  2. Nice graphs,Adde did better campaigning in most regions. since Hashi tried to snatch the finance ministry from Farole as acting president. Farole made a comeback by a decree from Nairobi by then president Abdullahi Yusuf to undo the decision. So this must be his revenge. Say sweet revenge,

  4. hi all, first good luck with ur movie, most of the above proverbs and their meanings in english are not right, they gave direct translation, and don't show the hidden messages, i would recommend u to collect as many proverbs in somali, then talk to the people u think known somali well, such as elders in person and ask each wat it means, and write them down, that would be productive. this site may be helpful with a large collecton of somali proverbs?--->> Proverbs!

  9. Somali Prime Minister Ali Mohammed Gedi announced on Friday in Nairobi the names of 47 ministers who will form his new Cabinet, nearly a month after the country's Parliament sacked his first team. The ministers and 42 assistant ministers were immediately sworn into office before President Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed. Gedi said he made a slight change to his first Cabinet, which was sacked on December 11, in order to respect the principle of equal distribution of power among five major clans and one minor in Somalia, as envisaged by the country's transitional Constitution. The new team is expected to fill a 13-year power vacuum in the anarchic Horn of Africa state, which first descended into chaos in 1991 when dictator Mohammed Siad Barre was toppled. "I have made this list to the best of my ability," Gedi told his new ministers. "Those given posts will have a task of serving Somalia a critical point ... Some [of you are] unhappy because they were not in the list of the Cabinet, but hopefully tomorrow, they will be in the list. This is not a permanent Cabinet," Yusuf said. When the first government was formed on December 1, some warlords were not happy with the post they were allocated. All of the Somali officials involved in efforts to set up a new government, including Gedi and Yussuf, are based in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, because their own, Mogadishu, is still considered too dangerous. "The Cabinet should immediately draw [up] a timetable for the relocation of our government. We should go and serve the people of Somalia immediately, not sit here in Kenya," he added. Since 1991, two governments have been formed, but neither managed to establish control across the country, where rival warlords have wreaked havoc and carved themselves fiefdoms. Hope for success is much higher this round of peace talks, which started in Kenya in 2002, mainly because previously excluded warlords were brought into the negotiations and because of the unprecedentedly concerted efforts of countries in the region. -- Sapa-AFP

  11. Somalis are naturally skinny people due to the habitat of our country which is dry, our genes adopted to our environment, but one moves from the country and lives in thse countries the environment is different, and there is not much activities, it is possible to see all kinda diseases ,obesity one of them. What I find more interesting is the fact that these type of disorders are not all that frequent in our own Somali community. Is it because we're Africans and share a culture that promotes more well rounded figures and frowns upon skinnyness Yes,that is true, but that implies only to back home where "well rounded figures",are associated with money and there arn't many of them.

  14. NGONGE,have u ever reread ur articles? take it easy man, SmithNwestern was merely stating of wat he saw and his experience, it wasn't wat he had in mind and expecting. i myself lived 10 years in Dubai and every1 knows that da dirty western culture is eroding fast da traditional culture, even the locals will admit that to u. Yes, there are many mosques, and many good islamic centres, but it is overwelmed by other activities. "There is a clear hierarchy, the Indians and Africans are at the bottom" Dubai is land of opportunity and if u have the knowledge, u can make something of urself,i haven't seen any hierarchy for expatriates other than those between the locals.
  15. 91 ministers,  ..this is crazy,India, the largest democracy in the world with 1 billion plus population has 91 ministers...

  23. a/c i pray in public. ie parks, libraries, but i always consider areas where i won't be disturbed. I believe one who misses or delays his/her salat in fear of others, has a very weak iman. Those guys praying in the jet,i reckon they are courageous, On long flights, i used 2 pray while sitting, another good option for those guys would be to pray one by one instead of jamacah(group),Allah did not make our religion difficult. bro AJ, take it easy man,I understand ur views towads Arabs countries, why not create another thread for that topic . BTW OG are u related to Masris? wasalamu calaykum

Atleast those countries in Asia has got fucntioning government and got emergency plans, those poor somalis have got nothing, and the only one being selsfish here is u .. BTW nobody knows the number of victims in those regions in somalia,
