Goormaa kawaanka la saaraa Ina-Qassim, Indha-cade & junior JVA militia? Horn, Would you be nice enough to report how this group go down at the conference given they've held on to victimize most of the South far too long.

peacenow, enjoy this clip.

How about Kissima? The only obstacle is to get Hiiraale on the payroll or delegate the task to his former boss Ina-Qaasim Salaad. Seriously, the gathering place should have been numero uno on the list. Forget about EU & UN for a sec and focus on what is it that’s needed this conference to accomplish? I think Kismaayo would have been a better alternative if TFG & its military might want the gathering to yield tangible results. I don't even think NRC is the correct word choice to describe this futile gathering. Gotta run for Khutba.

^Shinbirayaaloow heesa would be understatement. It was every kids favorite song. This gathering is a hoax to the Somali populace and lacks the capability of producing anything but puts evil warlords in power. Not all parties are involved, not all the core issues of the conflict are included in the agenda or even open for discussion. It reminds me of the movie What about Bob where Dr. Leo calls for family conference and dismisses in a second. The elders deserve the credit for tying and risking their lives in hostile place but at the end of the day, their effort would seem to have made no difference. Mortars kill 6 civilians near Somali peace talks By Guled Mohamed MOGADISHU (Reuters) - Mortar bombs fired by suspected Islamist insurgents missed the venue of a major reconciliation meeting in Somalia but killed six civilians including at least five children, residents said on Thursday. "At least six mortars were fired at the conference. They missed their target and hit Shibiz district. At least five children died. There was also an elderly person who died," resident Abdi Aziz Hussein told Reuters. The death toll could not immediately be verified. Asha Hussein, an aunt of one of the dead children, said a mortar shell detonated near where the youngsters were playing. The conference had earlier resumed amid tight security after explosions echoed across the capital's biggest market in the heaviest fighting in 15 days of non-stop violence. Prime Minister Ali Mohamed Gedi told delegates gathered at a former police compound in northern Mogadishu that Somalia must redress its reputation as a terrorist haven. "We have lost trust. We need to return Somalia's reputation back to the world," Gedi said in a brief speech. A security source said Gedi left the venue before the mortar attack. Somali soldiers, backed by Ethiopian troops, blocked all entry points to the conference venue, which was targeted with mortar bombs during an opening ceremony on Sunday. Hours before the gathering of more than 1,000 delegates, suspected insurgents fired rockets, mortars and grenades at Somali forces patrolling the sprawling Bakara Market in central Mogadishu, following up with machinegun fire for nearly an hour. Australia 'has Iraq oil interest' Australian Defence Minister Brendan Nelson has admitted that securing oil supplies is a key factor behind the presence of Australian troops in Iraq. He said maintaining "resource security" in the Middle East was a priority. But PM John Howard has played down the comments, saying it was "stretching it a bit" to conclude that Australia's Iraq involvement was motivated by oil. The remarks are causing heated debate as the US-led Iraq coalition has avoided linking the war and oil. Oil concerns Australia was involved in the invasion of Iraq in 2003, and has about 1,500 military personnel still deployed in the region. There are no immediate plans to bring them home. In comments to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Mr Nelson admitted that the supply of oil had influenced Australia's strategic planning in the region. "Obviously the Middle East itself, not only Iraq but the entire region, is an important supplier of energy, oil in particular, to the rest of the world," he said. "Australians and all of us need to think what would happen if there were a premature withdrawal from Iraq. "It's in our interests, our security interests, to make sure that we leave the Middle East, and leave Iraq in particular, in a position of sustainable security." This is thought to be the first time the Australian government has admitted any link between troop deployment in Iraq and securing energy resources. But Prime Minister John Howard was quick to play down the significance of his defence minister's comments. "We didn't go there because of oil and we don't remain there because of oil," he told a local radio station. "A lot of oil comes from the Middle East - we all know that - but the reason we remain there is that we want to give the people of Iraq a possibility of embracing democracy," he added. Opposition criticism Opposition politicians, though, have chastised Mr Howard's government over the comments. "This government simply makes it up as it goes along on Iraq," Labor leader Kevin Rudd told reporters. Anti-war protesters say the government's admission proves that the US-led invasion was more of a grab for oil rather than a genuine attempt to uncover weapons of mass destruction. But ministers in Canberra have brushed aside the criticism, saying they remain committed to helping the US stabilise Iraq and combat terrorism. They have also stressed that there will be no "premature withdrawal" of Australian forces from the region. BBC

Somalia presidential spokesman wounded in latest violence MOGADISHU, Somalia June 18 (Garowe Online) - The spokesman for interim Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf was wounded Monday when unidentified gunmen opened fire on his car as it passed by, reliable sources said. Hussein Mohamed "Hubsired" suffered light injuries and is being treated at a Mogadishu hospital run by the African Union Mission in Somalia, official sources said on the condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak on the matter. Hubsired's armed guards exchanged gunfire with the attackers for several minutes before the gunmen fled to evade heavy reinforcements who poured into the area, a witness told Garowe Online. Insurgents linked to an ousted Islamist movement and disgruntled clan fighters have been held responsible for ongoing guerrilla attacks against government and allied targets in Mogadishu and elsewhere. Several officials have been assassinated in recent weeks, including five of Mogadishu’s 16 district commissioners. The failed attack on presidential spokesman Hubsired's life came on a day President Yusuf offered general amnesty to Islamic Courts fighters, excluding militants wanted for terror attacks in Somalia and abroad, according to Monday's presidential degree. Meanwhile, joint Somali-Ethiopian forces continued house-to-house searches in select north Mogadishu neighborhoods and markets, looking for weapons and suspects, residents said. The Somali transitional government is hoping to secure Mogadishu before July 15, when a national reconciliation conference delayed three times already is set to open. Source: Garowe Online

^Forgive me sxb, you're asking me to kill that signature of mine. I'm afraid I can't do that. It helps me show better that you voted for the courts after you voted against them, shorty after you've voted for them. No more no less. No pun intended.

North, That was when he was advocating for the brotherhood of the larger D family and felt a little paranoid about the courts mainly a single clan militarily. Now that brotherhood didn't work out as expected and the paranoia vanished, thanks to Amxaaro tanks, a total change of heart. Not only classic flip-flopper but also qabiilist at that. Horn, While you're too busy digging old reports to prove a futile political point, why don't you dig a bit harder and find the reports of drug lord Indhacade's giving ultimatum to the place holder? What was the headline? Indhacade: Hand over or see you in my office? I understand Hiiraale is in your good books but I don't think anyone would've stood up for this powerless evil dagaal-ooge this long unless one is obliged to turn good. Spill the beans sxb. Tell us about the favorites so we let it go unnoticed, maybe once or twice. Is it a piece of land in a public property or aseendo in Juba Valley area left behind by a bantu? A dream of landing promising job title? What is it? It just can't be for nothing. Back to the topic. What took place in Kismaayo hardly speaks of the success or failure of the ICU or their true political motive of the country. Kismaayo just happened to be in the strategic location all these forces were fighting for. ICU, TFG & Amxaaro all wanted a piece of the city. Horn is just way too emotional to account Hiiraale's lost to control the city as a failure of the courts. Hardly holds any truth. If there had been any failure, it was Hiiraale who failed his boss Indhacade for Ina Yusuf, thus paying a price on his person, position and political ambition. EDIT: I say the man is not worth a penny. Horn, he personally failed you for that Jubaland State you've envisioned. That dreams is long gone. I don't think you should hold the courts responsible for losing the illusive hope of Jubaland State. Ditch the man.

lol@Che, Odaga Horn dhibta ka daa adi nooh. Speaker of Kismaayo populace maad ka xishootid. The irony is that markey maxkamadaha nabad ku soo celiyeen, dumar qaad iyo drug darbiyada la fadhiya ayuu lahaa waa lagu xad gudbay, maanta oo magaalada kufsi iyo dhac ka socdana warkiisa wuxuu ku soo gaabiyey Huuraalaa loo darsaday? Less than 200 berberic moryaan bey magaalada ka dagi la'dahay ee Horn muxuu uga hadli waayey xoogii lagu racdeeyey Af-gaduud in lagu xasilin la'yahay nabada? Back to the topic, kismaayonews qoraalkeeda ma dhameystirna. Fishy waaye meesha qof dumar muluq looga dhigay?
