  1. Duke, You can quote the lies I told about A/Y and we will take it from there and even apologize. Ethiopian troops, threats of war, unwillingness to reconcile his differences with others if it is not his way are all facts about him. Unless you consider such characteristics of him a lie, then you can quote me on what else I said about the Old man. I consider Shariif to be a member of the somali government as much as everyone else including A/Y is a member of the government. I don't see why shariif would be treated with animosity just because he has differences with A/Y. When he came to the US, some of A/Y supporters called him a terrorist while they demonstrated in front of where he was staying. No sensible person can blind himself to such blatant bias and hatred for anyone who disagrees with A/Y. In reality, I shouldn't care and keep my thoughts about such people, A/Y and the so called government quite. But I tell ya, the temptation to say something is just too great to resist when I visit places like these. Anyway, many of you know my opinion by now, I guess I should just stop writing and let the loyalists say whatever they please.
  2. Young jeezy, Does Morgan still live in Muqdisho? You called him suicidal few weeks ago for his foolhardiness in staying that town. Anyway, this conpcept of empowering one warlord over the other had been exhausted before. By going to Nairobi, and communities forcing warlords to stay put in the reconciliation meetings whenever they walked out, the hope was to avoid anymore conflicts and bring the somali saga to an end. It came to light that objective wasn't shared across the board and some want their warlord to be more powerful than the rest of the thugs. I think Hiiraale is the coolest for believing in his fellow warlords and trying to bring an end to their useless pickering. They booed him out of the last meeting he participated after he suggested peace with A/Y was the best option as I heard. Very unfortunate.
  3. Duke, The same thing you write about Shariif can be said or written about Ina Geeddi and everyone else who supported government to be based in Jowhar. Tribe has a lot to do with somali politics always. It is the lenses through which almost everyone sees when thinking and talking about politics. The whole government was based on some silly formula to make all tribes happy(as if they would be). Wasn't every warlord elected to a position because they represented a certain clan or subclan supposedly? Even A/Y represented and represents his tribe unless you are in denial. This is why people take everything said about their favourite personal including you.
  4. LOL Imagine me in Xamar with access to a TV and Radio programs that reach over two million?? Hhmmmm! Odaga waa loo yaabaa. My opposition is temporary and depends on the president's conduct. As for ignoring the plight of those in Xamar, does anyone alleviate their problems by inviting more armed conflicts to them? Like I said before, people wanted revenge on the warlords in due time and hoped A/Y would offer them a better chance. They had had enough of warmongering and wanted him to be a better man and side with the littel guys. Instead, he devided people and government, strengthened the hands of weakened warlords and asks for trouble. Dadka qalbigooda qabiil waa ku weyn yahay, so it is silly to look for conflicts at this juncture. The warlords enslave people simply because dhinaca qabiilkey dadka ka maraan and A/Y is fueling the fire. Anyway, enough with A/Y.
  5. Qorsheel, can you explain why Shariif is vilified and not Aidid.Jr? One has issues with A/Y and the other hasn't right? And tomorrow Shariif will be the good guy when he goes to Jowhar and shakes hands with A/Y. When that happens and people who religiously portrayed him as a moron, indecisive, coward and irrelevant in the past praise him for his reconciliation with A/Y, what will you think of these people's judgement about others? Waxaa waaye, sida ka muuqato dad badan dhaqankooda, Nabad, Ammaan, Nacayb, Soo dhoweyn, kalsooni and every human emotion they display solely depends on THE ONE MAN THEY SUPPORT. What kind of mentality is that? We all need government, at the same time, we disagree with anyone who is on the wrong. PS: If you find what I write meaningless, ignore it
  6. Qorshel, the point is, what some in this thread have suggested(the president will/may come to Xamar escorted by his opponents) makes no sense. If it was that simple for him to agree with them and recognize he has to work with them, would he settle in Jowhar and devide the government as he did? The idea for which he went there, which is fully supported by members if his clan like you who don't care how many die eventually at the hands of A/Y, was to invade the town and overpower opponents(he created after election) regardless of the dangers such unnecessary war has for the future of GOVERNMENT. Aadaa u dagaal jecishihiin if you are the supporters of A/Y. Dulmigaa idinka ka batay.
  7. If you are mentally enslaved and can't think on your own, you praise whomever A/Y likes and hate with passion whomever A/Y dislikes. I had seen this mentality before and it is not unique to A/Y's loyal clansmen. Soomalida dhan waa la qabaan. We left a small town in a hurry with our meager personal belongings and went to Baadiye to escape from the onslaught of vicious tribal troops. We stayed in the Jungle for weeks till we were assured the town was safe. We came back and not more than two weeks, the town's people had good things to say about the same leader they were cursing weeks ago who was in charge of the tribal soldiers they fled from. I had no logical explanation for those people's short memories other than that they had cavities in their skulls for a brain. Consequently, whoever was/became a friend to their warlord was a friend no matter what had transpired the days before and happened to them, and whoever fell out of favour with their warlord became THE enemy. They vilified other tribes day and night insessantly, called for the support of their warlord who was supposedly defending them, collected money and spread hate among people, yet, when the warlords(theirs and his opponent) agreed with each other, all animosities and bad mouthing suddenly stopped. I guarantee, we shall see a lot of changes here in the future when these tribalist's perception of reality changes again according to A/Y's whims. If he becomes happy, they will be happy as well. That is sad.
  8. A/Y coming to Xamar without troop escort and no bloody wars through which many innocents are murdered defeats the purpose. How shall we account for the blood some of his clansmen supporters are calling for? It defies logic for him to just come to town escorted by the same men who opposed him. Surely, if he was participating in group-hugs with them, he should have done it without embarrassing himself in the first place. What guarantees will they offer him this time that will change his mind about coming to Xamar? If he didn't trust their word before, how will he do it this time? And Xamar will still be the same when he comes.

Somaliya as we knew it, waxaa kasoo saari kara qabriga lagu aasay, dad ilaahay oo keliya ka cabsanaayo. Inta dadkaas ka imanaayaan, SOOMALINIMO WA DULMI.
  10. Wind.Talker, Number 50 is open because it belongs to Aidid.Jr's sub-clan, and because of his support to A/Y, THE PORT IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS But tomorrow, if he opposes A/Y, There are no guarantees are there? He will be another warlord who has fallen out of grace with the big boss. You made good points although I am afraid, it is not the warlord that feels the brunt of the sanctions but people who used their Airstrips. As you well know, businesses are clan based and tribe oriented, the bad luck of some can cross over to others and before you know it, This could be a new era of economic warfare and the result is unpredictable. You could have more wars among the clans. A/Y doesn't care as long as he gets these morons to kill each other. Imagine Qanyare's tribe and Sawir Dheere's subtribe fighting?
  11. Qorsheel , you forgot I didn't invite you to reply you volunteered because you wanted to defend A/Y and thought you should counter a damaging point made against him. It is okey, do carry on, you don't have to pretend I am twisting your arm for replies. And FYI, signing a paper or making an official request to deprive people of their livelihood, is as offensive and murderous as picking up an actual gun and killing them. Sky I said government first then justice, that is how people will get what they are missing. One way many have regained their property is to go to Xamar themselves and reclaim using relatives and connections, either sell their property afterwards or actually evict the occupiers and then rent it cheaply to people who will take care of it. If you are too afraid to go there, then you belong to the camp to whom I have suggested to wait till a strong government becomes a reality. Before that, stop ululating for the wrong decisions made by Adeerkaa, he is only doing more harm to a good cause. In reality, supporters of A/Y made up their mind about Xamar and about the people who live there, so the only way of thinking for them is to support anything forceful regardless of the effects it is going to have on other people. Qofkaas wax makuu reebtey? If A/Y felt he was innocent, Why would he be afraid to be in Xamar and face his opponents like a man? Is it the people whom he fears or the warlords? He claims the town is not safe, okey, who is responsible for making it safe? According to him, it is the same men he wants to fight against. It would make sense for him to support them instead of fighting them. Waa nin xukun u cabsanaaya oo aan rabin inuu sacrifice sameeyo. All he is doing is actually cause problems for others. Wuxuu rabaa meesha liisho inuu ka dhigto. I just don't like hypocricy and the cries of national interest when I don't see anyone blaming A/Y for his wrongs. Indeed, I am actually talking to people who think A/Y to be higher in statue than everyone else in the government. By that view of theirs, there can be no one who can question whatever any given policy entails if it was made by the man himself. That is how everyone is vilified including men who have no bloody hands. Maxxba warka la isugu daalinaa If you choose a fight with someone, you equated yourself with the person, perhaps A/Y supporters should understnad that their man has chosen to play low himslef and dirty. He should have been the statesman he was elected to be, but he wanted to continue warlordship and fight anyone against him. Anyways, aniga yaan la iila imaan dowlad dowlad ama national interests, I am not interested in it from now on if issues remain the way they are.
  12. Originally posted by Aeronwen: X And it worked for a long time. This is very interesting!! I have the habit of reading meanings that aren't conspicuous. So now I am curious, finally, you couldn't use such defensive mechanism and gave up your little heart? Yea, you are right, I can't gel with every woman who comes my way. However, if I was given the option of producing a qualifying list, it would be impossible to find the kind of woman I want in this world, and I am not alone in this. We all have our own fantasies and perfect partners in our imaginations. Consequently, I tamed my expectations and would/can do with whoever fate pairs me with. That was my point (even if your needs/requirements are exactly the same as every other man's, which, let's face it, they probably are). LOL, What needs are you talking about? Some are shared and some are not. I need beyond the basics of a warm bed and a ready meal Ops LOL. Well, really, it doesn't matter. I don't think of a marriage as easy way of life but tough responsibility. Failure is unacceptable, divorce is out of the question unless the woman asks for it. It won't come from me first no matter how unhappy I become. Finally, women are too much to maintain Ma sahlano, emotional beings, some too clingy, they are sweet and vital for a man's sanity, difficult yet very fragile at the same time. A conundrum for the average joe lol. While you thought of men as beings who can't be trusted unquestionably, and rightfully so, I deal with every woman as innocent unless I am given a reason to change my mind about her. If there is a villain, it is usually me or so I like to think at first. PS: Some women don't deserve good men and should be paired with the bad boy types.
  13. Sky: Horta where have the threats gone of attacking the people in Gaalkacyo? If you are talking about a threat made by others, you should address them. I don't recall making one against Reer Gaalkacyo simply because I don't believe in the Murder of others based on their tribe under any excuse. if Bosaso or Garoowe ama Gaalkacyo were the Capitals, The president was from My tribe, and he wanted to wage a war on those towns just because there were men in those cities unco-operating with the president, I would call off my support because people can not be sacrificed for non-islamic ruling government. It takes one to advocate such plunders to be a blind tribalist A/Y supporter, who under the guise of somali national government, basically gives his blessing anything A/Y wants. As for the best Airport closure by the warlords, Adeerkaa himself would have wanted NOW the closure of it for the same reasons he wants these ones shutdown had it been working. It makes no difference to A/Y. Surely, he doesn't give a rat's behind about who lives in Xamar and depends on them for their livelihood. The more I deal with the likes of you in here, the more I realize why there will be no government. Caddaalad waxba kama taqaannaan. As for Qanyare and Indhacadde taking care of the people A/Y undermined, do you have any doubts they will use the ooccassion for their benefit and rise up to the role of saviours? They will do that and when A/Y gets a bloody nose, they will be themselves again. And the only person to blame for such cycle of meaningless repetitive events is nonother than A/Y who wanted from the beginning a war with these MEN. It seems he might finally get one.
  14. Horn, That is your perception since I have written a comment that is true but unpalatable to you. Government should be an entity that governs with the interest of people at heart, in this case, you have a warlord as president whose mission had ever been to undermine any existing system unless he directly benefitted from it and became the top dog. At present, he is still himself doing the same thing he did in the past. Given these historical facts, are you telling the people to not have fears about the future if they let such a man rule the country with NO strong checks and balances? Saaxib, xoriyadda waa qaali, and there is no somali person today people can trust with leadership without apprehension and fear. That is because all players are corrupted and proved their corruption beyond bale. I honestly view any uncritical A/Y suporter, to be nothing more than someone with blood on his mouth for his advocacy of violence, and given the chance would become a murderer himself. I believe in dadka waxba uusan isku darsan haddaan meesha islaanimo oollin, waayo, you let a somali man rule over you, and you have your life taken away. As for freedom, people have it, it is a question of what they have done with it and going to do with it. Unfortunately, tribalism got the better of them and they devided themselves into sub groups with differing interests, hence, the enless stagnation. There will be a time when they will go beyond that and realize the value of what they have gained. Before that time comes, they should be wary of anyone who doesn't have the characteristics of a just man or someone who doesn't have their interests at heart. They should ignore the hypocritical screams about naitonalism and bury it till there is no corruption. Waxaan maqlay iney dad soomaali ah yiraahdeen hadda ka hor, Gaalba gaal iima dhaammee, aaway keygii galbeed. If what THEY are going to end up is the same dispicable person who lives amongst themselves but a weaker version, why empower the bigger more deadly one who already gave a preview of what he wants to do? A point to ponder for those concerned.
  15. HornAfrique, A/Y would have taken the same anti-Xamar measures had the main airport functioned.. This is not about what kind of Airport works but who has differences with A/Y. The same current policies would have been introduced to punish Atto, Yalaxoow, Qanyare were they responsible for a functional main airport. Their failure as warlords can never be an excuse for another warlord to do as he pleases. At the end of the day, what matters is who is getting affected by the tag of wars A/Y and others are waging on each other. If they can't agree on anything, surely, we will not accept anyone among them to be exalted above the other for such falsely exalted warlord to make policies that affect so many lives negatively. They were all given the opportunity to sit together and have what they loved most without the interference of the average person. If they failed to come to terms, The best solution for them is to go altogether and leave us alone. If not, A/Y can not wage a war of any kind, be it the kind he is engaged in right now or the other he hoped for but wouldn't materialize. There is no feeling in Xamar that there is a national interest at stake for now. All they are worried about is how the city will be able to function businesswise and for people to have access to affordable commodities. National interest will have its day when those who are supposedly responsible for its revivial are not burying it. Have I spoken in favour of main airport being closed? I mentioned it is out of service and can't be used. Normally, as you are aware of the events, you know what that meant. At the same token, A/Y would have done the same thing under the excuse of punishing men he doesn't agree with had such airport functioned. Naturally, the logical question for unbiased person should ask himself is, do people suffer because three men are to be punished, if the answer is yes, Nin waliba tiisa haka tashado, cause, obviously, the death of one doesn't concern the other. There, I lay to rest the national interest under my dirty boots.
  16. HornAfrique, You don't need an excuse to support A/Y's aggressive policies. Don't say others are twisting your arm to offer your support. I wouldn't be surprised or question if you did. Secondly, The airport may belong to a warlord, but people's livelihood depends on them, businesses flourish because of these two airports since the main airport is out of service and can't be used. Marka nin yohow, who is A/Y to make people in Xamar go hungry? This will cause major upset to the business of the town and every sensible person knows this. As such time the so called Government comes in Xamar and takes responsibility, A/Y and his cohorts are just another bloody warlords and they should be bloodied as well. Anyone who supports these actions is nothing but a hypocrite. A/Y is not offering an Alternative to the people other than making their life difficult. And lastly, as hornafrique, YOU WOULD HAVE DIFFERENT THOUGHTS IF A/Y CLOSED KISMAYO AIRPORT. This is pure aggression and people need to take a stand.
  17. We are watching the same old movie again where some blind tribalists are supporting every aggression comitted by a man of their own, excusing everything he does. No wonder that anyone who could piss on the somali FLAG HAS DONE SO to avoid having anything to do with such mentality. And no wonder as well that many have profound contempt for anyone who espouses the concept of Soomaalinimo. Some mentalities never change. It is a good thing for People in Xamar to get a preview of what was coming towards them. Hadda it is one or two airstrip, but later it will be more.
  18. I am afraid, once the wheels start rolling to JOWHAR, there is no turning back. And the only hateful act comes from A/Y who somehow thinks he has the authority to do anything he pleases. But then he will learn like every warmonger who thought he was untouchable has learned in the past, that you don't mess around with people's livelihood and enjoy the peace. PS: The sad part of it will be the people who will fight amongst themselves are relatives.
  19. "The government is not devided anymore" That can be true only if you consider who is in Jowhar to be the only members of government. Shariif is not there yet and other members whose presence can have an impact. Besides, Jowharaa tiriye haddii garoowe caasimadda soomaaliya laga dhigo for good, life will go on in Xamar as usual, won't it? The government won't have a say in what goes on in Muqdisho as well. They will be irrelevant to the city and its population. My only disappointment then would be if the city remains lacking of central authority, but inshallah, that vacuum will be filled by muslims who will take matters into their own hands in the near/far future as things are leaning towards that end. Dowlad awalba looga cabsi qabay dhibaato hor leh iney la timaaddo iyo xorriyad darri, ma kula tahay in lakala jecel yahay magaalada ay ka dhigtaan saldhig? We want this government as far away as they can be but with security in the town. That is our wish. It was the expectation of the people in accepting A/Y's presidency, that the presence of his government in the town might have changed matters for the better. Now that is not available, what difference will A/Y and his government make in Muqdisho? Nothing. Ina Geeddi proved his inherent ineptitude. It had been the norm for the likes of him to rely on others later when they get fried. Xoolanimadiisa, he is happy with A/Y's betrayal to his birth town and happy with his role as a piecemouth. Dadnimada waa loo kala dhashaa. Some are cajoled that this government is theirs, and they basically come along for the ride without foresight accepting anything dished out to them. I hope dadka xamar deggan iney helaan si dhaqsiyo leh central authority. They know how to make a living and never relied on corrupt government to give them what they want. Naturally, there is no reason to bleed for the absence of A/Y and his crew if they decided the town isn't for them. As for freedom of business and ability to import goods from outside the country, it is an open border. Jowhar groups better not think about controlling it(which they can never do anyway). If they do however, it is back to war. Siyad Barre waxyaalaha loola diriray waxaa ka mid ahaa, cunaqabateyn xag dhaqaale iyo lack of business freedom, with the exception of few individuals who imported goods to the country, The rest had difficult time taking any substantive steps towards progress. So, what makes this corrupted individuals masquarading as government officials again any different if they try to impose such limitations on people just because there is political disagreement? It will be "give me death or give me liberty" always as it had been.

  21. Things are getting better, there is no reason to be pessimistic.
  22. Saaxiib, nice history. In my uneducated mind(about the history), I thought all these troubles started recently. I thought somalis were better in those early days. Anyhow, to answer your question, waxaan waa qornaayeen. If some somalis were unhappy with the way government seats were shared back then, events would have turned progressively worse. Lama waayeen wax dagaal sameeyo iyagoo ku andacoonaayo in wax xaq ay u lahaayeen loo diidey. Isn't this how armed rebellion started anyway after a while?
  23. Speaking of donkeys, Hadda ka hor waxaa la dhahay(la yidhi), nin baa ka tagay Xamar oo u aaday shaqo-qaran magaalada Garoowe. Subax walba markuu aroorta hore soo kaco, ayuu wuxuu arki jirey magaalada dhinaceeda shishe gees ka gees oo dameero daaqaayaan(qaarna is eryoonaayaan). Markii hore wuxuu u qaatey in Dameeraha dad leeyihiin oo la ilaashanaayo. Muddo ka dib ayuu wuxuu ogaadey in Dameeraha cidna raacan. After a while, wuxuu go'aansadey inuu tiro koob ku sameeyo inta cadadda dameeraha la eg yihiin. Saaxiibbadii oo magaalda uu ku bartey ayaa waxay la yaabeen buugga ninkan subax walba uu la dheelmado/jarmaado oo duurka uu la'aado waxa uu ku sameeyo. Markii su'aasha laga badiyey, yuu ku yiri asxaabtiisii: "War niman yohow, waxaan rabaa markaan Xamar ku Noqdo, Inaan la imaado gawaari aan ku rarto DAMEERAHA si'aan uga beec mushtaro". Sheekadaan iney run tahay iyo in aniga la'iigu dan lahaa ma aqaan, laakiin it sounded plausible(considering the business mentality of some folks) and we had fun listening to it on our lunch break at work. Wind.Talker Garoowe ma laga helaa dameero or the guy was pulling my leg? Mise fardo besaa daaqo oo dameero lagama helo?
  24. All-Ubaahne, Did you miss "BY DOROTHY PARKER"? Ngonge is quoting someone.
