All the First-Cousins Marriages that happened in my family faced very difficult situations and disapprovals from the elders bcz:- 1- Its Ceeb in our society, your first cousin is like your brother/sister. 2- Relatives Marriage is not good for the children's health. 3- Some say its better not to marry from the same family incase any fights or clashes happened between the couples it will move to the whole family and such small & normal fights between the married couples may cause disasters and break-ups in the family  Guyz whether u say "Hell No" or "Never Ever" Or "No Way" what Allah has written for us will happen regardless of what we want/wish. You never know; just hope and pray that God grant you a good, decent and lovely Soulmate

I choose Alchemist. And its better to read the whole book then discuss it,so that the reader can cover all the Cons and Pros in this novel and tell us about it. Ofcourse, everyone has his own opinion which could be different than the other readers. And this is the pleasure in discussing the books, to hear the nomads'/others' different opinions and views and learn from them. I guess the best thing to do is to vote in Ameena's Poll just to save our time. Salam

^^^ She is a beautiful writer indeed, no doubt. Anyway Friday is not that far. We'll see who will win the highest vote. Salam

Salam, Guyz, all the nomads are welcomed to join this Book Group. I've suggested Paulo Coelho as a begining not coz he is the best of the best but coz:- 1- Paulo's books are widely read, Iam sure most of the Nomads know about him (The avid readers, the normal readers and even those who don't read alot). There are many writers out there and it seems it will take time till we agree on a specific book that we all know and read. 2- His books contain: Adventure, wisdom, pleasure, fun, some philosophy, mystery, sufism, legends, knowledge ,,,etc and its for all ages. Its not just a book, but more than that. Not only the Alchemist, but I found that Coelho's books are mostly written in the same Charming, well-written and interesting way like in Miss Pryme and the Devil, The Valkyries, The Pilgrimage, The Fifth Mountain and Veronica Decides to Die. I must admit "Eleven Minutes" was not good enough for me. It seems I didn't get along with Maria 3- Coelho's novels & books are not that long onez, its kinda short (4 me). Means those who didnt read for him can finish in a short time. Or we can start with Literature, any kind of literature you like. French, English, Russian literatures. I believe most of the nomads here read the known books for Alexander Dumas, Doestovesky,Maupassant,Jane Austin, Charles Dikcens,Virgina Woolf,Flaubert,Victor Hugo, Hemingway, Mark Twain, Leo Tolstoy, Blazac, Anatole,Zola,Maxim Gorki,Albert Camus,,,etc. Many names and many books. Just decide what the starter will be and let's enjoy this tasty meal called "Reading Books" and discussing them. One more thing, Every Reading Group has a Facilitator/Captain who runs the group means adminster it, keep the topic active, set the times for starting and ending the discussion..ec and a Co-Captain to replace the Captain in his absence. Otherwise, this reading topic will be like any normal topic in the forum and nomads may forget about it. I would really love to participate but I don't have enough time. So It would be great if you also decide who will be da Captain and the Co-Captain. Salam

So shall we expect "Hibo's Diaries" next season, Go HIBO GO Hibo I have three words 4 ya:- Struggle.. Struggle.. Struggle In this life you'll meet different kinds of people with different attitudes, personalities, cultures...etc And believe me you will learn and benefit from all the situations & incidents that you'll encounter in your life. Common guyz, Pakistan is not the Hell at all, it depends on the way you deal and re-act with your life. How to face your troubles and solve them. I'am sure Hibo will remember these Wonder Years and tell these tales to her Children and Grand Children About the Somali people: respect & deal with those who deserve respect and ignore the rest. Best of Luck and enjoy the Biryaaani and the Hendi Movies. No handsome Khans around P.S: My best friend a Pakistani/Egyptian girl, studied Gynocology in Karatchi but she is under training now. Your words reminded me of her sufferings when she first joined the College in Karatchi. This girl was raised in Abu Dhabi, we were friends before the Kindergarten. Imagine even the original Pakis can't fit in their society if they weren't familiar with it. She was ready to leave her country and study Busienss in UAE, she tried many things to convince her parents just to leave the place. Guess what, she is enjoying her time now in Pak, LOOOL of course after 7 Years. Patience is Virtue Khoda Hafiz

Originally posted by sheherazade: quote:Originally posted by Muad: It is a great story and great book, the Author does a great job by exhorting the virtue of literacy in this book, hence the title - when Cawralla writes a letter to Cali, who was illiterate, revealing her love for him, he goes to her father and brothers so they can read the letter for him. Thats when he realizes the importance of literacy and pledges to teach himself how to read and write inorder to respond to Cawralla's letter. Now that's romance. sigh Interesting story (Book) I hope to find it. Thanx Muad LOL Sheh, Iam sure if you read Cantar's story you will feel and smell the romance dear, specially with the Classic Arabic Language Salam

Salam, I was chatting with this European lady in the Saloon; and she talked about her vocation to “South Africa†and how Africa is a beautiful place. The lady was so happy with her vocation and she was praising Africa’s beauty a lot. When I told her that Iam originally from Africa. She opened her eyes astonishingly and asked me:- She : Oh..Really, from where? Me: (Loudly & Proudly) Iam from Somalia. She: Hmmm… mmm.. I see, excuse me but Where is Somalia? Me: Its in the East of Africa, We have the longest coastline in Africa. And Somalia is crossed by the Equator….. wait a minute…. you’ve never heard of my Somalia? She : No, Not really, sorry Me: AT ALL She: Nope Me (Boiling): Not even about Horn of Africa. She: No,Sorry Would you believe that?! She is not a kid, not a Psycho, not Illiterate. She is a PROJECT MANAGER from Eastern Europe as she claimed LOL. And she went to South Africa. Nomads… What your re-action will be if someone asked you this question: Somalia?! Where is Somalia on the world's map? Is it a silly question or a normal one? And what would you consider it: Ignorance, Lack of Information, No Interest to know about it…etc Somalia’s name is not that difficult, its not a street’s name, not a village’s name, not a town, not EVEN AN ISLAND in a far Ocean. I mean It’s a very known country in Africa, Its SOMALIA, damn it, doesn’t she even know about the World’s current Politics?!. My Little brother knows what its going on in Ukraine these days. HUH If Somalia was The Lost Atlantis she would have know it? Cajeeb Well,I changed my mind no more Jacques Dessange (Where some ignorants never heard of my Somalia) Am I exaggerating/overacting here , Coz Iam really pissed off, Iam mad & Iam OUT LOL . Originally posted by NGONGE: Qays’s love was unhealthy though. In his love for Leila, he was blind to everything else. His only purpose in life was to LOVE Leila! I have this feeling he wasn't in love with her. Her beauty was an inspiration for him, that's all. I mean the girl was his cousin (As you mayknow Arabs loves to marry between the man and his cousin) and there were no problems between the two families so why they had refused him??!! Coz he said poems about her. There is this kind of Love (Self-torture) where the person likes to torture himself by creating his special miserable atmosphere. Certainly it was unhealthy & worthless love There is anotehr wonderful poem by Qays for Layla: Dead Man Saying Poems It's a very meaningful and lovely poem, sorry I dont have the translation.
