaay? Where is that? Do they mean Lugloow? You call this rehabilitation or training base? It appears to be an entrapment for those you deem threat and trick them to surrender their weapon. Gee, I wonder how many ICU fighters woke up and handed their guns over to warlord Fartaag and went straight to rehab centers. Probably slim to none. The rehab I was thinking of was not a selective one but rather a fair and balanced one, inclusive of all killers across the board, top to button. MMA: Warkaaga waxaa ka jira widaayoow. Xaaraan ku naax, cuqubo aduun ma seegaayo aakhirona wey u danbeysaa.
