Faarax, I agree faith is as important as life and death to some but not all. I think we should keep in mind such importance of faith whenever we try to teach others. The goal is not to convert or poke fun at whatever their belief might be. You don’t walk up to a lady and start preaching her about polygamy & Islam and expect her to listen to your message. As odd as it may sound, some of us do that kind of things causing more damage than good. There’s a fine line between enjoining good and forbidding evil, and then there’s the science of dacwa. Cara is clearly outnumbered here and Khalaf may have a good intention of convincing her but the goal should not be to covert or put her in uncomfortable position so she shares he personal life with complete strangers. One should just put the message out there in the open so people don’t feel pressured to take or decline. I used to have a co-worker who was planning to join the peace corp and possibly travel to Muslim country. He was interested in learning Islam so I got some flyers from the mosque and gave him. He complained the flyers didn’t help much and were worded as sales pitch. He didn't want to compromise his Christian faith. He just needed to learn not pushed to convert. Invitation or not, Amxaaro were always the unwanted guest and involved in the country financially and militarily since the early days of the civil war. You could say those who casted their votes for Ina Yusuf in Nairoib were also not genuine people but stake holders and later became sworn enemies of him when he turned the tables on them.

Is this a required political or related course? Usually, in academic environment, freedom of speech and self-expression is exercised and encouraged but if these are science courses, the professor may be going into areas she’s not supposed. I think your friend should avoid this professor as much as possible. If your friend takes those nasty emails to the dean out of concern that she can’t trust someone that offends and hates Muslims as much as this professor does and may not get a deserving grade in the course, the dean would at least make other arrangements for your friend. I don’t know but the Kenyan student may even challenge the dean to drop the course and not appear in her transcript or get incomplete grade due to the professor’s behavior. She can hate Muslims as much as she wants but certainly she has no right to spread her hatred in the classroom or use the course as a platform to air her sons’ point of views. Have your friend keep a record of those emails. She doesn’t have to get these nasty emails unless it’s a required course material. I don’t know if I would opt out of that mailgroup or keep a hard copy of every nasty email and somehow distribute them evenly to school newspapers and media outlets anonymously via mail. Your friends priority should be to avoid any problems to her academic life.

The whole thing is about putting a façade of legitimacy to persuade the donors that Somalis are fully behind the government so TFG can get that ATM card to collect the 40+ million frozen by the EU. It's really not a genuine peace negotiations involved by all parties. We had Buuba [who really doesn’t represent anyone other than his belly] referring the courts as Al-Qaeda and rolled out their involvement in the conference. Geedi has more support in Addis than Moqdisho. Ina Yusuf invited PL as a clan entity but he felt short of persuading them. If you look at the big picture, the message is clear. Either with us including Amxaaro or against us. The delegation are not invited to participate in the TFG peace process but rather to support the peace process and whatever TFG led by Amxaaro has in store for Moqdisho and greater Somalia. It's a TFG peace process, not Somalis peace process.

I don't think people should be wasting their time with such token titles and fake names. Malaaq, Ugaas, Garaad, etc are there to solve the minor disputes of their sub clan and have no authority over any clan other than theirs. I don't think such position bring any solution to the real political problems of the country. PL admin has a history of putting such men on their payroll to advance a political agenda. Heck they could appoint a new king if this one opposes the Ethiopian military presence of Mudug and elsewhere let alone respect the title and the position.
