And they brought two sheiks to read the Qu'ran. And mashaAllah I stayed to hear the Qu'ran recited, nothing is more great for the hearing then the recital. Midway, the older sheik brought out this damn huge dagger  , I was like what the  . He started hitting her in the back, head with the dagger, and sticking the dagger in her back. I had never seen, I was freaking out. No joke, and he was throwing water on her. Just made me wonder is this haraam? Allah knows best. hmm..gee lemme think..is stabbing someone haram or not? whaddya think einstein? so you stuck around for the entire exorcism did you? did this lady survive the beatings and stabbings? just out of sheer curiosity.. promise I wont call the cops

Sistas who wear Hijaab are gorgous...am I repeatin' myself...? But why???? as if you didnt know.. somali men have this obsession with marrying virgins, unfortunately for them they assume all 'hijabified' ladies are such.. Oh what I would give to catch a glimpse of a faraxs dissappointed face... I think the phrase eternal happiness sums it all up..

  16. I can write Somali much better than I can speak.. now thats weird! I learnt most of my Somali online, had a good friend who didnt know english..taught me well I must admit. Speaking however is something else, I honestly cant express myself but that doesnt stop me from trying. You learn from your mistakes..I cant tell you how much people make fun of my Somali, that doesnt stop me from rambling on however. And now thanks to my new found obsession with Somali music and my somali-english dictionary my vocabulary has expanded beyond insults..yap I have now mastered the art of shukaansi.. not sure i'll ever try it though.. umm..where was I? ahh yes.. dont give up dear, get on paltalk oh hadaad rabtid qof kusaacidaa aniga ii yeed, waa tartiib ina abti.. know get a dictionary woman!
  17. http://www.hiiraan.com/op/2006/mar/Ibrahim_Abdulkadir120306.htm Reading that article, I noticed; a. The author (a very nice person I must admit, replied to all of my cumbersome messages) has just about given up, he speaks of the situation as if it's completely irrevocable. b. He has no immediate solutions beyond giving a few dollars to a humanitarian organization. This is where I’m lost. Displaced Somalis globally have absolutely no hope for our country. Why is it that we have given up so easily? A few bloodthirsty warmongers and we have become a nation without a country, a people without hope. I’m sure when our grandparents and parents left for neighboring African countries, the Middle East, Europe, America and only God knows where else, they did not envision living away this long. Everyone probably thought this problem would die down and they could get back to their old homes and continue life as always. I bet no one thought 15 years later; this atrocity would still be going on. Seems everyone shut his or her eyes for the past decade or so. Let’s face it beyond writing a few articles now and then. Sending a little aid back home what else have we done for our country? Seriously, what have YOU done for your country? I know I’ve done absolutely nothing. Not even a prayer. Why have we accepted a bunch of unruly greedy beasts to defeat us…an entire people? We only chase after our daily lives, hardly helping others. When did living in a community home in a white mans land become our lives? when did holding a dead end job become a routine? When did studying damn hard everyday to work for a pale faced racist become our goal? We have a home. A place where we can become anything we want to be. A country we can build and take pride in. when did we forget that? I don’t have solutions myself as is quite obvious, but I do have the passion and the drive to try and bring some change about Somalia. We have educated youths the world over, why do we waste away in a land that is not ours. A land where we are not welcome, when we have a beautiful home that’s practically calling out for us to save it. The drought situation really did show us up didn’t it? Showed us for what we really are; selfish. People are dying in the thousands...yes I said D-Y-I-N-G the situation hasn’t improved much. Now, honestly what ARE we doing? We have doctors, teachers, nurses (lord knows we have nurses) journalists...we have Somali politicians in other countries. What is it that’s stopping us from coming together to benefit our people? Our kids? Our future? I want a Somalia where children don’t sleep hungry, a Somalia where every girl gets an education, where no one lives in fear of another. Where we embrace our tribal differences and respect one another. A united Somalia. I want a home. I have gone on and on, and even though solutions completely elude me, i’ll be damned if I accept the status quo as a future trend. Let’s not let our generation give up like our predecessors. Let’s try our best and may Allah make it easier for us. Now Mantra has done rambling. I would love to hear your ideas on what we CAN do, and please if your a pessimist I suggest you dont bother typing out how the situation cannot be helped...keep your opinions to yourself if you have nothing good to add. Everyone else...take a deep breath and start typing.

  20. If my family ever try to get me to settle down with a farax I now know what to do..
  21. Purity seems archaic; abstinence impossible. Why wait when everyone else is getting the goods now? It’s just sex waiting till marriage seems outdated and prudish......there are more than a few healthy practical benefits of regular sex. For example, they say sex helps reduce menstrual pain in women,And in general, because sex reduces stress, it helps maintain a healthier immune system.....besides life is too damn short why wait around till marriage, what happens if the so called mr right or miss right never comes along......live life waiting and die while waiting....what a shame way to live! helps to practise before you commit its always the virgins who are outspoken about sex..

  23. Originally posted by Socod_badne: Under NO attenuating circumstances is it ok!!!! I can't over stress this point. A girl/woman must know how to cook. If not, then that girl/woman is a failure... first and foremost as a human being, then as a daughter, sister and a wife if so lucky. What are you (as a girl) good for if you can't cook? Lead, rule, invent, innovate, fight, protect? Nothing, nada, zilch... absolutely diddly squat. quite the bitter one arent we? I doubt your mother, sister, wife (if YOU get lucky) would appreciate your belittling them... to the point that you so haughtily exclaim that women are good for nothing other than cooking food. You're what's called cilmi bacaac , seduced by Western lies about gender equality and all the crap... We don't need little confused and Kufar catechized young girls stirring our little serene and still pond called SOL. Go away and never come back! [/QB] much as I would love to sit here and type a long reply to your nonsensical garbage... I have the God given ability to recognise a lost cause when I see one.. therefore i'll leave you with one question.. where on earth did you learn that having no culinary skills constitutes apostatizing? I bet in the same school where you learnt women were created for no other reason than to cook for you..
  24. I can make tea and eggs.. I have no qualms about living on sandwiches.. no one else matters to me..than me.. My answer..as long as you dont starve, life's good. If mr mantra gets hungry..then mr mantra better pick up the phone..
  25. WOMEN: Whoever hath a daughter, and doth not bury her alive,or scold her,or prefer his male children to her, may God bring him into Paradise. [/QB] Thanks for the wonderful post... Its sad however how Somali parents treat their daughters. Even the men in our generation are not exempt from such idiotic mentality.. I guess we're all avoiding paradise one way or the other..
