here's what Mantra would do.. please bare in mind im not very business oriented.. In what kind of business would you invest in and why? (hotel, trading firm, ICT, media etc.) I'de take my money and invest in property. Yes, there may be a war of sorts going on but people still need shelter... So Mantra would start on a small scale..building houses for people on the lower end of the spectrum.. easier said than done you say.. well heres the plan ..Mantra Housing Combany (MHO) will implement a plan very similar to that of Habitat for Humanity, (for those of you who arent in the know.. http://www.habitat.org/default2.aspx. If your thinking what im thinking that means major bucks from the UN) using the people as a task force to build their own houses is much easier than hiring construction workers...I'll be avoiding major loss and at the same time bringing the people together as a community to help themselves attain a better quality of living..What could be greater than that? Ofcourse that would be the charitable aspect of MHC, since profit is the main aim here I would use my political affiliation to various tribes (imagination at work) and sign a contract to construct new govt buildings and redo damaged ones, obviously cheap labour would be easily attainable.. How would I land this contract you say? I give a few favours here and there..say pay a certain warlord.. marry off my daughter to another.. behead anyone who dare opposes me.. and so forth, nothing to it really.. Where you ask..well im not too familiar with the layout of Somalia..i'll get back to you on that one. Erm that’s all folks! ^^^^^ Load of crap..completely disregard everything you just read…think im better off starring in your soap opera...

I think ppl are getting fatigued just by hearing the phrase 'women in islam'. [/QB] Yes the phrase is over-used especially by people trying to demean the religion and turn people away..just like this man the awful thing is, I was sent this link by a friend who has been contemplating Islam (still is thank God), now this girl was taken aback by this authors nonsense, all she did was type "women in Islam" on google and this is what she got.. I wonder how many people do so and change their minds when they read this, its quite sad.

he goes further... "Paradise is under the feet of mothers." Dr. Suhaib Hasan comments on the latter: The [above] hadith with this wording is da'if, but its meaning is contained in the hadith of Ibn Majah and al-Nasa'i that a man came to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I intend to go on a (military) expedition, but I have come to ask your advice." He said, "Is your mother alive?" He said, "Yes." He said, "Then stay with her, for the Garden is under her feet."[71a] It is a fact that some mothers deserve the lowest place in hell. It is logical then that Paradise is not under the feet of every mother. The statement "the Garden is under her feet" was said in regard to a particular woman, who probably was known to Mohammad for her uprightness.

MAN'S PREROGATIVES 1. MAN MAY BEAT AND SEXUALLY DESERT HIS WIFE The Qur'an describes the natural relationship between the husband and the wife as one of love and mercy: "He has set between you love (mawaddah) and mercy." Q. 30:21. A contemporary scholar, Sayyed Qotb sees that the love and the mercy spoken of in this verse as the natural feelings the man has for the opposite sex that was planted by the creator. Earlier scholars saw that "love" between the husband and the wife in the above verse refers to the sexual act, while "mercy" refers to the offspring of the man and his wife.[51] The important thing to note is that this love and mercy is not found in the man apart from the woman, but it is a mutual thing found in both. And the Qur'an commands men to "Consort with them (women) in kindness (ma'ruf)." Q. 4:19 According to the Dictionary of Qur'anic terms and concepts the word "ma'ruf" means "customary law; enjoining good and forbidding evil."[52] Elsewhere the word is translated many times as equitable as in Usif Ali's English translation of the Qur'an.[53] In other words when women behave properly they are to be treated kindly, the treatment must be equitable according to the customary laws. There is also a Hadith that describes the good husband; "The best of you are those who are the best to their wives."[54] (that Hadith is mentioned only by Tirmizi). But how far this goodness will go in difficult times, when the wife does not behave properly? The man according to the Qur'an has the responsibility to admonish his wife, and the right to desert her sexually, and to beat her to correct any rebelliousness in her behaviour. The Qur'an states: "Righteous women are therefore obedient, ... And those you fear may be rebellious (nushuz) admonish; banish them to their couches, and beat them."[55] Some translators add the word lightly after 'beat them'[56] in Q. 4:34. Others like Mohammed Pickthall and Rodwell translate the word 'edrebouhon - beat them' as 'scourge them'. The occasion in which Q. 4:34 was revealed sheds more light on the meaning of that verse. Most commentators mention that "the above verse was revealed in connection with a woman who complained to Mohammad that her husband slapped her on the face (which was still marked by the slap). At first the Prophet said to her: 'Get even with him', but then added: 'Wait until I think about it.' Later on the above verse was revealed, after which the Prophet said: 'We wanted one thing but Allah wanted another, and what Allah wanted is best.'"[57] The beating in the previous incident can hardly be described as light, unless that is what is meant by light beating. This beating comes as the last corrective measure when sexual desertion fails. Light beating after sexual desertion is an anticlimax that serves no purpose. But firm beating is the logical progression from admonishing, then sexually deserting, finally beating her. This beating must be stronger than sexual desertion to have any effect. This beating however is not like the whipping of a slave,[58] but "a beating without causing injury"[59] (agreed upon). So the man has the right to beat his rebellious wife as long as that beating is not like the whipping of the slave and will not result in injury. The translator of Mishkat Al-Masabih wrote in a footnote of Fatwa by Qazi Khan that said beating the wife mildly is "allowed in four cases (1) When she does not wear fineries though wanted by the husband, (2) When she is called for sexual intercourse and she refuses without any lawful excuse, (3) When she is ordered to take a bath [to clean herself] from impurities for prayer and she refuses and (4) When she goes abroad without permission of her husband."[60] In another footnote the translator of Mishkat Al-Masabih said, "No wife shall refuse her husband what he wants from her except on religious grounds ie. at the time of menstrual flow or fasting. Some theologians regard this refusal as unlawful as the husband may get enjoyment from his wife in other ways, by embracing, kissing etc. The duty of the wife is to give him comforts in his bed whenever he wants her."[61] (emphasis added) This beating is the husband's unquestionable right. Ibn Kathir in his commentary mentioned a Hadith on the authority of zal Ash'ath Ibn al-Qays who was visiting 'Omar and at that time. 'Omar took his wife and beat her, then said to Ash'ath: 'Memorise three things from me, which I memorised from the prophet who said: "The man is not to be asked why he beat his wife ..."'[62] "Women's rebelliousness (nushuz) is a medical condition. It is of two kinds: The first is the condition when the woman delights to be the submissive partner who finds pleasure in being beaten and tortured. This is what is called Masochism. The second is when the woman loves to hurt and master and dominate the other partner. This is what is called Sadism. Such woman has no remedy except removing her spikes and destroying her weapon by which she dominates. This weapon of the woman is her femininity. But the other woman who delights in submission and being beaten, then beating is her remedy. So the Qur'anic command: 'banish them to their couches, and beat them' agrees with the latest psychological findings in understanding the rebellious woman. This is one of the scientific miracles of the Qur'an because it sums up volumes of the science of psychology about rebellious women."[65] The above two quotations state that the Qur'anic injunction to beat the perverted masochist woman will cure her from her disorder. But will it rather increase her perversion by giving her the pleasure she sought? Will giving alcohol to the alcoholic be his remedy too? And why beat the sadist wife? Why not let her have her own way too, like the masochistic one? Why not let her beat and torture others? Even if this treatment is of benefit to the minority of women who are perverted, does this justify the command to beat the wife who rebels for any and every reason? Whether or not the beating of wives is justified, this is the man's right, and his alone. I have tried reading this with an open mind yet I find a million and one things I do not agree with..obviously. Now before I do my usual knife-wielding, nightly runs killing men I would like to know how many people here think the author is disturbed and how many agree with his distrorted view on things.. (I promise I wont mark you}

Originally posted by ThePoint: lol - quite the spoof. Getting back to actual case - I heard the prosecutor is pressing on despite the lack of DNA evidence. My question is: how does that work? If there is no DNA - doesn't that rule out sexual assault - apart from fondling/grabbing etc?? it does rule out sexual assault, funny thing is the girl claims to have been kicked around a bit.. I think that would've been obvious, cant hide bruises.. they oughta check the horses for DNA

if theres two things I cannot do, well actually theres a lot.. but lets, for my sake pretend they're two, a. I cannot rhyme.. the other I will tell you..in good time, now my problem is very clear.. poetry isnt my thing, yet still I hold it dear so much so that I make a mockery of it by typing out nonsense.. and forcefully rhyming words..oh what a git! how was my day you say? well so far its been quite awful, very uneventful.. just been eating handful after handful of God knows what.. hey it was a present!..ok ok so im a twat but it tastes good how can I not? in any case mama said dont waste food, so stop being such a little snot and eat it..eat God knows what.. well there's my 'poem' I have to admit I sure have tried.. never in my life have I ever rhymed and made sense at the same time.. usually I would've thrown in random words.. Like fried.. and make it rhyme with tried.. how silly of me im doing it again..can you not see? the princess and the pea.. ok I hear you saying enough.. 'poor girl, life really must be tough' I have embarrassed thine self.Ergo I must go salvage what little.. is left of my ego.. nabad geliyoo

Maybe I'll hit down under this summer or South africa but I've realised after reading some articles that it dangerous to be somali in south africa due to the general somali inclination that we're above other black africans or whatever u wanna call it. South Africa is beautiful.. its worth the possibility of getting attacked by a bunch of machete wielding hungry men.. seriously though the tourist areas are very, very safe only problems you'll encounter during your stay would probably be coming to a decision between picking up a white girl, a coloured girl, an indian girl or a black girl

Thought i'de share a little something uplifting I had the pleasure of coming across... Life is toil Don't grieve over the vicissitudes of your existence - you cannot escape hardship. Life, for the most part, involves work and responsibilities. Happiness is an exception or only a fleeting phase that comes and goes sporadically. You long for this life, yet Allah does not want it to be a permanent abode for His slaves. If this world were not a place of trial, it would have been free from disease and hardship; it would have been a comfortable abode for the best of men - the Messengers and Prophets. Adam faced difficulties and troubles until the day he left this world. Nooh's own people scoffed and ridiculed him. Ibraheem was tested by the fire and by the command of slaughtering his son. Ya'qoob was separated from his son and wept till he lost his sight. Moosa endured the tyranny of Fircaun and afterwards the disobedience of his own people. Issa was poor..(may peace be upon them) and lastly Prophet Muhammad (saw) patiently endured poverty and the impudence of his own people, and the loss of his loved ones. The Prophet (saw) said; "this world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the disbeliever" Contemplate and be thankful "And if you could count the graces of Allah, never could you be able to count them" {quran 14:34} remember the favours of Allah upon you and how they surround you from above and below. We have been given abundant favours, yet we feign ignorance. Notwithstanding food, water, sleep, good health, education etc..we still remain despondent and depressed. We think about what we do not have and are ungrateful for what we've been given. Let us reflect upon ourselves..our families..our friends..our deen. Let us contemplate and be thankful. The past is gone forever By brooding over the past and it's tragedies, one exhibits a form of insanity - a kind of sickness that destroys resolve to live for the present moment. Episodes of the past are finished with; sadness cannot retrieve them, melancholy cannot make things right, and depression will never bring the past back to life. Our tragedy is that we are incapable of dealing with the present: neglecting our beautiful castles, we wail over dilapidated buildings. If every man and every jinn were to try jointly to bring back the past, they would most certainly fail. Everything on earth marches forward - so should we. Today is all that you have When you wake up in the morning, do not expect to see the evening - live as though today is all that you have. During this day you should pray with a wakeful heart, recite the Quran with understanding, and remember Allah with sincerity. In this day you should be balanced in your affairs, satisfied with your alloted portion, concerned with your appearance and health. "So hold that which I have given you and be of the grateful" {quran 7:144} Deal with criticism Those who are ignorant have uttered curses at Allah, the Exalted, so what treatment should we, who are full of faults expect from people? You will always have to face criticism, which in its onslaught is like an interminable war: it shows no sign of ending. Unless you become a hermit and move to the mountains, disapproval and condemnation will be your lot in life, so expect to be hurt, insulted and criticized. That fact should not depress you however, a person who is sitting on the ground does not fall and people do not kick a dead dog. Therefore their anger toward you can be attributed to you surpassing them in righteousness. knowledge, manners, or wealth. In their eyes you are a transgressor whose wrongs cannot be atoned for - unless you abandon your talents and strip yourself of all praiseworthy qualities. So bury their criticisms by turning away and dismissing what they have to say. If you desire to be accepted and loved by all, you desire the unattainable. Didnt mean to write this much, I just came across an interesting book and thought i'de share a little from it. Hope it benefits everyone in some way.. let's seek the pleasure of Allah, stand before Him in worship without associating any partners with Him. Let us ask Him ardently and wait patiently for His help. Truly He is Sufficuent for us; He is the One who cures; He is the Creator and Sustainer; He alone brings to life and causes death. "O' Allah we seek refuge in you from anxiety and grief; we seek refuge in You from incapability and laziness; we seek refuge in You from miserlines and cowardliness; we seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and from the subjugation of man" Amin
