The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Take advantage of five matters before five other matters: your youth, before you become old; and your health, before you fall sick; and your richness, before you become poor; and your free time before you become busy; and your life, before your death." Bukhari Self explanatory..

lol Ibtisam, we've been struggling to start up a Somali Society in our university, thousands of Somalis yet we get zero response from them, they could care less...heck we managed to recruit a Pakistani and a few Arabs into our society, the few farax's ive managed to chase down always complain about the two pound fee! I've given up!
-
^ lol Just to disprove that stereotype i'm 21.
-
why don't you go first?
-
Salam sis, Your intentions are great, but im afraid you'll be in Hargeisa long before any such organization is formed. The reason Somalis don't already have such an organization, not for lack of want, is because quite simply we don't want to do anything, we're lazy and apathetic, what could be more worse? Try this-- http://www.somalilaw.org/ Good luck!

Ibtisam I wish you and your family all the best! You can purchase this http://ga.water.usgs.gov/edu/gwtruckrig.html and dig wells all over Somaliland/Somalia and perhaps later move on to Kenya and beyond. You rake in hundreds of thousands for one well alone, and it has ajar in it.. ..that or you can help women divorce their husbands (at a reasonable price of course )

The incident I was talking about happened in Nairobi, not SA. We stayed near the Village Walk, can't remember the hotel name but it started with a V (hey it was over two years ago), we met this muslim cabbie named AbdiGhaffar, he was an interesting mixture, part Malaysian, part African and a whole lotta other stuff...my memory sucks. We did visit Sandton, in fact I think that's where our hotel was.... We went everywhere, even the slums! I didn't see the Somali area though, doubt we missed much how much are you getting paid for promoting SA?
-
Law, I tried maraykanka as you put it lol, the process was too long so I came here inshallah i'll transfer after my first year. what are you studying?
-
If your family aren't bothered about you living alone, why should you worry about others? As for the one's offering to come over, why would you associate with them in the first place? I live with my sister, i've never had anyone say anything about not living with my family.. stay away from Somalis

Salam Bob Our vacation was short lived, only had time to visit Jo'burg and Port Elizabeth, we vowed to return but never quite got round to it. Port Elizabeth was amazing, simply wonderful mashallah, still can't get that image out of my head. Jo'burg was ok, nothing special really, odd people... I noticed South African's have something against shoes..there were hordes of barefoot people everywhere we went.. Why is it you're asking about SA and not about my terrifying near death experience?

Ngonge you look familiar

Hadith - Al-Muwatta 48.12, Similar narration in Abu Dawood #4082 Yahya related to me from Malik from al Ala ibn Abd ar-Rahman that his father said, "I asked Abu Said al-Khudri about the lower garment. He said that he would inform me with knowledge and that he had heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'The lower garment of the mumin should reach to the middle of his calves. There is no harm in what is between that and the ankles. What is lower than that is in the Fire. What is lower than that is in the Fire. On the Day of Rising, Allah will not look at a person who trails his lower garment in arrogance.' " http://muttaqun.com/malehijab.html

Bob you live in one of the most beautiful countries on earth, it's also scary as hell, I remember the first day I ever stepped foot in SA, I was greeted by glaring headlines in every paper I saw "SERIAL RAPIST ON THE LOOSE" what a way to start a holiday I can honestly say i've had a gun held to my head, no one was seriously hurt alhamdulillah. No shots were fired by the thugs, can't say the same for the cops..that's Africa for you.

lol Abla, how about you, layzie, Ibtisam and mantra jump this man? he's only 5 4" (so sad) Ngonge loool! You seem to seriously value your marriage if you're willing to put up with a few beating's every now and then from your Mrs (i'm assuming that's the speech she gives you after she kicks the crap out of you)
-
habar kulaha! Ngonge lol no I haven't tried that out yet (I have no idea what you're talking about), we don't need to be related to have me butt into your private life by the way... don't push it
-
lol Layzie, we just want him out of the picture, we're not going to stoop to his level. Lol Ibtisam true, I have no sympathy for battered women. If she doesnt listen to me and get her divorce im never stepping in again.
-
Layzie he is just that, i'm sure after looking at her face they won't deny her this God given right
