Intuituion: I saw a movie similiar to this riddle. I think that the guy lived in a lighthouse and by turning off the lights, the ship crashed and all the passengers drowned. Okay here goes another: 1) Before Sir Richard Burton attemped to discover the source of the Nile, which was the world's longest river? 2) If you were running a race, and you passed the person in 2nd place, what place would you be in now?

1) Here on earth it is true, yesterday is always before today; but there is a place where yesterday always follows today. Where? 2) Girls have it but boys don't. Billy has it but kelly doesn't. What is it? 3)A woman shoots her husband. Then she holds him under water for over 5 minutes. Finally, she hangs him. But 5 minutes later they both go out together and enjoy a wonderful dinner together. How can this be? Good luck.

Shaabella, well said. but sis be careful iknow what u trying to say, but don't say the prophet said scw women and men are equal... don't leave it at that, u have to say men and women in the eyes of allah they are equal. but obviously when it comes to who stronger they are not. and there is pharse in the quran, that always put in cnn, that goes like this " al-rijaalu qawamuuna alaa nisaa'a" but don't understand the ayah the wrong way, it doesn't mean that men are better than women... anyways i won't go into explaining the ayah, coz that is Nur's Job... but just be careful. _______ What do I have to be careful of Qac Qaac. Sorry but i dont understand. I specifially mentioned that men and women are equal in terms of judging their actions and deed, but not equal in terms of physical, mental, emotional, psychological........

The prophet (SCW) said that men and women are equal in everything, but have different roles due to their different biologies. Men are supposed to protect women and provide for her, and it is the job of the women to raise the next generation of muslims with good islamic knowlege, values and respect. THe problems occuring in this society with regards to teengagers is because more and more women are working and putting their kids in daycare. You cannot depend on someone else to raise your kids the right way, that job belongs to you, and you are responsible for thier outcome. A child needs their mother's love, guidance, and discipline in the eary critical years.

Now there are other media too whose basic social role is quite different: it's diversion. There's the real mass media-the kinds that are aimed at, you know, Joe Six Pack -- that kind. The purpose of those media is just to dull people's brains. This is an oversimplification, but for the eighty percent or whatever they are, the main thing is to divert them. To get them to watch National Football League. And to worry about "Mother With Child With Six Heads," or whatever you pick up on the supermarket stands and so on. Or look at astrology. Or get involved in fundamentalist stuff or something or other. Just get them away. Get them away from things that matter. And for that it's important to reduce their capacity to think. Take, say, sports -- that's another crucial example of the indoctrination system, in my view. For one thing because it -- you know, it offers people something to pay attention to that's of no importance. [audience laughs] That keeps them from worrying about -- [applause] keeps them from worrying about things that matter to their lives that they might have some idea of doing something about. And in fact it's striking to see the intelligence that's used by ordinary people in [discussions of] sports [as opposed to political and social issues]. I mean, you listen to radio stations where people call in -- they have the most exotic information [more laughter] and understanding about all kind of arcane issues. And the press undoubtedly does a lot with this. You know, I remember in high school, already I was pretty old. I suddenly asked myself at one point, why do I care if my high school team wins the football game? [laugbter] I mean, I don't know anybody on the team, you know? [audience roars] I mean, they have nothing to do with me, I mean, why I am cheering for my team? It doesn't mean any -- it doesn't make sense. But the point is, it does make sense: it's a way of building up irrational attitudes of submission to authority, and group cohesion behind leadership elements -- in fact, it's training in irrational jingoism. That's also a feature of competitive sports. I think if you look closely at these things, I think, typically, they do have functions, and that's why energy is devoted to supporting them and creating a basis for them and advertisers are willing to pay for them and so on.

The ideal man to mold yourselves under is the Prophet, scw.

If I knew that I would be provided for regardless of the state of my marriage or whether or not my husband is dead, I would be very happy and content to be a mom, and wife first. I would gladly stay in my castle.

Do we even have to think about this question? Its as obvious as the sun in the sky, that Canadians are better than Londoners and Americans combined. Kapiish?

QQ: Studying for FINALS. Havent had a chance to see what's going on in SOL in a while. Im talking about the feminists in France most specifically, but it could apply in other areas as well.

NO offense to Lu'Lu, but generally who came up with eyes being doOrways of heart OR beauty in the person's eyes OR some other load of crap. Please!!!! unless you have blue, green, OR grey eyes (which we 'malis dont)then you cant say a person's beauty lies in thier eyes Ok, Physical beauty lies in the facial structure, texture of skin..... which are outwardly traits. Dont try to kid urselves by saying that a person's beauty lies in their character, personlality, how they conduct theirselves. NO matter how kind, sweet, religous, caring a person is, if you are not physically attracted to them i bet you would not give them a chance or even a second look. Like I said DONT KID YOURSELVES. BEAUTY IS SKIN DEEP. DONT TRY TO BE PHILOSOPICAL OR PEOTIC OR ....................................ITS NOT WORKING

I personally HATE HATE HATE feminists. I want to take a knife, cut them up, then feed them to the dogs. Its amazing the things I think about commiting against feminists. Im talking about the feminists who try to "help" liberate "opressed" muslim women by fighting against their right to wear their hijab. Under their disgusting pretext of "increasing women's rights" they are in fact advocating a "white, european" way of life. THe job of the feminists is to basically advocate for the rights of all the women in the world. NOt just the rights of a small population of the world, and expect all the rest to follow. Isnt that contradicting thier goals. ALl I have to say is: leave me alone you R.E.T.A.R.D.E.D MONKEY cause Im a MUSLIM and I CHOOSE to wear the HIJAB. I known this is off topic but I couldnt resist. I got this wierd reaction when I say the word FEMINIST. HAVE A NICE DAY

Please dont get me wrong guys. I am willing to pay my loans in full, because it is haram to cheat anyone whether they are muslim or not. I just wanted help in how to deal with the interest. I live in Canada, and the rule is that you have to pay back the loans in installments, 6 months after you leave school, whether or not you found a job. Thanks to everyone who replied. Assalamu Alaikum.

The patient says, "Give me the bad news first!" Doctor replies, "You've got AIDS." "Oh, no! What could be worse than that?" asks the patient. "You've also got Alzheimer's Disease." Looking relieved the patient says, "Oh...Well, that's not so bad. At least I don't have AIDS."

I am having a major problem with student loans. I ,am planning to go in Nursing and my first two years I already spent $8,000.00 and I have a sickening feeling in my stomach whenever I think about how much interest would accumulate and how sinful it is even though I have no choice. That is the only source of money I have, I am right now concentrating on my studies and volunteering so I dont have time to work. For those of you who completed University or College already, how did you deal with your student loans? And what did you do about the interest  . Have a nice day

Be Careful who you call a Kafir by Fareena Alam "As to those who reject Faith, It is the same to them Whether thou warn them Or do not warn them; They will not believe." The Holy Quran, 02:06 Al Baqarah Abdullah Yusuf Ali's commentary: Kufr, Kafara, Kafir, and derivative forms of the word, imply a deliberate rejection of Faith as opposed to a mistaken idea of Allah or faith, which is not consistent with an ernest desire to see the truth. Where there is sch desire, the Grace and Mercy of Allah gives guidance. But that guidance is not efficacious when it is deliberately rejected, and the possibility of rejection follows from the grant of free will. The consequence of the rejection is that spiritual faculties become dead or impervious to better influence. Be careful who you call Kafir because only Allah knows who is truly a rejector and who is merely a misguided person. It is not up to us to "sentence" a person to the Hellfire. We must always maintain courtesy, diplomacy and a never-dying zeal to convey the message to others no matter how discouraging or useless it may seem - don't give up on a non-muslim because most people are good people who simply need a break from the anti-Islamic propaganda around them. The Fastest Way to Leave Islam It is always safest to assume that a non-muslim has been misguided, misinformed and fed lies and misconceptions about Islam and Muslims - don't jump to calling him a Kafir. Remove the name-calling from your articles and websites - wouldn't you rather be safe than sorry - name-calling, especially wrongly branding someone as 'evil', 'kafr' and 'manifestation of satan' - GHEEBOT - could entail dire consequences for us on Judgement Day. Perhaps there is no faster way to leave Islam than by calling other Muslims "kafir" or "mushrik" without discrimination. About calling other Muslims "kafir," we read the following hadith: It is reported on the authority of Ibn `Umar that the Prophet (may peace and blessings be upon him) said: Any person who calls his brother: O Unbeliever! (then the truth of this label) would return to one of them. If it is true, (then it is) as he asserted, (but if it is not true), then it returns to him (and thus the person who made the accusation is an Unbeliever). [Muslim] Therefore, if you call other Muslims "kafir" or "mushrik" without discrimination, you could find that you have left Islam, according to the words of the Prophet (s.a.w.), in less than a second. Waste no time debating what a good Muslim should be. Be one! Guiding a Non-Muslim to Islam only possible by the Grace of God. Our job is to help others understand Islam - that is our basic duty. And only then inshallah, will non-muslims move in the direction of becoming one of us. We must remain positive, open-minded and generous in our efforts to convey the true message. You cannot encourage a non-muslim to be understanding and open-minded if you yourself are hot-tempered and hurling accusations at him/her. No non-muslim is going to respect you and it will certainly reflect badly on Islam if a Muslim, a representative of Islam, is narrow-minded. I pray to Allah that we develop patience and sincerity in our efforts to bring about more tolerance in this world. Remember....every human being, regardless of whether he/she is born to Muslim or Non-Muslim parents, is born innocent and pure...it is society that influences him/her to stray from Islam and just as a person can stray, he/she can revert back and YOU can help this process. We have a very important and sensitive role to play. We are the trusted Ummah of the Rasool, a servant of God...it has been made our duty and our obligation to pass on the pure, unadulterated truth - make honest and full use of this honourable task.
