  1. Flipmode, You are wrong in your implications. Although I can not often contradict the obvious when I am told a certain guy had a somali girlfriend or has one now, I still don't let them degrade a sister in my presence to that level. I actually hasten the conversation and change subjects because I do feel embarrassed by the fact that they have to assume I do care knowing about it. I should have cared really but it makes no sense or little one to hold on to old sentiments. The days when somali women were for somali guys are over, so I might as well get on with the program LOL. Ahura I was NOT implying I know too much of anything but realized your distinct take on somali men. You sounded familiar under Ahura You are habitually harsh Abaayo. Liked the cantrabaqash word. I am impressed you know about the word LOL.
  2. Ahura, I related verbatim and in their own words, what nonsomali guys whom I work with say about Somali girls and why they like them. It is all about good looks and for some of these men who struck up conversations with the girls, they reported sweetness in demeanor as well. I didn't say somali men are perfect and the implication you alleged has to do a lot with your made-up mind about somali men than it has to do with what I have said I see your previous name at the bottom. I knew it! LOL. Anyway, Abaayo, do you ever have a good thing to say about somali men in General?
  3. Ahura, While you were busy penning down your elaborate reply to my prior posts, I submitted another more interesting one few minutes ago. Why don't you read that one as well and fire back again darling? I am laughing at your funny reply. Really sweet and funny lol. Come on now, you don't need to be offended by the truth. Everyone likes somali women and wants to have a piece of them We all know that. And some girls are more prone in relishing the attention than others How unjust is that? Besides, you can read some of the poster's views and you have less to feel picked on Abaayo. PS: Did you go by other name before?
  4. Sis Rahima I only conveyed the reason foreign men like somali women. The combination of good features and the pure african complexion that defy the norms along with the sweetness such men are treated with by the girls(And I am not advocating they should be rude or it is wrong to be nice). Somali girls look exotic in their eyes and are sweet. That is what they tell me as a friend anyway. It is always "Hey, Hamdi looks great and is sweet, can you hook me up with her"? Some even have pictures of somali girlfriends to show around sis and I am not kidding. It is not only young girls even experimenting the difference. One day I was depositing money into my account and the teller asks me if I was a somali. I replied yes. She was around 22 agewise and proceeded to tell me few words in somali. I curiously asked who taught her. She said her father's somali grilfriend. Can you imagine that sis? It is not shocking anymore and everyone is bragging about somali grilfriends both mature and young. Oh well. And I don't mean to say somali guys don't date or run after white women. Some of them do. It is just not that many of them who do it and marriage by them to these women is rare in our area. A somali guy may screw around with others but I suspect if they would whisper into an ethiopian girl's ear and say: "I was scared at first, I thought you were SOMALI, thank god you are not"
  5. Most Adult swim Cartoons are good. They come on late at night in my world and I sleep less, so I watch them. Family guy is funny, I saw "Stewie Griffin, The Untold Story". I also like The Full Metal Alchemist. Hahaha, who knew Xoogsade watches cartoons
  6. Well saxib, it is the hobby one has and the life-style that leads mostly to the love of others. This applies to both boys and girls. It makes sense for them to pair up or entertain the idea of other likeminded beings. The exception are the few somali ladies with kids mostly, divorced and marry outside the somali race availing themselves to the opportunity. That is quite understandable. But for others in the first group, Horaan usii fogeyneynaa instead awalba nooma tirsaneen nooh LOL. Ha u macaato saxib.
  7. If you ask somalis who had been to that road of experimenting other cultures, even when their partner was a muslim, most of them would tell you it is not worth it and you should stick to your own kind for a lot of reasons. If beauty, and for some, good sex(mostly for the young girls) is what people aim for in marrying others, then for the sake of posterity, ensuring the future of the kids as somalis and keeping family relationships solid are worthier causes to stay moored to the somali shores runtii. Somali women are beautiful because of somali men Without the somali male seed, she wouldn't look what she looks like would she? And all the americans I work with come to me asking for few somali words to impress the somali girls because as they tell me, they are enthralled by the looks. For these other nonsomali males, it is all about the looks and wanting the somali girl naked in their bed for their satisfaction, nothing beyond that feeling, a feeling common to all animals. What kind of life will that be I wonder? to be tauted to others as the coloured sexy chick while her white patron pretends to be liberal in nailing the clueless xaliimo? Anyhow, We shall keep to our somali girls for posterity and duly accept the blessed role of keeping our name and culture forever present on the world while some of you young girls get to experiment their fantasies and desires as they please. Fadlan, be comfortable when you pump into us somali males and you are with a white/black guy, cause, it is NOT our business. I am more embarrassed by your reactions as if you saw a ghost than the fact that your company looks foreign
  8. Socod-Badne, Prophet Noah lived 950 plus years. How do we explain that in comparison to today's average lifetime of 70 years with access to advanced medicine which allegedly plays a role in prolonging life? Does curing a desease mean delaying the time of death? Can you explain why some healthy people die in their sleep while others who suffer from incurable ailments do carry on living? PS: If was given the option to choose a time of death, I would be happy with Sixtish
  9. Gallaydh, by far, is the most optimistic Somali politician I have listened to his thoughts. I never met him but heard him talk on the radio the other day. People tend to be pessimistic about the future and suffocate us with tales of doom to justify their shortsighted agendas when there is hope and the country seems to be coming together albeit in slow motion. His ideas were safe and patriotic. He sounded to have more faith in Somalis than in our neighbouring Ethiopia and mentioned how the country at large enjoys relative peace though progress in Some towns like Muqdisho needs to occur. You have to respect such a man who keeps his soul untainted and protected from the evil who whispers into his peer's ears.
  10. Foxy Will have difficult time finding a Somali man. And you know why? The Older ones won't cook for a woman and the younger lads are just as ignorant of cooking as most young girls are ignorant of the skill anyway. Ever saw a somali boy being Taught how to cook? He is told the kitchen is off limits and only girls are welcome there. There are few exceptions where some families teach their kids to fend for themselves and devide house responsibilities equally among children. There are conditions that force a somali man to cook, when he is single and lives far away from female relatives. And even then, restaurants are preferable to the stove LOL@Learning new TRICKS. I wonder what those tricks entail?
  11. I had seen once a man who was praying in Somali. He was praying loudly and I paid careful attention to what he was saying. It turned out that he was literally reading the opening chapter of the Quran(Fatixa) in Somali. I was amazed by that. Then when Rukuuc came, He was uttering the literal translation of the arabic words "Subxana Rabiyal Cathiim" in Somali as well. He continued praying that way. I wasn't sure if I wanted to laugh or stop the man from the prayer and ask him why he wanted to pray in a such way. Then I changed my mind because something seemed odd about him. When I left the mosque, and the location was a small town in Somalia, I recounted what I saw to My uncle. He told me that the man was mentally disturbed and was known for his method of prayers. I was amazed by the accuracy of his literal translation of the quran and all other words acceptable in prayer without a pause or thinking. It left me with such deep impression and admiration for the sick man that I used to ask about him every time I met someone who came from that small Town later on. I conclude this post with a question, Arabic is the language of islam and muslims should learn it, however, in some instances, we see some old somalis who have tough times reading the Fatixa. Would such people be served better if they prayed in Somali while they make the effort to learn it in Arabic? Prayer can not be postponed and even on one's death-bed, he is required to pray. So, what is the solution for such a person who can't learn Arabic fast enough and who wants to pray without delay? Modesty www.Aflax.net Your somali must be advanced I warn you. Mutakallim Anna gabaraan lahaa aa siisid(and she likes you already), adna waabad sii socotaa ee sidee waaye saxib? I like reading your posts. You should stick around.
  12. Nice suit for The TFG President, I like the colour, Blue or is it navy Blue?
  13. Xoogsade

    Dilemma

Sheherazade The word "Cool" was to express how the man handled a potentially explosive situation. It doesn't justify anything wrong or dereliction of duties as Dino Castro put it You are right that in some aspects, maintaining a long distance polygamous relationship can cause one to be negligent. And that wasn't the case in the kind of marriage my relative had if you were specifically referring to him. I don't expect to see a girl accepting without a protest her husband marry another woman if he wants to, nonetheless, it is/was interesting to read your reactions on the issue. Halaaba dhibkeeda laga bixi karin in my book. I actually don't believe marriage is the way to a happy life if a man or a woman was marrying just for that reason Only.
  14. Somalida jaahiliin badan ha lahaadeene, dumarka uma xuma. I say this because I tuned in to MPR on my way to work. The program happened to be about Honor killings in Iraq which are on the rise. A girl gets kidnapped, her captors demand ransom or they release her, upon the girl's return, instead of a welcome party, one of the men in the family kills her simply because she is suspected to have been raped although that might not be the case. The more shocking part of the tragic facts narrated in the program is how all the Iraqi men who were interviewed, one being the killer, were saying unanimously culture is stronger than Islam and the girl is to be killed. One of them said the pain of letting her live far more surpasses than the pain of sacrificing her to save the family honor. I honestly think some societies worship the women's heymen. How else can you explain an obsession to such extent?
  15. Xiinfaniin, I thought I came across as one with extreme hate for government even if I don't support Warlords like Yalaxoow and Atto. I am surprised you think of me this way saxib. To be sure, I don't like all forms of government unless you can put your trust in its leadership and you know for certain they will deliver for their society and make the necessary sacrifice. The People-And-Country first type of leadership if you get my drift. Nonetheless, I wouldn't be bothered if Somalis do with what they have got now in the form of the TFG if it works for them. The success of this TFG depends on its avoidance of wars and ensuring people are not isolated because of Atto and Yalaxoow who reside in their middle. That is all we want. These personal differences(or Ideas as C/Y likes to put it) to not spill over to the average person in the form of a war. No one wants to fight on behalf of anyone else today and people are beyond tribal sentiments. Dowladdaan wax u caqli celiyo ee rabtaa nooh saaxib oo dhaho dagaalka ka joog. Cause, a war will serve only those who want eternal mayhem for their benefit. We want to deny them such opportunities if we can get Old Hag A/Y to slow down. PS: Taageerayaashiisana hanaga daayaan in duqa malaa'ig yahay That upsets me you know LOL. PSS: Setting aside the politics, I could learn from you. That is much more valuable to me than political squabbles I may have with someone.
  16. Hey Bro, I will not be offended if you say your opinion of me in public. Me and Rahima are not the same of course. I don't think of me as an example setter. I am here mostly to challenge people who are obviously biased in their disposition.
  17. Hey Bro, I am waiting an explanation from Xiin in case you missed that part. There is no need to appease anyone in this medium as the return of such investment amounts to nothing. In fact, by writing that I thought you may laugh and say something funny in return. Lighten up a little old man. And your advice is well taken. I have principles and will stand by them no matter. PS: I will tell you my opinion about the issue if you are interested. If not, I will refrain.
  18. Thanks for the links. I was asking myself why Belgium would be coming there before the Italians showed up with their ambassador. It all makes sense. And btw, A/Y refused to meet the UN representative after they disagreed on some policy issues. He wants a lift of the weapons ban while the UN rep disagreed with that. Nabad galyaa la sugaa kulahaa and they need the weapons. Now it is back to the drawing board again of "we will fight you if you come in with force, and no, we don't care, cause we will fight you regardless".
  19. No, the increase has to do a lot with the lack of corrupt government who stands in the way of progress. The nightmarish economic stagnation of the past and being forced to pursue official papers that would never materialize before people became bunkrupt are about to come back. I remember as a kid the lines at the immigration office snaking through Shibis and people sleeping there for days before they even see anyone who tells them the office is closed. Kuwaan ilaahay hanooga soo gargaaro. Waa daruur Mugdi oo dadka dul taagan and Only god knows what its rain will look like once it pours. There are too many reasons to be wary. We need a whole new generation who understands government is for the people and by the people which is how a country progresses. The fact that the current leadership fought to rule is enough reason to be wary of the future. Just imagine the difficulty people will face if they have to go to one town for everything they need from government? That alone will cause a set back and discontent.
  20. Bro Xiin, You asked me "Are you still struggling on the issue of political capital invested in Haaraam, good Xoogsade? Ma fahmin the Political Capital part of the question. If you can extrapolate on that, I will give my reply to it. You are not online during weekends I noticed, So may be on Monday and beyond. And you can open a thread for us or I will. Dhibkaada wa ka helaa lol. Suffice it to say you and Castro are more Xamarawi than I can be. Haroowsi waaye warkeyga iyo daandaansi. Castro Are you caught red handed or it is a joke? Isbitaalka ma ka weentahay? I don't know when it was built. Best sentence in this thread: Kashanre, give up the loot lol.
  21. Logically, if someone gets frustrated with a lack of progress of a town he holds dear, and cares about its residents, that same person would jump to the flicker of radiance and hope coming out of that same town any day. Contrary to that, those who are all blame will come out violently against a mere link that shows the organization for the blind open in Muqdisho, the AIDS Awareness campaign the city held, or the Schools and Colleges open in the town, Or the civil meetings inwhich residents discuss how to solve their problems. Such steps-forward-in-the-right-direction can never be enough, but they are worth mentioning. It seems such movements and steps are not important but the death of someone by a faithless thug, who would murder his mother anyway, gets their attention simply because such negative news advances their causes. Muqdisho needs a strong hand which transcends tribe oriented government to bring together the devided hearts and minds, at the same time, it is a far cry from the graveyard depiction and the image of its people's cannibalism many propagate to advance their causes. Yoonis. Adiga Rahiimaa ku qafiiftey.
  22. Scientist, Many who are more valuable, more intellectual, more faithful, more dignified men and women went back to Muqdisho to serve their communities. I doubt if togane would be noticed at all. The people who run all the important institutions that serve the public such as the hospitals, the schools, those who give the town and its residents the electricity, the running water, the individuals whose entrepreneurship gave the city a life are more intellectual than Togane can ever be and they are prominent in their communities. All togane is worth is to appeal to the likes of you who rejoice at the insults heaped on others. Besides, people get killed every where in the world and some western cities actually do have a higher murder rate than the whole Somalia combined in a year. LOL@60 Cent Indhacadde lool., First of all, you can quote me again by searching my thoughts about him. I heard about a warlord Indhacadde in the past but not Sheekh indhacadde belonging to the dismantled Al-Itixad. So the Sheekh title and the association with Al-Itixad made me hesitant. They were also grouping him with Sheekh Uweys. I don't think Qof ahlu towxiid ah inuu Warlord noqonaayo if you understand what "Ahlu Towxid" means anyway. I had to make sure, as required when you get news from unreliable sources, that the Alleged Sheekh is not Actually the Warlord I heard his name mentioned before. Bottomline, if you had respect for Togane, you would have rejected his obvious self-hate and unwarranted insults of a whole tribe he can not in any logical explanation collectively blame for everything that is wrong with himself. I surely do know, the likes of you despise him for his tribe. Marka, maxaa beenta ku faleysaa? he feeds your particular mind no less.
  23. Caamir, No I haven't, and even if I saw it depicting Muqdisho as inhospitable, still, that won't make this government a success and an istitution for all. After all, if they sell it to be a government for Somalia, it should look, talk and operate like one. They can't remove the whole city off the map to be done with it for good, can they? No, right? What are the plans they have for it supposedly it is important to them believing their hypocrisy? Will its residents sleep till its name is forgotten if the so called govermnet never comes? Surely no. Muqdisho will remain a force to reckon with as it is today in terms of economy, education and everything that its capable residents can provide to their neighbours, friends and relatives. The warlord era has withered long ago and they remain political ghosts, only good to bother their likes on the other side of the devide. Beneath the surface, Islam is getting stronger in Muqdisho and we hope it comes in with thunder one day. There is a lot to live for in the town while some of you sing its doom because of personal grudges you harbour. Shameful indeed. The best thing they can do now for Muqdisho is to avoid engaging in anything threatening to its livelyhood. As long as that doesn't happen, peace will prevail as Muqdishowers of today, as they were in the past, are capable of living without relying on anyone but on their creator. Lastly, if Jowhar becomes a bostonlike town, it is a somali town that belongs to the future generations coming after this. Perhaps more islamic one. What is there to feel bad about that huh? Progress is one thing, hypocrisy is another.
  24. When are they gonna vacate that school and reopen it for the kids of Jowhar? That will be progress on the ground. Also, a great day for Somalia which can be celebrated is when this government has a presence in full force in every city and town as peacemakers and show they care. Since devision exists, many don't relate to the so called success. I am not in celebratory mood just yet. The significance of this government for me is when it has and shows the willingness to work with others if they are willing and for everyone else. Then there is that policy of hostility towards islam where they have representatives of ethiopian military training the police how to fight terrorism according to the bbc documentary.
  25. LOL, I tried hard to supress my laughter to avoid drawing unnecessary attention upon reading this thread. Of all things quoted by Xiin and Alle-Ubaahne, the big eyes have magical aspects to them.
