Even though the international community is not going to give Somaliland recognition, they are still forking over millions of dollars in foreign aid. I believe they knew the Somaliland officials would not use the money for the benefit of the region's infrastructure and would likely use it for war and personal use. With evidence of government corruption, killings of innocent people, electoral fraud, and nepotism they must not have been far off the mark. You are praising Somaliland for helping fellow Somalis who are running for their lives in the south. By the same token, you are saying I dont care about these people when referring to the Somali people in Buhodle, Somalia. Do you see your hypocrisy? do you honestly think you are being genuine about Somali unity. And, Somaliland needs to stop funding their uncle who is the leader of Al-shabab. That is what the Somali people in Mugadishu need the most from Somaliland. Repeating lies often enough won't make them true. lol@Al-shabab.

Some folks get completely lost or at least act that way in Somali politics, when you speak of democratically elected governments and official oppositions.

Perhaps Carafaat is more clever than you think for having set up this poll.
  6. Carafaat;788766 wrote: Oodweyne, a possible compromise with Khaatumo would be a clear justification for Somaliland's ' changing' On talks with Somalia post the Londen Conference. At the same time Khatumite's can explain a possible merger with Somaliland If this will be followed by talks with Somalia. Thus a win and win situatie for all two sides. Your fishing here Caraafat, understandable you want peace and talks between Somaliland and Somalia to take root. But attending a conference for the sake of talking to a newly formed tribal militia is a stretch to say the least. Somaliland will not shy away from talking to anyone but at this point it is premature it would set a dangerous precedent.

The Sage;788549 wrote: These new clan states and micro fiefdoms that pop up every other week can only do two things: fatten the pockets of those involved and increase the likelihood of war between them. If this phenomenon continues I envision the region being fractured much like Europe until the 20thcentury, where dozens of countries, principalities, duchies, republics and city states are constantly in a state of war with each other. Reversing these developments are paramount for stability and the gains made (by all peoples) over the past few years are preserved I would go so far as to compare it to European history but otherwise well said!

What's sad is if you don't read french you should at least ask somebody or use google language tools to understand what I said before you assume that I 'belittled' the Somali race. On the contrary I told GOETIA that despite somali peoples problems they were nevertheless proud to be somali unlike some of our Djibouti kin who get offended when you call them somali and reply with 'no, I'm Dijboutien(ne)' On a lighter note war niyo gormay Khatumoseeg la wareegtay Ceerigabo? You might wanna revise your location lol
  10. I don't know why some of you are acting shocked or even ashamed, this is a very accurate representation of Somali society. By somali standards it could have been worse the way I seen it. The one brother from the inter-riverine area who started pointing fingers back at all the other somalis was laughed at cause he bunched all the major nomadic clans together as rather 'violent' and unstable. He may have had a point, but his demeanor and petty approach got a good laugh from the majority of the crowd. This is the problem with Somalis everybody is good at pointing fingers even the minority groups are getting in on it but nobody wants to pause for a moment and take seriously the grievances of the other. We are a less than civil people, please get off your high horses and see yourselves and ourselves for what we really are. Y'all make fun of djiboutians for being colonized, but look at this video, zoomalians behaving like monkeys in front of their white masters. Even I feel bad and sort of ashamed on behalf of my people. God help somalis.
  11. AsadSL;787722 wrote: You don't have to say Ciidanka Qaranka as it means nothing to you. Im simply pointing out your hypocrisy. You want Universal TV stop this but fail to look at yourself. Classic. What he was trying to say is that he needs a TV portal that will peddle his tribal propaganda.
  12. People in opposition often like to play on others fears in the hopes of gaining popular support. People did it when Riiyaale (UDUB) was in power claiming he was setting up Somaliland and wanted to bring it to Xamar, now some people in opposition to Siilanyo are saying the same about him. The only thing that's changed are the actors but the message remains the same. No Somaliland president will ever sell out our country that much is assured, these folks need to take a chill pill and find more constructive ways to criticize.
  13. Whom ever it is your quoting, Fresh Prince or Revolution, time will show that he was far more prescient than most ppl in this forum. That is as far as working within Somaliland goes anyway. I hope he keeps his wits and doesn't back track due to pressure from unreasoned and emotional tribalists.
  14. Somalis are going backwards, tribal sentiment is on the rise all over the place it is sad.
  15. Aaliyyah;786494 wrote: I don't care if I throw it lightly or not. Facts are facts and your attitude implies that you are in denial. As for your comment about the 80s , are you insinuating that you and your folks were raising money for rebellion against the Somali government? If so, you not I are truly the rebel here. In this 21st century, with the creation of the Khaatumo State and Awdal State, it is the beginning of the re-stabilization of Somalia. My support for it makes me a patriot and I will, with a clear conscious, participate in the raising of money for schools, roads, universities, and defense. And, if you are unaware of or blind to the facts let me educate you. The weapons Somaliland uses is foreign aid from Ethiopia. Somaliland also receives millions of dollars from the UK and it doesn't seem that it uses those funds for the infrastructure of your city Hargaisa. The city still has the same roads that the British empire built for you back in the 1900s. You would be a fool to believe they don't use the foreign aid dollars for their militia that is killing innocent people today for no logical/rational reason whatsoever. As for your personal participation in raising funds for programs in Somaliland. If they are limited to schools good for you. But, don't turn your cheek to the facts. These taxation laws you speak of is the function of all provincial-level governments and if the money generated from the Somali people of Waqooyi Galbeed is used for attacking Somali people from other provinces than that is an abuse of funds and not something to admire. Yes, for the reasons mentioned above I will state that Somaliland is truly a tribal "bantustan" as you so kindly pointed out. LOL educate myself eh? walahi I have to wonder sometimes if the people who speak like you in this forum are actually joking or they believe in all the non-sense they write. Listen it would be nice if you were raising funds for schools etc... but you admitted its funds for bullets your raising so let's not flip the script now. Listen the Toronto SL community will gladly send you on a all expenses paid fact finding mission to Hargeisa if you care for it, so you can learn what Somaliland is really about and report back to your 'khatumites' in Canada. Otherwise, its gonna take more than mango shake money from Salaama Hut to defeat Somaliland or hiring the likes of the 'butcher of Hargeisa' to speak on your behalfs. So please continue on with the delusions.
  16. I did not believe this thread until I saw this video for myself. To top it off the nerve of some people to defend this criminal is astounding. So I suppose this group is going to continue the hypocracy of seeking 'peace' while raising dollars abroad for war and bringing in genocidal criminals amongst their ranks. Why this man has yet to face justice is beyond me, one can only hope he joins the frontlines of this rebellion he supposedly supports.

  18. Aaliyyah;785989 wrote: Lander, Silaanyo is a warlord. You need to come in terms with the reality. He killed thousands ppl in the SSC regions in 1980s( ie in xudun in a eid day snm militia killed 80 people praying eid prayer in one day). In 1992 he and his militia committed genocide against the people of borame. In 1994, he killed thousands of his own people in burco. And he is still committing killings in the SSC regions as we speak. As for your comment that my cities just happen to fall in your border. That is the problem with you and your clan entity Somaliland. You are claiming other people's lands and that is impossible. If anything your three cities happen to fall within the borders of Somalia. I honestly don't know why you are repeatedly talking about the khatumo fund raising events, as if it is any of your business. The khatumo fundraising events are raising funds in order to defend their Khaatumo/SSC people and their rightful lands. They have every right to raise those funds. On the other hand the somaliland militia who are attacking innocent people in laascanod and buhodle as we speak are being funded by foreign aid and somalilanders abroad like yourself. In your other post you wrote how we are all accountable for how our money is being used. I suggest you take your own advice and next time you attend a somaliland fundraise event ask yourself if your money is being used to attack innocent civilians in the middle of the night..? And lastly understanding is two way street. You have to respect Awdal State and Khaatumo State. Don't think for a second you will attain recognition by attacking the SSC regions and killing innocent people You throw 'thousands of casualties' around quite lightly. These are made up numbers and its sad you've been indoctrinated in this anti-Somaliland wave. You've been thought to think we're all out there raising money for our respective 'tribes' which just comes accross as odd to me, we're not in the 80's here this is the 21st Century. The only time I have been involved directly for a fund raiser was for the school of the deaf and blind in Hargeisa which was also done in several other cities across the globe. Alhamdulillah they were good events and we got some testimonials back from the kids in H-town that left the people involved emtional and proud. I know the SL community in Tdot is rather small and I knew the people involved were solid of character, they were very transparent with the numbers, the dahabshiil accounts and the actual receipts we actually got back from our contacts in Hargeisa! I've attended several others including one for Gabiley Hospital, Amoud University (borama), Burco University and others similar events with a specific purpose and goal. However, never have I heard of any fundraisers in my time in this city that were aimed at arming tribal militias national armies to quash any rebellions. Let me state the obvious and say that I haven't heard of such events tied to Somaliland because they don't exist! Nor is the Somaliland government receiving 'foreign aid' to by weapons, its absurd. If you've been brain washed to believe Somaliland is the enemy, perhaps than you should know more about your 'enemy' and its sources of funding. Perhaps Somaliland is an actual state with its own revenue streams including taxation laws and a national budget that includes defense spending, is that even remotely possible in your world? or is the oft repeated propaganda (of the anti-Somaliland crowd) that saids SL is nothing more than a tribal 'bantustan' so ingrained in your mind that you cannot possibly think it's capable of such basic functions of state?
  19. Aaliyyah;785273 wrote: Freedom, you are truly delusional. What part of reality don't you get?? What I write is not spiteful but factual. Somaliland is not a feasible entity and has nothing to do with the future of East Africa. That part is a given...the only thing you need to get your head around is the share of the political power your province will have in the Somali parliament. Siilanyo is part of Somalia's past history along with Said Barre as well as the atrocities that is happening today in the SSC regions and does not deserve to be chosen as a president It will be quite unfortunate if it happens. Even though earlier i said it doesnt matter if he is chosen, because he isnt worse than all the warlords that are or were in the TFG. But, we shouldn't correct a mistake with a mistake..I honestly think we should get rid of all the warlords. walaal, It is time for new faces and a rejuvenation of Somali patriotism...something I believe you'll eventually, if you have any common sense, will learn to develop. As a Somaliweyn citizen, something I hope you reconcile yourself with, the feelings of somali patriotism is only right. So Siilanyo is a 'warlord' on par with Siad Barre and is comitting 'attrocities' in the bari of Somaliland? Be thankful to Allah your regions have never witnessed genocidal warfare and pray that they may never know the meaning of real atrocities where your folk will be digging up the mass graves of their kin on every rainy season more than twenty years after an existential war. Collecting 'bullet money' in Toronto is not the way to maintain peace or achieve 'Somaliweyn' contrary to the twisted, hypocritical and illogical beliefs of some folk in this forum. To you Somaliland is not a feasible entity and that is a 'given', to others it is a given that Somaliland is not only feasible but is factually an independent functioning state with define borders and people, who reclaimed the independence they forfeited during those crucial summer days in 1960. Your region so happens to fall within those borders. Even within the concept of 'Somaliweyn' the 5 regions include one that just so happens to be Somaliland. No mention of Puntland, Khatumo or Awdal State in 5taa Somaliyeed. So given the polar opposite views you have with Somalilanders perhaps it would be helpful to try and meet them half way when discussing such matters instead of this typically somali dismissive attitude of opposite views. You think Landers are devoid of common sense and they think your out to lunch with Khatumo. Simply put, you can't expect people to be more understanding towards you if you won't make any effort to be more understanding towards them.
  20. Although I can appreciate Oodweyne's points on all the various reasons he listed for not attending this conference. I'm also of the opinion that Somaliland should send some representation to this conference. In diplomacy, I don't think you can ever lose when you voice your views and opinions. They Can make it clear that they are not their to discuss any matters related to solving any conflicts within Somalia which I'm sure the british diplomats are already aware of. They can voice their concerns with regards to security matters within Somaliland and its neighborhood, the undeniable connection of various entities such as Puntland to piracy and any matters that may pertain to furthering Somaliland's goals.
  21. Somalis laughing at other ppl for fighting...lmao
  22. Foolishness, this so-called administration is profiteering from piracy at the highest levels. There gonna want more than chump change from the Brits to keep their people from taking to the high seas.
  23. Can someone explain to me what A_Khadar and like minded folks said about the Somaliland officials from Sool who were captured on a road to Taleex and who's entourage was wounded and killed in that same ambush not long ago. Did they say what is wrong with these militias? Did they ponder the biggers consequences of such unecessary action? Not to take away from Buhoodle but one has to be consistent in their outrage and if they're not, than how do they expect to be taken seriously with regards to any matter.

Our somali people are some of the most backward in the world, they hear a criminal was seized or killed and they say but he was Somali and those who captured or killed him were westerners. So what? does it make him any less criminal? Countless pirates are actually released because many countries do not know what to do with them from a legal perspective and they show a lot more restraint than any thief or criminal would get amongst Somalis themselves back home. So quit the hypocracy. You kidnap other countries citizens and hold them at gunpoint they should have every right to come to their rescue and kill anyone who stands in their way as far I'm concerned and Allah knows best.
