He could be psychologically disturbed man from the looks of him. But I ask out of curiousity, What about those who support A/Y in the event he goes to a war with others who disagreed with him? As someone whose parents live in Mogadishu, I resent A/Y or anyone who wants to create more problems for them. I wouldn't agree with Aidid Sr or another living Loser who was elected through corrupted politics(in the hopes of bringing peace) to ignite more wars and fight his way to Garowe or Bosaso just because he was elected president and some men in those towns have dispute with him. So bro SKY, what do you say?

Haddaad is undoubtedly dialectical and a didactic brother in the sense that his contribution is aimed to instruct or expose a wrong without directly saying it. I am amused when he gets into an exchange with someone and no one in the particular exchange or discussion wants to relinquish their points of view. Makes a funny read indeed.

Somali government news...Gedo, Xuddur, Lower Upper Juba
Xoogsade replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
Utterly funny how some are worried about the semantics used lest this so called government becomes dead in the minds of others when it is already dead and people are getting ready for the burial Thanks to Dagaal Ooge A/Y. -
Glad everyone is okey so far

Perhaps you’d rather stayed off the radar for you are making a mockery of yourself. Do not you ever grow out of the “…you belong to his tribe rubbish…you hate that tribe crub…†Why o why do you have to explain everything away in such retarded manner in lieu of trying to dig deeper to evoke some thinking. A government, any that is, has policies, strategies and plans to do what it set out to accomplish. This one is no different in that sense – unfortunately rogue personalities and roadblocks are the hurdles it has to step over in lieu of economic, trans-governmental, geopolitical issues amongst many state worries. Samurai, You have wasted your time nin yohow writing that much to me. The invectives should have sufficed and got your point across. Your captious mannerism, the desultory piece you wrote, the marked irascibility obvious in your tone, all point to one fact, your sacred cow, your lord have been picked on, as such, perhaps I should apologize for ignoring the wisdom of keeping my distance from what people like you hold sacred. Oh man! how sacrilegious of me by saying what I think of A/Y. Besides, contradicting yourself by condemning everyone else who disagrees with you as less bright then go on write to them a whole page of much ado about nothing can actually qualify as, yes, you guessed it right, real ineptness. You should have figured that You are better off not saying a word to them than waste away your precious minutes writing to them. And there is a good example for you in Che and Wind.Talker.

Samurai, Seriously, what else will go on here except group-hugs if some of us don't tell people to snap out of it and break the party apart? Middeeda kale, hasn't A/Y transcended from a tribal leader to a public figure? a target for better or for worse by his own choice? If he is someone you hold dear because he belongs to your tribe and you are beholden to him, OTHERS DON'T CARE. They have no such emotional connection to him and will say whatever they please about him. Some of them might dislike him because of what tribe he belongs to, but many hold him responsible for whatever mistakes he had made so far. This is not to say he is dealing with better opponents, things are perfect, but the reality is, each person is accountable for what he contributes to the politics, negative or positive. If your emotional outbursts are due to your inability to deal with the facts, perhaps not reading what people who differ you write is the way to go. Don't read my contribution. Read the people you know will write what pleases you. In the real world, you will deal with people who will not always sing the same song as you do. Get used to it or avoid them altogether.

President rubishes the daydream of Shariff Xasan

An alternative to Yeey? he can change his policies a bit to accomodate others I suppose, that is all required for things to work FOR HIM. I think the complaints against him are legitimate, the concerns are valid, and if people have a stake in this government as you sell it to be, then people better be on his case or on anyone's case they differ rightly, and they will be doing that without asking the opinion of those who are concerned with their own end of the game. Isn't it a selfish world out there in Somalia? And if you let another somali dictate to you without checks that you are lost? Ma nin soomali ah oo caddaalad yaqaanaa aragtey hadduusan kaa cabsanin? Even if the warlords were out of the equation, still people would be confronting A/Y if he wants to have the final say of everything. Such scenario of a man wielding unquestionable power is not palatable, that is made history which people hope never to come back again. Perhaps A/Y and his blind supporters should wake up to that reality and smell the coffee. Btw, DUKE, Can you appreciate yourself in others(your copies) and be more realistic? be in tune with their warped mentality that is yours? Can you accept islam as the sole redeemer of the confusion? if not, Can you accept that people have the right to be YOU exactly in mentality and bargain whatever it takes for their own end? Bal adiga marka hore is fahan si aa u fahamto dadka kale waxa ka qaldan. Besides, So far, I haven't said anything about A/Y's clan. I am actually quarter this tribe quarter that tribe, half this tribe and half that tribe. Can't say definitively I am a particular tribe, and for once, I am not emotionally connected to any tribe, the same individualistic mentality I was raised with, is the same mentality I still carry. Secondly, I don't like TRIBALISTS and will tell them what I think of them. If that makes me a tribalist or a hater of another tribe, so be it Saxib. I don't really care. I have no respect for tribalists and don't trust them. -

Actually, the "imminent goodbye" comment has nothing to do with death-wish but more like the imminent self-inflicting final blows coming to whatever chances he has left. He might even lose the power to bring a dozen conniving men to a table for a meeting if he continues in the current pace of screw-ups. Besides, why wish death on A/Y when he has neither influence nor the capability to do anything to anyone on his own? The men you named actually presided over established institutions and societies that didn't distrust each other as profoundly as somalis do today. Their chances of staying in power was solid unlike A/Y who is just a man trying to find his footing. The basic fact about Somalia today is that people are paranoid about letting anyone else have unquestionable power over them. Each community secluded itslef and won't let anyone from outside their domain dictate over them. And if they have such person in a powerful position, they have the controls over him and he can do nothing they don't like. To pacify the unmalleable society, to make such paranoid people trust you, surely, it WAS really silly to talk about a war or anything that smells of it. A/Y made irreversible miscalculations. He thought just because he was elected, he could say and do whatever he wanted. It escaped him that the road to stability was fraught with dangers. No sooner than he was named president, he started alienating everyone, the same people who could have helped him isolate whoever would oppose the government. He drew the lines and he has paid for it. Presiding over a devided government that won't come together since each group will stick to their line including him is actually not what he expected. But I am sure it doesn't bother him a bit. He doesn't act as bothered and comes off as indifferent about what is going on. Bottom line, What are his chances of succeeding in bringing people together and become what people hoped he would be? Can he win against the odds he created for himself? No one is going to raise a finger on his behalf for sure and fight a war to kill a relative. People been there done that. What is left is the current saga of political confusion. As long as A/Y and the men opposing him wage their wars on the airwaves, they are welcome. Let them fight. With the exception of A/Y supporters, every Somali thinks of him as another warlord, So the majority don't understand why he shouldn't get along with his peers and co-horts in crime. Inuu sasabtaa la rabey instead of raising the stakes and talking about BS. Instead of emboldening them and offending many, he should have cajoled them into being his stooges. They surely would have been happy to serve him and be his underdogs to rob what is left of Somalis anyway. -
OLOL, good job. What else is new anyway.

The reality is, A/Y has become for some the Eyes with which they see, the ears with which they hear, the hearts and minds with which they decide about everything. In such mindless drive and spirit, they have stepped out of their islamic decor and assail every Xawo and Adam who has disagreements with A/Y's . Every comment such supporters of his write, every political discussion they partake in, every effort they make is calibrated to make A/Y a vaunted leader who deserves the reverence of others. There is no freedom of conscious opposition to any wrong politics A/Y wants. Simply, there can be no discussion. An opposition is either a scrap merchant or the son of him, or a home robber who wants to keep his loot. I mean, does it get any more silly and childish than that??! A/Y was given a chance to make things better, he squandered it as things stand. The process is on going still, and the end could be different altogether. Before the soon-to-come final goodbye to his excellency or a miraculous turn-around on his part(and getting smart all of a sudden for some out of this world reason) comes around, sing your songs of veiled yet obvious, slanted yet portrayed as balanced drama that no one believes except you. May I add that I don't buy anything you say so you can keep your comments and make me the last man who talked? THANK YOU. -
Cabinet meeting called in Jowhar + Xamar meeting cancelled:

The only people I see or hear talk about wars or a showdown are A/Y supporters. The rest of somalis are either indifferent and wrote off A/Y as another loser, or they are active in ensuring the Old man doesn't get anywhere by playing and beating him to his mindless, visionless, Mudug-style-hubris dirty politics. Anyhow, goormaa laga tagey warka ah in nin madax soomaali u noqdo xataa hal sano waaba labaatan sanee? We are doomed to this fate of no progress as long the likes of some up in here are plenty in somalia. Dadkana waa kala maskax fiican yihiin, anyone who talks about a winning war in favour of A/Y is really in need of brain surgery. -
Underdog, Saxib, you have some valid points If the issues with the girl are the ones you mentioned in your last post, the friend actually won't need my opinion will he? He can see her for what she is. Anyway saxib, on a side note, I find interesting the fact that there is someone for everyone out there no matter the personal demons people carry from their past. Allah is indeed most kind. If people were deprived of chances to meet someone because of their mistakes, many humans would have died lonesome and isolated. Athena You made underdog defensive and he basically excused himself out of the topic. Your fault

I read an article the other day about young kids being repatriated by the UN from the gulf countries and re-unite them with their hard-to-find parents. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/736146/posts What is wrong with these wealthy Arabs? LOL
-
Athena, you have the better view in here. You gave the perfect logic when you wrote in your previous post "2. The sister is making conscious efforts to be better since she wants to settle for your high-morale friend. In which case, you would be messing things up unnecessarily. Forgiveness is from Allah, not you or your friend and you shouldn’t stand in the way of those trying to get it." I think the friend shouldn't ask for people's opinions to begin with and should make his decision about the woman he wants based on what he knows about her. Most likely the girl will tell him about her past experiences if she wants to avoid guys like underdog screwing things up for her later. And there is no such thing as morally-high person. The bottom line is that each one of us is human and has imperfections. Some of us do worse things than others but those who change for the better are as good as those who done little. Besides, Qofaa jeceshahay qof kale lagama wareysto. If Allah the creator forgives, who are we to hold someone hostage for their past? As for the other guy who told you not to expect that a man would tell you every detail about their life, HE IS TOTALLY WRONG. It will depend on how far the man wants to go with you. Definitely, if the man's intensions are pure and he wants you as his wife, he will be forthcoming and will bare everything about him. He has to do that to get to you surely. Men are not all the same.

LOL@ Wind.Talker and Audacious, I wouldn't be so quick to judge them as more tribalistic than somali males. I think it is better for them to not get involved in tribal politics but be more active in projects that benefit people wherever they are instead. Wasaq lama dhex galo and somali politics are just that. When things change later, they better be active then, but for now, they shouldn't join the mad circus.
-
Ofleh, What do you mean by somalis are diverse enough? How are they different from each other for them to be considered diverse people?
-
NGONGE has the best answer. They would be invaded and forced to join the islamic government. CHE The only thing Somalis will lose is the practice of bigotry and tribalism. They would be better muslims for sure. Besides, People/nations and comunities who were touched by the long arm of islam still maintain their culture throughout the islamic world. Islam introduced the perfect caqiida to people and left what didn't oppose its teaching in tact as it was found. Even communities who refused to accept islam but agreed to pay tax were left to practice their religions. That is why the oldest christian sects and judaism survived in islamic countries and are found in Turkey, Syria, Iraq and in Palestine.

"quote:You want to give Faarax something to show appreciation... do something useful for him. Go to his place and do his laundry or cook him some hilib." Well, they do that for a fact. Kaleido That is because it is easier on the mind and soul to be loved than be in love. What if the person you want isn't available? That is the case more often than not. And if you find moving on simple, some don't, so they would rather be not the ones who harbour more of the dreaded feeling. Hope that clarifies the comment a little

Waterlily , exactly my sentiment. I think the comments aptly fit most white women. Victims of blind feminism. Somali women aren't that extreme even if some are a little off track. Miss B!tch is my type though Something nice about selfish women.

Horn Afrique, I am not supposed to laugh, but as nonsensical and illogical as what somalis are mired in is, What I found funny was, how your last post made some of the previous arguments fit in the saying Wixii xunba xaawaa leh. But I guess it goes through the family to be prideful no matter how odd of a situation one finds himself in. I respect them for that. If I was in a position of power to settle disputes between somalis, they would be happy today although I am sure some of them can never be satisfied with what is rightfully theirs only and might want or ask for more. Soomalida caadadeeda waxa waaye, and this is from my experience through travelling in the south and living with other somali tribesmen during my journey, the victim of today is the victimizer of tomorrow given the chance. I can swear to god that that is what was going on in every town I travelled through. Whenever some group displaced another, the latter group did the same thing and engaged in the same barbaric acts of yesterday. Waxaan is oran jirey, kaaley, kuwaan kuwii shaley ilaah baryaayey ma ahan miyaa? I was in an oddly world that had dreamlike quality, surrealism, only it was nightmarish dream till I made to Nairobi. And I am talking about months of journeying. Meelaa laga heestaa Soomaalida. Anyhow, Waa ka baxay.

Out of the blue comes Arawelo on fire and blunt! with a message that says I want to teach xoogsade he is not this he is not that but a poor farax and fuley I shame him, I abash him Araweelo, see tahay? you will take all the blame if one of the forumers gets upset with me because I couldn't let you go with your comment and had to change the thread a little. I never let a challenge slip by. But cowardice is important in some instances, in this case, it was a required one out of kindness for muraayo aka Zephyrine. And I hope you get the meaning of Zephyrine as a Mirror. An object of illusion and fragility that is dealt with care as a mere pressure or hit might break it into thousand pieces. You got the idea now I think. Adiga haddaa dagaal rabtidna iskeen. Waa laguu dhigaa duruusta.
-
Although JB excused himself from this thread, I would have told him that being nonsensically proud is not tribal but more like regional traits. You can find two individuals who are from the same grandfather but who lived in and grew up separately in different regions of somalia who espouse different views and beliefs about their tribe and what value it holds for them as individuals. The more extreme tribalist groups of people are usually people who grew up seeing only their close or distant cousins as neighbours and only interacted with others as a transient in a town or shared a tribal border which caused seasonal tribal wars anyway. By contrast to these groups, a civilized person who grew up in a cosmopolitan or in an urban setting where tribe isn't an issue is really cool and secure about who he is as a person and doesn't draw back for strength and dignity to who he is tribally as that is meaningless. In today's somalia, people with the first attitude are the dominant figures everywhere. They are even online doing what they did best back then under the acacia tree, be the tribal-man they were and keep the culture. Definitely, many civilized somalis whose world was turned upside down by others who put tribe first and foremost, RESENT and wish they never made contact with such difficult to deal with people, and that such groups were confined to their badiye so others could enjoy life without labels and constant obsession with who is who. As we know, even towns that were built as somali towns are now a disputed tribal territories. Waa straight Badiye culture in town that relentlessly seeks to put a tribal tag on everything that moves or inanimate. They even use ISLAM to make their unislamic obsession legal. Soomaliya weligeed hagaagi meyso ilaa Qabiil la aaso oo qofkastoo Soomaaliya marka la weydiiyo ciduu yahay uu yiraahdo "Muslim". Before that becomes reality(which I think won't happen anytime soon), it is just who is stronger or weaker at any given time in Somalia, who makes smart alliances and who breaks the back of others first before theirs is broken. It will be an endless cycle of underminings through political and economic means if not an outright violent ways. Xarfaantii dhaqanka baadiyaha kusoo kortey aa maanta magaalada deggan meel walbana gacanta ku haayo. Can you imagine these tribally obsessed individuals and their foes who are the same mentally will accept any resolution if they are not getting the top benefit of everything just because the tribal pride or defeat your enemy attitude demands it? Qabiil waa la dhaafi waayay ee halaga xaaxaabiyo. PS: You can change someone if you are a changed person to begin with, so let everyone start with themselves before they even think about other people's faults. Ask yourself first if you pride yourself in being who you are tribewise, if that is a "YES" answer, you know the same sentiment is held by others. So what is the point? Khasaaro u joognimaa caado laga dhigtey(tribalism) oo lagu madax adag yahay. So let the saga continue.
