It was funny how Sh. Gheelle, per the imam, the reliable sources were religious men who were relatives to the deceased and there is some truth to that, the only problem is how he announced it to everybody. He could've asked the family to meet him in a private room to discuss the matter.

Gheelle, another imaam ended up leading the janazah prayer after a long dispute between the imams and the deceased's family but the whole thing was just horrible. The first imam pretty much anounced everybody in the mosque that they will not perform a janaazah prayer for this person because they have been informed that "the deceased used to not pray, wasn't religious, and changed his name to an American name" from a reliable source. The family literally fought at the mosque, then finally two gentlemen stated that they have seen the deceased praying during the last few days of his life.

I was there, it wasn't very good scene.
