  1. Awaare seems to have made a habit of coming to Mogadishu to contest the PM position the last three rounds. He has failed every time.
  2. I don't think anyone will be named this week. My sources say early next week.
  3. Abwaan- I don't dictate real events. I can have a copy of the president's schedule right now before me but cannot mitigate whether it will change or not. Hassan Sheekh is the opposite of most other men before him. He is very cautious and takes his time and reevaluates seconds or hours later. My observation is he follows the advice make a decision, sleep on it, then recalibrate. His personal choice is a Gedo pm and that's where I bet.
  4. Ali Ciise is the compromise candidate for the president's inner circle (that is if a Gedo pm becomea untenable). Surprisingly, and despite the posters in this topic, officially Garowe is more opposed to him than anyone else in competition besides Farmaajo. He has been in Mogadishu throught this time don't know where he just arrived is picking up. As of now the bet is still on a Gedo pm minus Farmaajo. Saacid Shirdoon was never a serious candidate; almost all his loyalists are his wife's supporters.
  5. Abtigiis- The issue is not up for debate particularly one outside the geographical perimeters in physical terms with all its current realities.
  6. Awoowe- By your own admission, you are an Ethiopian Somali. The men from Gedo, Galgaduud, and Lower Jubba are citizens of Somalia privileged with the national right to live, prosper, find residency, and claim leadership in any part of the Federal Republic of Somalia. Your sense of hubris would serve as great comedy if it weren't stale in its foundation. Your shrills are more useful elsewhere. You are neither a negative nor a positive influence on the state of such men in Kismaayo or any other part of the territory that comprises Somalia.
  7. Abwaan- My source was confident it would be today and we do still have the day ahead of us; maybe he plans to name in late evening. Allahu Aclam. We shall see. And if happens I was entirely wrong, maa mushkila we will move on from there.
  8. Sulaiman- Awoowe adigu iyo ninkaa Somalia la baxay ma shaarkaad kala badalataan? Arrin sida u eg ayuu isna igu soo hadal qaadaye? Meelahaas ka bacbaclay adigune kula tirsan maayo dhalaanoow. Abwaan- Indeed tomorrow is not far and my estimation has been brought down to those men. I could be wrong, I could be right; tomorrow will tell. Doodishe or Barre; my bet.
  9. Dr Mohamud Sh. Ali Buraale "Doodishe" or Mohamed Barre Mohamed. One of those two. Announcement tomorrow.
  10. xiinfaniin;875049 wrote: lol@Taleex The list has shrunk greatly. Professor Abtigiis is for a rude awakening ...not to mention the disappointment that will surround Gabal's euphoria Xiin- You are not unknown for mischaracterization. In fact, I somewhat expect this from you. I do not know what "euphoria" you are talking about; I merely said the Premier will indeed come from the Gedo/Galgaduud/Jubba corridor. Perhaps your allusion to my "euphoria" is rather just a reflection of your own sense of dysphoria? From the beginning, and I have had the inner chambers of Villa Somalia as feed, the President and his advisers were interested in nominees from the said community in line with his forming policy of "transformation" of Somalia's burgeoning peace and security. It is expected the President will indeed nominate a Premier from the above community inline with this political and domestic objective. However, in another topic, I just read you hinting Abdiwali Gaas will be brought back and of that I say, you only showcased the extent to which you are uninformed. Gaas is a remarkable man with a bright future ahead of him in Somalia but not as Prime Minister of Somalia under this President in this time.
  11. The headline takes Mahiga's words out of context. It is sensationalized. Mahiga, in fact, said the Prime Minister will come from a clan but not only because of clan and he goes on to list the other qualities as well including capability, efficiency, etc. In the same interview he says the President and Speaker following the 4.5 power sharing formula and this is expected to govern some of the parameters of the nomination of Premier.
  12. Duke- What reason has the man to hate you? What reason has the man to hate a clan or a region? Hassan Sheekh from what many people have pieced together seems to be a dedicated and peace civil servant who recognizes the destruction of the civil war and is conscious of the responsibility on him. I do not believe and I do not think you believe he personally has it out for your clan or region. If, however, you are saying by virtue of not getting the PM post then he has declared war on you; then the problem seems to stem more from you.
  13. Abtigiis;874054 wrote: Gabbal, I never liked Farmaajo. It is not like I started hating him after his hoax yesterday. The man is shallow and somewhat desperate for power. He can't even articulate what he wants to say properly. He is not the calbire Somalia needs for PM right now. On 'currency; don't take it literally, I am sure you know the word is used to mean different thing (acceptance) in english. Yes, I said it is not a problem if IDPs love you, it is infact better than to be loved by elites who are eating bountifully. But I also said one does not have to get desperate because desperate people like him! So, I reject your allegations and accusations. You are visibly angry but when you finsish your anger reflect on the hogwash you wrote above and see if it makes sense. Abtigiis- Not angry whatsoever at all; rather introspective. I am sure it may come as a surprise to you, but I find it ironic one of the descriptors you used is shallow when the one thing I can possibly summarize into this response, and in fact this entire topic, loudly says shallow. I bid you a good day as well.
  14. Oba- I find it rather distasteful and beneath any sensible person's constitution to engage the form of diatribe you seem to value as judged by the sheer irrelevance of most of your contributions. I bid you a good day.
  15. The inconsistency of your impressionability never ceases to amaze me. At most points I have chanced to observe your commentary in this section, and most especially in this situation, you strike me as that single lone ventriloquist swaying and dancing to the tune of the gallery where ever way it vibrates next. Farmaajo was not my candidate for president; many here can testify. He is not even my preferred choice for the Premier position. Still, I have the utmost respect for the man, what he has been able to achieve in his tenure as prime minister, and recognize the goodwill and success he had in tapping into the grandest aspirations of those least among the Somali people even if least in this circumstance would be a description of relative merit. Your very person bespoke of "felicitations" upon the idea he was nominated a second time as Prime Minister. The fickle nature with which you have attempted to polish away whatever embarrassment you feel for having succumbed to yesterday's rumors does a gross injustice both to the character of the man in question as well as to the respectable notion he might have tapped into the hope and aspirations of many sections of Somalis, especially a more unfortunate subsection. For you see, by the very notion of this premise concerning "IDP" talk, you feed into the negative reinforcement that they somehow do not deserve better, do not have stakes in the country they are helpless in, and any one person who dares tap into them as a potent political force deserving of recognition and position in the political solutions of the day has manifested a political writ to disdain. It is no different to the Republican Party's attempt to "otherize" the Democratic Party to mainstream white America as a political party pandering to minority groups and whose sole reason for support among the said minority groups might be because of capitulation derived from propensity to value "welfare" and "dependency principles". This reason, they further, is the method with which the Democratic Part woes which, you might happen to realize if you are decent enough, is an exact replica of the political strategy you and some others have employed here recently much to my consternation. It is really nothing more than a form of write off; not of Farmaajo but to the legitimate display of the internally displaced people's aspirations. Through your talk of "currency" (how cheapening), you have attacked the very idea, motivation, and power of Hope. You, good brother, are far removed from the realities and plight of the people and country you wish to speak for. Why have IDP's not protested for Gheedi? What of Nuur Cadde? What of Cumar Abdirashiid? What of Cabdiwali Gaas? What of Abdullahi Yusuf? What of Sheikh Sharif? Why was this first not employed, but only recently as a political weapon no less against Farmaajo's presidential run, when such support was as expressive, if not more, during Farmaajo's resignation period some year and months ago? I remember responding to Mooge on this issue: Gabbal;855986 wrote: This comment I find says everything there is to know about this individual. He sits all day in a Nairobi cafe shop and listens to petty gossip while the most creative thing he can possibly do is dehumanize the unfortunate situation of Somalia even more through inappropriate and malicious using of the term "Internally Displaced Person" as a political euphamism to imply something less or not remarkable in the showcase of one's individual right to express their aspirations for their country. I find MMA's response to you in another topic most apt: he calmly addressed your misuse of the "IDP" term and then sought to ignore the rest of your corresponding drivel. http://www.somaliaonline.com/community/showthread.php/66697-Sharif-Amed-supporters-attack-Farmaajo-Demo-shooting-amp-killing-civilians?p=855986&viewfull=1#post855986 The man has done something to warrant support from the least among the Somalis, if he has, and it is time you and others respected the idea that they have a right to express their aspirations and they have a right to express support to the individual who has allowed them the opportunity, and in fact motivation, for expression. If you understand the basis of this entire issue, you will understand not all is rosy to the naked eye.
  16. Mooge- Jaga yar ee oo ayadu dhan dhawr daqiiqo dhaafin ayaa laf dhuun gashay kugu noqotaye wax isku reeb. Beerlaxaawsi haday sheekadu gaartay xaajadu ma sahlana.
  17. Abwaan- Maradi baa kaa dhacday awoowe. There are three things wrong with your statement: 1. The idea that a president (a monarch?) has the right to remove a private citizen from a city. 2. The idea that Farmaajo warrants such an intense response 3. The indescribable tribal element to this in a shattered, fractious, civil war torn country Awoowe, Hassan Sheekh is neither a "keligii taliye", nor does Farmaajo deserve the intensity of your feelings against him, and neither is this the bygone era where a man like Furux was the "owner" of national facility such as Mogadishu seaport.
  18. Mooge, war moogaa, wax ma ogide caynku waa sidaas waxay tahayba ina adeer.
  19. Xiin- He was never out of the drawing board. He is having individual presentations with candidates for the rest of the week. He invited three PM candidates to give foreign policy presentations today on Monday including Abwaan's candidate Dr Bashir Nur Bidar. Another candidate, Dr Abdiwali Sh. Ahmed was invited to come from Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Development Bank just yesterday and is expected to receive an interview and presentation offer sometime this week. It seems unlikely a PM will be named this week.
  20. xiinfaniin;872642 wrote: oba, that is a bad news for Gabal. It goes against the clarrity good Gabal injected in the pm selection. The president, Gabal reported, has narrowed down his selection to a number of Gedo candidates I am only partaking in discussion my friend Xiin. I am not a xaasid, mind you. Does Puntland deserve the PM? All of the people qualified under the 4.5 deserve particularly those from Puntland. It is a reality no one can deny. But there is no reason for Puntlanders to feel shafted if they do not receive it. The end goal of this presidency is to have multiple Puntlands after a 4 year period; even if he is not a fan of federalism, his ambition is to increase the peace, security, and political viability of all the regions in the country. Puntlanders have lost out because of this and in accordance with the President's vision, and reiteration of what I earlier said, the next PM is expected to come from one certain community and this is the clan the President's staff actively encouraged applicants from. Your change quip makes me realize the extent to which you understand one of the candidate's chances.
  21. Well whatever it is may he be the best pick for Somalia.
