Maan..I know alot of Somalis who won't be mistaken for angels, but none of them reach that dude...and that was in the mid 90's when most Somalis were just new...? Xataa sodomy? That just goes to show you about our good ole' Somalis.
  2. Honestly black folks are their own worst enemy. We can all be angry at the Bush Administration for their slow action, or inaction for that matter, but African Americans in this country need to have been woken up a loong time ago. Black folks live in a cycle; grandparents lived on welfare, parents raised you on welfare, and you are forcing your kids to be raised on welfare! We can ALL complain about the system, but why depend on the system? If the system is treating so badly, why not free yourself from the social and financial slavery you face under the system? I will not generalize nor stereotype, but African American need to learn school is the only way they can effectively turn the system to their advantage and that has got to start somewhere! Just go to any high school in the continental US and you will see why these people continue to be forced down by a system they partly help in turning against them. We, Somalis, came here largely as immigrants and for the most part live off better then most of African Americans. Our young folks really strive to recieve a higher education, but then again alot of others don't. They are setting theirselves up for just the exact modern slavery African Americans live under. I have no doubt that in a generation or so, Somalis will be living apart from each other across town. Half will be living in public housing projects that their parents, who had no choice in the matter, raised them up in while the other half will be living in the affluent, wealthy part of town simply because they beat the system when they seeked higher education. Anaguna taas ba inoo soo socoto, waxba African Americans yaanu la yaabin.

  4. ^^In reference to your reponse and to this topic, you do not think that certain Muslims are handing the western media a silver platter to blacklist us  Where do you think they would get their propaganda if it weren't for the people my thread is about?
  5. Iam beyond pissed at white America, You shouldn't be pissed at White America Raula, you should pissed at our so-called GOVERNMENT black or white! The NO refugees have been welcomed into Houston, it's everyday (majority white) citizens who are helping out the victims before the government was even admiting there were victims! It's freaking disgrace that FEMA won't acknowledge the devastation simply because they don't have "statistics" yet. Damn dheh, besides where all those "important" black folks? Where is Condi Rice? Where is Colin Powel? Where are all the others? It's a disgrace the way the WHOLE goverment has been handling the problem and mark my words, there will be inquires, there will be resignations, there will be firings because of this. Whether it might come from outrages right-wing souternors angered beyond anger at the lack of help or democrats hoping to score against the republicans, the government will be held accountable. I think one of our nomads Besbaaso has relatives in New Orleans, let's hope nothing has happened to them.
  6. Jumatatu you have managed to lose the whole gist of my thread. You accuse me of associating Islam with these, while I am, to the contrary, disassociating Islam and Muslims from these people. As for the this "Western report", implied with the heavy ignorant cynicism so famous of our people, I assure there were and are plenty of news reports, some western some not, reporting on that same topic though it was by some coincedence that I had chosen USAToday. Your believe in your faith should be firm so that you can differentiate The real way of Islam and a concerted propaganda to mar the its pillars My faith does not need to be affirmed, and it was because of the image of Islam that was being presented to those studying the religion, to those who haven't converted yet and are looking at it, that I had in mind when I decided to post it. One question though; Who is the one employing a concerted propaganda to mar the pillars of our religion? The "Muslims" that were being reported upon, or the "western media" that was reporting?

Tolstoy, as our "Somaliland" Ambassador-at-large in these areas, might have taken the realist approach of Wind_Talker too personally, but to call Wind an embarassment was just a tad too reminiscent of the pot calling the kettle black! Tolstoy need not worry, it is we, the SOL nomads, who will decide who is the greater embarassment..
  8. World responds to Katrina with compassion — mostly USAToday Islamic extremists rejoiced in America's misfortune, giving the storm a military rank and declaring in Internet chatter that "Private" Katrina had joined the global jihad, or holy war. With "God's help," they declared, oil prices would hit $100 a barrel this year. It's a disgrace onto us and our religion when we let it be dragged across the floor like that. Have we become so enthralled in a quest for nationalism that we have forsaken the moral and legal requirements of a true Jihad? Have we become so disillusioned that we purposely twist our religion and its doctrines to suit our whims? Why are these people who profess to share the Islamic religion with us tarnishing the good name of our religion? How is that they can call the massive destruction of life, innocent lives of the young, old, sick, handicap, etc, a Jihad? Do they equate the annual earthquakes in Turkey or Iran to a Jihad too? Why, how, why, how is all I can ask at this moment of anger and confusion ilaahay baan ku daartay! What does Jihad have to do with this? Do they understand what Jihad means? Do they understand what it stands for? Do they..? Do they..? Do they.. Well I am going on a Jihad myself! Jihad wal-bidca and Jihad wal-munaafaqiin! I am prescribing the Jihad of the mouth and speaking out against the innovators and the hypocrits of our religion! These people limiting the conversions to our religion. These people sowing the disunity and turmoil within the Islamic people. These people morally descrediting the peace our religion stands for and is named for! I cannot describe my anger at the labeling of the destruction that overcame innocent people as Jihad. Was it not a pagan woman, a prostitue of great calibre, that was granted paradise because of a last act? The act of giving a sip of water from a nearly-empty canteen to a thirsty dog in the middle of a desert? That one good act sealed for her a great fate. A good act directed at an animal, much less a human being in the most dire of situations! Yet, in this day and age the suffering of humans who neither need it nor deserve it is called a Jihad...
  9. Hey, world: Thanks for nothing Posted: September 2, 2005 1:00 a.m. Eastern © 2005 WorldNetDaily.com Do you want to know what the definition of ungrateful is? It is being clearly spelled out for us in the world's response – or rather, its lack of response – to the carnage wrought by Hurricane Katrina earlier this week. Though much of the U.S. Gulf Coast, including a healthy portion of our oil and gas production and refining capability – 30 percent of which resides in the Gulf of Mexico region – lies in ruins; though tens of billions of dollars in damage has been done; though hundreds of American citizens have been killed; though millions could be without power for up to a month; offers of international aid and assistance to help us get back on our feet are not exactly pouring in. As of this writing, I've seen exactly two offers of assistance. The first comes from Venezuela, whose left-wing leader, President Hugo Chavez, is simply pulling a public-relations stunt and using our misfortune to jab a stick in the eye of the Bush administration, which opposes his anti-U.S. regime. The second comes from Ontario, Canada. Yes, that's right – just that lone province, not the whole of the Canadian central government. Excuse me if I don't exactly get misty-eyed from all of this generosity. Meanwhile, as our rescue teams, military, and emergency management agencies work to save lives and restore some semblance of order and sanity to the stricken areas, the cost estimates for physical damages (the cost in human lives can never be measured) is in the scores of billions of dollars. One estimate puts the estimated price tag of Katrina in insurance claims alone at around $25 billion. These figures are paltry to a country with a $10 trillion economy, but let's look at the bigger picture: It's the thought that counts, and right now it sure doesn't look like our "friends" and "allies" are giving our problems much thought. Truth be told, some of our buddies are probably even laughing about our misfortune, in a sneering "you-got-what-you-deserved" kind of way. Yet, even as our own people suffer, die and otherwise watch their lives and dreams wash away before their eyes, our leaders are giving away taxpayer dollars to help other countries at present. According to the Los Angeles Times, the United States spent a record $18.7 billion on foreign aid in 2003 – a figure which has risen substantially since President Bush took first took office in January 2001. That figure alone would take a huge chunk out of the price tag for Katrina. We also spend billions more dollars abroad to help others deal with everything from AIDS prevention to stamping out anti-government militias. And let's not forget that little $1 billion donation to help the Asian tsunami victims earlier this year. Aren't we the thoughtful ones? But it's always this way, isn't it? I mean, haven't the professional and collegiate sports clubs said it best when they reminded us this week, as they ramped up relief efforts and dug into their own pockets, that it is the American way to be generous to a fault when our neighbors are down and out? That simply means, of course, when the chips are down we Americans know who to count on in a crisis: ourselves. So to the rest of the world – you ungrateful leeches – I say this: When we decide "unilaterally" to defend ourselves the next time we're attacked; when we next opt to "unilaterally" battle a global evil like terrorism because no one else can or will; when we act "unilaterally" to insist global organizations like the United Nations clean up its act; now you know why. We're used to going it alone. And one final note: Don't call us ... we'll call you. Jon E. 14. Megalommatis wants to take a Somali-wide history and change it into present-day tribal/regional historical (non)-achievement. The other Berberia ku ye. All the earlier historical observations of that part of the world used the word "Berber" to describe the Chushites that had lived on the eastern part of Africa from the rest of the Africoid, or as they called "Zanj", people. How is that so exclusive to the present-day secessionist state there?

  16. ^^Ha la yaabin. I am going to forward a request to the Admin to crackdown on double nicks. Either a sizable number of nomads are on Politics for Dummies, or only one is who uses multiple nicks.
  17. ^^It's quite simple really. The Arabs are looking out for their interest! The Arabs, led by Egypt, are trying to strongly curtail any influence or power the Ethiopian state can have over the Horn and in particular the Nile. The Arabs believe that buying livestock from the secessionist state would be tantamount to encouraging their bid and also would provide revenues to go about that secessionist attempt. The Arabs do not have to buy livestock from the Somalis, so why should they do so if it endangers their regional political aspirations? Because they care about the poor man in the hawd whose one source of income is selling off his livestock? Get real, like I said NO ONE cares about us and we had better start realizing that. P.S I honestly believe, from my real life observances, that the idea of breaking-away is really loosing hold on a good number of "Somalilanders" folks. I truly believe with the right government and with the right situation in the former Italian Somaliland, the unity of the Somali Republic can rise out of this ashes much more stronger. Time will tell...
  18. Jenaraale Duke, my support/opposition to late president is not up for graps. It is a matter done with and past behind us. As for the current despot, we support the office of the presidency, but, alas, the office of the presidency is failing us.
  19. ^^What way did you mean it? Or maybe you were looking for my solidiarity with you in the guise of...what? ..the JVA? Balaayo anagaa aragnay! Is that what you ment when you said I was looking for "gratification and pity from certain circles"? Possibly the Puntland cicle?! For what reason I ask you?
  20. ^^Predictable. Though I probably despise the said "warlord" more then you, I am now, according to you, responding to this thread in a bid of solidarity with the said man under the guise of our " defeatedness" alluding to our clan-family participation? How pitiful! How blackened thy heart!
  21. Originally posted by Qudhac: and and most importantly who cares what basal breath think anyway, how can an occupied bunch of dictators advance our democracy anyway. Lool..! Qudhac Sxb this news from the Arab League was a response, so whatever your feelings are of the outcome, there must have been a request from Hargeisa to join, you disagree? For the rest, let me just say something very honest about the whole picture as it relates to Somalia and the break-away region. NO ONE cares about Somalis! No one cares about that part of the world or has any real interest in desert of the Somali peninsula. The industrialized world hardly cares about the third world, and the third world has enough problems of its own. Despite what our pro-secessionists are alleging, it is severly natural for the secessionist region to go after the Arabs, because (1.) Ethiopia has publicly announced it will never forward recognition while the secessionist president was in attendence, and (2.) the Arabs are the only ones who have a keen interest in the Somali affairs. It's obvious the secessionist state was looking for a very exemplery moment to sell their idea. What better moment then in the preparations of a homegrown, comendable election? The Arabs have made their stance clear now that they have been asked so, and have now closed that door on the secessionist entity. We are Somalis. Our pride, glories, greats, etc are only visible in the Somali world and only to our eyes. We live in our own higly proud world as Somalis and we need to realize the world is hardly paying attention and hardly cares. Furthermore, I don't know but it's obvious the international community is hardly looking to be confronted with another starving, aid-seeking, Somali or African state unless they hold any real genuine interest there. That explains the minimal participation of the international community in the greater Somali peace reconciliation and its almost absence from the decade+ secessionist seeking region.
  22. Olol there is amusing hypocrisy then again there is annoying hypocrisy. Have you ever heard of start in your own backyard?
  23. ^^I haven't finished the Politics for Dummies book, not that I am calling you a dummy. While you have managed to under-estimate Cabdiqaasim, you have direly managed to over-estimate Abdulahi. If you have a problem with estimation, maybe you should refrain from doing it at all?
  24. Orgilaqe, it's really simple, you are willing to acknowledge the wrong of the past and see the present change. As for CHE', if I ever need information on any place in Somalia, I most certainly know where to look.
  25. Has the passing decade misled you in to believing you could forever hold the loot, saaxiib? What is the source of this confidence? Xiin meesha Xamar maaha, siyaasada meel ay taagneen haku dalacsiin. Kismaayo was fought with the blood of many, a large equation of the pie was rewarded with skin-cutting techniques. Marka waxii meesha ka dhacay taariikhda 1990's bay gashay, waligeedna lama hawaysan doono inay waxaas oo kale meesha ka dhacdo. Kismaayo has transformed from even a year and half ago!
