African Nice post. I beleive all of them can be true.I second the somali and the pakistan girls tale. One of the cases the pakistan girl has happened in my near circle. I was shocked about it and we learnt that the perpertuators had planned it all along. Worst part was they were also Muslims. they had this mentality of saying she thinks she is better going 2 b a good muslim.We will share her n see what can she do. It was readily sadistic. How can you deliberatley do such a thing??. No woman should be raped. Some ppl may say coz she aint covered well she deserves it . but i dont agree. Life is sacred and it is the persons will to do what they want with their own body.But nothing and noone should force a person to do something without a persons will. Asalaam aleykum Happy seeing ppl commenting on the mr right issue. i still have the bad habit of comparing them to the likes of my father and the Prophet SAW. and truly having a hard time. Had the opportunity of being proposed by an eligible guy but coz of my passion of educating myself let him go. He is happily married now with a lovely sister and Allahmdullilah im happy that i let it go. (Though heard some of my girlfriends nearly brought down a fight on the wedding day coz the sister who got married was also a friend of mine. :confused: )I still beleive it was meant to be Qadr. And im waiting for what Allah has instore for me. But as other sisters commented need to keep ur eyes open coz he can be right under you nose. When you do met the Mr Right dont forget to pray Salat Istikhara . you may not know what the future holds. but you can ask of Allahs assistance.

Asalaam aleikum I will like to recommend Fundamentals in Islam by Abu al Maududi. For those who would like to reflect on the objectives of the pillars. For Islamic character -The Muslims character by Al Ghazali. I enjoyed reading Said Qutbs work.In my opinion he was trying to project a political motive. Ive also read Things falling apart.Worth the effort. Read also Songs of Lawino written by an african writer dont remember the name author was Ugandan starting with O. read in my high school years. Had an effect on me on how education, westernization effected cultural norms. For those interested in astrology,embryology or ever questioned modern science and the Quran. Book by Maurice Baucille -The Quran,Bible and Modern science is an eye opener. Allah Akbar.

If i have the choice ill go for brains. Brains come first especially as we live in an age where beauty can be bought for a price-have a nick or two removed or have something added,that is if u have the cash to spare.Its not that im against beauty but its merely a topping of the cake. As other factors like honesty, friendship, trust, personality matter more and are related to the persons intellectual level. The person can be attractive but not necessarily beautiful.

Hey i support sosodeaf thanx there. True most of us rel-sijui'z(swahili speaking somalis) great grand parents left somalia in search of a better land to graze. Some like mine worked for the KAR(Kings african rifle) sent to tanganyika to protect her magesties empire n robing us our heritage. So we ended up listening to stories about the great somaliland.One thing for sure was they made us memorise the atrismadha if thats what it means family tree n made a point of telling us where n whom was our relative. crazy but hey who can blame them they left their homes when they were young n strong settled in east africa with the dream of one day returning back to the horn of africa their home.At the same time trying to place in our hearts a sense of patriotism to call ourselves somalis and fulfill their dream.
