Is that even allowed  ?? There is a concept that exists called "dumaal" where the widow is married by the closest relative of the husband's lineage. It could be the husband's brother, cousin, or nephew depending on the proximity of the relative to the widow's location. The Somali culture is today lost on the diaspora youth.

It is a lack of Somali researching skills that led Oromos and the likes to claim glorious Somali history. This is a biography of the Imam's newphew, the Emir Nur who married the Imam's widow, succeeded and avenged his death at the hands of the Ethiopian king with the help of the Portuguese, and built much of the city today known as Harrar.

Suldaanka, do you know any who has photos of Hargeisa after the Ethiopian shelling in the late 70's, early 80's?

Aniga u horeeyee ii jawaab adeer. Out of the dozen or so contributers why did you point your finger at me and cause harm to my constitution when I had not even spoken about the issue itself as opposed to the rest? You specifically pointed at me with the clan card...how relevant do you feel it was especially in light of the testimony that came out concerning the only time I had addressed the issue?
-
Ayoub The interesting thing is I have only spoken once on the issue and this is what I said: Originally posted by HornAfrique: Lol @ Suldaanka. Better off stateless: Somalia before and after government collapse

Originally posted by Abdillah: I dont even know why you would post this cr@p. I have never heard such utter rubbish before in my life. For an economist, analyst or whatever to call an anarchy and what can only be described the worst state for a human as 'delicate equilibrim of power' is nothing but rubbish. The most important for life to survive is security and safety. Economics and the rest are nothing if there is no security for one's life and possessions. And anarchy is not good for Somalia's development. What we need is just order and law. Abdillah, greed has no limit. I advise you to read more about economics. There are economists in this world, extreme capitalists, who disdain any government influence in the markets and would be more than happy in making a case out of Somalia, despite the effect or toll for that matter that Somalia's situation has had on its people. Extreme free market capitalism is the factor behind such things as free trade and organization such as the WTO and the World Bank/IMF who facilitate it, at least in favor of the developed world. A globalized Somalia-like situation, at least in the context of zero government interference in the market, is what they advocate for and seems to be the ideology of the individual behind this piece. -

JLee, forever captivated with her first real blizzard. How did you manage to walk around in all that snow?

Xiin- Gobonimadu waa loo kala dashaa adeer. For every Habar caaye that sprung from the Loins of Maakhir, there are thousands of Paragons and Hunguris. Markaan Habar Caaye daraadiis reerkaas ama cid kale u danaynayno maan Paragon iyo Hunguri daraadood u danayno!

Gediid, I think the forum has a rule about trolls adeer.

Gediid- That is actually a good question. Truthfully, I think I would have an answer if I had you in mind when I posted.
