President Yusuf Interview : + Minister Aydeed meets Official from Egypt
Gabbal replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
^^^Is that outburst one of your unusual moments of using reverse psychology on us? No one on SOL, not even Duke, admires Abdulahi Yusuf more then you. Though I do get the feeling Abdulahi Yusuf's supporters are getting increasingly fed up with his ineffectiveness. -
Somalis will always be Somalis. Discriminationka ku maqan waa wax la yaab ah.

A Touching Gilimpse of History and the Reunion of a Somali Royalty

Nice! Duqa asagubaa qabaa'il dhistay  -
As for the actual fighting (if it comes to that), let the Sudanese and Ugandans do it(saaxiib reer magaal ma diriro ee waa loo dagaalamaa). Reer Magaal hadaad tahay, you would have known that where Ugandan and Sudanese troops to be entertained in Somalia, then they would have their own mandate controlled by the international community independent of the whimsical wishes of the host nation and its ruling polity. Ogow adeer ( ) that they would be volunteered peace-keepers and not hired merceneries.

Jumatatu mindaa waad wareersaneed markaad bogaan furtay. It wasn't "humorus" nor "informative", though I do believe your point was that the Abdulahi Yusuf/Gheedi government is going to end up like all the others who preceded it.

Warkaan wax lagu farxo inaysan ahayn, magaca "Soomaaliyeed" ayee sii foolxumaysay maahaane wax kala maysan samayn.

^^^Since you went after me, I'm guessing you're with the pro-Ethio camp? p.s. When did you become "reer Arlaadi" Haven't you already admitted on these forums that your clan origins lies with Puntland?
-
Where do people with your kind of insider knowledge get nerve to protest (too much if I may say so) when we point you out as ousted and frustrated 'Victory (ha!) Pioneers'.? Who's the "we" or "you"? I don't think I like being generalized all that well. So if you'd tell me who the "we" (I know you are Ayoub_Sheikh) and the "you" (I know I am HornAfrique) are, that would be helpful.

Now how did this article slip under our grasp?
-
WIND- So what you're basically telling us is you want Abdulahi Yusuf in Mogadishu so he never sets foot in Puntland again? You support his government to keep the old goon occupied from micro-managing Puntland affairs huh? You know what? I respect you that much for telling us the truth!

Maxaa la'isku daalin? Maalin kasto jagooyin cusub ayaa macna la'aan lagu dawaaqaa. It doesn't make any indifference I tell! Besides a bureaucracy this large is a hinderence to the transitional government, not very helpful I tell ya. Taliyaha Ciidanka Booliiska Soomaaliyeed ayaa waxaa loo magacaabay Gen.Cali Maxamed Xasan Looyaan(Cali Madoobe) So ina Yey chose the old dog at Interpol as his head of police eh? I thought the grapevine was alleging Col Qaybdiid (Black Hawk Down star and former Caydiid [ilaahay ha u naxariisto] right hand) was sure to be named? -
Oday Baashi, whether I sound like a cheerleader or not, you outdid yourself walee! One of the few articles on SOL more then three paragraphs long that I actually took the time and energy to read. However I do think you over-simplified some subjects of history that need to be given more scrutiny, particularaly about the power-sharing between former colonies of Italian Somaliland and its much smaller sibling, British Somaliland. As for the "Guulwade" comments and "defeated lot" and others, even I was getting mystified. I would, in under any normal circumstance, accept those kind of glib phrases with indifference. Yet it indeed surprised me as to why all the members of a clan were labeled as such, irrespective of the way the political tides ran under the Siyaad Barre government. I wonder if Abdulahi Yusuf is a "guulwade" to some of our nomadic acquaintances here. ANYWAYS, the cheerleader wants to continue, here are some good quotes I wanted to acknowledge from your post: The notion that bigger, more populous, better endowed (eight million acres of arable land with two rivers), more advanced infrastructure, and better trained administrative officers (ten years of self rule under Trusteeship arrangement) must share (ask on what basis, population or what?) power equally with the North was not only unreasonable proposition but it was counter productive to the aspiration of the young nation that was about to emerge. Northerner dared to reason independently and veered from the “groupthink†rehearsed line. His mistake was he engaged with likes of me. He should have listen to Lander or you for that matter and stick, as it were, with the polar opposite formulation. I’ve seen Ngonge struggling with the tremendous peer pressure. This is not a principled case to make. This is an angry man who blames not government and the fallible men that led that government. This is man who lays the blame at the doors of the country in general and the certain clans in particular. I sense that his broad brush even paints unborn future generations from this clan with the same brush he paints with the leaders who led us to this bottomless pit we find ourselves in.

Seriously though Sky, everything you say is qabiil orientated (like i give a stuff about the usc, why do you always mention that to me horta, i swear i have never ever paid them any money [big Grin] ) -
^LOOOOL would rise above the gimmick of name-calling, as the representative of the Somaliland Republic in London . What an important post! Sorry if I offend anyone, but this is the quote of the day.

The numbers dont add up: Mogadishu + The MP's number

Dear lad I spoke to one of the gedonet writers Ask me again and I'll gladly tell you who owns Gedonet. Garan maayo inuu Cabdirizaaq Isak Biixi soo laabtay ama uu weli joogo, laakiin bil ka hor Muqdisho joogay. Trust me, I know. -
I want to kindly ask Juma and his fellow trouble makers to stop from sabotaging my thread. Sheekooyinkiina meela kale la aada. One might suggest that they've "changed" and turned themselves into patriots but when they were murdering innocent civilians, orphans and minorities they were unpatriotic and warlords. One would almost believe you are describing Abdulahi Yusuf, except that he hasn't even tried to turn himself into a patriot. Walaalyaal the pacification of mogadishu is nothing but a last-minute strategy of warmongers to combat the new government and last hope of our beloved Somalia. It is this warmongers who have become "saints" in the eyes of Horn and Juma. We applaud that last-strategy and we acknowledge hand Abdulahi Yusuf played in that strategy. However, this government isn't religious nor are we forced upon to appease all the despicable actions they have tried to implement. How is this the last hope for our country? And isn't Abdulahi Yusuf part of that circle of "warmongers"?

^^I read a report recently about Isak Biixi in Muqdisho, but I guess I didn't double check when I stumbled about this article. It seems to be during the Carta times, but Smith I will find that recent Gedonet article for you about Isaak Biixi's departure. -
Give us a break will you. Another question dear Horn, how many of your 14 MP kinsmen are in Mogadishu right now? Can you name them for us. I fail to notice the relevence of that question. I am not speaking from the point of view of my clan, but of the point of view of the majority of our people. 14 MPs are hardly enough to tip the scale in anything, even though the majority of the chosen members of my "conistutency" did the unexpected (and much applauded) act of being led back into Mogadishu by a sincere hope of rebuilding the fractured Somali qaran.

C'moon. We are talking about Gedo here. Sxb what a jest. I would be surprised if you asked that with a straight face.

Sky_Africa Rahima abti baa u tahay ee ka xishood. Her father is ree Borameed because he was raised in Borama by his Borameed mother. Hey, by the way, wasn't Caydiids mother/grandmother from Yeeys sub-sub clan? I don't know but I think I heard there was some connection na'mean. [Wink] Laakiin Soomalidu waxbay buunbuunisaa. Could be a lie na'mean. Caydiid (alaha ha u naxariisto) is a grandfather to I and I haven't heard of any connections he has to any of the sub-clans besides Wagardhac (his brothers and earlier inter-marriages) -
Horn,i thought you had lectured the Duke about the structure of the GREAT JVA on the eve of Puntland´s 2nd ill-fated attempt on Kismayo Otali (or is it Johnny b Jr now?) I'll leave that up to you. If Ethiopian hands are found to be mixed up in the scenerio concerning Baydhaba ........it's only befitting that all Somalis stand up against the Ethiopian penetration into the internal affairs of Somalia. A righ sounding statemetn that one could hardly disagree! But would it make a difference (for the apposition) if Ugandan and Sudanese hands are found, I wonder? is it against Ethiopia or against FT in general? I am begining to think cleansing filthy with vile would be deemed valid in Somali politics! Xiin-faniin, bureaucrats spill richly decorated political pundits. I am not a bureaucrat. If you desire I can speak in more coarse terms. Anybody collaborating with the Ethiopians should be shot upon sight.

n my view , we need him for this term to make us MORE united. Abdulahi Yusuf unwittingly united the Somali people more then they have ever been during the long years of civil war. Because it was not his intent and the unity is due mostly to his antagonizing behaviour, we do not salute him. Brother Horn, you should be confronted for making such a statement but I detect you didn't mean any harm. Ina-Sanataabte I did not mean any harm at all. My "traditionally less-powerful" comment was purely alluding to the former political history of the Somalis. Now, the fundamental questions are here. Will Caato-Qanyare-Yalaxow coalition triumph? Will Yeey’s gov finish its term just like Abdiqasim’s? Will Somalia’s situation improve in anyway or get worse? Allah knows all. In all honesty, I have not seen a Caato-Qanyare-Yalaxow coalition in my observations of Somali politics. I think it is sub-conciously expected that every government has a visible oppositon, and, in this case, the media ran with the those said three men simply because they control the largest parts of the capital. Abdulahi Yusuf made a taboo of Mogadishu since the get go, forcing the inexperienced Somali media to immediately judge the power-broekrs there as the opposite cornerstone to his administration. That faulty assumption leads you to believe that the only opposition to Abdulahi Yusuf was coming from those three men, even though some of his harshest and merciless critics are from his clan and/or home regions. I detest Caato, Qanyare, and Yalaxow as much as, or even more, then Abdulahi Yusuf, but I cannot help but acknowledge that Abdulahi Yusuf's actions has increasingly shown them in positive light with the majority of Somali people. Abdulahi Yusuf is everything that is wrong with Somali politics and Cusman Caato, Qanyare Afrax, and Suudi Yalaxow are everything that is wrong in the civil war, yet we acknowledge the positions they hold at this juncture of time. Abdulahi Yusuf has become increasingly anti-Patriotic with his Ethiopian kow-towing and Caato, Qanyare, and Yalaxow have become increasingly anti-government as a result of that (i am looking at what is visible here). Given the chance, I would rather support the anti-governments then lose our soverignty (whatever is left of it) to the Ethiopian kow-tower. Do not be so naive the Mog Faction leaders would like the gov to come to Mog and make it a hostage just like Abdiqasim's. Peace Action, let us differentiate between the orange and the apple here. One; while an apple is red, the Carta conference wasn't given even close to the unprecedented support the Eldoret, and later the Embagathi, was given. Two; while an orange is colored orange, Abdiqasim's administration wasn't given half the chance to succeed from all the Somali power-brokers as Abdulahi Yusuf's administration was unconditionally offered. Three; while an apple can taste sour as well as sweet, Abdiqasim was never given the wide-spread pleas to make an entrance in Mogadishu as Abdulahi Yusuf has recieved from the get-go. Four: while an orange has one taste, Abdulahi Yusuf did everything in his power to undermine Abdiqasim's presidency, although the same has not been shown in Abdulahi's presidency. Simply said, Abdulahi Yusuf has ingorantly ruined his one chance at the presidency and another one of our chances reintroducing back the state that once existed as the Somali Republic.
