"One of six children from a devout family that emigrated from Sudan in 1992, Ahmed has, unlike older siblings, never had to eat only one meal a day. He has two parents at home. We are all savages whose god is the Qabiil and whose religion is the Qabyaalad. We are using every trick in the book to continue our savagery and madness. Somalis have been fighting, killing and destroying people and things for centuries. We contribute nothing to civilization. We are the disgrace of humanity and sadly on the pages of SOL we continue to perpetuate the curse - Shabaab, qabiil, are all curse and the men who are leading this are your uncles, fathers and they do use your sons and brothers.

Missing Somali men may have romanticized their homeland by Laura Yuen, Minnesota Public Radio, Sasha Aslanian, Minnesota Public Radio March 2, 2009 Young Minnesotans of Somali descent have tried to make sense of the disappearances of about a dozen men from the Twin Cities. And they may have an inside perspective: Teens and 20-somethings who were born in the Horn of Africa -- but spent most of their lives in the United States -- share a generational past with the young men whose families fear are fighting with Islamic militants. St. Paul, Minn. — Mohamud Galony was born 23 years ago in Somalia. But he grew up playing basketball and PlayStation in Minneapolis. And while he can speak Somali, he thinks in English. Ramla BileHe says the same goes for his 18-year-old nephew, Mustafa Ali. "He doesn't know a whole lot about Somalia," Galony said. "He grew up in Michigan and here. He's the kind of kid who's into video games. Even right now, it's still a myth to us, that my little nephew is in Somalia." Ali disappeared last August from his St. Paul home. He told his sister he was going to the laundromat but never came back. Galony often thinks what is going through his nephew's mind. "I could really see Mustaf waking up right now, saying, 'What did I get myself into?'" - Mohamud Galony, on his nephew Mustafa Ali, one of the missing"I could really see Mustaf waking up right now, saying, 'What did I get myself into? How can I go back home to my family?" Galony said. Ali's disappearance has unleashed intense speculation within the Somali community about what may have happened. Ramla Bile, wearing a copper-colored hijab and a billowing skirt, blends into an industrial-hip Somali restaurant in Minneapolis. Bile grew up in the Twin Cities suburb of Apple Valley and graduated from the University of Minnesota. She has been following every twist of the story as a reporter for the community radio station KFAI -- and as the co-founder of United Somali Movement, a group whose members are all under 35. Even though Bile is an insider to the community, it's been hard to nail down the facts. "Before the story had broke out, we knew for about a month that this had happened and that people had left," she said. "But I think what we were ignorant of, or what was a complete mystery to us was: Who? Who funded [the trips]? Who recruited?" DEFENDING A HOMELAND Bile says she vaguely understands why the young men may have left. She says people had been talking about bringing change to wartorn Somalia for a long time. And the U.S.-backed invasion of Somalia by Ethiopian troops in 2006 rallied her community. Bile says a response was "inevitable." Somali hub"We were hearing stories of rapes and looting of civilian property," she said. "It didn't surprise me, actually, that there were some in the community who felt this was an appropriate way to engage with this conflict." She thinks some young men in her community must have romanticized the idea of "liberating" their homeland. Families of the missing suspect their sons and nephews have joined forces with an Islamic militia known as Al-Shabaab. It means, literally, "The Youth." But perhaps few Somali-Americans understood just how dangerous this group was. A string of attacks last October changed everything. FBI chief Robert Mueller last week confirmed that authorities think 27-year-old Shirwa Ahmed of Minneapolis blew himself up last fall in Somalia -- and the FBI thinks someone recruited him in Minnesota. Ahmed is believed to be the first U.S. citizen to carry out an overseas terrorist suicide bombing. Last month, Al-Shabaab carried out a suicide attack in Mogadishu, killing at least a half-dozen Burundi peacekeepers. 'AHMED IS DEAD' Nimco Ahmed, 26, no relation to Shirwa Ahmed, remembers the moment when she first learned what became of her old high school friend. She had picked up a newspaper last fall and saw Shirwa Ahmed's picture. She called up a mutual friend that day. "I don't know if you checked the paper today, but Ahmed is dead," she recalls telling her friend. "They just brought his body back from home." Nimco Ahmed, who now works as a policy aide for the Minneapolis City Council, says she lost touch with Shirwa Ahmed after high school. But from a distance, she noticed a quiet transformation. "He looked different. He grew a big beard," she said. "Ahmed got quite a bit religious. And there's nothing wrong with it. It's actually seen very positively in our community." Ahmed says everyone, including her, is torn by the humanitarian crisis in her homeland. But while she is hopeful that education and advocacy will eventually bring stability to Somalia, she thinks her old friend must have felt despair or anger. "Even as young adults, I think we ought to be responsible for our actions," she said. "Ahmed was smart, and if there were people who recruited him to do this, he should have talked to someone and asked for help." INSIDE A MOSQUE Tucked next to a bar on the West Bank of Minneapolis is Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center. It's just past 6 p.m. on a Friday, and the student group is holding a weekly meeting. They're planning a youth conference, and they produce a monthly newspaper for the mosque. Fartun Ahmed, a first-year student at Century College, is leading the meeting. Ahmed says the recent disappearances have created a backlash against mosques. She learned this while handing out her newspaper to Somali women at a local mall. One of the woman declined, saying she would not read the publication because it came from a mosque. "When I asked her [why], she was like, 'Because of the boys who left,'" Ahmed said. "And that kind of shocked me. That was the first time I heard that it was even associated with a mosque. I go to a mosque, and I'm here almost every day, literally, and nobody takes me into a corner and brainwashes me." Ahmed says while she doesn't understand why the young men left, she says many young Somali-Americans are struggling with an identity crisis. "Most of us now have grown up in this country, but I mean, going to a public school where 90 percent of the class doesn't look like you or doesn't speak the same the same language as you -- we're Muslims, we pray five times a day, and not everybody does that. So you're going to struggle." Ahmed's friend, Maryan Yusuf, says the disappearances have been a wake-up call for Somali families. "One good thing that came out of it was that now the parents are realizing, 'What are the problems with the youth?'" Yusuf said. "They want to be active in it. They want to know what's going on. They want to help." Yusuf says her parents don't have to worry about her boarding a plane to Somalia. She hasn't been dwelling too much on terrorist attacks. Yusuf and the other members of the student group say they're too busy planning a youth conference and a bake sale. http://minnesota.publicradio.org/display/web/2009/ 03/02/somali_youth/

Somali teens share thoughts on disappearances by Michael Caputo, Minnesota Public Radio March 9, 2009 The investigation continues into why a dozen or so young Somali men disappeared from the Twin Cities and are believed to be fighting in Somalia. MPR's Michael Caputo spent some time with three teenagers -- the kind of kids who attend class regularly, play sports and hold part-time jobs. He asked the teens what they know -- or what they've heard -- about the disappearances of those young men. http://minnesota.publicradio.org/display/web/2009/ 03/09/somali_teens/

Al Shabaab we will continue the struggle : Is Abu Mansuur no longer a hero?
money replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
Abu Mansuur had a noble cause to fight against the occupiers and the traitors- The honeymoon with the occupiers is off now and inshallah once they withdraw all Somali freedom fighters would come to the negotiation table to sort the factional and ideological differences out and work on a viable plan to restore peace and stability in the land...that is my "wishful thinking" even though the Somalis sadly miss the opportunity to rise above their petty divisions and differences. Whether you align yourself with one faction or not --- we are all into this ...so we have better to come up with "Somali" solution and stop relying on foreign actors. -
Nin Abeeso koriyoow ama keenoo adigaa u aayiye axdi ma leh abasiiniya lagu aaminaa ---- that was a Somali saying - ha ka xaaxaabiyaano nimankii itoobiyaan dalka keenay oo dadka ku laayay in iyagana la qararamsado waa ku macdahay -

Finally, the warlord-president who has been on the center stage of the nasty Somali politics for the past painful two decases, has caved into pressure from all sides. We may enjoy and celebrate his inevitable fall; taunt his cheerleaders and make fun of their clannish blind loyalty for the heck of it but we need to think beyond this and be visionaries and not engage the silly name-calling and Qabiil bashing. On the face of Yeey resignation, I think it is a positive development but now Yeey who many considered as an impediment to peace no longer controls the destiny and fate of Somalia, so the question that naturally comes to mind is what is next? Who can we trust to lead us out of this tragedy of self-destruction? Are we about to repeat the same old-age Somali mistakes of replacing one warlord with another, one crook with another? Are we going to surrender to the wishes of our enemies or to whims of our clannish instincts? Are we going to put our trust on the same faction leaders who put us into this hell on the first place? Remember they are all around and vying for power. None is better than the other, be they Islamists or clan bozos. Are we going to allow the same petty Somali politicians’ caprices in appointing the next leader? We are at the crossroads now. We can choose to continue the same ****** clan rivalries and thus prolong our suffering. What mechanisms can we be put into motion to make sure that the selection of a responsible and diplomatic person to this important position is not based on clan vendettas or factional partisanship? I think that the replacement of warlord Yusuf with another warlord should be thrown into the trashcan. There is going to be the doubling of the transitional federal parliament with groups of Islamist as the Djibouti accord of power sharing stipulates. how would that work? Can some of you political heads comment on this and contemplate on the next step and how we could all salvage Somalia...forget Yeey's downfall for now....

The Somali flag is amazingly beautiful. I have it on my living room, on top of the TV beside the Holly Book (Quran) A friend of mine likes to say that each one of us is a thread of the flag ( dunta calanka) and each one should keep his thread clean from the dirt (Clan BS) and don't take your thread out - (ha go'in, ha goboleeysan )

One saturday night, my auntie's husband, Sabato, who was Italian drove me to Lido Night Club. He was married to Eedo Asli. Actually, she is not my real Eedo but we call her Eedo since she treats us with sweets and candies from Italia every now and then. I sometimes go to her place to play with her only daughter, Sabrina. Sabrina has plenty of toys and bikes. I like to bike. Sabrina sometimes gives me kisses and Sabato too gives me kisses and soccer balls to kick. One special saturday night, that I will never forget, Mr. Sabato took me for a ride and then to Lido club. It was a horrible night that still haunts me up to now. I was just small boy. In Lido, the club stuff won't let me to the main bar and dance floor. Kids are not allowed to be there anyways. So I stayed out at the dinnig balcony like all other Somali and white kids, most of them Italian. There were many people there having dinner and chatting in Italian. I spoke some Italian. Mr.Sabato left me with some other kids and told me to sit quiet and behave until he comes back from the bar. The sea was calm and there was just lovely breeze. There were people on the sandy beaches, some walking, others sitting. There was specially a couple, a Somali girl and Italian man, sitting and kissing each other. They were laughing and necking.Sometimes the Somali girls sits over the Italain man and sometimes she stands up and throws herself into the man's hands. I watched them and other scenery and stuff that was going on the beach. I ate, drank and enjoyed until my autie's hubby told me to come. There was this familiar skinny girl with him. She was the same girl on the beach playing with the Italian man. But somehow, she was not as playful and buubly as she was moments before. She had a sad face and seemed drunk. The girl was wearing some skimpy clothing and was half naked. Now I could see her dark smooth skin very clearly. I first thought she was the maid but then it hit me. She is one of the regulars of the club; you know those party girls who prey on foreign man, sleep with them for money and or maybe a ticket out of Africa and its misery. Eedo Asli told us she used to hang in the clubs and hang with a lot of Italian men before Uncle Sabato fell in love with her and decided to marry her. Her family first rejected the idea but then she gave them a lot of money and built her family a huge villa. They wanted Sabato to convert to Islam but that never happened. Back to Lido and the spiritied girl. Her called her Sofia. All of sudden, her mood changed and she smiling and not sad any more. I though she was kind slutty and very social, if you know what I mean. She even winked me and forced me to give her a hug. She hold me very tight and I could smell alcohol from her breath. Mr. Sabato told me that we would drop Sofia at her place. It was close to midnight when we arrived in her neighborhood which was not that far from Lido. She lived in Campo Amharo, a very rough and poor ghetto along the Lido coast. Mr. Sabato told me to get off the car. As I was doing this, he opened the trunk and pulled up a big heavy bag. He put the bag at the corner of the street and instructed me to wait him and watch the bag. " I will be back within a minute, OK?" He assured me. He told me that he will take Sofia to her place around the corner and he doesn't want people to see her getting off the car with an Italian man. They would think she is bad girl. I asked him what was in the bag. "clothes and stuff, be a god boy and wait for me..OK" He said and rushed back to the car and took off. I stood there, doing nothing but after five minutes, I decided to sit. It was really dark and I began to get scared; the total darkness and silence sorrounding me was that scary. I sit and stood once a while as time passed. Then I got impatient, scared and worried when uncle Sabato would be back. I started to shiver as it was getting cold. I thought to myself maybe there are sweaters I could use to cover myself in the bag. I really didn't know what was in the bag. Before I could open it, I kicked it to feel what was inside. To my surprise I heard a sound, a baby crying, and it was coming from the bag. I rushed to open the bag and inside was this baby crying loud. A cute baby girl, just maybe few weeks old. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The silence was gone and so was my feeling cold. As I picked the poor baby, I heard people's voices coming from every direction. I could hear them saying " yeah he is the one, catch him.... he is the one who leaves b.a.s.t.a.r.d babies here, in the open, every night" The crazy cowd sorrouded me, yelling and mad at me, carrying sticks, knives and swords and shouting " Beat him, he is the b.a.s.t.a.r.d who dumps baby b.a.s.t.a.r.ds here all the time" "beat him and punish him".. I was so scared and couldn't ever say one word. I tried to put the screaming baby down but a big man told me not to. " Ha dhigin we.ce.lka dhulka, we.cel.yahow" One small boy threw a stone and hit me but it wasn't hard enough to hurt me. Another man strike me with his stick at at the head, A blood gushed so fast from my forehead and spilled over to the baby's face. I was hurting and bleeding badly this time. The baby was crying the whole time. I wantedi to throw him nd run as fast as I can. Then for a second, a man asked everyone to shut up and stay still. He started to ask me questions. "what is your name boy" he asked me. Shocked and scared, "Sahal" I said. Then he asked me several questions that could be summed where did I get the baby and why do I dump the babies in their neighborhood? I answered that I don't do that and I don't know what he is talkig about. As I statred to explain him that I was tricked and left here by my Auntie's Italian hubby, he ordered me to hand the baby to a lady in the crowd and go back to where I was standing. Then he ordered the crowd. "go, get him!"

Duration of the experiment: 1 to 2 minutes Props: Toilet & glass of water. Hundreds of thousands of years, the vast majority of humans lived and died without trying this experiment - Very sad indeed. So I call my fellow Solers to not just live and die without doing this. It may sound silly first but after you do it, you would definitely have an out-of-body experience. The experiment is extremely simple, straightforwad and interesting. Like every one else, you drink and you urinate. But what you don't know is how and what it feels like to do both, that is drink and urinate at the same time. This is how it is done. Promise me you will post your experience results and what you observed here. So, just have a glass of water at hand when you are about to leak, As soon as you begin to urinate, start drinking the water. You should try to drink the water straight down without pausing. It doesn't matter if you are sitting or standing. Just keep drinking as you URINATE. You will have this bizarre feeling and sensation almost immediately. The urine you evacuate seems to be synchronized with the water entering your mouth. No, it won't feel like you drinking your own piss but the other way. You feel like you just evacuating the water you drink down to the toilet automatically, without any interruption. You will visualize this and above all, you feel that your body is well organized in a way which you had never imagined before. The water you drink seems to exit directly from your bladder. In few seconds you will feel directly wired from throat to urethra, from stomach to bladder , a physiology that is impossible but you created and imagined through this simple experience. It just takes few minutes to discover this body experience, you bypass everything in between, no kidneys, no liver, no filteration, no intestines, no waiting, just water from your mouth to vertically pass through you. You can have more and expand this. Shower, smoke, drink and leak at the same time. You shower from shoulders down and use both hands: one to smoke, the other to drink...have the shower on and leak as you drink. Smoking weed would complicate things - cigars are the recommended. Back in Somalia, we used to this in rain or while swimming at the sea.

lot of holes and vague articles on this fakeand alien charter? I see so many things wrong with it that are not practical in Somalia. There needs a revision to be made on the powers of each fake government organ be it fake presidency, fake executive or make-believe legislative bodies. This was Ethiopian sponsored warlord-infested stooge transition and a more than 95% of its fake articles have not even been implemented - just fake warlord inspired articles on paper. As the job of the fake stooge PM,, his nomination and dismissal, it is clear who can nominate him and who can dismiss him. Warlord Parliament can legislate the stooge Council of Ministers. Clan based warlord parliament can dismiss the stooge PM and that is only the warlord parliament. Warlord stooge President is there only to sign papers on his desk and if he doesn't do that, then it means he is incapable of conducting the duties of his fake-presidency-office. and if he can't comply with what the council of ministers submit, then he should be impeached. This is how I understand the whole Ethiopian-written-fake-warlord-charter!
