It is the job of the UN to decide who should be the leader of South West and I guess you don't find strange that they were advocating for former AlShabaab Robow who has blood on his hands. In fact the UN official exceeded his authority and they is why the secretary general quickly replaced him. One thing I an agree with you is that the Federal government should get its act together and concentrate on defeating AlShabaab and removing Amisom and all foreigners armies from the South.

Suldaanka is reduced to trolling. Forget your infatuation with anything western , they will never teach you what is right and what is wrong. The UN has failed Somalia and it is about time Somali leaders should rely on their own people "Waa inay sku tashadaan". Turkey in one year has done more to rebuild Mogadishu than the UN did in 25 years as one UN official admitted.
-
Agreed. Those who are hoping or wishing centralized administration from Mogadishu will be disappointed. There are two major obstacles facing the Federal government. 1- Alshabaab 2. Amisom. Farmaajo and Khayre need to keep their eyes on the prize of defeating Alshabaab and removing Amisom and all foreign troops from the South. Unless they accomplish these two objectives, their authority will be limited.

President Elect of Puntland State of Somalia: Siciid Cabdullahi Deni
Peace Action replied to Tillamook's topic in Politics
Wax Ka bartay dugsiga hoose iyo dugsiga dhexe magaalada Muqdisho, ma garatay. -
I think you are rushing to judgement too soon. The problem between regional governments and the federal government is minor and easily solvable than Al-Shabaab and Amisom. What is the agenda of Farmaajo and Khyre? I don't see a coherent plan to solve these problems. They need to come with a plan soon or they will be voted out like Gas.

Congratulations to the new President of Puntland Siciid Deni. The Puntland people are tired of corruption and want clean government. Deni needs to deliver.

Looks like there is no apparent dark horse this time. Ali Isse definitely as an experienced heavy weight may be the dark horse. Siciid Deni and Mohamud Khalif (Jebiye) both businessman who are not corrupt also have a chance. We will know the winner on January 8, 2019 .

Oodweyne stop digging. Of course we are all Somalis. In this particular case, the secessionist enclave looks foolish even to their own people by siding with the UN official.
-
Farmaajo needs to concentrate defeating al-shabaab and removing the Amison. The only way the Federal government will have power over the regions is to share the aid that goes to Mogadishu only. The Turks spend 700 million in Mogadishu and lately the Qataris gave $200 million to the FG.

MMA Isqor bilaa qaat It will have been better for Somaliland to keep quiet, now they look bad siding with foreigner UN civil servant against their own Somali people. The UN has no choice but to replace him with someone who has more diplomatic skills and knows how to navigate the crazy Somali politics.
-
Well done to all Somalis in Minnesota and congratulations to Ilham.

MMA Good link. Looks like first name.second name@parliament.gov.so if the first two names are same then first & third and if first second and third are same then first & forth. Knowledge of email and other forms of social media communication should be number one condition to become a member of Somali Parliament.

Camey's final speech caps off a dysfunctional administration in Garowe
Peace Action replied to Suldaanka's topic in Politics
When the chief secessionist Oodweyne and the chief anarchist newbie Dalmar1 of SOL agree with each other, rest assured that Puntland is making progress. Seriously when does having orderly and peaceful elections becomes a liability. As a matter of fact this is one of the major achievement of Puntland, an orderly and peaceful transfer of power every 5 years with new president, vice president and 67 parliamentarians. -
Camey's final speech caps off a dysfunctional administration in Garowe
Peace Action replied to Suldaanka's topic in Politics
This is all about the election. Dr. Gas's chances are diminished since he is not able to have the support of his own Vice President Engineer Camey. This also shows the strength of the Vice President. The good news is that there are some excellent candidates that are capable of defeating Gas. Since when having an orderly and peaceful election is a bad thing. My advise to secessionist, your never ending attacks on Somalia on these message boards will not slow down the progress Somalia has made in the last few years. It is also a sign that you are really worried about your place in the future of Somalia and we feel sorry for you. -
Samafal the above quote sums up Dr. Gas's prospect for another term. No Somali leader have ever won a second term in fair and free election.
-
This is Somali pastoral democracy as it is best with a little bit of colorful show biz. It will be very competitive as usual and there are signs that Dr. Gas will not able to win another term January 8, 2019. It always amazes me why Somalis especially the constant whining secessionists always turn positive news from our country into pissing clan contest.

Saudi And UAE troll farms attack Congresswomen Rashida and Ilhan
Peace Action replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
Interesting read. The middle eastern despots are panicking because they will keep losing control as they witness history being made by Congresswomen Ilham and Rashida. They are even more angry because their masters have allowed free and fair elections in their countries and the "slaves in their eyes" are now their new masters. -
These are not real opposition, they are looking for pay out, unfortunately they miscalculated. Farmaajo needs to reach out to all stakeholders and focus on real problems of al shabaab and pacifying the south.

SOLers knew . Saudi King invites back Qatar to GCC meeting
Peace Action replied to Old_Observer's topic in Politics
With Qatar blockade still in place, it will be foolish for Qatar to attend the GCC. In addition, MBS Mr. Bone Saw is crazy and wounded enough to detain the Qatari Emir. Qatar should publicly humiliate Saudi Arabia by rejecting the invitation and demand the blockade lifted. -
Somtel faces a lot of competition and they are burning a lot of cash from their money transfer business. It is obvious why they are raising cash from investors because they are unable to sustain the telecom business by themselves. They were too late in getting into the telecom business by buying one of the least performing telecom companies Somtel. This is very risky investment. You should invest money only if you can afford to loose it or wait for a longtime for a return on the investment.

Well done and congratulations to Turkish people. Turkey has been transformed since AK party came to power from sick man of Europe to the 13th largest GDP by PPP (purchasing power parity) in the world.

Puntland had civil war because of 6 month delay by former president A. Yusuf Yey. It is not going to happen. Dr. Gas should be wise and intelligent enough not fall this so called delay. Former president Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke said it best during the war with Ethiopia "we will fight with one hand and hold the elections with the other".
