Explains some Indian's calm and quite self control demeanor even in heated telemarketing phone calls. Show hadii Soomaalida saan loo duulduulin lahaa our attaction for war and violence would have been minimal. Anigu waxaan oran oday Cabdulaahi and his governmental bodies should participate this ritual.

USA Today U.S. has Mandela on terrorist list WASHINGTON — Nobel Peace Prize winner and international symbol of freedom Nelson Mandela is flagged on U.S. terrorist watch lists and needs special permission to visit the USA. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice calls the situation "embarrassing," and some members of Congress vow to fix it. The requirement applies to former South African leader Mandela and other members of South Africa's governing African National Congress (ANC), the once-banned anti-Apartheid organization. In the 1970s and '80s, the ANC was officially designated a terrorist group by the country's ruling white minority. Other countries, including the United States, followed suit. Because of this, Rice told a Senate committee recently, her department has to issue waivers for ANC members to travel to the USA. "This is a country with which we now have excellent relations, South Africa, but it's frankly a rather embarrassing matter that I still have to waive in my own counterpart, the foreign minister of South Africa, not to mention the great leader Nelson Mandela," Rice said. Rep. Howard Berman, D-Calif., chairman of the House International Relations Committee, is pushing a bill that would remove current and former ANC leaders from the watch lists. Supporters hope to get it passed before Mandela's 90th birthday July 18. "What an indignity," Berman said. "The ANC set an important example: It successfully made the change from armed struggle to peace. We should celebrate the transformation." In 1990, Mandela was freed after 27 years in prison for crimes committed during the struggle against Apartheid, a repressive regime that subjugated black South Africans. In 1994, he was elected South Africa's first black president. Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H., called ANC members' inclusion on watch lists a "bureaucratic snafu" and pledged to fix the problem. Members of other groups deemed a terrorist threat, such as Hamas, also are on the watch lists. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff says "common sense" suggests Mandela should be removed. He says the issue "raises a troubling and difficult debate about what groups are considered terrorists and which are not." When ANC members apply for visas to the USA, they are flagged for questioning and need a waiver to be allowed in the country. In 2002, former ANC chairman Tokyo Sexwale was denied a visa. In 2007, Barbara Masekela, South Africa's ambassador to the United States from 2002 to 2006, was denied a visa to visit her ailing cousin and didn't get a waiver until after the cousin had died, Berman's legislation says.

Al Jazeera Somebody sold him out. They were precise with their strike. NY Times wrote this. Mr. Ayro had recently gone to Dhusamareb with a band of his fighters to help set up a local administration. But clan elders rejected him, said Mohammed Uluso, a leader of the *** clan, because the elders “didn’t want to mix up their legitimate goals with something suspicious.” That might have been part of Mr. Ayro’s undoing, because Somali officials said that people in Dhusamareb provided American forces with up-to-the-minute intelligence on Mr. Ayro’s movements. Mr. Uluso said Mr. Ayro was small and thin and looked like “a high school student, not this big guy the Americans were after.” Mr. Uluso said he thinks the Shebab will continue to be a potent resistance force even after Mr. Ayro’s death because many young Somalis see the Shebab as a “heroic cause” in terms of standing up to the Americans. (Shebab is the Arabic word for youth.)

Nephy: What's the problem. I thought that was a fair and balanced view of what Che was being shot at. After all, we all do blanket condemnation at times.
-
Che: I'm neither but apparently that doesn't count. Welcome to my world buddy. By portraying yourself as possible Puntlander, many would argue you're hosting crimes and criminals in your face. You butchered Somalinimo when one [adeerkaa] introduced dictatorship while the other [adeerkaa] brought jabhad to a beatiful country with promosing future. And that's not the end of it. There's always the line of, but [adeerkaa] brought Amxaaro. No other qof did that. This speaks volume on the division and disunity Somalis find themselve in. Not too long ago, a school mate of mine [whom I don't know of his qabiil] and I were dining in a resturant. Three nomads came and sat table next to us. Usual fadhi ku dirir started and the conversation got heated. My friends and I are just observing and listening while laughing at times. One of them got very upset and emotional and said, "Ma dadkaasaa i leedahay waa Soomaali, waa Amxaar, gaalo-madoow, in la laayo istaahila" in louder tone. The look on his face could kill someone. That's how mad he was. The others disagreed and reminded him Somalis are mostly Muslims if not all. A short while later, one of them turned to us and said, "Waxaan nahay reer hebel. Idinku yaad tihiin?" "We're of the same branch," My friend replied. Did I tell you the fun part of it all? They paid for our dinner. A little hostile fadhi ku dirir but a free dinner! I am not complaining. How lovely my people are!

I too don't think they have a political stance or vision and a sense of direction not to mention a sound strategy. I think their tactics and military ways will only increase the division and undermine the work of Sh. Shariif and any viable negotiations. We'd be lucky if they don't get up one day and start giving ultimatum and unreasonable demands. The road to Ethiopian presence out of the country is not through Shabaab baasukas. It's by sitting down and start talking to one another. That way, no more exploitation of disunity and clan difference. They're as much of a threat to the solution formula as beerlaawe & xaraan-ku-naax. I hope the courts leadership will soon realize these forces need to be contained and given a sense of direction and working plan. Before it's too late. Before the birth of another indhacade.

^What part of it don't you get? Puntlanders are just as much guilty of Yeey's crimes so just so they share a common blood, interest and purpose to damn Moqdisho inhabitants. BTW, our brothers up north killed this logic to death. We used to say Soomaaliya Soomaali baa leh. I think now we should practice saying Soomaaliya Soomaali baa burburisay.

Lesbos Residents Sue Gay Group Over Using The Term "Lesbian" ATHENS, Greece — A Greek court has been asked to draw the line between the natives of the Aegean Sea island of Lesbos and the world's gay women. Three islanders from Lesbos _ home of the ancient poet Sappho, who praised love between women _ have taken a gay rights group to court for using the word lesbian in its name. One of the plaintiffs said Wednesday that the name of the association, Homosexual and Lesbian Community of Greece, "insults the identity" of the people of Lesbos, who are also known as Lesbians. "My sister can't say she is a Lesbian," said Dimitris Lambrou. "Our geographical designation has been usurped by certain ladies who have no connection whatsoever with Lesbos," he said. The three plaintiffs are seeking to have the group barred from using "lesbian" in its name and filed a lawsuit on April 10. The other two plaintiffs are women. Also called Mytilene, after its capital, Lesbos is famed as the birthplace of Sappho. The island is a favored holiday destination for gay women, particularly the lyric poet's reputed home town of Eressos. "This is not an aggressive act against gay women," Lambrou said. "Let them visit Lesbos and get married and whatever they like. We just want (the group) to remove the word lesbian from their title." He said the plaintiffs targeted the group because it is the only officially registered gay group in Greece to use the word lesbian in its name. The case will be heard in an Athens court on June 10. Sappho lived from the late 7th to the early 6th century B.C. and is considered one of the greatest poets of antiquity. Many of her poems, written in the first person and intended to be accompanied by music, contain passionate references to love for other women. Lambrou said the word lesbian has only been linked with gay women in the past few decades. "But we have been Lesbians for thousands of years," said Lambrou, who publishes a small magazine on ancient Greek religion and technology that frequently criticizes the Christian Church. Very little is known of Sappho's life. According to some ancient accounts, she was an aristocrat who married a rich merchant and had a daughter with him. One tradition says that she killed herself by jumping off a cliff over an unhappy love affair. Lambrou says Sappho was not gay. "But even if we assume she was, how can 250,000 people of Lesbian descent _ including women _ be considered homosexual?" The Homosexual and Lesbian Community of Greece could not be reached for comment.

^Maxaad abtiyoow il la raacday. The keyword is 'guursanaya'. How does she know he's not after il-nuursi.

^No despair. Hillary's chances are diminishing by the day. She has lost a large block of the democratic voters, especially the blacks when she started doing the work of McWar. Obama is known for turning the tide to his advantage. He's got twice as much superdelegate endorsement than her since Tuesday.
-
^I think you should deliver that message in person.
-
^One is bringing pain to Moqdisho. The other is aiding and abetting the means of delivering the pain. My President's allies are killing my people. Isn't that what Gadafi of Libiya said of the Bosnia war?

^So did the Americans, Belgium and French during the Operation Restore Hope. Remember! Originally posted by Abu_Geeljire: The title of this thread implies that that the entire SOmalis Islamists have suddenly stopped their missions against Ethiopians to only attack Somalis, and know your backtracking by saying that article implies two things! Your accusatory cries never end. I cooked the title? I took the quote out of context? What's more to come? I hate them so much I published the article? Again, it's your understanding and interpetation. The article does not contain the words entire or stopped. These are your own words, not mine, not the author. No problem for people to misread the news and develop their own ideas. I'm for peace and no more geeljire death. Does that satisfy for an answer? should your toolka , home-town or cousins be immune from such actions? I just met the guy online. I hardly know him and no he's not my cousin. Sure you can do whatever you want with him but I'm for peace so please don't harm him.

^You shouldn't have to explain yourself. People tent to play ignorant when it's disadvantage to their argument. Another Somali tragedy. Alloow u naxariiso inta geeriyootay.

xiinfaniin: No you didn't. Have you not a sense of decency and dignity. How dare you suggest to sit with dabodhilifs to compromise and give in. How dare! You son of Adam! Good advice mate. But it would interesting to watch you convince geeljireyaal and other Amxaaro backers up north.

A better question is why is it Somalis are so attracted to violence and war everywhere? Why can't Riyaale admin & and his opponents see the common good of the people? Put your difference aside for once and embrace the need for lasting peace and stability.
-
^Why is it your buddies can't seem to say that with straight face.
-
^I knew that boowe lingo would threw you off. My exact thought. Next time I'll utilize Banaadir one. I'm the last person to offer welcoming words to PL admin especially Cadde & Gaagaab but I'm not the type of person to condemn for the sake of popularity or acceptance. I read these reports and make my own judgement. No need to agree with someone out of validation or something else. Midkoo geeljire ahaa ayaan dhexdaas ila daga galay admit you're against Amxaaro shelling on civilians. Admit you're not dabodhilif. I should've told him I'm also against geeljire politicking. I could be wrong but you remind me of such character. Cool off sxb. No one is out to get you.

^Ain't that also your own interpretation Let's not kill the messenger. For everyone that reads the passage, they'll see two individuals in the same movement suggesting two things; increasing attacks on the Ethiopian, the other, launching attacks targeting, not Ethiopians army but the Somali government. Why do I have a feeling you're dismissing one over the other? Isn't that's all the article is really saying. One Shiekh of the group is after the Ethiopians while the other Sheikh is interested in attacking Somalis working with Ethiopians.
-
^I suggest you direct your questions and concerns to the website or better the person named in the article. I'm not in a position to place an interpretation for that quotation but if you feel you're, go right ahead and tell us what the Sheikh has in his mind or heart he needed to say but come out different.
-
It's all in your head son. I neither denied nor confirmed anything and I have yet to share any views of this matter. I don't also get riddled up each time someone disagrees or an opposing report shows up. Boowe barasho ka hor ha i nicin as my people, Somalis say it. BTW, here's another one dismissing yours.

^Go on. Read line four, the quote by Sheikh Isse.

Somalia: Tensions High in Somaliland Capital Following Violent Riots Police forces in the capital of Somalia's separatist state of Somaliland clashed with hundreds of angry rioters on Sunday, prompting opposition parties to condemn the government for using "excessive force" against civilians. In a joint press communiqué, Somaliland opposition parties Kulmiye and UCID condemned the breakaway region's government for the "ugly and excessive use of force against civilians," adding that the episode showed the residents of Hargeisa that the "current government is more merciless than that of [former Somali President] Siad Barre." The harsh criticism from the opposition parties was issued a day after Hargeisa police opened gunfire on rioters, who were reportedly burning tires and throwing stones at officers. At least two civilians were confirmed dead and more than 10 police officers wounded, sources told Garowe Online. Local newspapers reported that the protestors initially began their demonstration in opposition to the Hargeisa city council's decision to add three new districts to the Somaliland capital and rename one district in the southern quarter of the city. But as more protestors joined the demonstration, rioting began and protestors expressed their dissatisfaction with a range of issues, from President Dahir Riyale's controversial one-year term extension to the sky-high prices for food and gas. The rioters were eventually convinced to return to their homes after Air Transport Minister Ali Waranadde read aloud an official document signed by Interior Minister Abdullahi "Irro" Ismail. According to the Interior Minister's letter, the Hargeisa city council's decision to create three new districts was "illegal," citing that the Interior Ministry was not informed before the decision was taken. But growing dissatisfaction with the Riyale administration is not limited to the public. On Monday, Hargeisa-based independent newspaper Jamhuuriya reported that lawmakers in the Somaliland parliament's upper chamber, the House of Guurti, had "threatened each other with pistols." A group of dissident House of Guurti legislators wanted to introduce a motion rescinding President Riyale's one-year term extension, which was overwhelmingly approved by the House of Guurti earlier this month. But the acting chairman of the Guurti, Sheikh Ahmed Sheikh Nuh, told the dissident lawmakers that the motion will first have to be studied and approved by the House's legal counsel before being debated on the parliament floor. His comment immediately sparked anger inside the parliament and eventually led to legislators throwing fists at each other. Outside parliament, legislators continued to exchange heated words regarding President Riyale's term extension, a development that has generated public anger and condemnation from the opposition parties. One dissident legislator, MP Awil Hussein Ahmed, told Jamhuuriya that Second Deputy Speaker Said Jama Ali pulled a gun on him while at a hotel. "The parliament leaders are acting in such a way today that they pull a gun out on anyone who speaks [his mind]," MP Awil told Jamhuuriya. Somaliland, composed of Somalia's northwestern regions, unilaterally declared independence from the rest of the country in 1991 after a decade of armed struggle against the government of Somali dictator Siad Barre. No country has recognized Somaliland as an independent state, although the separatist republic has its own government, currency, flag and security forces.
