Thought this was kinda funny ... Items And Their Gender SWISS ARMY KNIFE -- male, because even though it appears useful for a wide variety of work, it spends most of its time just opening bottles. KIDNEYS -- female, because they always go to the bathroom in pairs. TIRE -- male, because it goes bald and often is over-inflated. HOT AIR BALLOON -- male, because to get it to go anywhere you have to light a fire under it...and, of course, there's the hot air part. SPONGES -- female, because they are soft and squeezable and retain water. WEB PAGE -- female, because it is always getting hit on. SHOE -- male, because it is usually unpolished, with its tongue hanging out. COPIER -- female, because once turned off, it takes a while to warm up. Because it is an effective reproductive device when the right buttons are pushed. Because it can wreak havoc when the wrong buttons are pushed. ZIPLOC BAGS -- male, because they hold everything in, but you can always see right through them. SUBWAY -- male, because it uses the same old lines to pick people up. HOURGLASS -- female, because over time, the weight shifts to the bottom. HAMMER -- male, because it hasn't evolved much over the last 5,000 years, but it's handy to have around. REMOTE CONTROL -- female...Ha!...you thought I'd say male. But consider, it gives a man pleasure, he'd be lost without it, and while he doesn't always know the right buttons to push, he keeps trying.

One thing that we have in abundance is how we use words to make ones point but when you havent grown in that environment, its very hard to decode the meaning of these wonderful words. So brothers Bash and Dhood would you please kindly elaborate for us the meanings of the above words so we can respond. Many thanks -
A dear friend of mine passed this site over to me and I thought perhaps I could share it with you all. good for listening ...

I wouldn’t totally brush off the old timers without considering why they should be left out and I certainly wouldn’t say all Old people are a waste of space. A case in one is someone who came to power in his late age like Mandela (though not in Somalia) who united rather than divided his nation. Our problems have mainly emanated from not just old timers irresponsibility and luck foresight for the next generation. It’s unimportant where a leader comes from, how old he is or what his background is. What is important is what he does with his leadership. The old/New Leaders in Somalia have done little to show they care for their people. They have often amassed wealth of staggering proportions, just for themselves, family and next of keen. And everyday innocent people still die of both hunger and bullets. They have over the years completely ignored the basic principles of democracy and grass roots needs. Since they gain the national platform via undemocratic and unjust means (through qabiil and keen rather than a justification of potential leadership qualities) there can never be a justification for them being recognised as legitimate leaders. In most cases, they find ways to corrupt what is supposed to be a fair and just democratic process based on the will of the people and rig their way back into office through divide and rule. Problems of Today’s Youth:- A number of structural problems inhibit the full political participation of the Somali youth. These include high levels of illiteracy among young, lack of self-confidence, societal attitudes towards political leadership qualities, qabiil oriented family structures that are very apparent even when you talk to youngest ones and finally the lack of resources to seek office. Also the new attitudes picked by today’s youth and the constant assimilation, which are eroding their values, and culture synonymous with mindless violence and thuggery doesnt give much encouragement and hope. But these provisions are contradicted by concession to customary law, perpetuation of highly discriminative civil and social codes and the absence of family laws among other legal measures. Political success depends on such things as the state of the economy, leadership qualities and unity within a party (if any). And not to forget the youths who are committed to their cause. Today, a particular brand of leader is needed who goes beyond partial, remedial actions. They will be critical in the development of solutions that enhance the quality of life and are sustainable in human, organisational, financial and environmental terms. The community leaders who will be counted tomorrow are those who have the strength and integrity to gain the trust of communities that have been repeatedly let down over the years, who are able to develop new solutions and who are able to make these solutions work in practice. The point I make is that a strong Leader is the one enriched with knowledge, vision, flexibility and one who unites rather than divides. -

A die hard somali Republican !! A wonder hard to believe.

Bro Jid I do agree with you whole heartedly however, Since it is the divine duty of the Ummah to spread Islam to all of mankind, then it is an absolute must for the Muslims to be attentive on the world arena; with awareness of the world situation and problems, knowing the motives and incentives of the nations and following closely the political events of the world. It is equally important for the Muslims to observe the political plans of other countries and to comprehend how they are implemented. Similarly, it is important to keep a close watch over the relations between those countries and the political manoeuvres they exercise. To draw a successful and feasible plan to establish the Islamic State and hence spread Islam, it is necessary for the Muslims to understand the reality of the situation in the Muslim world in the light of the international situation (world order). For all of these reasons and more, it should be apparent how important it is that the Muslims understand perfectly the international situation, knowing all the details related to it and comprehend the situation of each country that has an influence on the general situation of the world. It is necessary for Moslems to give Dawah of Islam to those who either hold some sort of power or influence in the society as well as the general Muslim population. In order to meet with the changing requirements of the human life at social and global levels, Islam provides a process of dynamics and evolution. A developmental and re-constructive process in its teachings. This is technically known as "Ijtihad" and "Ijmah". Ijtihad is a deductive and re-constructive process of reasoning and interpretation. Ijmah is the collective aspect of the deductive and interpretative process. So through Ijmah and Ijtihad the dynamics of Islam is regulated. This is how it competes with the developmental requirements of contemporary eras and meets with the changing contemporary situations of the world. -

Think tank -- Politics and prayers are two different things bro. Try to differentiate them. Oh by the way you can do both without selling your soul. And yes I do pray too thank u very much. -
"How We Somalis want to have role models" and yet alot of us dont want to work hard enough for it. Let the fella enjoy the fruits of his labour. It takes more than just talking to get to what you dream about.

Fighting from within is better than not having any mandate. Your causes can be politicised and ofcouse one could probably end up being amouthpiece of the oppressed moslems around the world. One of the reasons why moslems are dying all over the world, is because they themselves are not united for a cause. And most damage comes not from the Americans or Western countries but the many hypociritical Islamic states. I wouldnt mind having atleast someone who stands for the Somalis ideals who happens to be in aposition of power. Charity is said to begin from home. One can show solidarity by working from within than from without. -

Is there any justification to use Suicide to take lives? My take is that there is no justification for killing other than for self-defense.

The luck of respect for a governmentless people gets even more humuliating for Somalis who should dealt with with their problems on their turf rather than go around trying to sort their problems on other peoples yards. Read on please.... Hotels Deny Somali Delegates Food Over Unpaid Bills

Barwaaqo sis I know I know....hope the shid dont hit the roof. By the way I was asking because I heard some woman had torched her man and in court gave the excuse of PMS. Somehow I dont think A somali sis can do that but then again mental illness never discriminates. -

S.Lady - That was funny. I can imagine what she was thinking about her Son. She probably thought she would be the next one. Im sure it was avery humbling experience for the poor lady. Hoogayeey. Yeah bro Lakaad I think TV is becoming more realistic by the day especially now that you can see people being bombed into oblivion and someone probably giving commentary about how they are kicking asss. Oh not forgetting the first TV birth on the web too. May Allaah protect us from such horrid scenes. -

Just curious as to whether PM is used by women as excuse to hit, get grumpy, or snapping at someone. Do women use the PMS as a tool in your opinions? And before anyone concerned gets defensive about it, this is just for educational purpose and not a gender war.

I thought this was quite interesting ....Read on plz. Scrap

“". Men are driven by the wheels of desire and women are driven by wheels of instinct. By that I mean, men think with their third leg, but women think with their feelings and thoughts. So that gives us an upper hand in this game we all tend to play with each other silently.” Very superficial but right to a certain extent perhaps, but women too these days think with their oobbiiiss its Ramadan now.. …cant say it. Oh well its too easy to say the above about men but you got to realize that ultimately we are here to propagate ourselves so that we don’t grow extinct. So then what more is important than thinking with just that huh! I suppose women don’t think with u know god knows what! Fighting to mate or to protect always includes risks of acting stupid. Heroism always is close to foolishness. The role play has been the same for at least five million years even among animals: If the sabretooth or the wolf is approaching, the female grabs the kid and runs and the male makes his stand - often his last. No problem: he already has reproduced anyway. If you ever got in trouble yourself, you will confirm there are not even hard feelings: No man feels deserted, if his woman runs away as long as she carries his genes (Wishful thinking). So perhaps Hibo is right in saying that we think with our third legs (Dickheads) rather than the brain that works so hard as to make sure you genes don’t die vain and live forever. Interesting perspective though, handling a man is the easiest thing to do ladies all you need to do is do your home work well and you got it all. They say patience is a virtue and both parties have to be just “Patient with each other”
