Why a woman can't marry more than one husband? In a delightful report about how Imam Abu Hanifah received his name (his original name was Numan bin Thaabit bin Zuta bin Mah), an account of why the wife is forbidden to take more than one husband is recounted. 'Abu Hanifah' is an unusual name because it means 'the father of Hanifah', and Hanifah was his daughter. It was not the custom in those days to do this. Normally, the name would be 'the father of the name of a son.' How this came about is quite edifying. One day the great Imam Abu Hanifah was asked a question that, for the first time in his illustrious career, he was unable to answer. The question was, "Why were women forbidden to marry more than one husband at a time?" To make a long story short, Abu Hanifah's daughter said that she knew the answer and would solve this question if her father would make a promise to her that if she succeeded in solving this problem, he would then assure her a place in history. Abu Hanifah agreed. So she gathered a group of women together and gave each of them a cup. Then she brought in a large bowl of milk and asked each of them to dip their cups in the milk and to fill their cups. They did so. She then asked them to pour back the milk into the bowl. They did this too. She then asked them to re-fill their cups taking back only their own milk that they had poured into the bowl. This, obviously, was impossible to do. Hanifah had clearly demonstrated the kind of predicament that would be created if a woman had several husbands. With more than one husband, if she were to become pregnant, she would have exceptional difficulties determining who the actual father was. Identifying parentage and lineage would then be insurmountable for the offspring. Imam Abu Hanifah was so pleased with her answer that he took the name 'Abu Hanifah', 'the father of Hanifah', so his daughter did indeed earn a place in history.

Fighting in Somalia Leaves 31 Dead Tue Dec 16, 2:47 PM ET MOGADISHU, Somalia - Rival militias battled over barren desert lands in central Somalia on Tuesday in fighting that killed at least 31 people and wounded 50 others, a spokesman for one of the militias said. The violence between two subclans near Dhuusa Mareeb, 250 miles north of Mogadishu, began at 11 a.m. and lasted throughout the day, witnesses said. Witnesses said the fighters had nowhere to seek cover in the treeless desert, resulting in the high death toll. Abdulaahi Mohamed Ali, a spokesman for one of the militia groups, said 12 fighters on his side were killed and 20 wounded. He said the other side suffered 19 deaths. Representatives for the other militia group could not immediately be contacted. Hospital workers in Dhuusa Mareeb said 50 wounded fighters had received treatment. The last confrontation between fighters from the ******* and *** subclans over land occurred in mid November and left nearly 100 people dead. Elders and chieftains from the two groups are still in peace negotiations, but after Tuesday's fighting both sides were remobilizing their militias. Hundreds of women and children have fled their homes in anticipation of more fighting, residents said.

Bee…Vatiis happening sweet sis…yuaar not vanting at all? Ah perhaps some of us have it all and don’t need anything. J Oh Sectioner ….The requirements have been so diluted we barely get what we dream about. Dawaco So clever and yet so logical…we can only speculate till we get on the bandwagon …however, no harm in dreaming right? Waterlily…I second that ….you would never know till you stop hunting for that ready made package that never comes…the trick is to try anything once that way u know what you are in for. Cawo …You better jump or else you wouldn’t know even the consequences…. dearest we learn from mistakes and not from looking in from the outside. You got to be there to know how hot that kitchen is…. In away we all want what’s best but sometimes all that glitters isn’t gold; so beware of that sheep in a wolf/wolverine skin…

It is often stated that the events of September 11, 2001 changed everything. September 11 changed nothing. But it did allow the worlds superpower to "test the water" in order to assess what measure of global resistance it might confront (and from what quarters) in this the "New American Century", which will demand that it pursue and gain control of essential geo-political and strategic imperatives. The opening moves in this grand chess game have seen the attack on Afghanistan and occupation of Iraq. The negative stereotyping of the enemy is under way and the focus of multi-media propaganda. The "War on terrorism" has become entrenched in to contemporary life, though it is not a war on terrorism, but rather one against Islam. A BBC survey has revealed that the majority of British Muslims consider the "war on terror" to be a war on Islam. More than half those surveyed believed Osama Bin laden and his al-Qaeda network should not have been blamed for the September 11 attacks on the US. It is common for Muslims to believe that they have replaced communists as the West's enemy. This is blamed mostly on the fact that the inappropriately coined "war on terrorism" with its lack of clear goals generates much speculation about the wars real motives and aims. Two years after that which is now universally known as "9/11" the people of the Middle East can see that a culture of hate and prejudice is being sown by some of the domestic allies of the Bush administration on the Christian far right. Whilst the finger is being pointed at Arab States in general by the administration, it is Islam itself that is evil according to mainstream fundamentalist America, and as a consequence the enemy of America's contemporary interpretation of " freedom" and "democracy"

Well everyone has qualities they like about another n that’s what makes us human. Ameenah walalo I can guarantee when that biological clock starts ticking hmmm anything is possible. I have seen a few dead gorgeous ladies in their infancy being extremely untouchable but at the end of the day and for their standards, they go for people who you wouldn’t otherwise think where her type. Believe me today we do have many ladies who crossed barriers of even having kids with non-Muslims let alone getting married. So sometimes one needs to know what they want in life while they still can fire at full force and there is this saying in Swahili that goes..”VUMJA MIFUPA KAMA MENO BADO IKO” In layman’s terms it means break the bones while you still got teeth. A good sense of humour helps in both bad and good times...great quality N-Star – Lool “- Who said anything about a wife? was thinking more along the lines of a pit stop, recharge the batteries then gooooooo” You sure know how to live mister… Sophist – Bro Xaal qadho….camels will be delivered as per arrangement… Jamaal – Do Istikhara prayers and say 'Oh Allah, I ask for proper guidance from You through Your Knowledge, and I ask for power from Your Power, and I seek goodness from your Grace, for You are Able and I am not, and You Know and I don't, and You are the Knowledgeable about the Unknown, O Allah, If You knew that this matter is good to me for my religion and my affairs, then make it happen, and if You Knew that it is bad to be for my religion and my affairs, then keep it away from me and keep me away from it, and make goodness for me wherever it is and make me satisfied with it' And surely all you need will just arrive.

Precisely Ameenah....We tend to have along list of needs and wants in life but then when reality hits home....we tend to shelve the fantasy hut and wear the real life cap. Suffice to say, after afew dates one comes to realise that what they look for doesnt come with the package they have in mind. Different strokes for different people with different qualities.

See now there is a man who is happy with what he has....cant explain what it is but hmmm he sure has it ...Goodluck pal and may it last as long as you live too. Kinda reminds me of Robin williams in Good Will hunting. When he said the best memories about my wife is " When she used to fart while sleeping....Loved her for them lil weakenesses.."
