Zanzibar gives 25 years imprisonment for Homosexuals
Warrior of Light replied to Truth Seeker's topic in Politics
Alhamdullilah Im happy some changes are being made back home. I dont agree with this statement though ." A society that encourages freedom of expression inevitably allows people to satisfy the sexual instinct as they wish allowing the rise of homosexuality and other forms of sexual deviation. Zanzibar is %99.9 Muslim (should i say was)and people were highly religious. And if it was freedom of expression they always had it and followed the Quran as theyre guidance in life. It is utterly known that such acts are haram. The so called changes happened after infilitration from the mainland, the islamic ideals were slowly eroded. This homosexuality issue started to be a problem in the late 90s when the Zanzibar govt were forced to open their doors to tourists and exiled zanzibarians living in the west and middle east to boost the economy. The people from the middle east are famously known as 'june-july' who come and have extravagant parties for this elicit relationships thus becoming rampant now a days in the islands. Such that even the natives are diseased. I only hope the mainland wont interfere with this ruling as they tend to with the Islands affairs especially when they concern religious issues. Though I fear when the ruling is taken into action some people will be used as scapegoats.A problem in developing countries those in power or material strength are never touched. -

We cook it alot on my Mums Omani side and its eaten frequently in Zanzibar and the east african coast - Ndizi mkono watembo za nazi. The difference are ghee and salt are not added and crushed cardamom is added instead(some add vanilla). And first a light coconut milk creme is added(covers two thirds of the plantain + sugar), left to dry then a heavy thicker coconut cream + cardamom is added to dry with it. You can also have it with chapati or spiced meat(left to dry the type served at weddings with halwa)- u know sweet n spicy

Sure is sad. Unfortunately in Africa, people with mental disabilities are still stigmatised or neglected by the community. Medical organisations, people with medical understanding and with the community's backup need to work hand in hand to reach these unfortunate souls and eliminate these incidence of ignorance. Education, community service is the key. The unfortunate thing is with treatment some forms of mental disorders can improve, the kid may have a chance to catch up with fellow kids(though mental age will be younger compared to children same age group) and live a life of less dependence. Sometimes its just the lack of medical access, they are termed mentally retarded while the child maybe autistic or deaf thus miss the chance of living a normal life. NGONGE They’ll say JINN have possessed the child. the so called Jinni which possess a person is treated medically its part of the Pyschosis disorders,e.g schizophrenia(Well known and got high prevalence globally -Also there is a movie titled The beautiful mind - was a good movie ). Comes in many forms as hallucinations or delusions, disorganised thoughts. The good thing about it it is treatable. At the end of the day people need to find solutions e.g seek medical help. and stop claiming beliefs that they possess jinis.

A good book signed and dated with a note or card. Sometime when I feel down can open n read n remember the occasion. Work of art. And the thought - scarf, flowers, a phone call, an icecream can do it. -

There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away. The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall. When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen. The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted. The second son said no--it was covered with green buds and full of promise. The third son disagreed, he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen. The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment. The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but ONLY one season in the tree's life. He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season, and that the essence of who they are--and the pleasure, joy, and love that come from that life--can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up. If you give up when it's winter, you will miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer, fulfillment of your fall. Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest. Don't judge life by one difficult season. Persevere throught the difficult patches and better times are sure to come some time or later. Author: Unknown Courtesy: www.everymuslim.com

Warrior of Light replied to BORN_BRANIAC's topic in General
Im the same on/offline, dont see the need to change my persona. Though, I have to admit the internet has made me more easy going when coming to expressions. I miss the usage of body language.
