  2. You seemed to have answered your own question: Originally posted by Meiji: Bad for the poor Somalis from the North who have been misled and manipulated by Clannist-survivalist elite. These elite have reasoned out that having your own ''little game''(Somaliland's politics) gives you more chance for high positions then to play along in the ''big game'' (Somalia's politics). http://www.somaliaon line.com/ubb/ultimat ebb.php?/topic/9/180 96

  4. Well if you are indeed serious my man, here are my essentials: 1. Wait a week before drinking camel's milk. 2. Take diarrhea medication. 3. Don't be wide eyed and try to speak as aggressive as the locals (yes, the grunting part ). 4. Never wait for your order in a restaurant. Demand it. 5. Brisk walking, working, acting is very alien. Learn to become very slow. 6. No shorts or overly designed clothing. Plainclothes is the way to go. 7. When mixing with the crowd, its better to be disliked than loved. 8. Get in touch with your relatives or nearest, near-distant kin as fast as possible. Holding it off is the biggest mistake you can make. Have fun sxb!
  5. Cayroow kii abuuruu la jiraa. Nasheed wax u tari mayso.
  6. We are counting you to deflate the secessionism hype What an insulting thing to say. If I was Siilaanyo, I would respond with am I your whipping boy or, in more crude parlance, your donkey? Somaliland has peace, relative security and prosperity, a system that works for them however flawed, and respect and cordiality. Even now Riyaale's extension was democratic. Yes flawed but nonetheless democratic. What is going on in Somaliland is no different then Yeey's tenure in Puntland, except none of the Somaliland leadership have yet to resort to arms as Yeey done against Jaamac Cali Jaamac. Gaal dil gartiisana sii baa la yiri. Your tone is very biased and insulting when it comes to recognizing the positive reality of Puntland's neighbor to the west and it is unfortunate. Reading between the lines it is very easy to notice your encouragement of Somaliland's break down of law and order, as deduced from equating it to "deflating secessionist hype".
  7. Yes, in retrospect it is very interesting. Interesting in the sense of "same ole, same ole", a repetitive chain of events. No wonder I have become so disillusioned.
  8. ^Let us say I have become less "optimistic" over the years. [EDIT] Why are you going around and digging up my old posts? Jacaylbaroo kalaan noqday. I've never seen so much Gabbal started topics in one line-up.
  9. I just think it seems odd that the very man heralded as the savior of Somalia is nowhere to be seen at all and seems to ignoring Somalia like the plague.

  11. Allamagan, it is unfortunate but I am glad your friend insured himself. Anigu Kenyaan u baqaa. The Somalis there don't seem to understand what insurance means.

  13. Is no the man to his right Cawaale Kulane? I have seen that individual on Al Jazeera before, arguing in favor of the Ethiopian troops. I think it was a debate that Ahmed Samatar from Minnesota took part of and another individual. Ma ninkaa baa garab istaagan the prime minister while he is speaking against foreign troops?

  15. ...and the quality of the forum has taken a dip ever since your debut.
  16. Enlightening discussion. I look forward to Xiin's response to Kashafa's earlier post.
  17. Oodweyne, sell your wares to the ill-informed. We know each other and we both know you have no qualms about lying through your teeth to buy time. My only concern is why you continue to resist the pull of honesty and continue to partake in ego-boosting. War jiraaba cakaarahuu iman.
  18. Originally posted by NGONGE: If I were not a Somalilander I would be worried about Riyaale's meeting with the British Foreign Secretary ! I mean, come now people! He has not met some low level foreign office persons but the top guy himself. My theory is the British government decided enough is enough and strategized if the Somaliland group hears from the top guy himself what they have been hearing from every guy below him, maybe they can finally let up this hopeless cause and have no choice but to start looking towards Mogadishu again as the solution. When you take into consideration the governmnt's position as highlight by Lord Mulloch and Sophist's source along with the reality in Somalia today with a government in Mogadishu and a political platform that is very much supported by the West, I am almost completely sure about this theory. The Europeans must have decided it is time for Somaliland to engage itself back into the equation.
