Ameen. Ilaahay ha u naxariisto. Bugland (JB) is happy and you think your enclave is immune. That is what Puntlanders thought when the assassins were striking in Mogadishu.

It is a good sign of progress that Egypt, a strong Somali unity support, should reach out to all Somalis especially Somaliland and help them out. Egypt has been a big help in the areas of education through Somalia for the past twenty years. Egypt is going thru a tough time recovering from 60 years of military dictatorship but I have no doubt that Egypt as the leader of the Arab world would become a force for development, peace and progress. This will be good for Somalia as a whole

We dont take anything they say serious, not the ones in Hargeisa or the ones in the miyi. Your all stuck in 1800 defending Caynaba. Move on. How will Somaliland ever become a country with such hate filled comments from die hard secessionist. You are making our job much easier thank you.

Where will they be without so much oil. There is so much wealth to spread around that the corruption of the ruling families does not have negative effect. They need to be grateful to the Almighty but unfortunately they are taking it for granted.

I don't blame the man. He was jailed by thin skinned Faroole for few months. It is personal issue with him. But if you are interested in Puntland politics, read the following breaking news: http://horseedmedia.net/2011/11/30/heshiiskii-maamulka-puntland-iyo-beesha-tanade-*******-oo-garowe-lagu-soo-afmeeray

Prof. Abdiwali Somali PM arrives on an official visit to Qatar
Peace Action replied to Fiqikhayre's topic in Politics
Great pictures. Now if the PM can get Arab countries to invest in rebuilding Somalia, young people will think of the future instead of fighting. -
If I lived in Hargeysa, I will not go near the plane. It looks like little wind may topple it.

Having different political understanding does not sever the ties of kinship. I bet a close relative of yours is against secession but the blood relationship remains.

Good point. They don't realize it makes them small and worthless. Instead be thankful for the peace and well being God gave you, while your brethren are tested with war, famine and poverty.

Professor Axmed Ismacil samatar There is hardly any Somalia any more
Peace Action replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
Even though it looks bleak, the situation in Somalia will get better, Insha Allah. Those of you who are prematurely celebrating the demise of Somalia as nation are wrong and history will not be kind to your wishing ill for your own country. -
Kenya’s Political Failure in Southern Somalia
Peace Action replied to xiinfaniin's topic in Politics
If the end result will be division of Somalia into weak client states, may be we should re-evaluate the federal system based on week client states that makes Somalia a weak nation easily manipulated by its neighbors. -

True. But sadly you have nothing to show for it in terms of recognition and it is a quagmire that can easily destabilize the peace and progress achieved so far.

Eid Mubaarak to all. Consider the Islamic Eid as a great favor from Allah to celebrate the end of Fasting and the end of Hajj. Both of them come after great struggle and sacrifice and expecting a reward of spiritual enlightenment. It is a time of joy with family and friends and a time of forgiveness and compassion to all.

Who is inconsistent Abtigiis or Xiin?. Ethiopia was invited by the Somali govt to defeat Alshabaat both of them opposed it. Kenya invades Somalia without the knowledge and consent of the Somali govt. Xiin opposes it but Abtigiis supports it. Having read these boards for few years, I appreciate Xiin's consistent approach to finding lasting solution to Somalia's problems. Even though the Ethiopians defeated Alshabaab quickly, they were not able to pacify the country because Alshabaab just wore them down until they could not take it anymore. I have to agree with Xiin & Malika that the same thing and may even worse things are in store for Kenya and the Kenyans will be unable to prevail in the long run. A better approach will have been to arm and train Somalis to defeat Alshabaab.

If this is true, then Faroole will be making a huge mistake. Who is advising anyway?. Amison bring trouble than benefit and may energize local shabaab sleeper cells. -
Death of Gaddafi: A Lesson but not for Dictators
Peace Action replied to Abtigiis's topic in Politics
I disagree with your belittling the achievement of Libyan people in getting rid of Gaddafi. You are forgetting the sad end for Gaddafi was exactly his reward for the way he treated his own people for 42 years. He showed no mercy and receive none. Nato helped but it was the bravery of Libyan people who ultimately get rid of the tyrant. Those of us who live in the west should appreciate how the western countries are concerned with human rights violations and if some leaders continue to brutalize their own just to stay in power, than outside intervention will become inevitable. The question you should ask is why these third world countries do not respect basic human rights? -

Nuune Qadaafi is gone, killed by his own people after 42 years of brutal repression. Libyan should look to the future, the past is gone never to come back.
