  1. Why are they fighting anyway? Al Jamaca iyo Alshabaab. This Al Jamaca group are very suspecious, who are they and what do they want?
  2. The mafia is productive but still illegal. Why do you need a macmal port when the major Mogadishu port is open?
  3. Twisted logic, why do you want an illegal, private port owned by one individual to operate when the Mogadishu port is open. This is one of the major obstacle to pacifying Mogadishu. As long as there are Isbaaros in the sea, land and in airports no government will be able to function. Unless, of course, you are not interested in government.
  4. I second that. Wishing the new leader whoever he is a success and mnost importantly the restoration of a just Somali nation.
  5. The only person you know is you and even you have no complete control of yourself. This goes for all of us humans. A better word will "hope".
  6. Xudhuf don't say never, you may eat you words one day. It is good move and it helps and legitimizes the peace process in Jabouti. I hope Sharif and Cade are flexible enough to accomodate the concerns of other groups so that the outcome will be successful.
  7. I think these individuals are speaking for themselves. I don't trust them and neither should the D-clan, these are interested in gaining power only for themselves. The best course of action will be to wait and see how the new TFG behaves and how it will be able to pacify Mogadishu. The new TFG will be dominated by H-Clan and it is a golden opportunity for them to restore Mogadishu to it's former glory as a multi clan national capital of Somalia. I have to admit, I am not optimistic but I will be happy to be wrong.
  8. This is just the appetizer, just wait and be patient for the real food.
  9. I have to agree with NG, Somalia is better place to invest at this time and even ten years ago. People who invested in the NY stock market lost all the gains they made for the past ten years and it is still going down. The kind of returns for telecom companies, constuction import companies and buildings in Somalia and in Puntland in particular (which I was an early investor) have been fantastic. IF I had known the collapse of the investiment market in the USA, I could have taken a chance in Somalia. But who knew? As they say don't put all your eggs i one basket and one should always diversify investment, after we live in a global village.
  10. The difference is that we are interested in restoring the Somali state either by A/Y or Sh. Sharif or even a someone from the North West and you on the other hand are stuck in dismembering Somalia not to mention in wearing clansih glasses that make your analysis emotional and worthless.
  11. At least Sh. Sharif is saying the right things, let us hope he will be able to pacify Mogadishu and entice the shabaab to moderate and join him . IF this happens, then we may get an effective government for the first time in 18 years, IA.
  12. Not bad at all. But Somalis have always use qabiil as basis for parties. Under close examination each clan supports their own. Parties by themselves are not the solution. The solution is to educate the population with Islamic morals who are guided by principles rather than triblism.
  13. A&T iyo Pirateland, war ninka maxaa lagu sameeyey aan ka xaalmarinee.
  14. Unintende consequence of an illegal act. These foreign fishing companies fish illegally off the coast of Somalia and now the pirates are illegally hunting all kind of ships not just fishing companies.
  15. Che, You are confused saxib and your opposition does not make sense. It is their loss if they refuse the top positions they were offered and President Faroole gets the credit. As Ibtisam says work within the system and contribute and if you they do a good job they will have change in four years to run for the top job.
  16. This seems to be unity government, good for Faroole. Let us hope he intriduces good government for the benefit of all, and that will be the test of his admin.
  17. Indeed it is good news that the Ethiopians are out. Is Mogadishu going back to anarchy with new factions ready to spill more blood or is this the begining of peace and return to sanity. Let us pray the 18 years of nightmare is coming to an end, aamiin.
  18. It is clear that both of them are clueless and it shows how flowed was the Djibouti accord. What was the point of doubling an existing parliament and giving to the same group the extra seating without any clarification of how the seats will be distributed. This was purely intended to sideline the President without having any plan on future course of action. Hence the confusion, The main problom in Somalia is the Mogadishu clans who have refused for the past 18 years to pacify the south because of too many internal conflicts. Nothing will change until they realize they need to compromise for the sake of their own people and for the sake of saving the Somali nation. All the factions in Mogadishu should sit in dirrin as Bashi often repeats and reconcile and committ to peace w/o outside interfernce. If this happens, the Somali problem will be solved in no time.
  19. I don't see what SL accomplished so far. On the contrary, it shows the people of Sool are still waiting for rescue and will not be part of dismembering Somalia.
  20. Naxar no disagreement, they should hold direct elections and it must come soon.
  21. Great progress and indeed s smooth transfer of power. Where are the ones who were predicting doom. Cade deseves credit for upholding the constitution of Puntland. Let us wish success for the new leader with the help of Allah, aamiin.
  22. Nuune, Okiyaalaad u baahantahay. No comparison beween Faroole and Fooxle. The only thing they have in common is the letter F.
  23. The man was in Aussie for the past four years, so what makes him pirate?. Oh, I forgot it is the usual crowd ...nothing serious.
  24. Thanks somalipride. I agree with you, a remarkable man who fought A/Y and made peace with him and ruled Puntland peacefully, Despite his short comings, Puntland made progress. You can see that only if you have visited the land. What I would to ask Che & the point when was the last you went for a visit to Puntland?
