How intelligent of you to generalise for a whole culture. Just because, some people follow a certain evil pratice in a culture, doesnt mean everyone in the culture follows that practice. WTH? CONGRATZ Thanks to everyone that answered my question, especially those people who made the inappapriate comments, because you have made me realise its way better for me to marry my own kind. From what I've heard, from just a minority of some somali guys on here portrays to me clearly how some somali guys are personality-wise. I think its a good thing (no offense to the good somali guys) that some people here have literally managed to put me off 100% from marrying a somali guy. WOW, Some guys in snother race just made me realise how guys in my race are the most suitable and best choice for me to marry. THANKS

Clearly, some people are acting like Im attacking them verbally with this thread when that is not the case. Some useful comments were made and some totally irrevelant ones. I wanted to discuss this high divorce rate matter and it seems like it has turned into a debate! Just goes to show how humble, mature and thoughtful some people on this forum are.

This post just says what I've heard about somalis. I was wondering what other somalis have to say about this. Anyway, yes I do want to know more about somali culture.

Indhoos When I say that comment, Im not refering to any other posts. I obtained that information from just some somalian people I've spoken to. Anyway, in my culture, the divorce rate for muslims is very low. Divorce is pratically unheard of.

Im just making a point that I love my culture pakistani and I want to remain 100% pakistani and not change even one bit culture-wise. To be honest, no I don't have a clue what somali culture is about and Im actually trying to find out. I would like to be knowledgeable about other muslims' culture.

I was talking to a good somali friend that I know well. She is married and she was going on about how she wants to be able to support her family financially so thats why she is studying now. I said to her well, you shouldnt worry about providing the money for your family, in islam, it is the husbands duty to provide for his family financially. Then she stated that, her relationship with her husband is going well now but he could divorce her one day. She also said it is common for somalis to divorce. So is there a high divorce rate amongst somalis? If the divorce rate is high amongst somalis, why is the divorce rate so high because apparently the divorce rate has increased alot for somalis since the past! If this is not true, I apologise, please dont take offence in any way.

Im a 100% proud pure pakistani. I wouldnt want to fit into any other culture, let alone somali culture!

Ibtisam My culture is pakistani, Im sure you know lots about this culture and what the men are like in it.

Lt-Qalbi-Adeyg Mmmmmmm, I know we pakistani muslims dont even use deodrant, that is true because we wash anyway 6 times a day ( shower in the morning & making wudu). DUH! Not that you'd know about washing 5 times a day as Im pretty damn sure your not a practising muslim. Do you know what at least I can say, Im 100% proud to be pakistani!!!
