  1. Barre yaa Caabudwaaq ka xigo? Allwadani is a tabloid sxb. They have been anti-Barre ever since the Jamac Adden Dhere fiasco some years ago. It was in their interest to propagate themselves as Court supporters and continue to badmouth the man. I find them despicable.
  2. The first Somalian town north of the flood-affected areas, Abudwaaq has become a military focal point and potential battleground in the brewing conflict. That was the intention of the ICU when they went into Caabudwaaq, but that is not the case. I know personally that this will not be the case. There is a reason why Caabudwaaq decided not to resist the ICU and why the armed militias who could have clashed with the ICU were sent out of the city and into Ethiopia itself. There is also a reason why Ethiopia decided not to surround Caabudwaaq like a plague of locusts but instead decided to send over a 100 cars through Galdagob into Gaalkacyo and are now presumably just north of Bandiiradley. There is also another reason why they have reinforced to the greatest extent possible those of theirs in Balanbale area sending the ICU into a flight of panic in a bid to also reinforce their men around Guri-Ceel. All this has to do with the reason why the commander of the ICU in central regions, Cago-weyne, left Caabudwaaq in a hurry when he realized their plan to make Caabudwaaq the frontline was not working and is now himself back in Bandiiradley. Let me tell you that there are quite a number of smart people in Caabudwaaq who have absolutely no interest in seeing blood and carnage in their streets as a result of of a fight they neither care about nor support and have no stakes in. Tell me you did not expect them to sit around without working under the scenes?

    Cyper War

With all due respect, how wise is it to glorify something that might take the lives of countless civilians and cause more destruction to whatever is left of (what was known as) Somalia's infrastructure?
  4. Xiin! Ina adeerow waxaan islahaa kolba hadii gacan-kuhaynta magaalada qadiimiga ee Kismaayo lala wareegey ee warlordki xumaa laga kacshe, Sheikh Xiin labadiisa lugoodba dariiqa ragaa wadaadada isku magacaabay yuu u dhaqaajin lahaa, aadna sida inuu dhulka kula go'ay ama cirka ku duubtay yaa shib tidhi. Shanqar lagaa maqlin. Anigu wax kalaan ka fasiray balse hadaadba kolba soo laabatay, waa inaan xaal kusiiyaa fikridaydi horena bedalaa! hen clearly Baydhoba has no clean finger to point; adeer waa lawada wasakhaysanyahay. Lets put that to bed. Marba hadii lawada wasaqaysanyahay, why does one group claim greater moral superiority. If they are both what we would effectively term "qolo aduunyo", why does one group hold up the kitaab in one hand and hide the other dirty hand? Ileen raga isku wada dar, mawqifkuna ha cadaadee ama waxaad tidhaa kuwane waa ehlu-diin akhiro ka fakirayo, kuwa kalena waa ehlu-qaynuun aduunyadaan indha-hooda dhaafin. Hadaad odhanaysid sida dambe ee raguna sidaa kala yihiin ma isku qiil baa u dhigan hadaba?
  5. ^I guess you have outline the recurrent problem. It it no wise of you then to send a letter to Sheikh Aweys telling him to sideline the problem if he wants everyone on board?

Horn, adiga aad baad uceebooday, you were riding the horse of the ICU,but as soon as that horse came to Kismayo, you have become totally changed man even to an extent that you are still justifying the fact that Ethiopian troops are in Somalia..what a disgrace to oneself. Forgive me Red, I do not even see the need to respond.

  8. ^Well I for one am greatly surprised you know Caabudwaaq, Kashafa. You're picking up there adeer.
  9. Che, you clearly misunderstood me. I did not speak specifically about Xamar nor blamed Xamar for the problems of Somalia in the last 16 years. I responded to your assertion you know how to deal with Somalis better then others, and I questioned how accurate that assertion was.

  20. Somalis raising cash to rebuild schools Saturday, November 25, 2006 Sherri Williams THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH Civil war in Somalia caused the government to collapse and the educational system to crash, leaving children without a solid foundation for the future. Somalis living in the U.S. hope to rebuild the educational system in the eastern African nation by opening schools in their homeland. The Columbus chapter of the Texas-based Somali Development Foundation will hold a fundraiser dinner at 5 tonight at the Capital Cafe, 3296 Westerville Rd. Tickets are $20. The group plans to open three high schools in Somalia in the next two years, said national board member Abdinur Ali, of Kansas City, Mo. About $150,000 will be needed to build the schools, he said. The push to enhance education is essential to rebuilding the country, which erupted in civil war in 1991, Ali said. Last year, 13 percent of boys in Somalia were enrolled in primary school along with 7 percent of girls, according to UNICEF. "We don’t have hospitals because we don’t have doctors," Ali said. "We don’t have a good water system because we don’t have engineers. You have to have the human resources to build those institutions. If you don’t have the qualified staff, it will fall apart." The group raised $7,000 at last year’s dinner, Ali said. Tonight’s speaker will be Ali Khalif Galaydh, former prime minister of Somalia and visiting professor at the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. The Somali Development Foundation was formed last year by a coalition of groups working to rebuild the country’s educational system, Ali said. Chapters are in Columbus, Kansas City and Ottawa, Canada. Separately, the groups have already opened a high school and elementary school in Somalia, Ali said, and reopened an elementary school. The foundation wants to open a university in Somalia in the next four years, Ali said. Although Somalia has no stable government, Somalis in America have successfully built schools there, he said. Columbus has the secondlargest Somali population in America, with an estimated 45,000. Funds raised for the schools will be held in an account in the U.S. and disbursed to Somalia as needed for various phases of the project, Ali said, including purchasing land and construction. Financial records are being kept to make sure donors can track their dollars, Ali said. Somalis in Columbus are excited about the effort because the schools can help empower the next generation, said Mohamed Dini, spokesman for the local chapter. "They have felt the heat of ignorance," he said. "So anything to teach them, they are willing to take on." sherri.williams@dispatch.com Source: Columbus Dispatch, Nov 25, 2006
