Thought mushakal was some type of fruit juice? I remember as a child hearing all these overweight relatives visiting from khaleej-ka blame their obesity on mushakal and the 24/7 air conditioning. adiga malawad/malawax intaba waa diiday, mushakal aa isku tilmaamtay.. are you overweight too? j/k.

I have benefited greatly from the Shaykh tonight. Some of the steps I did not know..like the 'family ties', Insha Allah others will benefit from listening to it too. May Allah reward you for your kindness, Abu Salman... your generosity for sharing this piece of work with us and may Allah reward the Shaykh.

Very surreal indeed! Nice to know they can go skateboarding this summer, and keep their minds off of being hungry/thirsty.

Stop it, you! , we don't want the old man dropping his realist huusgunti. -
Just when you thought the Iraq situation couldn't get stranger. This, perhaps, is the strangest one. Initially, I thought it was a joke. BAGHDAD - Forget rocket attacks, concrete blast walls and no sewer system and try picturing luxury hotels, a shopping center and even condos in the heart of Baghdad. It’s all part of an ambitious five-year development “dream list” to transform the U.S.-protected Green Zone from a walled fortress into a gleaming centerpiece for Baghdad’s future. The $5 billion plan has Pentagon backing and apparently the interest of leading hotel developers, said Navy Capt. Thomas Karnowski, who led the team that created the development plan. Washington wants to create a “zone of influence” around the new $700 million U.S. Embassy to serve as a high-end buffer for the compound, whose total price tag will reach about $1 billion after all the workers and offices are relocated over the next year. “When you have $1 billion hanging out there and 1,000 employees lying around, you kind of want to know who your neighbors are. You want to influence what happens in your neighborhood over time,” said Karnowski. Karnowski said a deal was already completed for Marriott International Inc. to build a hotel in the Green Zone. source It gets better or worse, it depends on your viewpoint. Baghdad to get ‘Disneyland’ style amusement park. At the cost of nearly $500 million, a Los Angeles-based company is “developing the Baghdad Zoo and Entertainment Experience, a massive American-style amusement park that will feature a skateboard park, rides, a concert theatre and a museum.” The park “is being designed by the firm that developed Disneyland.” The company’s owner says “the time is ripe” for profit and entertainment to collide in Iraq: Mr Werner, who has been sold a 50-year lease on the site by the Mayor of Baghdad for an undisclosed sum, says that the time is ripe for the amusement park. “I think people will embrace it. They’ll see it as an opportunity for their children regardless if they’re Shia or Sunni. They’ll say their kids deserve a place to play and they’ll leave it alone.” “I wouldn’t be doing this if I wasn’t making money” he said. “I also have this wonderful sense that we’re doing the right thing – we’re going to employ thousands of Iraqis. But mostly everything here is for profit.” A Pentagon official has said that Gen. David Petraeus is a “big supporter” of the project.

She wanted to play that 'oppressed Muslim/circumsized/can never have sex' little girl again. Laakin wax ka neefiyo ay waysay.

Woow Baashi, thanks for the backhanded compliment. I noticed it is insulting enough to you that I am [xaawaley] sitting by myself in a territory you have deemed yours. -
Vacation in Somaliland! Now there's an oxymoron. .

Even the most diehard amongst us must realize that things must come to a head soon. The Shabaabs will eventually be brought to the negotiating table. Better to take up their seat there of their own volition rather than be dragged there by their 'enemies', mararka qaarkood, ceeb maaha to lick your wounds and pride and to come out. Haddii kale dadkeenii sidii arigii qoorac lagama daynaayo! Meesha waa lagu dhamaaday, addeerayaal! -

I'm used to having genorous men in my life. I have to watch myself around them and not mention things I like or want because if they know they'd go out and buy it for me. Af-qalalan = xuud slash qori-lacag . Shoot. You can fix ugly, but you can't fix nin qalbiga fakhri ka ah. L0L. No amount of 'qalbi saafi' could seduce me.

These days its very expensive inaad bilcaan shukaansato and even more expensive to keep her unlike our good old days where one wasn't expected to treat her like she was your child (let the parents buy her what she needs). Why shouldn't we be expensive? If it were the old days and you showed up for shukaansi with empty hands, would that have been acceptable? Back then a woman picked a man because he was seen as capable of providing for her and it was considered normal and ragga-nimo. Men were gentlemen not so *****y and cheap like the ones in our modern days. Women were showered with jewellery, and other gifts [guryaa loo dhisi jiray], adiga 'expensive waaye, flower ay rabtaa' aa la soo taagan tahay! Jiib-kaa tahay cun , ma shiixeesid, haye? Gabar af-qalalan la shukaansaday ebidkeed lama sheegin, sharci gaal iyo mid islaan toona ma'aha. Rag, waa raggii aabaheeey wallee, iska daa!

I do not fear ending up in a nursing home. I fear getting old with someone I would rather strangle. A friend of mine's parents always scrap. They are in their mid 60's. The last fight they had, the old bag got pissed at the old woman and refused to go on their annual vacation/trip to Somalia for the winter. So the old woman went alone. I still wonder if the old bag even bothered to take the old woman to the airport  . That scares me more, y'know. I'd so much rather be alone then to put of with this.

Y'know, peasant? I am so grossed out right now it's not even funny..BARF! I think I'll skip dinner tonight, and for that you deserve to be beaten with a frozen leg of goat.

Not only Haybe prostituted his wife, he also prostituted his honor, integrity, and his core Muslim values. I toyed with the idea of naming our residence [sOL] Haybes and other matters you raised in your story but I fear the TFG intelligence officials on this site... . Good read, by the way! Loved it. Thanks

Some just like the milk...if the cow is willing to give...a win-win situation?

Islamic insurgents in Somalia threaten revenge on America
Nephissa replied to Koora-Tuunshe's topic in Politics
Better to be jailed and/or disappear in the middle of the night never to be seen again..and remain moral and true to your cause. -
^ The question is a minefield, the intent can be harmless, a way of testing the waters, incase a political discussion comes up and you have opposing views, so then you can proceed with caution knowing where they belong/stand on the political spectrum. If someone asks me I just assume they want to know for the same reason but I never ask someone's tribe af-cad cause honestly I think that's dhoore-nimo [waves @ Blessed ], you can however sneak it into the conversation. Just got to be subtle about it. For example you can ask, "is your favorite warlord L, C, M or A?" or you could make it even less obvious and ask, "is your favorite animal a donkey, or a camel?"
