Kudayo Puntland: Now that's how you handle Al Shabaab
Peace Action replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
Gen. Ilkajiir waa geesi ann geed loogu soo gaban, in my opinion a better polical leader than Faroole. Next election, Faroole should loose and Ikajiir should become the new leader. -
Waryaa Huguri su;aasha waxa weeye yaa caadifo qabiil haysaa. Except for few Solers and foreign based web sites, the majority of Makhir's support the govt action against Atam and his shabaab supporters. Now again who is siding with his sub sub clan again?

NG iyo tol la'ay? That means clan is everyting and so is the enclave/triangle based on tol la'ay. In that case you are consistant, but remember tol la'ay will never reach nationhood.

That is where you are mistaken, it answers to Faroole and Puntland state and it can not take action without prior approval. Where is your proof that it takes orders from CIA that is contrary to the interest of the state.

Since, his way is to repeat himself, like a broken record; and therefore, every one else would be compel to head to the door from any discussion that he is involve in, indeed. But, yours, as they say, it still bit stale around the edges, indeed, my friend ... It is the kettle calling the pot black, you are first in secessionst clanish-circle the wagon and when it comes to tol 'la'ay, it is has become your motto and what motivates you to try to secede from your nation.

You want to dismantel PIS and then what?. Puntland has seen worse things before and this too will pass (IA) and Galgala will not become a safe haven for shabaab.

Somaliland’s clans: The shameless empire strikes back
Peace Action replied to Land_Soldier's topic in Politics
Originally posted by NGONGE: Clans are good. Clans are healthy. Clans create the state, and as long as the state does not offend or belittle any clans the clans will ensure and encourage the survival of the state. Clan is EVERYTHING. Wax fahma. The problem is not clans, it is clanism or qabyaalad. Assabiyah is what is lurking below the surface of every clan and if not check and controlled can get out of hand. -
Originally posted by xiinfaniin: Oodweyne has superbly put the truth of this matter in custody, indeed. I trust Faroole’s overall philosophy and attitude toward governance, and hope his latest rhetoric is a strategy to consolidate this free lance security agency in a manner that does not raise suspicion on his motives. I though you were smarter than this. He has been reading too much of Sol rumor mongers about PIS. It is not sub-sub clan, meaning Cadde's clan, entity just because Osman Diyaano is head of the it who was appointed by C/Y. It employes many different subclans and even there are Somali bantu's in it. The reason C/Y decided to setup PIS to administer its payrol is what makes it quite effective and gives the solders high degree of morale because they are compensated and taken care of very well. Why would you want to cripple PIS by having a corrupt a minister run it and then the solders will not be paid. I know you have beef with PIS activities earlier (illegal renditions etc) so do I. But now we have shabaab trying to establish a base and Faroole needs to confront this killing machine with all the resources available to him.

Originally posted by Libaax-Sankataabte: quote:Originally posted by Peace Action: Let us be realistic, PIS's mandate is to fight terror and with shabaab getting a base in Galgala, Faroole will be foolish to dismantel the most effective counter terrorism unit in Somalia. Peace, Awoowe how did "Al-shabaab" get a base in Galgala in the first place, if the PIS was "the most effective" security organization as you put it? Ask Faroole who tried to reason with Atam to no fail. It is open secret that all Puntland security apparatus including PIS (contrary to you and some Solers, PIS can not attack any place w/o Farool's approval) were united in removing the threat in Galgala but Faroole refused instead trying to solve the situation peacefully. In the meantime, Atam was getting reinforcement from shabaab and in the last two months their numbers have grown to more than 400 and maybe even 700 as reported by locals.
-
Xiin, The original fight at Karin happened because Atam send 50 men to attack Karin where there were 10 solders manning a checkpoint. PIS was nowhere near Karin in the original fight, but they came quickly as reinforcement and helped defeat the aggressors. Let us be realistic, PIS's mandate is to fight terror and with shabaab getting a base in Galgala, Faroole will be foolish to dismantel the most effective counter terrorism unit in Somalia. The TFG gets support from foreigners and has foreign troops in Mogadishu. Likewise Somaliland gets similar support from foreigners. Yemen, Eygpt and many other countries get support to fight terrorism.

Source: 14 indicted on Somalia terror-related charges
Peace Action replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
Chief Justice Roberts said the government had advanced a position that was too extreme and did not take adequate account of the free-speech interests at stake."The government is wrong," the chief justice wrote, "that the only thing actually at issue in this litigation is conduct" and not speech protected by the First Amendment. But he went on to say that the government's interest in combating terrorism was enough to overcome that protection. This is double talk and the CJ still sides with the govt. What do you expect from the right wing dominated court, they could care less of freedom of speech specially when it deals with muslim minorities in the USA. -
LST is wrong, the issue is not PIS this time, it is alshabaab getting a base in Galgala. And who wants to get rid of PIS, alshabaab and their supporters, so that they can expand their base. When the state is under attack, it is sucide to dismantel or cripple your strongest military unit.

Faroole i warn you: Poem by Mohamuud Shiino (audio)
Peace Action replied to Xudeedi's topic in Politics
Dayaca koonfureed buu Shariif soo dawinayaaye Ma Alshabaab baa sharif noqday. This should read Dayaca koonfureed buu shabaab soo dawinayaaye. Where is Attam in the poem the man who brought alshabaab to Galgala. -
NG how can you explain the totality of the interview. The man not only said he is alshabaab but has the same ideology as alshabaab. Therefore your opinion makes no sense. The good news is that this particular group of alshaab and their supports in Galgala has been neutralized as a front for alshaab and now are backtacking and distancing themselves from their sponsors.

The above is one of the best english poems I ever read, too bad the auther is unknown, May Allah reward him/her.

If the Prophet visited you (peace and blessings be upon him) I wonder........................ If Prophet Muhammad visited you Just for a day or two, If he came unexpectedly, I wonder what you would do? Oh I know you would give your nicest room, To such an honored guest, And you would serve him your very best. You would be the very best, Cause you're glad to have him there, That serving him in your home Would be a joy without compare. But...when you see him coming, Would you meet him at the door With your arms outstretched in welcome, To your visitor? Or...would you have to change your clothes before you let him in? Or hide some magazines and put The Quran where they had been? Would you still watch those movies, Or your T.V. set? Or would you switch it off, Before he gets upset. Would you turn off the radio, And hope he had not heard? And wish that you did not utter your last loud hasty word? Would you hide your wordly music, And instead take out Hadith books? Could you let him walk right in, Or would you rush about? And I wonder...if the Prophet spent, a day or two with you, Would you go on doing the things you always do? Would you go right on and say the things You always say? Would life for you continue As it does from day to day? Would your family conversations, Keep up their ususal pace? And would you find it hard each meal, To say a table grace? Would you keep up each and every prayer? Without putting on a frown? And would you always jump up early, For Fajr at dawn? Would you sing the songs you always sing? And read the book you read? And let him know the things on which, Your mind and spirit feed? Would you take the Prophet with you, Everywhere you plan to go? Or, would you maybe change your plans, Just for a day or so? Would you be glad to have him meet, Your very closest friends? Or, would you hope they stay away, Until his visit ends? Would you be glad to have him stay, Forever on and on? Or would you sigh with great relief, When he at last was gone? It might be intresting to know, The things that you would do. If Prophet Muhammad, came, To spend some time with you. - Author Unknown

Al-Shabaab: We will capture Puntland within Ramadan

what you say Nasir and Xudeedi? -
Originally posted by Nassir: quote:Originally posted by Peace Action: Nassir give it up and stop defending Atam. Don't you see the injustice against the Western Bari community and the existential risk they are posed to their sources of livelihoods such as farming and the ownership of their mineral rich land? I am calling for a reconciliation and for peace. According to the International Crisis Group, PIS, which is on a direct payroll of the West, ($400 each soldier a month), is predominated by Farole's clan. Farole has no power over its independent operation and it is accused of many human rights violations through the arbitrary orders of Osman Diyano--a former commander of Ade Muse's clan militia. I can understand the complaint about PIS but what is the "existential risk they are posed to their sources of livelihoods such as farming and ownership of their mineral rich land?" You are defending a violent man who is front for Alshabaab and want to bring anarchy to Puntland. That is not the way to achieve progress for your community by destrying the peace.

Galgala: Root Causes Masked By SSDF Clan Media Outlets
Peace Action replied to Xudeedi's topic in Politics
MMA don't be simpleton this is an ideological war between Puntland and alshabaab front. Go and listen to Sh. Atam saying he is alshabaab. You can't bring more than 400 well armed troops including foreign jihadists and hide in the mountains near Bosaso and then start shooting Puntland solders without any consequences. The same thing happened in early ninties when Al Itihad tried to take over Northeastern region.
