Politics, especially Somali politics, is very fluid and so our positions should be expected to change. Yesterday's good guy can become today's bad man, and a cause deemed ineffective yesterday might be deemed effective today. I have admitted and given reasons for my changes in position, but one thing I have always maintained is that I stay true to my principles and go directly with where I believe is right. Anigu adeer raga meesha hadal aan afka baarkiis dhaafin la yimaado hay moodin! However, one thing that has captured my attention is you, Red-Sea, and some of your collegues and their my enemy's-enemy-is-my-friend hypocritical maneuvers. Clearly we haven't heard recently of Faisal Cali Waraabe proclaiming on the radio waves that "a child born in Addis is closer to I then a child born in Xamar" have we? 13. Originally posted by Northerner: ^^so Ethiopia occupies Somalia and will not recognise Somaliland is a mature assessment? Only classics on SOL polictics was your flip-flopping Northerner, I am afraid you are known for glip liners without any substance sxb. A response of this nature does not surprise me. What is a mature assessment, to answer your question, is Ethiopia will not recognize Somaliland and it is something to pity the character of people who take a very anti-occupation stance then turning around and posting such things or boasting of Ethiopia's support to the SNM as Red-Sea had done recently. Somaliland iman mayso, ama jeclow ama nacbow adeer raga yaryar hawlahooda haka baaba'ine!
  14. Roobleh must be a member of the newer generation, naive and with energy to spend. Roobleh don't tire yourself young man. One of the things that had me laughing in complete irony was you posting the article "Ethiopia to soon recognize Somaliland" at the same day the Ethiopian prime minister was in Mogadishu, and two weeks after his foreign minister opened up their first embassy there since the 70's. That was a classic moment in SOL history, something the older, more realistic generation would not have done. That just highlighted even more your young sensibilities.

  17. Castro, I merely posted this because it is a very important development and I am surprised it has not been posted yet. With that said, I sense you are coming at me from a tribal perspective with the impression I share tribal connection with these militias. I do not Castro, these are former militias of Indhacade, the former chief security officer of the ICU. As for the development itself, I am neither uncorking any champaign with delight nor am wishing for Ethiopians to attack them. I am very surprised at the development itself. I will leave it at there for the moment.

Daa'uud, maxaa waaye waxaan? "Somalian???????" Kamoon nooh. It is annoying seeing this Soomaali noun butchered by non-Soomaali, and it is even more annoying when it is written or said by Soomaalis, and extra more unbelievable coming from you of all people here. Perhaps those foreign forums you visit ayaad lasoo qabsaday. Bajunis Boni people Oromo's Somali Bantu Ethnic Somalis etc etc =Somalians the way Azeris Farsis Kurds Arabs etc etc =Iranians first they said ethnic Somalis are those who fall under the so-called ''noble'' clan system hence making it easier for revisionists to give every historical figure born on the Somali peninsula an ambiguous origin because the persons ''clan'' is unknown ignoring the fact that there many groups of Ethnic Somalis who do not fall under this system so i use it as a heterogenerous term that includes multiple groups of Somalia A very valid point Dhulqarnayn. I agree with your use of the term "Somalian" to include and take into account all aspects of the citizens of our nation. Those who are ethnic Somalis, as well as those who were Somalized at some point in history including, but not limited to, the innocent people of Bantu descent who were taken from their homelands in Tanzania. Historically, and in even today, ethnic Somalis are known those who are of the pastorialist nomads or have ties to them. It was only in the 70's that the term was widened by the existing government in its campaign to be known as the only largely homogeneous African nation. Of course, having the same religion and having a centralized, national language advanced the case but so does Ethiopia have a centralized, national language and share the same faith (at least at the top) but a Tigre will never be known as an Amhara. It is the civil war and the past marginalization of groups who were pinpointed as being different, that makes some Somalis lose the inability to see our great diversity. There is strength in diversity and we should celebrate it not hide it under our beds.

Abdullahi Yusuf never spoke publicly about Kismaayo, it was Gheedi that went on the airwaves with screams of "Al Qaeda" takeover. I would love to agree that with you Horn, but the overwhelming facts on the ground contradicts it. It is well documented that Geedi is not a man with agenda, directions or has ethics - he is under control and fulfilling the ideals of his master, in this case Zenawi. He only does whaqt he is told and sense of nationalism is not in his vocab. Where as Yeey, the definition of nationalism does not extend beyond his blood-line - and is also a tool, but a clever one who also has an agenda of his own. Only thin time his agenda clashed with his backers. Now you and I both know the change of guard in Kismaayo had the blessing of General Gabre and it had infuriarated Yeey cause he has lost much in this change, and not Geedi. Juje, mindhaa maadan i fahmin. All I am saying is the only individual on public record is Gheedi, in fact Abdullahi has not even publicly spoken. The day after firefight, it was Gheedi who went on the air and broad casted supposed terrorist hot spots of Kismaayo and Badhan.
