  1. Bro AYOUB, Waa iga Qoslisey Qudhaada LOOOL. I am still laughing. It was an interesting stuff I think that I wrote. But after some introspection, I thought it wasn't wise to ask questions like that at this juncture. I grew wary lately and delete a lot of the stuff I write wondering about their appropriateness. Ramadaan Karim in Advance.
  2. Bro Salafi, interesting point on Abdullahi Yusuf. And never mind the rest I wrote(if you already read it). I just don't want to spoil the mood for the hopefuls and sound too pessimistic(I deleted some stuff-questions I wrote). Thanks Saxib anyway.

Just wonder This is a trick question, right? Lucky that Salafi didn’t fall for that meagre bait you’ve dangled in front of him, saaxib. Bro NGONGE, That is funny saxib Some of the things are obvious though and need no more clarification. I have no business supporting a Saudi ruler. Let those who reside there deal with that problem. I think these fatwas bro Salafi-Oline is quoting were given in the best interest of the Saudi people, for the sake of peace and to avoid anarchy and mayhem that can result from people picking up arms against strongly established and ruthless rulers who treat the country as a piece of land they own. I wholeheartedly agree with that approach given our situation. We are a good example of a nation gone Mad. May be the whole effort on the part of the sheikhs as I can surmise from what I read in Some Websites, is to choose the lesser of two evils. Violence that can result in too many deaths and mayhem, or Carrying on under these rulers the message of islam through teaching and patience untill some other time when it is possible to bring about change comes. On the other hand, It is unwise for anyone to attack some sheekh because another Sheekh happened to have a difference with him. They usually tell you to compare the knowledge of the two disputing sheekhs and thus you must take sides. My answer would be No-side-taking and I don't care since none of the sheekhs is taking me to heaven. I am facing my deeds on my account not on anyone else's. I need to mind my own business and not slander someone I can not personally attest to their unfaithfulness to God. The approach as you wisely indicated should be neutral and not take sides. It is silly to support one sheekh over the other and slander his opponent for no reason other than your sheekh happens to dislike him. Is that part of islam? Why should one get involved in Saudi Politics in the first place if they were Somalis? No One wants to put his house on fire, and to some sheekhs, welcoming opposition just means that. Add to the equation the go-betweeners who take a rumour to a sheekh and tell him that such and shuch were being said about you or about the rulers. You can imagine some sick people have worked hard to create animosity between Sheekhs, the biggest of the culprits being the Saudi Rulers themselves. They thrive on the devision of the Muslim Scholars. And some brothers don't even realize what message they are carrying. I say to Somali brothers, learn what is beneficial and stop being a carrier of a message you have no clue about. May be you are too faithful and eager to please God, however, getting busy with the differences of some Sheekhs isn't the way. How About talking and disecting our own problems? A country Needs us My two cents. PS: Anyone thought Abdullahi Yusuf, Our New president can utilize some of the fatwas if he was smart? Honestly, Rulers nowadays don't even need to fight insurgents, just utilize islam to their own end and line-up support by threatening others with unfaithfulness. It can't get any simpler than that. I recall Somaliland government being legitimate and very islamic according to our Salafi Brother. Now we have something to talk about so let us continue the debate lol.
  4. Kolley aniga shaqsi Ahaan Cabdullaahi Yusuf uma codeeyeen Haddii la dhihi lahaa Qof walba Codeyntiisa ha dhiibto. Not every Somali was represented in the vote. Magaalo kasta ee Soomaaliyeedna Qabiilaa ku badan sida Awalba Xamar Qabiilka hadda Deggan uu ugu badnaa. It became the Capital because it was the base of the Colonial power where they built the major institutions of government. Somalinimadaa ka muhiimsaneyd Qabiilka hoose sidaasaana qof walboo soomaaliyeed meeshu doono ugu noolaa. Hadda dadka magaalada deggan iyagaa isu keeney wax walboo ku dhaca ama loogu taliyo. Gaar ahaan nimanka ay taageeri jireen ayaa badey dullinimada magaaladiina ka dhigey meel laga kala cararo. Haddaadan adiga isu fakarin soomaliyada maanta, berrito markii lagaa il helo, waa laguu talinayaa si fiican. Awalba dad ul booc ah kuugu taagsanaayey wax axsaan oo ay kuu sameyn lahaayeen baa iska yar. One thing I am sure, If this is a victory of a tribe, A lot of somalis including myself have no business in supporting this coming adminstration. Perhaps they should take it where people feel their tribe has won if that is the case. Maxaa war badan keeney. Ama Qabiil ama Qaran ayey ahaaneysaa. Haddey Qabiil noqotana, nin nin u talin doono ma jiro.
  5. Hey Sis Rahima, Okey, I am not worried about you then I just hope you don't change due to the bias of others. The longer you discuss with people about politics, the more likely you get changed. But I think you have proven me wrong. Carry On Dahling.
  6. Bro Macruuf, Adiga daraadaa an u tirtirey qaar ka mid ah waxaan dhahay oo ku saabsanaa the future of Xamar. Just wanted to reply to the "Paying back" comment of Saxardiid. Sometimes it is better to ignore and not comment on trivial matters. Saxib, Raalli ahoow if I hurt your feelings.
  7. Saxardiid, I said people in that City need to unite and form a local government. An indication on my part that things are not smooth and there is work to be done. And Politics are always personal. At least that is how I read what everyone writes regardless. I think the Efforts of ARTA and others failed because No one, including Abdullahi Yusuf, wanted to work with others. The military men were sidelined and offerEd nothing. Every one of them felt they had something to lose and thus refused to co-operate right at the inception. It is on record I guess and people can read that for themselves. You can succeed with the co-operation of others, but as long as you have opponents who can spoil what they considered to be their usurped personal right, Saxardiid, You are bound to fail. Somali politics are doom and Gloom.
  8. Having a mandate alone won't make Abdullahi a winner. People will put a label on any war he wages regardless of what he and the world calls it. Unless others fight alongside him to put a unified face on his campaign, the result is a loss of everything for him. The demon who destroyed what we had before still larks in the dark and looms larger than ever. For this to work, and for any government headed by Abdullahi yusuf to take root, As suggested, Those who disagree with him hold the key and should swallow their pride for the interest of all. Stronger men lost before him and he will lose if he wages a war. If I was an adviser to him, war is not Option.
  9. Nimankaan waxeysan aheyn yaan laga dhigin. Waa thugs who have no influence. They control this and they control that is what put us here for this long. If they are confronted and are held responsible for any negative outcome, they love to live and will change their mind. Not to forget that no one will support them from their immidiate tribes hopefully.
  10. Saxardiid, Some in Xamar would welcome the move. The farther away the influence, the better for them. They would have lost nothing in their judgement. Rahima. Everything matters. It is about interests and allies, foes and who you can trust to keep YOUR winning afloat. Don't be gullible sis. How do you read "Paying back" in Saxardiid's comment? The new government needs a protection from the wolves LOOL. Just shows the quicksand things stand on. Ilaahey ha u gargaaro Dadkaan, they surely have built their being on shaky foundations.
  11. Number Four is very important. They can damage his credibility. And if he must show his appreciation for their long standing support for him, At least he should do like all other Muslim leaders do, Habeen u guureyn SmithAndWestern. Yaa waaye SRRC? And a word of advice for you, I have seen passionate guys like you who were muted by disappointment. So take it easy. You are just too obvious Duqa LOOL.
  12. Macruuf, We will just have to wait and see how things play out I don't think this time differences are too deep and something can be worked out that satisfies those who consider and equate Somali governance with their personal interests(the polititians). Remember, it is and always has been the man who is seeking positions of power and influence that dictated the outcome and the success of any reconciliation meeting in the past, not the average person in any Somali town. The guys in Nairobi seem to have agreed for now on the surface and each one pledging to work with the rest. If they hold on to their promises and pledges of co-operation, This will work for sure. So far, they are lined up for other JOBS in the Future now that they missed the big one LOL. Really sad that the future of Somalis are bound by some men's interests and happiness. Hope this time they are mature and understand the gravity of failure. My Only fear is Abdullahi yusuf to become another Failed Muslim Leader who appeases the enemies of Islam by cracking down on Islam and Muslims by accusing them to be terrorists. I hope Ethiopia stays out of this and doesn't cause Abdullahi's Failure.
  13. Macruuf, The people who casted the votes weren't tribally conscious, Because if they were, Many of them wouldn't have voted for Abdullahi Yusuf. The contenders lost because they didn't get the votes needed. Are they failures because they should have voted along tribal lines? Is that what you are saying? As for the people of Xamar spoiling something for others, Well, if this effort is FOR OTHERS IN THE FIRST PLACE, Then they have NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. But if it is something for everyone, they have their part to play to make it work. So long as the outcome of this and the leadership works for the interests of all, it has the chance to succeed. There is no group of somalis deserving leadership over others. Leadership is co-operative effort that fails once it becomes personalized and others hold on their support from you. All previous failures were due to disagreements and people not wanting to co-operate with each other. This should be clear by now. It is not about people of Xamar failed and didn't take advantage of their chance or vice versa for that is the psychology of those who believe leadership should be tribal, one year this family ruling, the other year that family ruling. Don't you find such mentality very lowly?
  14. I am not promising anything. All I care about is some semblance of order, a nominal president with no power at all who can't dictate rules, a working document that can let somalis travel and pass through ports with ease and with some respect, and above all, safety and life without fear for every somali wherever he/she lives within Somalia.
  15. I find this Notion of subservience to be disgusting. I am not Obeying anyone. So is my islam valid or Not? Just wonder

I have never been in a position to make a hiring decisions. However, When the American Economy was vibrant in the Clinton Era, Our company offered us great bonuses for each good worker with ethics we brought to the company. We got our Bonus checks through the mail or direct deposit provided these employees who were brought by us and were hired stayed for six months. And guess what we Somalis did? Bring the Whole town in LOL. At some point, we were 15% of the overall employees of the company. And we were the Only blacks working for it. Any somali who could pass the pychological tests designed for the company, basic math and computer skills got the job. Some made up the ladder within the company and became sustaining engineers after they went to college paid for by the company, others are in leading positions, while some of us are still students doing Engineering degrees, all paid for by the company. Many Somalis also Quit or opted for a lay-off with good severance packages. We made a good name for ourselves and actually changed the silent policy of the company of not hiring blacks. They used to hire one or two blacks at the most, but once we opened the door, posters of tolerance and diversity were all over the place and the company sells itself now as inclusive. Anyway, I would hire a somali who is qualified if the position requires certain qualifications and he has that. If not, and the work requires no skill or experience, I would still hire a Somali anyday over others but will avoid to make the place look like Somalia LOL. I remember way back in 1997, when I was newly arrived person in America, A somali guy waiting for a bus asked me if I had a job. I told him I didn't. He asked me if I wanted one to which I replied yes. He took me to his work, paid for my bus ticket and talked to his supervisor to hire me. I was hired the same day since they needed people. My first Job in America. Thanks to that brother, I could send money back home sooner than I expected
  17. Bari Nomad, The reason HA told others to wait and not rush to conclusions before the facts came out, was I think because of HIS unwillingness to associate with voilence against innocents. And now that he saw it, he said the right thing. I would think someone who is happy with the tragedy of others wouldn't be dismissive but more in agreement with whatever happens and blame the victims as well. And none of that was expressed by HA.
  18. If I were to be a judge who had the liberty of handing down guilty verdicts, Morgan alone would not be the One being relegated to a dungeon to await an ultimate execution by a firing squad but all involved including those who came all the way from other locations in the south. There is the guilty, and there is the other guilty party as well, and all are guilty and responsible for any damage they caused be it death or destraction of property. I heard though Some tribes who come to Dhoobleey for business from Xamar will compensate by paying "DIYO" and "REBUILD" the houses for the respective victims. I am not sure how truthful that is. I think Morgan is the wrong person to advocate for the rights of Some Kismayo residents who feel threatened, and who feel insecure in living under threat or under the mercy of others. It is natural for Somalis to feel threatened nowadays in living under the mercy of others, each group wanting their own WARLORD/TRIBAL pointman to reign supreme if only to sleep at night knowing someone isn't gonna come and do something to them just because they belong to tribe fulan. And we know the villains, the men with penchant for violence in every Somali group are few. It takes one Man who does commit some crime to smear the name of a whole tribe who otherwise are innocent. There is an injustice that needs to be addressed but not in a war and surely Morgan is not the Man to lead that effort. The man invites all the excuses others need. I imagine had there been someone else indisputably local(someone who doesn't need a tribal connection but by birth is Kismayo resident), there would be a different story to tell? The benefit of that I suppose would have been to avoid all these other purveyors of violence pointing to Morgan as the Villain(which he is anyway) outsider causing problems for others. I would just kill every Somali warlord and don't feel I have killed a MUSLIM.
  19. Sheherazade, Looks like I am busted! I thought I wasn't that obvious in wanting to make you tell the stories you had to tell lol. But there will be another chance to bring that cute Me-Tarzan-You-Jane english of yours out again I will read the links and report back inshallah in due time. Thanks again Sis.
  20. My Major will be Engineering inshallah. At the Moment though, I am working on a degree In Nano Technology. And to Quote "Nanotechnology, In practical terms, is the ability to work with matter at a nanoscale which changes the fundamental properties of matter. A core principle of nanotechnology is that matter often exhibits very different properties when it is considered on the granular, as oppsed to bulk, scale. For biomedical applications, this quantum effect opens doors to a vast array of new opportunities. In medical and life sciences circles, current nanotechnology experiments are focusing on diagnostic imaging, drug detection, cell tracking and early desease diagnosis, just to name a few. " from MA(MANAGING AUTOMATION) Septemer 2004 Edition Anyhow, that is the basic explanation of what I am working on.
  21. Sheherazade, I can imagine the stories you have to tell of that time, make-believe or not, can be interesting. I am not a story teller but more of a good listener and an avid reader. Who doesn't like to listen to a good story from some gifted story teller? or Getting immersed in a good book that takes them through journeys of great Adventures huh? Okey, does "City-Born" mean "Born in a city"? Sounds like "Civilized" to me. Some people have the tendency to associate good character and civility to being born and growing up in a city. That is why when they praise someone and speak of his good civil manners, they say "Hebel is reer magaal" meaning "That person is a city person" meaning "civilized". So, if that is what Sheherazadeh stands for, I say it is still CUTE You just have to accept one time a petty flattery and set aside the "nay" personality when it comes to small praise lol. Alright, not in my best shape today really, weather changes get to me, so, sorry if I am not clear and take care. Gotta run Sis. PS: What of sheherazade? The Story I mean?
  22. Sheherazade, Why the name if you don't mind? have you lived somewhere in persia before? Hope I didn't ask very personal question. And as I said before, it is cute so don't think I have asked about it because it sounds strange or anything resembling that line of thought. Just out of curiousity

    Energy Colours

Your Energy is Green. You are easygoing, stable and bring feelings of peace and natural harmony to those in your presence. You have good perception and awareness about most things, but you don't apreciate sudden surprises. You are a natural healer and would make an ideal physician, office manager, herbologist, anthropologist, or Accountant. What color is your energy? brought to you by Quizilla Seven of Nine Are you really restless?
  24. Sheherazade, Typographical errors do happen if you type faster and don't use spellcheck for your posts, or you don't preview the piece before the final submission. I don't pay much attention to people's typographical errors so long as I understand the essential meaning of their post Your take on the vocabulary is very nice. So as your take on Verbosity. Funny though how you precisely defined the way you write. Verbosity: Me prefer 'Me-Tarzan-You-Jane' school of writing. Me no like so much words tangled like jungle. Me like swing from word to word easily, rest here, there on full stop, hang from comma, bounce from exclamation mark, know where come from, where go, like sign-post of bracket, dash, paragraph...not get lost then, achieve good rhythm, style, me Jane, me swing, swing better than Tarzan...remember many, many adjectives no need...give sleeping sickness in word jungle...zzzzz [/QB] LOL. Funny indeed. Btw, Aeryn Sun might be reading so I can't say anything that smells of flattery. Last time we were both told to stop adulating each other. Thanks anyway.
