North; Isn't that what Dubai is all about. You're not really naive to think 'a global destination' museum of three different stages with possibility of 'future expansion' is all a charity work and good welcome to most of its potential visitors, tourists?
-
^lol. What's the most single positive thing that this museum brings other than capital? Up lifts Islamic teachings in Dubai? Promotes Islamic understanding in Dubai? Display of prophets garment, piece of sand or hair? Mohammed was not sent to mankind and be displayed in a museum as art work or historical objects.

Ugly Chelsea? "I made a very unfortunate and insensitive remark. It was the wrong thing to do, and I have no excuse for it.'' -- Senator John McCain, Republican of Arizona, June 11, 1998 (AP Photo/Joe Marquette) McCain was apologizing for telling a Republican fund-raiser that Chelsea Clinton was "so ugly'' because "she's the child of Janet Reno and Hillary Clinton.'' According to "My Bad," he later sent a note to the Clintons. (AP Photo/Paul Sakuma) A joke too bad to print?

Somalia: Puntland Security Minister Resigns - Sources The security minister in Somalia's semiautonomous State of Puntland has handed President Mohamud "Adde" Muse his official resignation papers, inside sources tell Garowe Online. Abdullahi Said Samatar, who was appointed in January, resigned after facing stiff resistance from police commanders and some Cabinet ministers. According to our sources, senior police commanders working at strategic locations in the port city of Bossaso refused to accept Samatar's order to report for training at Armo Police Academy, south of Bossaso. These police commandants' refusal is linked to fear that Samatar aimed to replace them at their jobs if they reported to Armo, the sources added. People who know Samatar well described him as a man with advanced knowledge of police operations, with plans to improve the Puntland police force from the officer level to commanders. But he has faced resistance from the region's security establishment since his appointment nearly two months ago, including from police chief Abdiaziz Ga'amey who rejected Samatar's past attempts to replace several commanders. Further, Puntland Intelligence Service (PIS) director Osman "Diana" Abdullahi has steadfastly refused to come under the jurisdiction of not only the Puntland Ministry of Security, but even the Somali federal government as a whole, sources said. Mr. Diana reportedly told Ministry of Security officials that PIS comes under the direct authority of the American government, with sources linking his comment to CIA funding for the PIS. Puntland government sources tell Garowe Online that domestic pressure that caused Samatar's resignation originated from Finance Minister Mohamed "Gaagaab" Ali, who opposed Samatar's appointment to the Cabinet from the beginning. Mr. Gaagaab refused attempts to establish a separate budget for the Ministry of Security, which was designed to be independent of the Finance Ministry he leads. Other sources pointed to Gaagaab's close relations with senior security officials leading the mutiny against Samatar's Ministry of Security. Clan elders have held talks with Samatar in an attempt to reverse his decision to resign, but no reports emerged from that meeting. Meanwhile, President Muse formally accepted Samatar's resignation Monday evening, sources said. The Puntland government is expected to organize and hold presidential elections next January, but critics say the government has been crippled by overt corruption, nepotism and a weak leader. The region's security has gradually deteriorated during the rule of the current administration, with organized crime activities including piracy, kidnappings and human trafficking on the rise. Source

1 in 4 teen girls has sexually transmitted disease. Virus that causes cervical cancer most common, government study finds. CHICAGO - At least one in four teenage girls nationwide has a sexually transmitted disease, or more than 3 million teens, according to the first study of its kind in this age group. A virus that causes cervical cancer is by far the most common sexually transmitted infection in teen girls aged 14 to 19, while the highest overall prevalence is among black girls — nearly half the blacks studied had at least one STD. That rate compared with 20 percent among both whites and Mexican-American teens, the study from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found. About half of the girls acknowledged ever having sex; among them, the rate was 40 percent. While some teens define sex as only intercourse, other types of intimate behavior including oral sex can spread some infections. For many, the numbers likely seem “overwhelming because you’re talking about nearly half of the sexually experienced teens at any one time having evidence of an STD,” said Dr. Margaret Blythe, an adolescent medicine specialist at Indiana University School of Medicine and head of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ committee on adolescence. But the study highlights what many doctors who treat teens see every day, Blythe said. Dr. John Douglas, director of the CDC’s division of STD prevention, said the results are the first to examine the combined national prevalence of common sexually transmitted diseases among adolescent girls. He said the data, from 2003-04, likely reflect current rates of infection. “High STD rates among young women, particularly African-American young women, are clear signs that we must continue developing ways to reach those most at risk,” Douglas said. The CDC’s Dr. Kevin Fenton said given that STDs can cause infertility and cervical cancer in women, “screening, vaccination and other prevention strategies for sexually active women are among our highest public health priorities.” HPV most common The study by CDC researcher Dr. Sara Forhan is an analysis of nationally representative data on 838 girls who participated in a 2003-04 government health survey. Teens were tested for four infections: human papillomavirus, or HPV, which can cause cervical cancer and affected 18 percent of girls studied; chlamydia, which affected 4 percent; trichomoniasis, 2.5 percent; and herpes simplex virus, 2 percent. Blythe said the results are similar to previous studies examining rates of those diseases individually. The results were prepared for release Tuesday at a CDC conference in Chicago on preventing sexually transmitted diseases. HPV can cause genital warts but often has no symptoms. A vaccine targeting several HPV strains recently became available, but Douglas said it likely has not yet had much impact on HPV prevalence rates in teen girls. Chlamydia and trichomoniasis can be treated with antibiotics. The CDC recommends annual chlamydia screening for all sexually active women under age 25. It also recommends the three-dose HPV vaccine for girls aged 11-12 years, and catch-up shots for females aged 13 to 26. The American Academy of Pediatrics has similar recommendations. Douglas said screening tests are underused in part because many teens don’t think they’re at risk, but also, some doctors mistakenly think, ’“Sexually transmitted diseases don’t happen to the kinds of patients I see.”’ Blythe said some doctors also are reluctant to discuss STDs with teen patients or offer screening because of confidentiality concerns, knowing parents would have to be told of the results. The American Academy of Pediatrics supports confidential teen screening, she said. MSNBC

Why can't I find a word in the article of Ethiopia's involvement in Somali affairs and its atrocities in Somali cities? The present-day Somali people have obviously abandoned their ancient custom of good neighborly relations and peaceful coexistence. They may have a Somali complexion or look like a Somali. But most of them are not normal human beings. They are monsters and cold-blooded murderers of the worst type. Killing innocent persons and taking their properties is lawful for them. Invading other people’s land and occupying it is legal for them . A live example of territories suffering under the worst kind of occupation is Sool in the North and Kismayo in the South. Who is the author?

One less super delegate for Hillary. Hillary Clinton's Spitzer Problem By Peter Baker For a supporter, New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer sure hasn't done Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton any favors lately. After all, it was Spitzer who in the view of her advisers started the slide that led her to where she is today, fighting from behind for the Democratic presidential nomination. A question about his proposal to let illegal immigrants get driver's licenses tripped her up in a debate at the end of October and ended 10 months of unquestioned dominance in the nomination race. Now, his apparent involvement with a prostitution ring has not only distracted from her efforts to take down the front-runner, Sen. Barack Obama, it has brought back unhelpful memories of her own husband's dalliances in office. There on cable television again were pictures of Bill Clinton hugging Monica Lewinsky. And the image of Spitzer's wife standing painfully by his side while he acknowledged unspecified wrongdoing could not help but remind some viewers, and voters, of Hillary Clinton's own stand-by-her-man moment. How this will all play out remains unclear, of course. Spitzer chose not to step down yesterday in the face of some pretty sordid allegations, much as Bill Clinton resisted calls for his resignation in 1998 after news of his trysts with the onetime White House intern, which can only guarantee that the story will live on for a while, particularly in the hungry vortex of cable television, talk radio and the Internet. It may be that most voters long ago discounted Bill Clinton's infidelities when making their minds up about his wife's qualifications for president. It may be that voters conclude that Spitzer's indiscretions have nothing at all to do with whether Hillary Clinton can effectively serve as president. And it may be that Spitzer ultimately does resign, allowing the political dialogue to move on. Yet this certainly is not the way Clinton's strategists would have mapped out this week on the campaign trail. They want voters to be thinking about that 3 a.m. phone call in terms of who is ready to handle a crisis in the White House, not in terms of where an unfaithful husband might be catting around town. And, sure enough, the late-night comedians wasted little time linking the Spitzer case to the Clintons. Jay Leno joked last night that Spitzer's scandal "means Hillary Clinton is now only the second angriest woman in the state of New York." David Letterman offered a Top 10 List of excuses Spitzer might cite, including the number one excuse: "I thought Bill Clinton legalized this years ago." Hillary Clinton was asked about the case late yesterday and, predictably enough, tried to brush it off without comment. "I obviously send my best wishes to the governor and his family," she told reporters. Still, it is hard to imagine that will be the last time she is asked about it. She could hardly want to be there on camera, once again being asked to account for yet another man in her life who can't live up to his marriage vows. And what will Bill Clinton say if and when he is asked to comment? Spitzer has been a bad-luck charm for Hillary Clinton to this point. His illegal immigrant driver's license proposal arguably became the first time she was thrown off her stride in this campaign. Fairly or not, her muddled answer at a debate in Philadelphia about whether she supported it or not played into a narrative promoted by her opponents that she is more about calculation than principle. That led to a bad patch for her that lasted all the way through the Iowa caucuses. Her advisers pinpoint that inartful two-minute answer as the moment when the race turned. Now Spitzer may throw her off stride again at a moment she needs to keep her momentum going. And on top of that, even if he does spare her by resigning soon, that has a cost too -- one fewer superdelegate for her at the convention. Washingtonpost -
It would have been much better if it were the Library of the Prophet instead of a museum. The life of the prophet is full of examples that are not suitable for capital gain. This museum would open doors to the kind of attractions Muslims can't really afford to have in this day and age. Terrible idea.

He played ethical governor but at least he wasn't caught in men's toilet. His political career is gone. He's gotta resign soon.

Lazyie, you forgot to add the following. Hillary has a 'life time of experiece' including bringing peace in northern Ireland & the Middle East. All those experiences just by living in the white house and not having a security clearance to national security matters. Obama is not yet ready to be president but would make a great vice president in August. John McCain is better qualified as Commander in Cheif than Obama. -

Che: Ishaad ka tuurtay. Grown men spur on a sense of hope, accomplishment and freedom on false report of Yeey being slapped. How is this gone better Moqdisho residents and get Amxaaro out given such reporting is true? Talk about a manifestation of ignorance. Yeey got violated by Ethiopian general? So what? Yeey's being assaulted, smacked or raped? Does that really change the tragedy of Somalia? Who the hell cares about what goes on between a master and his servant? What good does that do for the average Somali in the occupied territory? Why marginalize the whole country being under Amxaaro control to a mere hand slap? If your concern is valid, Ethiopia abuses Somali women and children everyday. Those are the ones that need their voices heard, not a rat of their own. Each of these grown men stand behind dabodhilif other than Yeey. What difference does it make to stand behind a slave of Amxaaro over anther slave? Yeey is responsible for the death and destruction of innocent Somali. So is Riyaale, Huuraale and Qeydiid. Yet some of us are on the record embracing and justifying their love for Ethiopian troops. How are you any different than Yeey or his supporters for that matter? Hate him or not, you're just like him or worst if you stand behind another clown that's on Amxaaro payroll. Take off the munaafaqnimo glass and see things for what they are.

Model, rights campaigner missing BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) -- Waris Dirie, a former model turned women's rights campaigner, has gone missing in Brussels, her manager said Friday. She has not been seen since the early hours of Wednesday morning, when police saw her getting into a taxi after a mix-up over a hotel room, Walter Lutschinger said in a telephone interview. "We are really very scared," he said, adding that nothing similar had happened in the seven years in which he has been her manager. Somali-born Dirie gained international fame as a model posing in Chanel ads and acting in a James Bond film before launching her campaign against female genital mutilation in 1996. She recounted her own experiences of such treatment as a child in the book "Desert Flower," which became an international best-seller. Dirie's disappearance came a week after French police said they had found the body of another former model of African origin who had campaigned against female genital mutilation. Guinean-born Katoucha Niane was discovered floating in the River Seine in Paris. The French police said an autopsy showed no signs of foul play, raising the possibility that she may have fallen accidentally into the river. Belgian police have launched an official missing persons appeal for Dirie, asking the public for information. The police, who gave her name as Waris Dahir Jones, said the 43-year-old was last seen outside a luxury hotel in downtown Brussels. They said she was wearing brown pants, a violet hat and a black-and-white poncho-style jacket. They said they were also looking for the taxi driver who took her from the area between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. Dirie, who now lives in Vienna, was due to speak to two conferences on women's rights organized by the European Union in Brussels this week, including one Thursday attended by U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Lutschinger said Dirie had been involved in an altercation in a hotel reception area after a taxi driver took her to the wrong branch of the Sofitel hotel chain following a visit to a night club. The police were called and drove Dirie around Brussels looking for the correct hotel because she had apparently forgotten where she was staying. At one hotel, while staff and police were checking for her name on a computer, Lutschinger said police told him that Dirie walked out and climbed into a taxi that drove away. He said hotel staff told him Dirie had said she was going to buy cigarettes. Lutschinger said he thought she was carrying little money and no identification documents or cell phone when she vanished. As far as he knew, she had no friends in Brussels -- a city Lutschinger said she had only visited once before. "No telephone calls, nothing; she disappeared and we have no idea what happened to her," he said. "We don't know if she had money because actually she doesn't take money, or has little money with her, because we are always traveling with her." EU officials said they had expressed concern when she did not show up Thursday at the conference and had been in touch with the police, but they had not had any news of Dirie's whereabouts. Dirie is an Austrian citizen. "Our embassy in Brussels is in close cooperation with the Brussels police and state prosecutor ... they are trying to clarify the situation," said Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal, a spokesman for Austria's Foreign Ministry in Vienna. The U.N. office in Brussels said they had no information about where she might be. Dirie was due to travel to the Netherlands to receive an award for her campaigning on Friday in the town of Kerkrade. Dirie's description of how she had to endure having her genitals sliced off with a dirty razor blade without anesthesia, and then stitched together, shocked a world that knew her from glossy fashion magazine covers, Chanel perfume ads and her role in "The Living Daylights," a 1987 James Bond film. She chronicled her own experience in "Desert Flower" and three sequels, "Desert Dawn," "Desert Children" and "Nomad's Daughter." She served as a U.N. goodwill ambassador to fight the practice. "There are millions of children -- young, hopeless, desperate -- who need help, a voice, somebody, somewhere," she told The Associated Press in a 2005 interview. Source: CNN

^Easy sis. Calm down nooh. You can decline to answer but please don't go into talk of adaab now. It was never a good adaab to question or doubt the prayers of over a billion Muslims for Palestine since its early days of destruction. Dua is tied to one's emaan, believing in the unseen and raising the hands up and pleading with Allah to chance the course of situation.

Internet commercial ads or sponsored links as they call them, are taking over many of the my favorite sites. Obviously, there's money to be generated, service to be made available and line needs to be drawn. Not too long ago, a popular Islamic website devoted for Islamic literature had few commercial links of bible study sessions and other uninteresting ads. Are these ads sort of random and appear out of no where or do webmasters actually have no control over the content of the advertisement?
