Ex-Unionist from Sool shares what changed his views about Somaliland
Peace Action replied to Suldaanka's topic in Politics
The former SL foreign minister is in Mogadishu right now, does that mean SL is finished. I will repeat once again "qabilkayga iyo qaran kaladaa" as long as SL independence is dependent on other clans, you have no control over your destiny as far as becoming a fully recognized independent country. There is nothing wrong with dreaming, keep the peace and make progress and leave the destiny to future Somali generations. -

Guulwade is always guulwade no matter what mistakes the leader commits. It is corruption of the highest order to postpone elections. This is a huge set back. Somalis remember PM Sharmarke and his famous speech during the war against Ethiopia 1964, Dr Sharmarke said: We join the elections and We are voting with our right hand, and with our left hand we took the rifle to defend the country from Ethiopians, our enemy, my dream is to liberate Somali who living under colonial power Ogaden, NFD, and Djabuti. -

Ex-Unionist from Sool shares what changed his views about Somaliland
Peace Action replied to Suldaanka's topic in Politics
The secessionist project success always depends on the support from Sool, Sanag or Awdal. In other words, it is not in your hands, hence the occasional display of a supporter who hail from these regions, however immaterial. We have seen this film too many times and the ending is always the same; fail. -

Galbeedi "Sheikh Aadan Afqalooc waxa uu yidhi, ” qof qalbi la’ Quraan kii ku Akhriyey Qaaf dheh Ku Haraadye”, Hore ayaan idiinku sheegay in Soomaalida la sheegayaba ay Inaga ” Reer Woqooyi” tahay. Darwiishku Buuhoodle, Toghdeer buu ku Dhashay, Ahmed Gurayna Zaylac iyo Awdal ayuu ka soo jeedaa, taariikhda Cusub ee Soomaalidana waa dadkii seedereeyey. Waar niman yahow dalka aynu la wareegno reer Koonfur wax ma hayaane." Adiga uun baa ka fiyow. Reer waqooyi, qabiil baa indha tiray oo "gooni isu taag" baa majarihii saxda ahaa ka leexiyey. Way tegeen Ilaahay hasoo celiyo, laakiin Alhamdulilah Awdal, Sool iyo Sanaag marabaan go'itaan. Farmaajo and Khayre and the Finance Minister Bayle are doing much better job and therefore Somalia's future is much brighter today than anytime of the last 40 years. -

Afxumada waa laydinku yaqaan, waa Faisal Cali Waraabi oo kale. War magaca Suldaanka dhig, oo dumarka kaliya ayaa masayra miyaa? Ragu ma masayraan miyaa? Ma wixii xun, Xaawa leh baa? -
It shows the weakness of Somaliland "gooni isu taag" project. The key here is that other clans are more important that the Habros for this project to succeed. Add to that Silaanyo's bad leadership, Somaliland people need to re-evaluate their strategy.

Inaalilaahi wa inaa ilahi raajicuun. Ilaahay ha naxariistu samir iyo imaano reerkiisa. MMA samir iyo imaan. All of us will have to go, but he went unexpectedly while serving his nation when it needed him the most and inshaallah Allah will reward him and shower him with His mercy on him and protect his family.

Dubai’s P&O Ports wins 30-year concession in Somalia’s Puntland

YoniZ isha ka tuurtay. Who is going to invest $336 million in Bosaso port? Berbera port, Mogadishu airport, Mogadishu port are all managed by outsiders. Haddii Somali wax maamuli wayday, maxaad rabtaan in dadku gaajo ku dhinto. Qofkii horumar iyo nabad keena ayaa Somali anfacaya. -
Galbeedi even though I agree with you on some points you should not be calling Obama, Kenyan just because he is carrying policies that favor the US and limit its involvement in the middle east after the catastrophic failure of Iraqi invasion. The right wing smear campaign about Obama being born in Kenya was meant to de-legitimize President Obama and you should not be repeating this false statement that has become the rant of the racist. As Somalis say dameer aan fuushanahay maxay dhusadiisu iga dhibay ( the fart of a donkey I am riding does not bother) The US did what was in its own best interest, the question is did Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar did what was in the best interest of their people and the region. The answer is no. What Turkey is doing could have been done at the beginning of the Syrian conflict and in conjunction with other Arab countries. Now it may be too little, too late after Assad and Russia success in killing at least 500,000 syrians and making half the population refugees. The question is why Arab and Muslim countries do not put their houses in order and instead ask outside powers to help and eventually make the problem worse. I agree Turks are right to complain about European double standard when it comes to freedom of expression and freedom of assembly.

Odey, Why are you getting worked up about Senile Silaanyo when you call everyone else names—–remember?…. you dish out but don’t expect it back. come on. Enjoy it. I second that. Enjoy it, Xaji Xayraan.

This is horrific incident that shows alshaydaan are still able to infiltrate government. There needs to be more protection for MPs and ministers, otherwise the FG will look even more incompetent. AUN inta dhimatay, maalin Jimca ah iyagoo waajibkii salaada gutay ayaa la dilay. Ilaahay janada haka waraabiyo.

It is win win situation. Pessimists always look at the glass as half empy but optimists look at it as half full. This the first meeting, the second meeting will be in Growe and it is good for Somalia that the leaders of the country work together. Xaji Xayraan of course, as a secessionist is jealous of the progress Somali leaders are making toward working together and formulating road map for the future of Somalia. Mooge needs to realize that it is better for Somali leaders to work together rather than against each other.

The Parliament will sack the new government. Qoslaye may be next.
Peace Action replied to Mooge's topic in Politics
Mooge be reasonable, the MP's rejected the cabinet because of some trouble maker ministers and they thought once their wish is accepted they will get even more seats, more than the previous 37 or 60% of the first cabinet of CCC. Now there is 0 MPs in the new cabinet. I thing HSM and CCC played good politics and are not to be blamed for this, it is the corrupt PMs that are preventing the country to move forward. They all want to be MPs and ministers at the same time and that is not possible. HSM and CCC should stick to their guns and work to get all MP present including those outside the country approve the cabinet. -
We don't know yet, but if true then he is even more publically tone deaf. May be he does not realize that he is the President and could get less decisive ministers and still implement his programs. He is damaging his political future beyond repair. Damulajadid is finished politically and he killed it.

Allah u naxariisto. Sadly he accumulated a wealth of 20 billion most of it looted from the treasury of the country. He did not use most of it and yet he will be accountable in front of Allah.

SW3 & SW6 Merged Into 1 SW3 Administration. A Victory 4 Locals
Peace Action replied to Dr_Osman's topic in Politics
Even though Sharif Hassan is shady character, yet in the case of 3 region SWS, he is more realistic in what is possible and achievable rather than incorporate Juba which is already recognized federal state. It is better that people in these regions come together and build the new state together rather than create conflict. These are three important regions with lots of resources that can succeed together and does not need other states to be viable. -
SW3 & SW6 Merged Into 1 SW3 Administration. A Victory 4 Locals
Peace Action replied to Dr_Osman's topic in Politics
Che your opposition to federalism is just like your naive support for shabaab before you figured out how bad they were. No Somali will submit to be governed from Mogadishu again. There has to be genuine power sharing between regions and central government. No one will accept a governor or mayor appointed from Mogadishu. Federalism may not be the best model, but it is the only solution for the current governing crises facing Somalis. Those who think federalism is bad let them produce a viable working model for the present day Somalia. -
A Candid Conversation with President Hassan Sheikh
Peace Action replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
I think this government is not capable of dealing with alshabaab let alone other war criminals. Somalia will not achieve peace until those who committed war crimes are punished. It is utterly misguided to forgive mass killers. -
A Candid Conversation with President Hassan Sheikh
Peace Action replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
In terms of security, Hassan Sheikh just announced that if Godane gives up and repents, then the government will forgive. That is hugh mistake. The leaders of al-shabaab terrorist organization needs to account and stand before a court of law for killings innocent people period. -
A Candid Conversation with President Hassan Sheikh
Peace Action replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
This is an excellent question and answer session and I hope this continues in the future for the Prime Minister and the Speaker as well. It will have been better to get more representative audience minus politicians from all states including Somaliland and Puntland. You have to give credit to Hassan Sheikh for agreeing to this kind of forum, getting some tough questions and answering diplomatically without offending some groups in Somalia. It is also very clear this government has no agenda and does not have the capability to face many of the difficult challenges facing the nation. Unfortunately that is all we have at them moment and instead of undermining it, it is better to guide, and cajole it to implement good policies that will lead to progress for Somalia as whole.
