  3. Imagine my surprise when I found out it was none other then our former great imam of Seattle. A truly respectable leader in his own right who had, not only the the respect of Somalis, but of the whole Islamic community in the state of Washington. Imagine that, a great scholar and a former professor of Islamic studies. Kudos to the Courts! My support increases everytime I see the calibre of their members. Sheikh Ibrahim recently asked to be sent back to Somalia after being arrested and being held by the anti-terrorism and immigration officials on flimsy charges. First he was accused of lying to immigration officials, then of being a member of the ONLF, and then of other accusations. Everytime a charge was refuted, another soon followed until it was obvious to all that the good Sheikh was being held on acount of only being a respected religious leader. Since the harshest sentence of those charges was deportation, the good Sheikh volunteered to be sent back to his country after having coverted a total sum of 38 people in the Washington immigration facility at Tacoma. Earlier Arrest There goes the Sheikh in the left hand side with glasses and cimaamad.

Is this new turn around on account of my opposition to adeer? Why these baseless accusations now when you have always ignored, and even at times corrected our going-with-the-wind Xiin, on baseless accusations and assertions vis-a-vis Kismaayo and Jubba phenomenon? You had better correct yourself Duke. I here a contingent of sorts comprising a section of "Ciidamada Qaranka" from Gedo have arrived in Baidoa..
  7. ^My properties were returned to me and by Indhacade's representatives themselves, ka waran..? I also know others who have also been blessed likewise and still others who are in successful negotiations. Dadku ha xaq-tirin.

  9. Good Bilan I am well aware Siad Barre's rule was a dictatorship and, as a result, there are much more who were opposed to his rule because of personal, religious, and most often clannish reasons then there were those who weren't. His autocratic rule and whatever his various policies were are not my contention. A young man went so far as to allege that Siad Barre, like Ataturk, banned the hijab and banned the salaat. Where? When? What law? What specific code? What article? What line? Covering in the education system depended on the individual teacher. A teacher might have removed students for not wearing the appropriate "uniform", which might not have included the hijab, while in the same institution another teacher might removed students for also not wearing the "uniform", which might have included the hijab. The policy of the government concerning such issue was non-existent, yet some of us allege it altogether banned it! Where did they live that we didn't live? When did they live that we didn't live?
  10. Kashafa- Sheeko Heblaayo is wrong and right is not my point. Discussing whether Siad Barre's government was an Islamically rooted government or not is also not my point of contention. Accusing the former president of banning the hijab and the prayer, two fundamental aspects of our religion, IS my point of contention. Proof is in the pudding now be a doll and provide the pudding awoowe. Nowadays you would have to be lucky not to come across some sort of revision of history by "enlightened" young ones.

  13. Somali Islamist orders 'holy war' A Somali Islamist leader has ordered a "holy war" to drive out Ethiopian troops, after they entered the country to protect the weak interim government. "I am calling on the Somali people to wage a holy war against Ethiopians in Somalia, " said Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweys of the Union of Islamic Courts. Ethiopia denies that its forces are in the government's base of Baidoa, but a BBC reporter has seen them patrolling. The UIC took control of the capital, Mogadishu, last month. Since then it has consolidated its power over much of southern Somalia. But Ethiopia is strongly opposed to the Islamists and has repeatedly warned that it will send its army into Somalia if the interim government is attacked. On Wednesday, Islamist militiamen were reported to have advanced to within 60km (37 miles) of Baidoa. They have since withdrawn and deny planning to attack the town. Ethiopia has been a long-term ally of President Abdullahi Yusuf and in the 1990s helped him defeat an Islamist militia led by Mr Aweys. Speaking on national radio station Shabelle, Mr Aweys accused President Yusuf of being "a servant of Ethiopia for a long time". The BBC's Mohammed Olad Hassan in Baidoa says the town is calm and a curfew has been imposed. Clapping In the capital, thousands of people participated in what was called a peace demonstration to show how the city had been transformed in the last month under Mogadishu's new rulers. Correspondents say a convoy of some 500 cars travelled from one side of Mogadishu to another without passing through any checkpoints, which until last month dominated the city. Mogadishu's residents have lived through 15 years of anarchy as rival warlords divided up the capital into separate fiefdoms. Crowds gathered at the sides of the roads and clapped and waved branches as the vehicles passed by. They also chanted anti-Ethiopian slogans during the demonstration, urging the Ethiopian troops to withdraw from Baidoa. Our correspondent says peace talks in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum, where a UIC delegation has been waiting for over a week for the government, look even more unlikely to take place. The UIC's head of security has said the talks will be cancelled if Ethiopian forces did not leave Somali soil. Mr Aweys has denied US claims that he is linked to terrorism. He has been on the US list of people "linked to terrorism" since shortly after the 9/11 attacks in 2001. A UN report earlier this year said that Mr Aweys had been getting significant military aid from Ethiopia's rival, Eritrea - a claim Eritrea has denied. Source
  14. ^Why relagate the Somali nation's job to a clan militia? You do realize Gedo is not the objective..? The objective is Mogadishu; the objective is the representative of the Somali nation to the world.
  15. Samurai- Do not despair my man. There will come a time, somewhere in the near future I assure you, when we stand face to face and not only reminisce but to settle scores on our actions of this very day. History stands witness but as for now, keep stroking the Lion of Judah's toes in the manner befitting the ever faithful kow-tower.. Go enjoy your tea my man, tomorrow is too hazy to know if you will taste one again. ta ta
  16. Samurai- I take it things aren't going for Abdullahi..? What this conflict, or tensions for that matter, is doing is seperating the real Somalis from the others (be that they themselves may claim to be Somali!). I would hate to say let the battle began as I am not in the frontlines and will not endure any suffering myself, but I do believe this conflict will be the one that unifies us against our enemies, Habash or Somali alike.
  17. General Duke- I hope you understand where my concerns lied from the get go. Wallahi aad baan ugu farxay dareenkaad muujisay. If Ethiopia is emboldened by the Israeli attacks in Lebanon, I dare say they have a thing or two coming their way!

  19. From what I have come to understand, Indhacade is not at all what he has been alleged to be. Indeed the man has curbed the the siege and rampant pillaging the Lower Shabelle was under for the better part of the last decade from the marauding militias that used to call that said region their personal playground. Is Indhacade the most villified character in southern Somalia? I believe so. Is he rightfully villified? I do not believe so.

When did he 'discourage' or outright 'ban' the salaada? And 'ridicule the religion,' how? I am also astounded someone can make an accusation of that magnitude and expect to get away with it. 22. Il-Generalle This is nothing new to my person. I posted something about the properties of my family and I being awarded back to us by representatives of the Courts but the topic was erased as soon as I had written in it. Are you just realizing this phenomenon? Plenty of my acquaintances, both families and friends, have been awarded back their properties. On the topic though; Generalle I think what you are denying is that Abdulahi himself is the problem. Not the cabinet and not anyone else. He is the problem.
  23. ^What the TFG suffers is miscalculated relationship that is a detriment to its objectives. How can the TFG unite the Somali Republic when its chief ally is doing everything in her power to stand against that? How ironic. The people Abdulahi trusted have become the liability to his government's ability to succeed.
