  1. Ok, we all agree there are some somalis who are lost from both sex,but one thing needed to be addressed here,One a guys is lost, there is a chance for him to retreat, and go back. How many guys who were hopeless and were example of losers, changed, went back, married and now contributing to the society, while, when a girl is lost, there is no turnin back, and this is scary. The problem is somali commnty don't accept girls who crossed the line. So if u as girl are doing wat is not the norm of islamic and somali culture, and you are doing this cuz men are also doing it,then you will only be the victim. and my final advice, there is no gender competition, this is MAN'S WORLD.
  2. Somalis are ofcourse africans, why would one doubt that  ,Somalia joined the arab league for economic gains in 14,Feb, 1974, this membership has confused some pple, it is just political organisation and has nothing to do with being an arab. if one learns arabic, automatically makes an Arab, this is impossible, and it is an inferiority complex for trying to look for ways to relate so that others would accept u in their circle.
  3. Nice topic,,why instead of taking totally another root, try to solve our problems thru our culture. As Baashe put it there are many factors which put somalis in the current situation, all thse equations,Consensualist Somalism, and new ways of lifes won't change the somalis, the only thing that would work is to shape up what we got, and steer it into right direction.
  4. You see Somali women in Somalia didn't have a life, most of them stayed home while the guy went to school to get educated. In Somalia, girls weren't liked very much. In fact, Somali girls back home didn't really have any self-esteem, they would hide when eating by covering their faces with gabasaar. my dear sis, hishoodku is part of our religion and is something valuable 4 a muslim girl to have, what have u been reading?Which somalia u talking abt? u are one those who feel women back home need to be liberated, yes, there is abit of unjustice here and there but it is not as u paint. I beleive Our somalis women are treated as Queens , the somali Social structure is based on our Diin and culture and there is no substitute, Boqorka, Saxb meeshan mind mindi ku taag baa ka socota,,marka gabdhaha iyo wiilasha lunsan ba soo bandhig, ,cinwaanka topigana bedel.
  5. it is indeed sad story,i wonder wat she has gained out of this!!May allah give her the strength and courage to look for repentence and forgiveness. For those who wish to remove the pic, there is nothing to be emotional, it only shows wat pple are capable of when they loose hope.
  6. Gabdhaha da' yaraanta ku guursanaya ayaa waxa ay ku soo badanayaan guud ahaan Soomaaliya, da' yaraanta gabdhaha ku guursada ayaa waxa ay la kulman waxyaabo aysan maskaxdoodu u adkeysan karin sida ninkii ay jeclayd oo ay ku aragto naag kale ama shakiyo ku saleysan maseyrka ayaa waxa ay is tusineysaa in ay nafteda ciqaabto taasoo mararka qaarkeed ku kalifta in ay is gubto, sun cabto ama ay is disho. mar ay wariyaheena Mugadishu ay booqatay isbitaalka weyn ee madiino ayaa waxa ay indhaheda qabteen gabar da'deeda lagu sheegay in ay tahay 18-jir oo nafsadeeda kula kacday fal gubasho ah, kaas oo qatar galiyey nafteeda. Si kastaba ha ahaatee xaalada gabadha oo aheyd mid u dhaxeysa nolol iyo geeri ayaa waxaa suurta gal noqon weysay in ay saxaafada la hadasho. Dhanka kale waxaan wax ka weydiinay Sheekh Ibraahim oo ah wadaad ku xeel dheer dhinaca shareecada Islaamka, waxa ay ka qabto qof maseyr darteed isu gubta isaga oo ka jawaabaya Sheekhu waxaa uu yiri" qof nafsadiisa wax yeelo u geeysto ma banaana oo sharecada Islaamka waa ay diiday oo waxa uu muteysanayaa qofkaa naftiisa haligay cadaab aduun iyo mid aaqiraba shaydaankuna uu u qurxiyo laakiin waxaa jira in u maseyrku yahay mid la xarira nafsada bani'aadmaka waxaana haboon in Alle laga magan galo islamarkaana ay haweenku ogaadaan in Alle uu u baneeyey raga 4 haween ah. Si kastaba ha ahaatee waxaa ku soo badanaya falalka noocaan oo kale ah sida in ay gabadhu iska soo turto meel aad u dheer"Dabaq sare" taas ayaa waxaa lagu macneeyay in ay la xiriirto wadanka oo ay ku soo bateen aflaanta ay jilaan hindiga oo lagu tarjumay luqada Soomaaliga oo ay ka daawadaan waxyaaba la xiriira in hadii ay gabadhu weyso ninka ay jeceshahay ay sameeyaan ficilada ay ku arkaan aflaanta. Dhibaatooyinkaan jira ayaa waxa loo la'yahay maamul wax ka qabta oo mideysan laguna dhaqan celiyo kuwa sida aadka ah u dawada Aflaantaas. yaasmiin@4somaliwomen.com

  8. I object! This is close to blasphemy, may Allah forgive him. But I shouldn't use my objection to justify an unthinking over-protectiveness of 'somaliness'. ^^Is he a muslim First? 9. What will 26 million dollars do for somalia? ,i guess the trip of the President was just a waste of time.
  10. The plans of Ay and Geedhi is simple and basic, they don't want this government to have the same faith as Arta, and will bring Amharo to invade the country watever it takes ,as Ethiopia is the only nation in the region who is the happy to do the job,and at same time have the capability. So the plans of Ay is to overwelm all the oposing militias with amharos. Will it work,i don't think so. God Save Somalia

I wanna know why the guys do it? So boys answer me I believe u can't hide ur past, and if u try to, it will come out one day and ruin all you have. There is no "interrogations or curiosity" as you put it, but we are not new babies, we have apast, why not have the confidency to talk abt it,unless............ You are ur past and being honest abt it will make u succeed in your present, and future.

  15. Moreover, sad to say, experience seems to show the Somalis as utterly lacking the notion, basic to human decency, of fixed loyalty--loyalty to anything high or low, sacred or secular, and that, on the contrary, the principle of greedy, galloping personal gain tends to over-ride all else among us Somalis. Worse still, the concept of personal responsibility or political accountability seems to be thoroughly missing from the Somali weltanschauung, or worldview; and therefore there is no social mechanism in our culture to serve as a check on an individual's—or a group's--rapacious excesses or to restrain malcontents from wreaking havoc on a helpless bovine populace Warlord Abdullahi Yuusuf (today's putative president of Somalia), a leathery survivor of innumerable gun fights and therefore not particularly noted for mildness of character, unleashed his militia on the holy warriors in a fearful massacre, driving the mullahs out into the wilderness and mercilessly hunting them down in their mountain hideouts. Inexplicably, the desperate pleas of God's soldiers for divine intervention in the face of Abdullahi's fury was completely ignored by the Almighty who indifferently looked the other way as the self-styled holy men were systematically obliterated. In the heart of Islam in Saudi Arabia, no woman is allowed to venture out of the house without the Hijaab, or the notorious black veil. To my knowledge, nowhere do you find the imposition of veils on women in the early Muslim community. All that the Qur'an decrees is for women to dress modestly, as indeed Christian women are also commanded. In fact the practice of covering does not even figure in early Arab culture. Covering as a cultural practice originates as a Persian custom and only becomes a widespread Islamic practice centuries later, with the incorporation of Persia into the Muslim world. i don't like his tone at all, though there is some elements of truth in the article, i reckon he has a hidden agenda.
  16. i don't see what is the fuzz about this tape, this is somali politics, based nothing but tribal systems. A/Y, as some of u suggested, trying to influence the pundlanders, cuz Arta was a challenge to Puntland that time. So need of digging up the past, it is not healthy.
  17. So some SOL members 've been very busy last year.
