Can i know whats the difference between this American who was killed by the Iraqis and the American solider (UN Solider) who was killed (beaten, knifed and stoned to death) by the the angry Somali mob in Somalia on July 1993. Why we dont have Historical books about Somalia? Actually the only two books i had read for somali authors are :- 1- What's happening in Somalia for Axmad Barkhad Max, i loved that book its about Somalia's History from 1839 upto 1987. 2- The Wind of Change for Moxammad celwan. This kinda like a novel, its not exactly a historical book. So, i was wondering why we dont have histroical books? I know Somalia's History from my parents' mouth or relatives only. all the historical information are told verbally but nothing is written. We could lose this historical information if they are not written and kept somewhere. Even, the somali poems and proverbs are not written in books. Its good to keep them in books not in minds only. So why dont we have books about Somalia's History about the old history of somalia. Who are the Ancient Somalis, where they come from, their old language, their origin. Some says that Somalis were there since the Pharos Age and it used to be called "Ardul Al Bunt". Maybe i could be wrong and there are books out there in Canada, Australia, USA or UK about our History? If you know any books, kinly let me know. Rgds

Well since iam an exhausted bookworm i wont mention all what i've read. But now iam reading a book called "Leon l’Africain" for Amin Malouf (French/Lebanese Writer). I love this author and enjoyed reading his books specially "Samarcande" and "Le Périple de Baldassare" , Amazing books, they are categorized under the Histroical Novels. There are many Somali Sheikhs who are stuyding in KSA who come back to Somalia and start teaching their ppl about Islamic Teachings. How many Quraan books that Fahad Complex print every year and goes to the Islamic World including Somalia,Millions of books free of charge not even with one fils. How many mosque and schools are opened with the Help of the Arab Countries. How many charity contributions KSA donate to Somalia. Iam not defending KSA or UAE bcz they are Arabs, but i dont forget the good things the person give me even if they hurted or mistreated me for once. Hate the action but dont hate the nation.

People with weak personalities who are ready to change their culture and Islamic teachings from the first moment they put their feet in a Western Country and people with strong personalities who will never drop their culture and Islamic concepts no matter what. So, if you meet or hear about Somali guys or gals who became westernized or did un-acceptable or bad actions you don’t have to relate that to the country they came from. It has nothing to do with the country/region they come from. Its not also related to how their parents raised them, because there are many guyz/gals who do awful and terrible actions although their parents raised them well and taught them the right Islamic Teachings and the good manners..
