The Janjaweed militias, Muslim like the African groups they attack, have destroyed mosques, killed Muslim religious leaders, and desecrated Qorans belonging to their enemies. Government forces oversaw and directly participated in massacres, summary executions of civilians-including women and children—burnings of towns and villages, and the forcible depopulation of wide swathes of land long inhabited by the Fur, Masalit and Zaghawa The attackers portray themselves as 'Arabs,' the civilians being attacked are called 'blacks' or even 'slaves.'" Its Rwanda all over again. How many more have to die before something is done? It is a genoicide...and just like the case in Rwanda...people are refusing to acknowledge it as such.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL@the link. They are getting paranoid! This one made me laugh: A Muslim converting somebody, will never tell the person the whole story. For example when converting men they always leave out the part about having to be circumcised to become Muslim. After all what man would want half of his genitals cut off. LOL@Never tell the whole story....when do the state of one's gentials come into the conversations?...lol They are too funny.

Giving birth at home is something that women have been doing since, well, since they started giving birth. Having your baby at a hospital is an idea that has only gained popularity during the twentieth century. In fact, it is estimated that as many as 90% of the world's current population was born at home. And considering that the world is six billion strong, it seems that giving birth at home doesn't necessarily put you at a disadvantage. Have any of you ladies thought about giving birth at home with a midwife? (The state pays the midwives bills...so its free). Its often a neglected choice because pregant women and their partners are not informed of the alternatives choices that are available to them. I had this interesting discussion at health class...which said that more women (although the numbers are very, very low) are choosing to have homebirths rather than at the hospital. Homebirth provides many benefits beyond a safer birth. Some families choose homebirth because they believe that their home is the most appropriate place for a new baby to enter their family circle. Some families choose homebirth because they want control over all the circumstances of the birth, including who is present and what the caregiver does to the mother and baby. Furthermore, there are no risk of baby mix-ups and careless mistakes or procedures done my doctors. It has been proven that home births are more safe, less stressful, and less painful than hospital births. The unfamiliarily of the hospital, the presence of doctors/nurses/numerous medical personnel and the various strange machines makes a women tense, anxious, and therefore intensifies the labour pains. Even the World Health Organization has said that there is no proof that hospital births are safer than home births in the developed world. Most of the research on home births in the developed world has found that infant and maternal mortality rates are the same, if not better, than hospital rates. There is also less chance of a woman having a cesarean, induced labour, or of a midwife needing to use forceps . Women who give birth in a hospital are much more likely to experience postpartum depression or even post traumatic stress disorder. The more interventions a woman experiences, the more likely she is to be depressed, with C-sections obviously carrying the greatest risk of depression Midwives are just as qualified as doctors...and they help a women emotionally, physically and mentally deal with pregnancy and birth. P.S. I realize that home-births arent for everyone. If a women is told that she would have a complicated pregancy...of course a hospital is the obvious choice.

^^^You and Nuune are confusing it with the Gladiator movie! The thorn in the lion's foot! Now: I believe (I think? ) that in the somali version...the lion was pestering the village by eating the goats and lambs...and the man saved the lion from their anger and murderous intent. So the lion returned the favour when the man was in need in the big, bad woods. I remember there were some hyenas who were drooling after the man...but the lion stayed up the whole night guarding him....(the man slept underenath the standing lion...between his legs.)

^^Your nic always bring a smile to my face ..I think of the North American version of Libax Sanka-Taabte : Now Picture this: There is this shifty eyed, skinny guy walking toward a sleeping lion. He stops five feet from it...looks around nervously...reaches down to his packback...takes out a long stick...slowly and carefully moves toward the lion...he gets an adrenaline rush..he puffs out his chest...runs the last couple of steps...shoves the stick through the lion's cage...and pokes the sleeping lion's nose...the lion wakes up with a roar...and the stinking coward almost has a heart attack as he tries to run...while holding his baggy, loose, pants in one hand and his few leafs of jaad in the other THe next thing you know...hes being forcefully dragged by the guard...waiting for him is a hefty fine and a ban from the zoo.

There is nothing I despise more than politics (As you can see I hardly set my foot here...for fear it would be cut off and be beaten with it) Now...If I would want a position..it would be nothing less than the PRESIDENT. You MEN have ruined and corrupted somalia for far too long...its about time that a WOMAN cleaned the mess up (<----We are the only ones qualified for the job...I doubt cleaning, organizing, and setting things to order are in your vocabulary ) Now...waddayasay? P.S. Who or What is Cumar Finish?

^^^^ Shakespeare Sonnet Revised Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? Id like to, but thou'rt simply much too old. Thy face is wrinkled, and they hair is gray, They years hang from thy frame like wads of mold. A summer's day is jazzy, light of step, A summer's day is ephemeral, and bright, Whilst thou, my love, art hoary, without pep- Best I compare thee to a winter's night. But hold! A winter's night hath special charms Undreamt of in good old summertime, And here within the heaven of thine arms Thy faint but warming fire I find sublime, Old wizened man, I'll stick to thee like glue Until the end..for I love you true! IT states all children everywhere have the right to survival, to develop to the fullest, to protection from harmful influences, abuse and exploitation and to participate fully in family, cultural and social life. What somali person would agree to those demands? 1. They believe children should be seen and not heard. 2. I think each family plants a tree in their yard...for a good supply of thick, long, strong limbs to beat the crap out of their kids. 3. Children are put to work as soon as they can walk---herding animals, looking for firewood, etc. etc. etc. <---could that be exploitaion of child labour? But serioulsy, I think its because there was no functioning government at that time.
