Duke, you are coming at me with concerns I have already voiced. However if there is one thing I am not concerned about it is the right of the ARS to name the people who will represent them. Like I said in another thread, you are still stuck in Embagathi-era Somali politics. Clan elders, states, or warlords have no right to contest the legitimacy of the ARS to name their people. Why? The ARS is a group which joined on principles. They had a chance to say they have the legitimacy of their clan and could have easily joined the TFG. Instead, they went to one location and declared themselves on one side of the equation based on principle. Do you understand what this means? The ARS then won its right to have a say in Parliament and has the right to say who will represent them. The ARS members chosen for the parliament will not represent clans and states and warlords, they will represent the ARS and the principles that binded them together. It was the ARS's own choosing to respect the clannish state of Somalia's civil war and be sensitive to clans. It was their own prerogative. The ARS member who is from my clan has nothing to do with representing the mayor of Garbahareey. No, he represents the ARS. Now you tell me who in God's green earth gives Faroole the legitimacy to name people for positions that solely belong to and represent the ARS? It's not even ridiculous, it is beyond ridiculous!

Che, no I don't. The fact of the matter is the the extra 200+ seats given to the ARS is the sole responsibility of the ARS in terms of how they will choose people to fill that position. No one told the Djibouti group to divide themselves into 4.5 and respect the clannish situation in Somalia where suspicions are rife but they still did so. Who are Morgan, Galayr, Maslax, and Faroole to complain about how the ARS should fill its positions? The whole notion is ridiculous and very yesteryear in thinking.

Abdullahi Yusuf supporters stop protesting and don't contemplate a ridiculous thing such as a "united D-clan" or other fantasy dreams! United against what? A collective Somali push to bring back their country? How ridiculous.

Drama at its best, gentlemen, drama at its best. For our good friends Duke and Emporer, nothing near 1991 will ensue. Most Somalis have moved on especially those in the south who have seen the overwhelming majority of the fighting in the civil war. This has nothing to do with clan and I cannot, for the life of me, concieve Shiekh Sharif as a clannist. I have not gotten over the good Shiekh being escorted on helicopters and accommodated in posh Nairobi hotels while his Islamist brethren suffered but I do not believe the good Shiekh is a clannist nor is this a clan driven agenda. It just happens that the leader of the ARS is the same clan as the last prime minister under Abdullahi Yusuf's TFG administration. Coincidence? You betcha. A big clan conspiracy? No. I do not think General Morgan or Jees nor Gen Maslax and neither Juriile or Galayr represent anyone on the ground save their individual persons. Nothing wrong with this of course but a spade has to be called a spade. These men represent no one. Pure and simple. Era of warlordism has long past. Now Duke and Emporer, Abdullahi Yusuf is long gone and enjoying his vacation in Yemen. Stop protesting and do accept the new reality of things gentlemen. Another one to watch out for is Holbrooke, Obama's envoy to Pakistan/Afghanistan. A Jew himself with history in the holocaust, he is singlehandedly responsible for Clinton's bombing of the Serbs. Obama is really saying a lot about his foreign policy with the naming of these two men.

From what I have seen of the pictures, the victims all seemed to have died by shooting then blowing up. Now who is reported to have fired shots? AMISOM or the suicide bomber? Understand this does not excuse the suicide bombers. This is a very alarming phenomenon that is forming and one that needs to be countered swiftly as possible.

What do I think? Well I certainly believe he is much more experienced and certainly more capable of bringing back Somalia than any of the other candidates in the race including Shiekh Sharif or Nuur Cadde, let alone Qanyare, or even for that matter the warlord who just resigned recently, former "president" Abdullahi Yusuf. Men like General Maslax, Cabdiqaasim Salaad Xassan, Cabdiqaadir Xaaji Massale, Cabdullahi Caddow, etc simply cannot be compared to the participants of civil war Somalia's primitive political maneuvering. On the other hand his father was the president of Somalia for 21 years and whose legacy is still viewed by some in negative lights. That is probably the biggest obstacle for him but at the same time this is a man who has completely stayed out of civil war Somalia and has no blood on his hands despite the fact he could have built himself a sizable militia with support from many friendly entities outside of the country. Whether the latter can counter the weight of the former or not will be seen soon.

For a length of time now, Reer Siyaad Barre have shown great determination to stay private. It would be interesting to know the facts behind General Maslax's candidacy.

^I have only read Kismaayonews write he is in jail and it is the second time they wrote it in some months. I cannot tell you if the rumors saying he is going to be named president is true but I can tell with certainty he is not in jail nor has been in jail (presumably the Ethiopian's). Wayrax, so the rumors are known? Do you know anything beyond what I have written and also, are you part of realgedo since you do a good job of advertising the individual blog/news source? What is interesting about this is that the group in Baydhabo have resisted all calls to move the election venue to Djibouti and have virtually Shiekh Sharif's ARS while the representative of the "committee for the presidential election" is none other than Cabdirashiid Xiddig.
