  1. How come its only in T.O. Have fun guys. I'm green with barely contained envy. <---See.
  2. Midlife Quest in which there is a challenging adventure of seeking, exploration, and discovery. Or, it might be Midlife Metamorphosis where there is the profound change of reformation and transformation. Another image is that of Midlife Renaissance with a new birth, a new beginning, and a chance to start over. There is also the possibility of [the most common definiton] Midlife Crisis where there is a sense of urgency along with intense emotion and perplexity. But over all each image involves some level of change and crisis. It is the realization that we have passed our physical peak, and that we will not likely achieve all those goals we set when we were young and for which we have spent the last twenty years reaching. This is about as good as it is going to get. This is it. This is midlife crisis. Midlife crisis is a mental condition that affects many males around the midpoint of their lives (usually somewhere between the ages of 35 and 50). A man is said to be facing four major enemies in the throes of that crisis: (a) His body -- Losing his looks, hair, physique, etc.; (b) His work -- Monotony in what previously was an exciting job; © His wife & family -- Trapped in his responsibilities; and (d) His God -- Accusing him of selfishness, laziness, lust. Specifically, the mid-life crisis is often thought to include: worries about the future, inability to enjoy leisure time, a feeling that health is deteriorating, a negative evaluation of the marital relationship, a negative evaluation of work life, and stress arising from taking care of the elderly (Sheck, 1996) Other research that challenges the idea of a mid-life crisis deals with the idea of the "social clock." This cultural prescription of the right time to leave home, get a job, marry, have children, and retire varies from culture to culture. In life it is believed that we have THREE major identity crises. The first, occurring in adolescence, is to establish an identity. You must get a sense of who you are. The second identiy crisis is termed the quarter life crisis and is about leaving home and testng our wings in the real and all the worries, responsibilities, and insecurities. The third identity crisis is at midlife. SOURCES: The Scoop on Midlife Crisis Midlife Crisis - Recent Research Quarter Life Crisis --------------- Does anyone believe in midlife crisis? Or is it the excuse of middle class folks who have nothing else to worry about but fulfilling the fantasies/dreams/goals they had when they were younger--and using this as an excuse to act out? And if it is to be believed---is it the case that older somali men running to get married to their 15 year old second wife and acting like 'caruur' are simply experiencing midlife crisis? And where do women fit into all this? Maybe the increasing divorces that are initiated by women? Interesting isnt? For a long time I thought I had quarter life crisis.
  3. Ahura, That just totally kills the image I had of you wearing leather gear and a whip with the trademark snarl on your face.
  4. ^LOL. Just doing what your thread suggested. Anyways I'm done here. DRAINED.
  5. I honestly believe that someone figured out her password, cracked into her account and and wrote that. Its just completely out of the blue. Benefit of the doubt people! Waterfall, most respected singers start up as backup singers. No shame in the profession my dear. You should know, your the biggest. Layzie, mmmmmm. Sweeten up that tongue of urs sugar.
  6. Give the girl a break. It's truly pathetic the way a simple mistake laga dabo ordayo. 15 useless posts. Get back to the topic people.
  7. ^This is a funny man. Half the time I don't know whether to laugh or nod my head in agreement. He reminds me of a couple of SOL characters. In a good way. Mohammed Hegazi ....some of his works Palm trees never lie Definitons of terms Enjoy!
  8. Can't really be called defeat if they accomplished what they set out to do, can it? It was all about destroying the country, among other things. Anywho, this caught my attention. Interesting veiw: FAILURE IS THE ONLY OPTION By: Mohammed A. Hegazi Joseph Biden, a US Zionist senator, said about the US venture in Iraq, “Failure is not an optionâ€. Any smart analyst would point out to those deluded US politicians: Failure is the only option left for them. The only other option would be to wipe out the Iraqi people in an unprecedented act of genocide by carpet bombing all Iraqi cities. So, a wise political decision by US Zionists would be: Pack up, cut your losses and leave. Sifting through the rubbish dished out by US Zionist spin media, we may come out with sound conclusions. The US is getting a good hiding at the hands of the brave fighters of the Iraqi resistance. US propagandists can call them insurgents, Sunni triangulars, thugs, or Saddam loyalists. They do call them anything but nationalist zealots who are determined to free their country from vile foreign occupation by greedy and ruthless invaders. The US is doomed to failure as a result of a brilliant plan by the Iraqi army. It is so simple to comprehend: It would have been stup!d to engage the US/UK invaders in a classical war where the aggressors had air superiority. The brilliant tactic adopted by the Iraqi generals was to bring the invaders down to the ground. So, Iraqi tacticians decided to avoid the total destruction of their cities by handing them over, in what the clumsy Yanks and Brits thought was a quick victory. One year later, the invaders discovered that they were bleeding to death. It was indeed a brilliant Iraqi tactic. Those hundreds of thousands of Iraqis fighting on the ground today are mainly soldiers of the Iraqi regular army out of uniform, not remnants of “Saddam Loyalistsâ€, as the spin media wants us to believe. They are making the most out of their modest arms and superior training, against a ‘privatised’ US force composed of private ’security contractors’ and a ragtag regular force of soldiers of fortune, mainly ‘niggers’ and ’spics’ ( Blacks and Latinos forced by economic necessity). Those US soldiers are people who have no genuine cause for which to fight and die. In the heat of battle, they would hide behind one another. On the other hand, Iraqi fighters do have a cause. They are fighting to free their country from foreign aggression. History attests that if a people are so intent on liberating their country, they will. Now, White House thugs can say goodbye to their grand Zionist project. They will never be able to control the world, or even the Middle East. Their war of terror failed dismally. The world owes it to those brave Iraqis fighting for their freedom. Their moment of final victory is approaching.

I love, no, I'm obsessed with monkeys. Thought it was just me. Welcome to the exclusive fan club, Daanyeer. 1st Installment of the Membership Fee: 3 bananas
  10. I see nothing wrong with it. My 17 year old brother is working towards being a cop. He wanted that ever since he was 6 years old and still remains his dream goal. My mom and relatives tried to talk him out of if---he he wouldnt hear any of it. It got to the point that he went to the masjid and asked the imam 'what does Islam say being a cop in an unislamic country' and the Imam encouraged him saying 'We need muslim cops to help muslim victims'. He's very determined.
  11. ^For six years. Yeah, I bet she does Are you being sarcastic?
  12. Woman with half a body No more excuses people. This woman is just extraordinary. Even with her disability---she cared for her mentally retarded brother, her schitzophrenic dad, and her miracle son. She has a life, a job, and experiences more than many of us do. Truly inspiratonal story. A lot of people with disabilities feel that life owes them something, and I was raised in a way that no, no-one owes you a dime. The world doesn't owe you anything, this is what you have and you use your resources and you get through life. My personal opinion is, get up and go for it, just do it."
  13. Simply sis. If you feel that you are being attacked...then don't give them the time of day. Just ignore. You shouldn't be made to feel that way nor feel that you have to explain yourself over and over again...its ur opinion...I agree with some...disagree with some....but thats life nooh? Its just that people generally have a problem being told they cannot do something unless it explicitly says so in the Quran, not that you said it.
  14. I'm not at all confused Waterfall. I'm doing pretty fine up there! If anybody's confused, its NGONGE! Sorry to ruin your thread Castro. I shall behave.
  15. ^Please edit that disgusting and unIslamic statement.

    Dilemma

its obvious that he still loves you Someone who claims to love you wouldnt hurt you or your kids. A man who does that is a worthless bag of shidh as far as I'm concerned. A pathetic little worm deserving the utmost of contempt. I honestly do not understand why we, as women, entertain these topics. Why do we feel the need to justify/explain our actions, feelings, thoughts? Screw 'em all. Do as you please as long as it's within the confines of Islam. And to hell with opinions and wagging tongues. I'm out.
  17. ^No one said anything about too many sorries if you paid attention mister. The article is talking about being able to say sorry sincerely when it's needed. NGONGE, See what I'm talking about? People make these stup!d mistakes all the time. Dont you think you deserve a second chance IDEA STEALER?
  18. Heartless cruel folks *grinds teeth in frustration*** MMMA I saw that actually, but contacting the webmaster is not the same as contacting the writer directly. How long did he wait before he decided he was 'tired of not recieving a response'? I think he had his lil expose' swimming in his head long before he thought of contacting anyone. Ngonge & others! Oh please! Give me a break. I bet each one of you cheated some point in your academic lives...and I bet you prayed to God on your knees that you wouldnt be caught.
  19. 'Massa' is the mispronounced 'Master' slaves often used. I see slavery references linked with women everywhere i.e. ripe minds for picking rings of cotton plantations. Hmmmmm where is this going marka?
  20. ^Thats not the point. The point is, it resembles a dress.
  21. ^You know what I consider funny and at the same time baffling? The same people who are against women wearing pants because it says in the quran 'men shouldnt imitate woman and vise versa' do not bat an eyelish when men wear khamiis, cimaamad and macawiis which oddly---get this--resemble a dress, hijaab and a skirt!
  22. How many of us can honestly claim that they have never plaigerized in their life? I think people deserve second chances. Muxuu ka tarilahaa if he directly contacted the writer himself, showed him evidence of his plaigerized work, told him to change his ways, and warned him that next time he would make it public if he did it again? I think the writer would have recieved the message loud and clear, and it would've done much good & saved his reputation.
  23. I don't know. I'm a little protective of everything somali. I meant shame the poor guy has to go through---ceebta raaceysa. Tongues will be wagging for some time to come. And shame for the exposer. I wonder if it was done out of jealousy or because he 'truly admired the writer and wanted to research his topics more'. Either way, my heart hurts for the miskiin who wanted a name, got it, but not necessarily the way he wanted.
  24. I absolutely understand the burning desire for recognition and appreciation and writers are always striving to publish excellent pieces in order to be recognized by their peers and readers and bring out marketable material. I guess the same 'burning desire' in his belly prompted him to expose a fellow writer. Such a shame.
  25. For the past couple of weeks I've been trying to replace saying "I'm sorry" whenever I bump into pple accidently etc to "Excuse me" which makes more sense. I tend to use "I'm sorry" for everything and it has lost its meaning. However, when I really feel sorry for something somehow it becomes hard to get it past my throat. Thanks for the nice article, Castro. I hope I learn something from it. I feel that I have.
