  1. Has the U.N issued any directive regarding the lifting of the Arms embargo?
  2. Listen to the BBC instead of inserting unreliable tribal sites.

  4. Code, I wasn't surprised of the silence alone but the attempt to openly deny and falsify the incident and even the armed clash between the groups in conflict. If Parliamentarians, including the defense minister, speak out of the seething state, then there is no time left for them to be silent. My own interpretation is that it is one thing that they prefer keeping it under control in order to mislead others through inaccuracy or denial of its existence with an ulterior motive. It is another that reporting it would refuel the conflict thus exacerbating the clan tension over the invasion. The Elders have already issued an ultimatum to pull their militia out of territories they illegally entered but it has been ignored so far.
  5. Thanks Horn Afrique, That is a clear sign of the gravity of the situation. If Puntland media has ignored so far it would only increase their unreliability and one-sided news.
  6. Codetalker The gravity of this issue is not news to me. There have been pending negotiations between Sanaag administration and Puntland since last year regarding resource management, share agreements and most importantly a direct negotiation with the company itself, but nothing fruitful came out of it and Adde has been very reluctant to respect the owners. His main suspicion is that there are local politicians and experts who are working with the Soamliland administration on this issue but that is an outright excuse to attack the region through the mobilization of various segments. The only ad hoc administration that Sanaag has allied with and supported ever since is Pun land until warlord Adde made it open his belligerence onto Reer Sanaag. Mediawise nothing can be hidden and normally there will be exaggerations in every news media . Nonetheless, I don't think that Sanaag Media would report false news, particularly news from their own regions. Adde is definitely geared to controlling the areas containing the mineral resources with which Puntland has entered a unanimous agreement with RAnge Resources LTD to embark on explorations. War is a last resort and our people would try anything to maintain peace and brotherhood.
  7. Suldaan, of course , Ceel afwayn is in Sanaag and they are reer Sanaag. I think you have been politically influenced by Somaliland, which is another clannish administration. I don't live alone in Eastern Sanaag. That is just a political and geographical mishap from your part. Is Erigavo an eastern Sanaag or the corner of Sanaag near Maydh. I own East, West, South and Central of Sanaag, in Other words, my territories reach beyond Nugal region. I have never supported Abdilaahi Yusuf. When the two men were in locked in armed conflict over the control of Puntland, I simply refused to be part of their feuds by keeping their problems off my territory. Does that constitute a one-sided support against ADDe, definitely not? If you are also aware of Al-Itihadad group led by Sheikh AWeis, the Strongman of Islamic Court in Mogadisho today, after their defeat in Bossaso, they fled to Sanaag ,esp the tortuous and mountainous areas. It is this incident that General Ducaale was killed in an Ambush for fear that he will challenge them, thus assuming no one else who would come forward and challenge them withdraw their militias out of the region. It was General Ilkajiir, a highly soviet trained General and once an assistant defense minister of Mohammed Ali Samatar, who immediately flew from Virgninia and ousted them by firstly issuing an advance warning and an opportunity to hand themselves over. They were dismantled based on their respective clans and sent to the regions they came from. The independent nature of Sanaag people Is rooted in history that even the colonials were very careful about meddling our own regions and affairs. Ps. Pay attention to the quotes i put on that statement of my 1st post, drawing a picture of an inner belief that Adde bears against the people of Sanaag, Not my words if you thought so. Read btw the line
  8. ^^ Aren't you disturbed by the consequences of such a consistent and undiluted hatred of him? Look at what he has done so far: He knowingly undermined their representatives or any effort to help their region get the attention they need such as public services since the International Community work in close liaison with the region through Puntland, and he publicly insulted them in a dehumanizing aspect. His public misconduct and bravado are beyond belief. Even the unthinking warlords in Mogadisho know of their limits. He is still adamant to pursue the self-interest of his tribal fiefdom by exploiting the natural resources of the land whose people he treated this way, through an intransigeant approach and perhaps force. Emergency Meeting
  9. Nevertheless whatever necessary it takes to avoid the vendetta of Warlord Cadde and his malevolent intent on people of Sanaag and West Bari The man is really under the illusion of being a great and invincible Warlord. I believe his rebellion, against the organized army he is now in charge of and which has been vouchsafed to him by his predecessor and forefathers(Current TFG MP), and of which he drew most of his support from his sub-clan and people of Waaciye District in order to carve out a notoriety for himself, best illustrates of why he is so malevolent and narrow-minded to wage a propaganda war and a security threat to a one segment of the people that founded Puntland. "If people of Sanaag and West Bari couldn't provide a safe haven for my defeated rebels in Sanaag, in addition to aiding and abetting my rival Abdilahi Yusuf, It is therefore an inexorable sweep of time and fortune for me to avenge and vindicate myself as the second self-declared strongman and most feared warlord in the region. I will use power, puppets, ****** , colonels and even their own people to complete what I couldn't finish last time." Bravo Adde, let us see where that takes you then. I hope we should look at the problems of draught that beset our country nationwide.
  10. "The Council also reiterated the need for a rapid finalization of an agreed national security and stabilization plan, including a comprehensive and verifiable ceasefire agreement, as well as plans to restore public safety and security institutions and to implement disarmament, demobilization and reintegration." Any person can understand the message of the U.N and its resolute position to work towards the restoration of "disarmament, demobilization and reintegration" reintegraton = restoring the unity of all Somalis. Thanks Soo Maal
  11. The rambling and ranting of conspiracy and favoritism derived from kinship ties are to many a psychological healing to their life. Is there no avoiding that many of us have found themselves in this situation? Is there no avoiding that we boast of emptiness? There is no avoiding as long as we keep supporting the warlords. They should be held in contempt and caged in a solitary life where they have no one to contact and lead. Our youth can transform the society by leading an example similar to the Somali Youth League who had led a campaign to hide their Qabiil other than being a Somali and who had led a campaign to be ashamed of clannish exclusiveness. You should be related to what family you are born to in spirit and in financial support but that shouldn’t be used to advance exclusiveness, hostility, subordination, or ignorance and arrogance. What ever is built on Qabiil will collapse regardless of how long it sustains itself. History has proved that Qabiil will take you no where but only to the path that barbarians of millennia ago took, case in point HUNS tribe.
  12. They all are the same whether General Cadde , Mohammed Dheere . They have no principle and probity, respect or understanding of their words. In other words, they are all warlords. What personal quality does one have over another? We only support those warlords we think are associated to us and censure those warlords who turn against our warlords. How contradictory!

  14. Red Sea, Don't feel guilty of posting an important topic. This is an important topic and one that will expose an evil man's inner intent and hatred to the public. As it appears, unscrupulous men will be protected by their ilk for whatever they utter or do.
  15. SOO MAAL First, I do not see a grain of intellectual content in his words but a picture of a rogue man submerged with manifest weaknesses. I find your sharing of sentiments with him strange. He labeled these regions with his fanatic and unprincipled manners as being regions plagued with the worst humanitarian condition and whose learned people are indolent and egocentric to the point of being indifferent to the great sufferings of their own people. There is no doubt that he holds deep grudges for the people of Sanaag, for, this is not the first time he has manifested his true colors. Attempting to find the sources of such loathsome views of him objectively, it appears there are justifiable reasons for his acerbic intentions both in words and in actions. Have you asked yourself his denial of the success of the people who created a core around which the survival of the community has depended upon ever since our country descended into civil war? The region boasts of unparalleled stability, better schools, communication, utility, and hospitals with modern facilities and very qualified MDs who had sacrificed better-paying jobs just to serve their own community. Have you asked why he forgot to mention Fatima Jibrell, the environmentalist Goldman Prize winner, whose relief organization had done remarkable humanitarian work not only in her community but also for his community? On top of that, Horn Relief is the only relief Org. to embark on a Cash Relief Program which fairly distributed an estimated 1 Million dollar to people affected by the Sool Plateau draught. Does he forgot that Sanaagians control major Industrialized firms that now operate around Bossaso and Hargeisa. Or is he wrongly informed of the diversity of the Bossaso and its booming port as though his people make up the preponderance? If he is blind of the nobler contribution of Reer Sanaag from the Diaspora then he is truly transmogrified by his birthplace. Sanaag people are conscious of their civic duty to protect their environment from being exploited and depleted of its natural resources. They are conscious of the few scoundrel men with the worst human rights records, blood-sucking extortionists whose only goal is to grab every available opportunity to self-aggrandize to the detriment of devastating our environment. He must be naïve to anticipate a groundswell approval from Reer Sanaag for his elaborate scheme to sign illicit oil exploration deals with foreign companies. If he insists on pursuing, it will predictably lead to the intensification of his unwelcome interruptions and probably a large scale conflict, if that is what he is looking for.
  16. Mohammed Dhere sees the possibility of self-aggrandizement by A/Y. As long as this clannish mentality dwells in the hearts and minds of these malfeasant leaders, there will never be a government of national union. Every group has to manage his own affairs. It is the best interest of all Somalis to live this way. We need 100 more years of anarchy to finally see how this clan hatred and feuds has come to be.
  17. Good point Soomaal There is a vacuum of leadership in Sanaag and Sool. Ever since General Ducaale died in that ambush attack by the Islamist en route to Las Khorreh following their defeat in Bossaso, that region has never rebounded from its political slump. He was charismatic Major General who had shown solidarity with his clan, and when events take on a more sinister aspect, he used to fill in and take over. As long as this vacuum of leadership is in place, you should expect the same thing from warlords like Gen. Cadde. I proposed a long time ago that these regions run their internal affairs instead of coming under unoffcial entities and their ignorant agents who are hell-destined to degrade their tol in Public. You should prove to them if they can be majority by themselves and alone, for history proved and exposed otherwise. There and then, we would be content with munching the grass.

  19. Presumably, because of the cruelty in the nature of current and historical wars and the patriarchal system that a society has kept as a custom/xeer, our women/mothers have suffered greatly under this sytem, which seems very entrenched in our way of lives and irreversible, at least for now. Obviously, the rape cases are very rampant and mostly go unreported because of the burden of the stigma that the victim will be made to bear, but it is an ordeal that lasts forever and which no amount of money can compensate even if it's in perpetuity. Yaasmiiin's article is a great contribution to the works of our learned brothers and sisters at WardheerNews, but even more important is its revelation of a subject that only takes a courageous and eloquent writer to unravel: Rape--silent conspiracy, as it is titled. The enumeration of some rape cases, some of which were perpetrated by members of the ruling family before the state-collapse, was really worrisome enough to block the pores of my skin from breathing. I think those were some of the unreported cases of a systematic victimization of innocent, defenseless people by the regime. The author hints whether it is still appropriate to say let the bygones be bygones or raise the issue decisively? I pick the latter. Thanks Mansa Munsa for the article. Good to see you

  21. MMA, even though the exposure of such academic dishonesty came as a shock to many of us, you should still know that opinion articles don't reflect the website their publication first appeared. They should be distinguished from sources of News. Wardheernews deserves recognition for their objective News making and sources. Failing to verify that article , which Dirie exposed, its source should have been verified prior to its publication, but due to the reliability of the author Jama Elmi who submitted the article and whose works have been published in several other sites before based on an assumed integrity and personal contribution, there is no doubt that webmasters would make the error for failing to verify every single one of article. Hence , they can reverify or remove it from their site, let alone issuing advance warning that those with the urge of academic dishonesty shall be denied of using a website like WardheerNews as a platform to express their views.
  22. Muhsin observes the U.N objectively and he has put forth a legitimate concern for our people in SSHC. Mansa Muna, i think MP Asha Ahmed, a year ago, wrote an open letter to the U.N, IGAD, U.S to raise awareness of humanatarian needs in those regions and lack of consistent undertaking by UN aid agencies. Her letter indeed helped raise the awareness and as a result the U.N sent a team of U.N experts to cities in Sanag and Sool. They reconfirmed Asha's appeal and affirmation that the regions boast of stability contrary to how Hargeisa portrayed them to be in an attempt to divert humanatarian responses or be a liaison to the proceeding. Local NGO's like Horn Relief and other local NGO's whose main purpose is "facilitate and promote sustainable improvement in the social and economic conditions of the Sanaag and Sool regions", have so far worked and benefitted the community.
  23. lol, he has made his stand on the issue clear. The interview was great.

Of course, his vitriolic mudslinging comment wouldn't attract the attention it seeks to be attended. However, for the positive outlook of this deal, i think it will add to the implementation of comprehensive security package that would lead to the stabalization of the country. Let us wait!
